Help my Mac mini wont work with the airpot

I have got the Mac mini Intel Core Solo G5 model and ive got a ibook G4 my G4 works great and fine but my mac mini does not. I connect to the base station fine useing the drop down bit on the taskbar in finder and enter the password and it connects. But when i do network assistant and it asks for me to eneter the password again it just basicly frezzes for a min then says invalid password when i know that it is the write base station password. It did work once but froze again and said could not connect. and when i go into the airport utlity it can't descover the base station even though it says it is connected with a full signal, im doing the excatly same things i did with my ibook but it just wont work. Please can someone help me and tell me what i have to do or give me some support this is my last hope as apple aren't intrested. I will be very gratful!

This is the update that generated a fix at www.macfixit.com because some folks have been having issues with connection with their internet provider and some people have had issue with their airport systems just shutting down.
It was part of an auto update that was received. One of my Macs is a MacBook Pro Core Duo (not Core 2 Duo) and this upgrade (download) was part of the update check that is automatically performed.

Yep - just go to the System Preferences and choose display and hit 'detect display' which will give you 1080x and other TV resolution options (assuming you have a modern LCD or similar).
You should then be able to select 50 or 60 hz.

I have an iPod G2 with a firewire 400 lead. how can I attach it to my new 13 inch Mac book Pro, is there a 400 to 800 firewire converter. USB lead wont work with the Macbook Pro. iPod used as an external drive to archive memory cards on the go.

My G2 iPod that I use as an external drive to archive memory cards on the go cannot link with my new 13" Macbook Pro cause it uses a firewire 400 lead. It will not work with a USB lead. Is there a firewire 800 ipod lead or converter available? Can any one shed some light on this please?

As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first.

Refresh rate set wrong, mini wont work with TV anymore

I have a Mac mini hooked to my conventional TV. I tried setting the refresh rate to 58Hz. I wanted to see if it made the picture any better. The image lost all vertical sync and the image rolls very fast. I thought maybe a confirm dialog box would switch it back to 60Hz after a set time. It didn't
I tried putting it to sleep an waking it. I pulled the plug and restarted it. I reset the PRAM. The mini always switches to the bad refresh rate after start up.
I hooked the mini up to my 23" Cinema Display. Then I can use it fine. However, there was no way to channge the TV settings. I hooked it back up to the TV and it still wouldn't work.
So now I have a mac mini that wont work with a TV. The only thing I want to use it with. The only thing I can think is a last resort. To erase the hard drive and re install Mac OSX from scratch.
Is there anything I can do short of reformating the thing? There really should be a timed out dialog box to confirm the setting, al la (dare I say) Windows XP.

This is a real Catch-22 that has caught a bunch of us. If Apple wants lots of naive users to hook these up to their TVs as media centers, they need to have the kind of recovery mechanism you suggest. In the meantime, when I had the same problem and posted, there were lots of useful suggestions in this thread:

You should install the drivers first before connecting your phone. Drivers are bundled in with pcsuite/ovi suite which can be downloaded from here.

Mac Mini wont connect to the internet both wired or wifi! Any help?

My other two Macbooks will connect to the net both wired and wifi. As of this morning my Mac Mini just stopped connecting all together. I have version 10.6.8. I only really use the Mac Mini to browse the web and watch movies off of my external hard drive.
I've tried connecting to another wireless network and the same thing happens. I tried connecting to different ports on my router and nothing. My Macbooks have zero issues with connecting. Any ideas???

if you are using Airport it has problems connecting to some modems on dsl systems.

Mac Mini not working with AOL Cable modem

I just bought a brand new Mac Mini but it not working with AOL. My windows XP PC working well with AOL but not with mac mini. Any suggestions? thanks

I just found an interesting thing that i brought my mac mini to Apple store where i bought it. Hook up with store cable, it can go thru to internet with out sign on AOL. ALso I can connect to AOL very easy. Brought it back home, I tried to open browser w/o sign on AOL like i did at Apple store, it did not work. I also tried to sign on AOL alone, still not work either. The weird thing is, my other Windows XP computer is working well with AOL. I called customer service of AOL for help, who takes care the Mac computer, asked me to follow the simple procedure that I already did before i called them like unplug cable modem, restart computer...etc. Nothing new, and then they transfered me back and forth between Mac and Windows specilist with no help. I was on phone with them for 2 hours yesterday. I'm very disappoint with AOL customer service with the way they serve the customer. I'm thinking to cancel membership with AOL where i stay with them more than 10 years, and look for another cable or DSL ISP. Now I'm packing the Mac Mini back to box and bring it to Apple store to return it. Next thing, is search around which ISP, who supports the Apple comp. I'm living at Los Angeles area where's very easy to find a local ISP Verizon, Earthlink, Road Runner... I'll be back to buy a new Mac when i get the internet ready. I love Apple computer, and i want to have it.

