  • Playbook is dead with a blinking red light

My playbook went dead and does not come back even if I charge it for 24h.
If I push the start bottom a blinking red light come up. I try to re-boot it pushing all bottoms and does not work.
Also I have tried to dowload new software through my laptop but never complete it and get stuck in the middle.
    Any idea anyone???
    Thanks,

Many others have had this problem - first thing to do is check to make sure your are using the charger that came with your PlayBook. Also check the threads at the top of forum for oft-asked questions. For your convenience here is a link that might help. Good luck.

  • Help iphone 4S went dead, no drop, no water. Docked to pc and came up w/ error that it could not be restored

Help iphone 4S went dead, I did not drop it, docked to PC and error came up that it can't be restored

    Hi
I followed this guy's instructions and it worked:
    http://evsiphone.blogspot.com/2009/05/iphone-iphone-could-not-be-restored.html
I did disable the security (AVG and Zone Alarm) when I tried on my own PC. My wife's laptop which eventually got it working also uses AVG and Zone Alarm but on an XP O/S whereas my PC is Vista - maybe this is why.
    Cheers for you help.

  • How to gain access to "what's new in Leopard" etc since HELP in OS is dead

Since the links in my Apple HELP seem to be dead in spite of trying all of the suggestions here on the board (and apparently I'm not alone - others are having problems with Apple HELP as well), does anybody have an alternative way I can gain access to these links?
I just got my Mac and was hoping to sit down and take a little tour, et al to become acquainted with new features, etc. of this newest of Apple's OS. Suggestions?

I have no idea what is wrong. If, instead of typing something in the Search box, you simply click the Mac Help link below the search box does the Help viewer launch? If not, what message do you see in the Console?
Since the stuff is all written in perfectly normal html, it used to be relatively easy to browse the help files with Safari. That is no longer the case, since they has seen fit to make all the links some weirdo thing that automatically opens the Help Viewer. However, all the pages are actually here:
    "/Library/Documentation/Help/MacHelp.help"
Control click and select "Show Package Contents" then open the Contents folder, the Resources folder and English.lproj folder. All the html pages are in there, and each one will open when double clicked in Safari. However because the links specify something strange, clicking on one opens the page in Help Viewer rather than Safari. It is possible to figure out what is where, but it isn't easy and it isn't convenient. You would be better off to just browse Apple's web site, starting here:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/
Personally, I find the new Help more annoying that helpful anyway--the Help window is programmed to always stay on top, thus making it impossible to work back and forth between it and whatever you are doing, unless you have two monitors and can move it to the second monitor.

  • Could I have some help identifying and fixing dead/stuck/hot pixel?

Hello, yesterday whilst watching a movie on my Macbook Pro I noticed something on my screen, at first I thought it was just something stuck on the screen but it seems to be an issue with a pixel. I would appreciate help regarding identifying if it's a dead, stuck or hot pixel and any ways of fixing it. It seems to be smaller than what I had previously experienced (on other machines) dead/hot/stuck pixels to be and I can't really tell if it's white or a light blue. It doesn't show up on any colour other than greys and blacks.
Also, is it likely that taking it to an apple store will yield results if it's still in warranty and I explain that as a photographer it's a very annoying thing to have on almost the centre of the screen.
I hope you guys can provide me with some help, it will be much appreciated.
    Stefano.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's a dead pixel or it may be dust, too. In both cases, as your computer is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller and you should get the display replaced for free, even if it's only one pixel.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's dust. I have seen a lot of cases related to dust in this forum, but it has got the same solution as the dead pixel

  • Need Help, Quicktime created a "dead end"

Hello everyone. I need some help. I filmed some stuff with photo booth, and have a bunch of .movs. I threw them together and edited them using Quicktime Pro. I assembled them into a little video. I saved it and everything. Then I closed Quicktime, and went to the file to check it with quicklook. When I click on the file, even just a single click to see info in the finder, it won't open, and then finder restarts. It just stops, and restarts. I can't get to my movie, and even if I try to open it with quicktime, quicktime exits out on me. What the **** is happening? my movie is a dead end, i can't get it to do anything except for kill applications. I've never seen anything like this before, and this is not the first time I have thrown a movie together with this quicktime editing method. please, someone help me? thank you very much, everyone.

Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them before? I am really perplexed, and I really need this video for something. Someone, please help me out here.

  • Help, My Nano is Dead

I was working out last night and sweat got on my nano and froze it. At first the screen froze, then it had the dead battery logo on the screen, then the apple logo appeared. All without me touching it at all. Then I tried to plug it in to my computer. Nothing happened. I tried to reset the nano. All that happened was the apple logo disappeared. I kept trying it and the screen would light up and then go away. This happened a few times. Since the last time the screen temporarily lit up, it has been dead ever since. I plug it in and nothing happens. I can't do any of the steps the website suggests. Am I completely screwed? Someone please help. Oh by the way, I bought this as a refurbished model.
    Dell   Windows XP

seems to me that your poor poor nano died becuase the sweat caused a short somewhere inside. Where did the sweat land?
    btw welcome to the forums

    Hi all,
please help me..my iphone4(latest ios 7.2 i guess) is dead..i kept it in my pocket n wen i took it out to check time i found black screen..though it was charged 30%..its not getting on..i tried pressing home n sleep button..i connected it to my computer it got connected intially but was saying windows cannot recognise USB,,but now it is not doing that even..please guide me n help me fast..

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • Playbook battery dead, how to charge it?

    Hey guys.
I've been looking for all kinds of answers about it, tried the 20secs power then plug into wall outlet etc...nothing worked.
All I could do is plug my PB into my computer, and when it prompts me to update the tablet OS, as long as I don't try to do it (the download fails for some reason) the PB is still connected with a steady green light.
    So my question would be:
    - should I leave it charging this way, with a steady green light?
    - should I put it back on the power outlet for at least a few days?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, both.
And get the inexpensive Playbook magnetic rapid charger for the Playbook.

  • HELP! - iPod touch dead

    Hello everyone,
The battery of my iPod touch went down and I plug it in with my PC as usual. But it got frozen. I pressed both buttons as instructed to reboot the device. However, it is completely dead. No matter how many seconds or minutes I pressed on... Does this mean that I have to get a new one? This touch was purchase in October 2010. Just over one year. If it is dead, how do I retrieve all the information (songs, contacts, etc.) in the device?
    Thanks!

    Hi! I´m really desperate!
I have the same dead Ipod touch since yesterday, too!
My Ipod is (or should I say, was???) one of the 2. G. I started to update its firmware with Itunes (newest edition). All went o.k. until Itunes started installing the new software. Then it stopped (failure 37) and after that my Ipod was totally dead. No resetting possible, no apple sign, none of my 3 PCs could find it!!! The battery was fully loaded.
Please help, it was a christmas gift of my daughter. She´s really dissapointed!
    Thanks
    loosie
