The music I have purchased on my IPod is not showing up on my Itunes account on my computer, I went to the itunes store on my computer and went to see if I could download a song i previously purchased, but it was going to have me pay again. I have about a hundred songs missing on my computers itunes. It won't let me sync my ipod to it anymore and when I tried to update the software it wouldn't let me. I am completely at a standstill with this.

Then you're doing something wrong.  Are you signed in with the same Apple ID on the computer that the content was purchased with?
Did you check the purchase history?

    Why?

  • My iPod will not show up in the Itunes device list plus I get an error message

    Hello!
My iPod will not show up in the Itunes device list plus I get an error message
" One or more devices is getting too much power from the USB wire" or sumptin like that.
I've tried this with two wires, so the problem is not there.
I reseted the iPod to factory settings but it didn't help.
    Anyone??

  • I have just bought an iPod Nano to replace my previous one which died, when I open my iTunes it does not show the new iPod, and refuses to allow me to sync my existing library, the new iPod does not show in my computer only on devices, any suggestions ?

Question: I have just bought an iPod Nano to replace my previous one which "died" My computer does not recognize the new iPod and only shows it in devices and printers. I cannot sync my existing iTunes to the new iPod, there is no way I can do it. Any help please?

    Hey there longislandmacca,
It sounds like your iPod is not recognized in either Explorer, or in iTunes on your PC. That can be frustrating, expecially when its a new device. I recommend you use the following article to help resolve that issue named:

  • My iPod will not show up on my iTunes following the newest update, yet says its up to date on software?

Recently my iTunes has updated to the latest version on my PC (a Windows 7), and although ios7 is recommended, my iPod tells me that it is up to date with the 6.1.6 it is currently running. It does not show ios7 to download at all, merely says it is up to date on its software. When I try and plug the iPod in to my PC with a USB cable to sync new music to it, it doesn't even register as being there at all. No device option is in the drop-down file box nor does it show next to the music, video and etc icons. I tried restoring my iPod to the cloud and that worked just fine, tried restarting both devices and replugging in the USB, but nothing seems to be working. No matter what I've tried from the FAQ, my iPod is not showing up or registering to sync. It worked perfectly fine before iTunes updated and any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The 4G can only go to 6.1.6. It hardware does not support a higher version

  • Ipod will not show up after reinstalling itunes

    Hi all,
I just replaced my hard drive and of course I lost my itunes library. After reinstalling itunes onto a new drive (Win XP), and attaching my ipod, my ipod does not show up. Itunes finds new hardware and brings up the library, but that's all. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • New iPod + account not showing up on a computer that was previously used with a DIFFERENT iPod and account

I'm very new to all things Apple, but not a computer/tech newbie...it's just that all my experience and knowledge has been aquired with Windows and Android. I received an iPod Touch 5th gen as a Xmas gift, and I'm (mostly) enjoying it...but I've hit the following problem:
About a year ago, a friend used iTunes on my computer (WinXP Pro) using HIS account/Apple ID, and connected HIS iPod to my PC to "sync" (I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish, but my computer and his iPod were definitely conected via cable). He no longer needs to use my computer to access iTunes.
So, now I want to use MY iPod and iTunes account with the same computer that he used. My friend and I "authorized" my computer using my Apple ID, DE-authorized it using his, we signed him out, signed me in, (not necessarily n that order, heheh). BUT... in my iTunes library still show HIS apps, HIS books, and his iTunes-U courses. None of my apps/books/courses etc. appear in iTunes on my computer. (They ARE all on my iPod). I tried un-installing iTunes and re-installing the latest version, and that did not solve the problem.
I have heard or read, somewhere, that if I connect my iPod to a compter that has someone else's iTunes account on it, my iPod could be un-intentionally "sync'd" to that persons account, and I would lose my apps/music/etc and wind up with the other persons "stuff" on my device (I'm sure there are some subtleties to that that I'm clueless about). My hunch is that the solution lies somewhere in connecting MY new iPod to my computer, but I'm afraid of losing what I've already put on my iPod and/or messing up my friend's devices.
I appreciated you taking the time to read this; I'm hopeful the solution is simple...thanks!

Hi lllaass, thanks for your reply. Here are my results, and related follow-up questions, so far:
    lllaass wrote:
    - Make sure your computer is authorized for your iTunes account.
OK, done, AND DE-authorized for his account (tried this even before I posted).
    lllaass wrote:
    - You said your friend no longer uses your computer. Therefore just delete his media *apps, music etc) for the computer
When I highlight one of his apps (for example) and select DELETE, a pop-up window opens, warning me that the app will ALSO be deleted from any device "which syncronizes with your iTunes library". How can I be certain that this is not affecting his stuff? Is that ONLY possible if he connects one of his devices to my computer via cable? Is there NO chance that it happens via wi-fi (we share the same wi-fi connection regularly), or even via the cloud?
    lllaass wrote:
    - Redownlod your media to your iTunes library.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I followed the instructions in the link above (computer authorized, signed in under my account, & "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in iTunes preferences by going to iTunes > Preferences under the Store tab).  However,  none of MY "purchases" (all free apps, books, etc, so far) show up in the library...only my friend's. For what it's worth, when I try to open any of his books, a pop-up opens telling me that the book "can't be viewed using this computer. You can view this book using iBooks on your iOS device".
    Illaass wrote:
-Then just sync to as necessary to your iPod.
    - However, yo may have to backup the iPod to your computer and restore from that backup if the iPod sees the computer/library as a new iTunes library. The instructions are here:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
With iTunes 11 you may have to do a Control+B to show the Menu bar and a Control+S to show the Sidebar.
I have not tried these steps, given the status of the situation being unchanged so far.
Thanks again Illaass, hopefully there is another approach to try.

