Help!!! My Macbook wont turn on!!!

Hi, I just got Macbook yesterday, all working well. I dont know anything about Macs because this is my first machine... was using windows before.
Well today, after going on it, I shut it down and went up but later tried turning it on... nothing happens...
Batteries fully charged and when I close screen, sleeping indicator lights turns on...
I dont have time fixing this as I got to go back to Uni... dam Windows would be much easier...

Now, when you say it won't turn on, do you mean it won't boot at all?
Because my MacBook sometimes will try to boot up, and then after like 2 sreconds it shuts back down. Now how I fix this problem is I have to hold down my power button until the light on the front starts blinking, then it will stop and a high pitch noise will come on for about five seconds, after that the laptop boots. It does boot in single core, which will make the laptop a little bit slower, but it will still run very smoothly.

Hi everyone, first of all sorry to seem like an attention whore in the subject but i'm desperate!
Today i went to turn on my macbook to finish a music assignment, when i found out it wouldn't turn on.
Now when i say it wouldn't turn on, i'll need to go into a bit of detail;
It makes sounds as if it's on (Humming).
It has one green light on down the left side.
The screen stays completely black, nothing.
When i plug the charger in, nothing.
I took the cover off the back, and i can hear the hard drive make all sorts of sounds as if it's booting up and shutting down.
Now i fear i may have spilt water somewhere near the laptop today (i was using it this morning fine), and when i opened up the back compartment it was damp, with clear signs of water.
So far i've only FRANTICLY tried everything i can physically do like messing around with buttons (i can't imagine that would do anything), and briefly tried to dry the inside with a hair dryer on low from a distance.
Since then it has stopped making noises entirely, but the green light remains on.
Now it is sitting on a bed of dry rice in a desperate attempt to suck the moisture out (if that is infact the problem).
I'm 99% sure it's water damage of some kind, but i can't be sure (1%!)
So please if anyone has any idea what may be going on, PLEASE HELP!

Unfortunately you may have to wait until the water has dried on the components before using it again. Water may cause a short on running components. As long as it isn't running and it dries out it should be fine. In the future never leave any food or drink near your computer. My college lab would not allow anyone who did use the computers at the lab again.

One day I deleted some files from my hardrive on my macbook. Then I saw that it was running slow so I restarted it. Once I restarted it it turned on but then it showed a white screen after the startup sound.It lasted forever. I was very concerned.My macbook still does the same thing to this day and i need help to fix it so please help.

Hi people, so things arent looking good. The laptop wouldnt even recognize the install disks and firewire link up also failed. Things have gone Seriously wrong!!!!
The next step is to seek out DATA RECOVERY specialist who can hopefully get me some of my data back....
Then applecare will of course swap the bad drive for a new one... But first i want to try everything to recover any data.
CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A TRIED AND TESTED DATA RECOVERY SPECIALIST here in the UK ? The internet is packed with options, but i want someone i can TRUST!
your recommendations would be really appreciated.

I went to turn on my white 2009 macbook unibody and nothing... It's like it's dead to the world. It will charge when I plug the charger in but I can't get it to do anything when I hold the power button down. This computer is my lifeline to friends and family back home and iI cant afford a new one right now. Hope someone can give me some advice on what might be wrong. If that has no effect, then your only recourse is to take your machine to your local Apple Store/AASP and have them run diagnostics on the machine.

MACBOOK WONT TURN ON!! PLEASE HELP!

MacBook which is supplied through my school and wont turn on at all, it justs shows the grey screen and the beachball spinning around for hours. It is and was fully charged. I took it to the IT guys and they said it can not be backed up at all due to it not turning on, but I heard they can take the main "motherboard" out and display it on another screen so that I can then back up all my photos and music? ALL photos from overseas and from the last TWO years are on there and I need it to be backed up!! Any suggestions on what I can do or WHERE I can take it? I live in Australia.

See this Apple note on steps to take when faced with a grey screen on boot.
Taking the logic board out to hook up to another system has nothing to do with the data stored on your hard drive. It's possible they were talking about removing the hard drive to hook up to another system.
After you get past this issue, consider buying an external hard drive and backing up your system on a regular basis.

Macbook wont turn off completely!!!!!

Every time a use the macbook pro with the batery and try to turn it off it doesn't do that completely.
If I close the screen the light indicator is still on. I try to turn it on again it wont turn. Then I press the power button for a few seconds, the system starts but and error message "THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN CLOSE UNEXPECTEDLY" (el sistema se ha cerrado inesperadamente).
Whats wrong? is a batery problem?
Do I have to reinstal leopard?

I have the same problem. It doesn't matter if the power is plugged in or not. Please help me decide if it's a software bug or a hardware issue. This crash happens eveytime I try to turn off the computer.

I got the ipod on christmas and transfed over 500 songs and photos. (by the way its the new 30GBvideo) and it was working fine, then my uncle got me the iBlast and it worked good, then i went 2 my friends house and i was raining, it gota lil wet but it was fine. i got 2 my friends house and it froze then i reset it and now it wont turn on, i left it on overnight and it been like a day and i wont turn on its so kool and i want it 2 work somebody please help me

I had a problem with the N8 from the first day I bought it, it just switches off and then ON with a blank white screen.
and recently when it does that It's difficult to switch it on again. I press the power button for about 8s and it vibrates three times, but when I switch it on again it shows the white screen. I've been trying to switch the phone on for about 30 minutes and its irritating. I really wish I could change this phone. It has also become really slow with all the games i've installed.
