HELP - my Nik plug-ins (and others) no longer work in LR CC
I don't know what happened (they were there when I first started using CC), but now they are gone! I uninstalled LR CC (Mac), reinstalled -- still no go Between the presets contextual menu wiped clean off the face of the earth, my plug-ins blown away, and the less than stellar HDR and pano -- I've just about had it with LR CC
Here is a before & after screen grab of the contextual menu ("before" pic grabbed form LR 5.7, which still works as expected).
You may have watched the same tutorial that I did - recommending that you store your presets with the catalog. Apparently a bad move.
You must un-check the yellow highlighted box show below in order to see your "Edit In" choices.

Plug-ins and other things corrupting in LogicProX
I noticed that one day things started not working properly in my LogicProX. First, plug-ins would not work with an exclamation point coming up over the attempted plug-in, and I notice my fade tool seems to work sometimes and not others. I faded the end of a vocal region and it worked, and then tried to fade another vocal region and between some audio regions and it just keeps moving the regions instead of fading them! Ack! If I close down Logic and reopen, the plug-ins usually start working, but it's all getting annoying. A couple of times my program has unexpectedly quit. What is the best way to reset all of this or do I need to download the whole program again? If I download again, will my audio files and songs stay in my finder, or will they disappear? How do I best save each song to my external drive so all files travel together properly?
Thanks so much for the help.Typically, such issues are caused by your Audio device driver or CoreAudio resetting/glitching..... or some incompatibility with your current OS X version...
Update the drivers for your Audio interface, if you are using one and if it uses drivers...
Failing that... you might also want to try the recently releasedOpen Beta for Mavericks 10.9.3 which seems to fix a number of audio related problems...
https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/welcome?s=w
Understand this is a Beta release and so, as with all betas, there are risks that other bugs may occur but this one does seem very stable... based on my own experiences and reports from ther users... so you should be fine. Make sure you backup your current setup first however, to be completely safe.
The fade issue is a known problem for some users and is unrelated to your other problems i suspect. Hopefully an OS X update or Logic update will resolve this issue...
Note: Uninstalling and reinstalling LPX rarely fixes anything of note..... unless you have a major corruption of the LPX app, which in your case, is extremely unlikely given the app runs. -
In the plug -in manger when I click add the nix collection will not highlight. what am I doing rong?
If you are talking about the Nik collection, I just ran the installer provided by Google. It installed and was added to the "Edit in" menu in Lightroom and was also added to Photoshop CS6.

My Nik Efex filters are not working in Photoshop CC 2014 - they appear under plug-ins and seem to work, but after running and clicking okay, no new layer appears - seems to have no effect. The separate menu panel does not appear either. Help with this?
BINGO !!!!
Thanks so much Woodsroad. I had the exact same problem with my Dell Windows 7 64 bit with AMD Radeon 6700 Video card.
All the video tests passed with flying colors.
The sniffer rename trick fixed the problem.
Thank goodness for the internet! -
My mac is the OS X 10.8.3. I tried to update the latest Adobe flash player and kept getting 'Actionlist not found.' I have uninstalled, enabled and disabled plug-ins and am still unable to download the update and now have no flashplayer at all. Help!
PS I'm still new to Macs so the more broken down the better.Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.42 is the most recent version from Adobe. It is a pre-release version. I am using it without any noticeable problems.
The current stable version is Download 11.7.700.169. -
cannot open PDF files in safari. It tells me first character is invalid - I have deleted plug-ins and reinstalled the program.
HI..
If you are using Adobe Reader ...
Try uninstalling the current copy of Adobe Reader first.
Best to use a utility to do this to make sure all the associated files are removed as well > Download AppCleaner for Mac - Uninstall your apps easily. MacUpdate.com
Then reinstall > http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. -
I installed Lion and now seem to have problems with Microsoft Silverlight and other plug ins and applications. I haven't ever used time machine to back up (my bad I know). Is there a way to go back to snow leopard with messing up all my files and my set?
Are you using the latest version of Silverkeeper? - v.2.0.2 is stated to be compatible with Snow Leopard.
http://www.lacie.com/silverkeeper/
If it's messing things up you could try asking LaCie Support for assistance. -
My problem is unique to the Firefox browser, and does not occur with Opera or IE.
Way too often (about once a minute or so), Firefox will suffer a brief pause in performing functions, even simple ones.
It is impossible for me to watch any video in Firefox without the picture pausing periodically. Oftentimes, text I type suffers a delay before appearing in a web form. Mouse scrolling is not very dependable at all.
I have disabled or uninstalled most of my plug-ins and add-ons, yet the problem still persists. I have attempted to streamline to only the most necessary plug-ins, but to no avail.
I love Firefox, but I don't like the choppy videos or downgrading of my productivity these problems are causing. My problem is unique to the Firefox browser, and does not occur with Opera or IE.