  • My IPod is not showing up in my Itunes, I tried my phone as well and it is not coming up either.  I have tried everything including uninstalling and reinstalling.  It worked the other day but it is not working now.  Please somebody help me!!! What to do?

    Hello,
Can someone please help me!?  I am trying to put music on my IPod and it was working the other day.  I can not get itunes to recognize my Ipod.  I have tried to unistall and reinstall Itunes.  I have tried all the steps on the site and can't get it to come up.  I tried my IPhone which was also showing up just the other day and it also is not showing in Itunes!   Please help me.  I need to be able to put music on my IPod for my work.

    I have sorted it myself!!
Ipod is now in the top right corner, last time I clicked on it, it ejected it but by clicking on the actual ipod icon then it brings up your ipod. I restored it to factory settings and synced all my music and it now works again. Hope this can help anyone who ends up with the same problem.

  • New ipod will not show in itunes.

my computer isn't very happy at the moment. it randomly unexpectedly quits when i am using photoshop or quark, or really anything. it could happen right now... it hasn't been happy since it was crashed by my friend. he reinstalled everything, but it is still being touchy. i am taking it in for healing when my mac pro arrives via the mail. well... i got a brand new ipod nano and it won't show up in itunes. i tried all the updates. nothing works. i do not have a USB 2.0, i have the card reader thing. it doesn't work anywhere. it is probably my computer, but the ipod shows up on the desktop. why won't it show in itunes?

I believe it is a Windows setting issue. Try this:
    Go to Control Panel
    Choose Display
    Choose Settings Tab
Change Screen Resolution should be at least 1024 by 768 pixels.
    Accept the change.
Then you will see the CONTINUE button.
Please let me know if this solved your problem!

  • New IPod Will not show up or charge

I just bought my new 80 gig Ipod, and installed a new usb 2.0 card. Everything works in my USB card except for my new Ipod. When I plug it in, it starts charging...then the charging icon disappears and the apple shows up but it won't turn on. There's no light or anything. I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps, and nothing works. My computer doesn't recognize my IPod being connected to it either. Do I have a bad battery?

No, I dont think you have a bad battery, but have checked with this

  • How do I get my new ipod touch to show up on my itunes page

I got an itouch for christmas yesterday, however whenever I connected it to my laptop (compaq windows) it wouldn't show up on my itunes sidebar like it should. So then I decided to download the latest version of itunes, i did that, then i downloaded icloud, (i still don't know how to create an account for that either) Anyways, ever since I opened it and connected it has had the same picture, I think it's in recovery mode but I'm not sure. Does anyone know how to help me?
that is what it has looked like since I got it, and connected to the computer. ^ ^

I returned it for a new iPod nano 2nd generation

  • New iPod will not sync song ratings with iTunes

A few months ago I bought an iPhone (my first Apple MP3 player) and loaded it up with some music and everything worked fine between it and iTunes. I would rate some songs on the iPhone and synced it up with iTunes and it transferred those song ratings over with no problems.
I later got rid of the iPhone and bought an iPod 4GB Nano and loaded it up with music but when I rated some songs and synced it up with iTunes it would not transfer the ratings over. It would transfer over the ratings fine from iTunes to the iPod but not the other way around. I removed and reinstalled iTunes and deleted the iTunes folder within the My Music folder on my computer and reloaded iTunes and imported all my music again. Restored and reset my iPod and tried again, it still will not transfer over the song ratings from iPod to iTunes.
So I figured I got a screwed up iPod (it was a refurb) and decided to go ahead and upgrade. Bought a brand new iPod 8GB Nano and the same thing is happening again. Although it's not absolutely critical to be able to rate songs it helps in getting my music library sorted in deciding what to keep or not.
Any idea what to do short of reinstalling Vista or moving my music library over to another computer to sync with?

Hi, I just sorted out this problem for my ipod touch. Jose9550 and Chris in CA did not explain very well how it is to be sorted - their posts helped me but iI sort of discovered it by accident. My main problem was that the ipod did not update itunes with my track ratings made direct with the touch screen whilst listening to tracks.
Here is how I found out how to sort it:
Step 1: Click on the option in the summary screen to manually manage the music on you Ipod. Back up any tracks/playlists that you don't want to lose.
Step 2: Create a few playlists with music that you want on Ipod
Step 3: Click on your Ipod name in Itunes side bar and then select the Music tab on the main panel on the right. Now click on the check box "Sync Music". This will bring up a prompt that all your music /playlists currently on the Ipod may be erased. Accept this message and then click on check box "Selected playlists". Now pick the playlists/playfolders you want synced. Click apply.
Step 4: Go into the menu bar in itunes and select Edit>Preferences>Devices> and uncheck box beside "Disable Automatic syncing for IPhones and IPods"
Now any changes made to the playlists/tracks etc on the desktop or IPod will be transferred in both directions.