Help my zen touch wont work with my pc anym

Right i've just formatted my pc like 40 mins ago i reinstalled every thing updated every thingl like usual then i pluged my zen in and it came up with the windows install drivers thing but it had the newest firware on it but it still wanted drivers so i came on here got the drivers installed reconnected my player but still it wasnt working i tried a few other mothds of the forums but they still didnt work so i deleted the firmware of my player thinking there could of been a problem there and dowloaded the firmware upgrade app and now windows still ditects it but wont install it still and the firmware app cant find it but u can see it in device manager with the yellow question mark above it i also inserted the original creative cd at the start to see if it would take the drivers of it when the windows install window came up but that doesent work either help i really dont no what to do now thx.
PS: i also i have sp,2 installed and wmp0

Double-click it in Device Manager. What's the "device status"? The yellow ? could be something as simple as "<i>There is a previous version of the driver in memory. Restart Windows.</i>"
The software on the original CD won't help. The MTP firmware (2.x) should work with just WinXP with WMP 0, but there is an updated version of the MediaSource 3 plugin for use with the new firmware.

Mac Mini wont network with my other Macs

Hi all,
I have a 3Com 8port router(HUB)networking my Mac-Mini, 8600, G4 & Dell via DSL modem. After my DSL modem bit the dust I've noticed the computers wont communicate with each even though I can see their icons all on my network. Shouldn't they network even if the DSL modem is out? Or is the DSL modem needed to send out IP addresses to the CPUs in order to communicate? I'd like the CPUs to network instantly without the beach ball swirling for an hour...LOL

You are correct that the router part did assign ip addresses.
You can set up one of your Macs to share an Ethernet connection. See the document Creating a small Ethernet network for more information.

How do I combine my content from 3 external hd's and my 1 Mac Mini to my new Time Capsule (which is connected to my Mac Mini) and not have to use my external hd's again? My Mac Mini wont hold all the content on the external hd's.

My 3 external hd's are 500GB (total 1.5TB) and my Mac Mini is 500GB (Time Capsule is connected to this). I want to be able to have all the content from all these sources stored on my Time Capsule as if I only had 1 external drive. Is this possible? It is my understanding that when Time Machine backs up my Mac Mini I have to have my external drives connected since my Mac Mini does not have enough space on it to hold all the content on the exgternal hd's. I can only connect 1 external hard drive at a time and I want to get rid of them and consolidate.
And having to go back in time to search for files on 1 external hard drive and then back in time for the other external hard drive is not the most efficient thing to do. I would like it all in one place.

Sometimes my mac mini wont connect to the internet

I have a 2008 mac mini that for the past two years has had this reoccuring problem. When I try to connect to the internet via my home wifi extreme system, i get an error saying connection timeout, which will not allow me to connect. I know its not a problem with the wifi system because the 3 other people using the system get access to wifi fine. Sometimes i can solve this problem with my computer by restarting it, but most of the times if I leave it alseep for a couple hours it also solves the problem, but like I said not always.
Can anyone please help?

Mac mini wont get past the gray apple screen

recently i bought a mac mini with intel i5 processor and os lion installed, it was perfectly running until today it wont start or rather get past the initial apple sreen with the spinning gear. yesterday i connected an external usb drive 1tb to use as backup disk and store my songs for itunes. today i cant use it , ihave tried safe mode booting , pressing command, option , p and r keys during startup, removing the power cord then reattaching it. anybody have a solution.

i use some minimacs with automatic boot every day. But one dosn't start yesterday. it is blocked. I started manually and woked again. What is the cause? solution?
Can be a power supply fail ? on/off in few secons?
there is any update solution or option to put of this kind of protection?
i haven't acess to the minimac every time that this happend...

However maybe I wasn't very clear about what I was asking.
My Mini has only Windows 7 installed on it and I'm not trying to get OS X installed.
I know I could auto boot at a specific time if I had OS X installed and this maybe my only option, but it needs only Windows 7 on the Mini.
I was wondering if there is a way to auto boot the Mini without OS X. I can do this with a regular PC BIOS, but was wondering if there is a solution for Windows 7 on a Mini.
So really this isn't a Mac Mini question but a Bootcamp/Windows problem.

Screen wont work with the nokia 5530

I basically turn on my phone and then screen is not touchable anymore and message comes up with ' 2 new messages' and i try to show it but i cant because the touch screen is not working. It just happened randomly and i only got this phone at Christmas. I dont know why it has started doing this and the only app that works is camera and the middle button that looks like a dash at the bottom of the phone with the red and green button thats all that is working. i was trying to see if there is a way i can fix this problem or can i take it back to carphone warehouse and get a new one?

first turn off your phone and pull out the battery for at least 5 minutes. Put it together and turn it on. Does it work?
if not - try to boot it without the memory card and see if it works...
It might be a software issue, or it could might be a hardware issue with some loose connection. - If that's the case only a Nokia care point can fix this. - I dont think CPW will give you a new phone the first time. - I would guess they would send it in to repair, or firstly the would probably try to reset it...
