Help!  my new HTC drops calls constantly...

I just got this phone a few weeks ago and it is constantly dropping calls at my home.  My previous old basic phone never dropped calls here.  I have updated the phone several times and it hasn't helped.  My husband got a G'ozone and it is doing the same thing.  I am thinking we should have gotten iphones instead of droids.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any suggestions?  Also, I am wondering if there is a time frame where you can return a new phone and get something else?

    Hi kiz,
I also have the Galaxy S3 and I have not experienced any issues with calls. I want you to have the same experience! As indicated by Ann154 (thank you!), the coverage in your area may have something to do with the quality of your calls. Please provide us with your ZIP code and we'll check the type of coverage in your area. We can also replace the SIM card to ensure that this issue is not SIM card related. If you have not requested a SIM card replacement yet, please follow me and send me a DM with your account number and I will follow up with you to order a SIM card replacement.

  • Dropped calls constantly on 4G with my HTC One Android

HiI have been a 3G Orange customer for years with only a few problems with the service provided when it came to calls made or received. I work in both central London and Norwich and regularly travel. The problems started when I moved to EE 4g network this spring 2015.  Since then in the same locations where I could make clear 3G calls I now have very low and fluctuating 4G signal on my HTC One. Furthermore, the incidence of dropped calls has increased to almost all of the calls I receive or instigate. I called EE customer service two months ago and they said that a mast was being fixed and that things should improve in my Norwich area - I think this is a standard delay tactic that the helpdesk has been told to say.  The dropped calls and poor reliability and signal problem follows me everywhere I go and nothing has changed.   Dropped calls occur in London and in Norwich and everywhere inbetween since I moved to 4G. My question to the community is - Should I ask EE to revert me back to 3G to improve call quality?  Thanks

    Hi
    Great Info
As  suggested it may be worth turning the device to 2G/3G to see if you experience the same issues with dropped calls.
Let me know how you get on.
    Thanks.

  • Since upgrading OS last week, my phone is dropping calls constantly and connections are awful!  Any correlation?  How can I fix it??

After upgrading to the latest OS a few days ago, both my husband and I are experiencing bad connections and dropped calls after a few seconds.  Not sure if the problem is related to the upgrade or not but ready to toss my phone and go Droid if I can't get this fixed

  • Drops calls constantly

Have 2 Lg G2's.  The one that I use is now cutting up conversations then completly dropping calls.  I sent my phone to lg to fix thinking it was a hardware issue and had it reset in the process still have the issue.  Thought it was my sim card and had it changed but still have the same issue.  Wifes G2 still works wonderfully in the exact locations that I lose phone calls.  Just completly lost on what else I can do to actually have a phone that can make phone calls.

        snawznet,
Thank you for completing all of that troubleshooting already! Have you tried disabling the Advanced Calling feature yet? Have you tested in safe mode without any third party applications running?  http://vz.to/1rJByAo.

  • HELP!  iPhone 5 Dropping Calls

I just switched from an HTC Rezound to an iPhone 5. The device is brilliant in almost all respects....the problem is that it is terrible at what it was designed to do; make phone calls. Although my rezound worked flawlessly, the iphone has dropped every call I have made with LTE activated, and around half of the calls I have made on the 3g network with LTE turned off.
I have already tried a factory reset of the network settings and taking out and putting in the sim card. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.

Dailykosak, I regret to see that your iPhone 5 isn't performing as well voice-wise as your Rezound. Dropping every call is definitely excessive. Is this happening in a specific location or everywhere you use your phone? What zip code are you located in? Is the signal low as well? If you're within your 14 day worry free guarantee, I would recommend exchanging for another iPhone 5. Different phones will connect to the network differently, but dropping every single call is definitely a problem and possibly an issue with the hardware.

  • Need help with new defective cosmos2

I went to a Verizon store and was talked into upgrading to another phone a cosmos2 even though my old phone worked fine it was just that my 2 yr upgrade was overdue. Well the new phone drops calls constantly and gets no more than 2 bars, it gets very hot and the battery dies very quickly also a beep comes through the earpiece every 10 seconds or so and people say my voice is muffled. I went back to the store and was told to call warranty for a refurbushed replacement not even a new phone. Now after going to 4 different stores  and no matter how many times they do a master reset its not going to fix it. This phone was defective from day one. I have now reactivated my old phone again. Do I have to settle for a refurbushed phone after spending $90???

You have 14 days to get a NEW replacement phone or to return the phone and revert back to your previous status.  Did these problems occur after 14 days?
You state you were "talked into" upgrading... although salesmen can be quite persuasive, ultimately, YOU made the decision to upgrade.  My husband has an old LG VX 5400 that he will use until it dies, and then use my old one that we kept until IT dies, because he likes it, it works, and he has no interest in a new phone at this point.  HE will decide when to upgrade....
And if it is more than 14 days, then yes, you do have to "settle" for a refurbished phone after spending $90 (for a phone that would normally cost $200 +)

  • IPhone 3G Dropped Calls

What was once an annoyance is now intolerable. My iPhone is all but useless as a phone. I drop calls constantly even with 5 bars and sitting in place. I've updated software, rebooted phone etc. Any thing else I can try?