Why are frame sizes increasing after editing with Nik plug-ins?
I’m using the Nik Collection of plug-ins with Aperture, and have discovered that the frame size of the resulting edits always end up larger than the original - sometimes much larger.
The original image starts as 4592 x 3448 but after editing, the longest side of the resulting image is typically over 5000, 6000 or even 7000 pixels.
I recently worked on a cropped image that started at 4138 x 2759 and ended up at 7361 x 4908, after editing with a combination of Dfine, Viveza, Color Efex + Silver Efex. If I export a version during the editing process, and then carry out futher editing, the frame size increases again.
I’m exporting from Aperture using the TIFF - Original Size (16 bit) setting.
Can anyone tell me what’s going on here? I’m concerned that the quality of the images is being compromised by the enlargement.
I'm using the latest set of Nik plug-ins, with Aperture 3.2.4 on a MBP running 10.6.8Keli
In order to open Aperture in 32-bit mode by default you can right-click on the application icon, select "Get Info" and check the box marked "Open In 32-bit Mode" (or you can continue to run it by default in 64-bit mode and just get forced to re-open the app anytime you need to use plug-ins that can only run in 32-bit mode).
hope this helps!

I was recording a song, finished it and everything went alright. Then I wanted to start with the recording of a new song. With the SAME plug-ins and settings as in the song before. I could record it all, but then, logic started crashing! Now, Logic crashes everytime I open up the new song as soon as I press play. But when I open up the older song, everything works just fine. I can press play without any problems, do things here and there... typical Logic stuff. So, it has to do with my new project! But why? I mean, I'm using everything the same way in both projects. Literally everything!
Now, here's one of my crash reports... please help. Please. Thanks in advance!

3rd party plug-ins and PS4 16-bit
I have Vista 64-bit installed as my OS. I installed PS4 which automatically installed as a 64-bit version. I attempted to install my Kodak Pro/Roc/Sho/Air plug ins, but they don't appear in the filter menu. I have never had a problem with this issue when it was still 32-bit and I don't know where to go from here. I've talked to Kodak, but after trying to sort it out with them, they decided they didn't want to help anymore, so . . . here I am, and here's the problem expounded.
Photoshop is in my file list twice. Here's the path:
c/program files/adobe/adobe photoshop cs4/plugins
and here's the second path:
c/program files x86/adobe/adobe photoshop cs4/plug-ins
As you can see, adobe has installed itself in both places, the program files folder and the program files x86 folder. I'm assuming it has something to do with the 64-bit version.
I have tried installing the plug-ins following Kodak's instructions. That didn't work. I tried installing them in both plug-in folders and that didn't work either. I'm at a loss and would appreciate any (highly specific) answers anyone with intimate knowledge of this issue may have. If you're only guessing, please don't waste your time or mine posting to this topic.
Thank you in advance for any assistance. You should try to be more accurate in your descriptions. Your question is full of errors, though most of them can be understood.
There's no such thing as a 64 bit PS4. There's PS CS4 and there's PS 4.0. I think you
mean PS CS4.
What does "16-bit" have to do with anything? There are 32 bit plug-ins and there
are 64-bit plug-ins. 32 bit plug-ins only work with 32 bit Photoshop, and
64 bit plug-ins only work with 64 bit Photoshop.
You said it automatically installed as a 64-bit version. In reality, PS CS4 automatically
installs in BOTH 32 and 64 bit variants, so you can maintain compatibility with older
plug-ins. You will specifically need to run the 32 bit Photoshop CS4 in order to
use your older 32 bit plug-ins.
There is no such path as
c/program files x86/adobe/adobe photoshop cs4/plugins.
What you probably mean is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins
which is the 32 bit area into which to install plug-ins for PS CS4.
I'm sorry to sound overly picky, but details matter with computers.
As MTSTUNER has said:
C:\Program Files (x86)\... is the install area for 32 bit apps.
You need to run the 32 bit Photoshop to access your 32 bit plug-ins.

Integrating Nik plug-ins into an Aperture workflow
Hi. In his response to a [posted question|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2746051&tstart=0] about noise reduction, forum guru William Lloyd spoke highly of the Nik plug-ins.
I also like them alot, but have stopped using them and don't recommend them because they do not integrate into my Aperture workflow in any usable way. The suite of plug-ins (there are six, iirc) are designed to be used step-wise -- and therein lies the problem. Because of what I take to be a glitch in Aperture, any changes made within Aperture to an image edited and returned by a plug-in are lost when that image is sent back out to another plug-in. (The work-around is klugly: you have to create a new Version prior to every use of a plug-in other than the first use.)
I love the Nik tools (and paid dear for them), but haven't been able to find the right place for them on my workbench. William -- or anyone -- how have you integrated the Nik plug-ins into your Aperture workflow?
I am considering "upgrading" my Nik suite to the Photoshop edition in order to take advantage of all the tools. I'm pretty sure used w. Photoshop, the tools create editable layers. The upgrade, however, doubles the already expensive cost of the suite (and the Aperture→Photoshop→Nik→Photoshop→Nik→Photoshop→Nik→Photoshop→Aperture trip is sure to be cumbersome).
My goal is simple: to be able to take full advantage of the Nik tools while taking full advantage of Aperture. Any advice greatly appreciated.
TIA, and cheers.Hi. In his response to a [posted question|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2746051&tstart=0] about noise reduction, forum guru William Lloyd spoke highly of the Nik plug-ins.
