unfortunately I'm Italian and I do not speak English, and most importantly
I'm not a genius in the world of computing. In fact, if you talks to me
about preferences folder User id and I do not even know where to look ....
why has crashed in your opinion? I was creating patterns with low
resolutions. It can if you have the time and patience to help me understand
where look the folder and what to do in a primitive language so that an
incompetent like me can understand.

We can't know. You have not told us what exactly the problem is. If there are any warnings, you need to provide them along with other info like the crash logs. If not you have to explain the situation in more detail. Just saying that it doesn't work anymore is not particularly useful.

Yes:
Step 1: Delete the preview cache.
That's it!
So, the trick is to find the preview cache.
This document gives location:

To be clear: it's a folder in with your catalog and you want to delete the whole folder but nothing else.
If your catalog file path is "X:\My Catalogs\My Catalog.lrcat", then the preview cache "folder" will be:
X:\My Catalogs\My Catalog Previews.lrdata
So the trick is to find your catalog file, and since Lr won't open your catalog and run, you can't use it to find out.
But you should be able to find it by searching your disks for *.lrcat files - do you know how to do that?
Which OS?
If you know the name of the catalog it will help, but also: it's probably NOT in with your program files.
UPDATE: The above-mentioned document gives default name and location for preview cache, so if you haven't overridden the default, it should be right where that document said it would be - is it? (of course you need to know your user name too, but presumably you do, no?).

Today my IPad has crashed with this text at the top of the screen - it keeps rebooting bu won't go any further past this piece of text.
The full error text shown is:

JayneHave you tried resetting it? I.e. Hold down the sleep/wake button and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo appear, then release them and see if the iPad will startup okay.

Just installed Lion and the Magic TrackPad and I am having a problem with one click commands. I have to hit the pad fairly hard with one finger to get it to accept the command. Is this normal, is there another way that I am suppose to execute commands?
No you just need to turn on Tap to Click. Go into System Preferences - Trackpad and click the Point to Click tab and select the first box which will say Tap to Click and you should be in business.

We produce television spots and I am generally SO happy with the Adobe CS suite and Premeire since we moved from Final Cut Pro. There are some gotchas i would like to see repaired but lately we are crashing too often and we keep getting this error.

I have a Macbook 2006 with 10.6 snow leopard installed. I was wondering if i could get EA's origin download and sims 3 the game? The laptop has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
Unfortunately no, I have e exact same problem. Our ancient laptops are to the full extent of upgrading available for its time..., I'm trying to find an older version of origin to download to my Mac at the moment... Take my email if you want and if I come across anything ill send you the link. The only other thing I can think of is to upgrade the entire Mac software to the newest version but that includes wiping out the entire system and hard drive and locating the software disc to do that and I'm not even sure if it will process all of that information since apple conciders our laptops "vintage" there's no way to go back because they don't support the software for these older ones anymore.

Help alternating find and changebylist.jsx script that comes with CC samples
i did alternate the same vbs script to suit my needs and i was happy about it (likeChild when you give him his favourite toy) but i run in som problems with it....when i copy and place the vbs script on other computer i want it to use it invokes CS6 instead of CC...i tried everything i could think of but no luck...same thing happens every time i try to use it open CS6 instead CC in which i run it...on the computer i did write it the script run like charm(on both computers i have CS6 and CC)....so i decided to use the jsx version of same script....
then when i try that script:
1. the dialog box is opening only when my cursor is in textframe allowing me to select what i want to change 1.document 2.selected story. 3 selection
2. when i select 2 text frames and on document i have 3 or more the script does not change in 2 selected frames instead it does in all frames
i need to alternate this script
when i select text frame to open dialogbox allowing me to pick 2 of 3 above mentioned options the number 2 and 3
so it do the find and change only in text frames i selected (when it is selected with selection tool) not in all frames
i tried to do that my self but im kinda short of knowledge

CS6 has problems with Cannon .mxf files that CS5 plays fine
On CS6 there are occational visual glitches that resembles DV drop out. A 1 hr spanned clip has audio going out of synch, audio length not matching video lenth.

The same clips copied from the same flash card to a CS5 system plays without visual or audio glitches.

Any clue to why CS6 is having issues with the same footage CS5 is working beautifully with?I also use the XF100 and have just about the same system setup as you (24GB RAM, Core i7 2600). I have not observed any video glitches, but it doesn't mean I don't have them. I just finished my first big shoot using two XF100's and I'm going to edit in CS6, so you have me a little concerned.
Could you describe the issue more? Does it happen at the clip breaks? How can you tell the audio doesn't match video length? Are they different lengths on the timeline? It could be that it's the conformed audio file.
How are you pulling in the video? I've found that if I allow CS6 to interpet the spanned video as a single clip, it will conform the audio and it takes forever. I have found it much more productive to just copy the individual MXF files to my system, and only the MXF files. Then import them as assets and PPr will not conform the audio, it will just create PEK files for the audio waveforms. I then select all the separate ~2GB clips and drag them to the timeline and they play fine. For the multicam, I'll just bring in the first MXF file from each camera, sync them by timecode, then bring in the rest of camera "A" and the rest of camera "B". Again, I haven't observed any issues, but it doesn't mean there aren't any. -
Firefox tries to run, mac says name too long. It will run only when mounted but will not run from Applications. It refuses to delete and stays in trash, must use combinations of DropNuke2 and Trash to get it to delete I think! Then when trying to put any other version of Firefox in Applications, Finder states name already exists then refuses to move the Firefox application to APplications! Never had problems with Firefox until installed the stupid beta 4 ver 6!
It turns out that there's something wrong about permissions.
Here's the fix:
(1) log in as the +root user+
(2) type +chown -R Michael:staff ~Michael+
(3) log out the +root user+
(4) log in your account
(5) done!

Firefox crashes when I click help troubleshoot information, and it's not sending crash reports.
Firefox crashes when I click help > troubleshoot information. It's also not sending crash reports. I really can't be any more specific or straightforward than I am being right now. I have reinstalled multiple times. I've tried the same thing in safe mode. Cache and history and cookies are cleared. Hardware Acceleration is disabled. All of it.
Computer's clean, and this is my second clean uninstall and re-install of Firefox tonight.
I'm not having this problem with Chrome. -
HELP: my daughter's refurbished G4 iMac has died with an important essay
My daughter was finishing her essay on Thomas Jefferson when the screen on her flat panel G4 (refurbished) went grey and a little camera-like icon appeared with a boxed happy mac and a flashing question mark. if you have another mac close by (borrow a laptop if you don't) and a firewire cable maybe you can boot in target disc mode and retrieve the files. again----maybe.