What part of Europe are you in? Is 3G coverage fairly comprehensive where you are?
Do you have the 2.1 update installed? If so, and you have adequate reception and are still dropping calls excessively, I would probably try swapping out for a new iPhone.
If you don't have adequate 3G reception while on the move (i.e., driving) throughout your city/region, I'd recommend turning off 3G. With the exception of Asia, clearly 3G is still a burgeoning technology in most parts of the world.
In the language of audiophiles, it's simply not "perfect sound forever." Yet.
When Apple gives the advice to "turn off 3G" I'm sure they do so with a great deal of regret and frustration. On one hand, they obviously failed to do their due diligence as to how millions of these devices would interact with at&t's towers, out in the actual world.
On the other hand, I do believe they've produced a great product. When I'm in a 3G saturated area, the phone does everything it's supposed to.
Finally, a personal anecdote. A buddy of mine is also on at&t Wireless, and while working on the east coast a month ago, bought an AT&T Tilt. As the negative press about the iPhone 3g was piling up, I was getting merciless teasing from him about how I should've gone with a "serious device," rather than a toy.
Long story short, when he got back in town a few weeks ago, we had drinks at a bar over in Culver City. When we compared reception, we both had three bars of 3G. Last weekend, post 2.1, we got together at the same place. Of course, he still had his three bars. I had five.

  • Dropped calls after update

Ever since the recent update, my phone drops calls constantly. Also when I make a call, I can hear the person but they cannot hear me. I hang up and call again and then everything is fine.
Soooo frustrating I am ready to hurl the phone at the wall!

Same issue with me and most folks I talked to.
Seems that after upgrading to iOS 4 on my Gs and as well as now on my G4 dropped calls all the time.
Even 3G coverage keeps dropped. I've called ATT and they said there is no difference in their coverage in the area.
It's so frustrating after having good service for years and then after signing a new 2 year contract having a brick most of the time.
BTB, messages arrive hours later as well!

  • Dropped calls - Not 'death grip related'

So, my iPhone 4 running iOS 4.1 drops calls constantly. I tested a couple of things so I could narrow down the problem. I know its not iPhone 4 related, because my 3G had the same problem. I believe it started happening after I updated to 4.0.1. When I bought my iPhone 4 the same problem continued. It seems to be related to data usage. If I'm on wifi, or I disable data, the calls won't drop at all. Anyone having this problem?

I'm having the very same problem.  My iPhone 5 running 8.1.1 is now a bit sluggish at times, particularly when first turned on.  Now today Safari keeps crashing.  I've cleared the cache and restarted the phone, but no luck.

  • Droid dropping calls!

This phone is horrible!! It drops call constantly. I cannot finish a conversation. What is Verizon doing about this? I have called and called. They have opened Trouble Tickets and nothing!! Yet I see so many having the same issue. Has anyone found a fix for this??

I've had my Charge for around 5 months and I'd say it has dropped a call maybe 4 times total.  And those were all in bad signal areas.

  • Since i got the new Iphone 4s it constantly drops calls. Apple have replaced the phone with another new iphone 4s but i am still having the same problem. I have checked with vodapohe that there is no issue from there end, given a new sim, still drops out

  • We used to have great service, now it sucks! Constantly dropping calls, dead areas that have never been dead. Getting fed up and getting no help from Verizon.

This is really getting old, no help from Verizon. Service was great 2 years ago now it sucks, Constantly dropping calls, dead areas where there used to be fine. What is verison doing to help this???

I have an iphone 5s, my husband has a casio, my sister in law has a Samsung, my friends have various phones we are all experiencing the same thing – dropped calls, no service and it is outside as well as inside the house or the car. At our residence and along the drive to work or to the store. I don’t text much or use my data much so I am mostly concerned with the telephone service.

  • Iphone 4s drops calls in new house! help!

I just upgraded to a iphone 4s around easter 2012 after my iphone 4 had water damage, anyway I just moved to myrtle beach, SC and in my house my iphone drops my calls 95% of the time!! It is REALLY frustrating and there is NO apple store remotely close to this area. I havent had any issues of dropped calls outside my house. The annoying this is that my mom has a blackberry and she never had a dropped call. I did *228 to improve my signal and reset my phone multiple times. If I go to verizon they probably wont do anything. I have from 1-3 bars in my house at any time, does anyone have any suggestions?
I cannot cancel verizon because I just started my contract this past Easter 2012.
My only other option is to buy a samsung galaxy nexus 4g on craigslist and keep my iphone as a back up (i wont sell my iphone)

I have the very same issue on Iphone 5 IOS 7.1, original Apple earbuds. Sometimes Music starts, sometimes SIRI kick in, in any case the calls get dropped ! I disabled SIRI, I cannot find a way to disable music. Anyway, when scroling the oen applications, Music is not one of them !
It i making the phone unusable (it is supposed to be a business phone) - pure $700 TRASH.
