Help! My Tour won't boot, gets stuck on loading screen.

Earlier today, while my tour was charging it randomly rebooted itself, but it wouldn't boot all the way - the load screen froze about 2/3 of the way through and then didn't do anything (for like 15 minutes) I did both a hard and soft reset, but the phone still won't boot past that point. Because it won't boot, I can't connect it to the computer to reinstall the OS or anything.

Hi there,
Unfortunately it sounds like you might have what is called a bricked or "nuked" BlackBerry.  There are ways to fix this, but it can take a couple of extra steps.
Start off by downloading the OS from your carrier to your computer.  You can find your carrier's BlackBerry download site here: http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp.  Once you've downloaded the OS for your device, install it to your computer.
Next, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and open the Loader.exe file (note: if you have a 32-bit OS, there will not be an (x86) after Program Files).  Click Next to go to the Communication Port Selection page.  Now here is where you need to watch carefully and be on the ball to ensure it works.
Take your battery out of the your BlackBerry and plug your device into your computer.  As soon as you see USB-PIN:UNKNOWN in the connection spot, click Next.  If you miss it, don't worry, just unplug the device and plug it back in again to start the boot cycle again.  Once you've made it to the next page, you should be good to go to reload the OS.  At this point in time, you can also reinsert the battery.
Then just follow the steps to reload the OS and you should be set.  As a warning though, if you have not recently backed up your device, there is a chance that you may lose the data on the device.
Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Unable to boot Z10, stuck on loading screen at 99% after a few hours.

Hi, I am unable to boot Z10, stuck on loading screen at 99% after a few hours. I did not try to update, nor load any other OS versions.  Running a Bell Canada 10.1.  Tried to pull battery, leave phone boot for 5 hours, still stuck on 99%.  I tried plugging it in BB Link and computer will not recognize it.

  • HP CP4025 getting stuck on loading screen

I have an HP CP4025 Color Laserjet printer and when i try starting it up it will get stuck on the screen with the following info on it:
    6/6 (On the Left Side)
    HP Animated Icon
    A/F (On the Right Side)
The 3 lights right below it blink in order from left to right.
I suspect it is a firmware issue but i have no way of loading new firmware from the website since the computer it is USB connected to cannot recognize it as being connected. I have tried googling this problem but cannot find anything even close to what might be causing this issue or how to resolve it. Thank you for your time and any help would be very appreciated.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having this issue also!

  • Macbook Pro won't boot. Stuck on blue screen?

Boy does my Mac have problems, ok here we go!
Originally, the display on my mac was distorted during operation and when trying to boot up, including in safe mode. Now the distortion is gone (except in safe mode), but when booting up, my Mac either gets stuck on the blue screen or, if it successfully boots up, can't handle anything more than safari without freezing up completely. I have a partition on my hard drive with Windows installed and tried booting up from that, but no luck. I've also gone in as a single user and changed the drive permissions (that worked once, but hasn't since then). I've done a hardware test and that didn't turn anything up. I can't think of anything else to try. Any ideas? I'm stumped.
    Boring details:
Macbook Pro approx. 3 years old.
    4GB 1600MHz memory
Approx 100GB free on hard drive
    OS X 10.6.8

I did that when using singe-user startup. That worked at first but not anymore. I would reinstall the OS, but I'm out of the country and without a disc.

  • Problem with internet after getting stuck at loading screen

i'm having a LOT of trouble with my computer.
earlier today, after installing avast antivirus, my macbook completely freaked out, the internet wouldn't work so i restarted. my computer was stuck at the loading screen so i spent 40 minutes on the phone with apple support, and eventually after getting it to work in safe mode, we restarted and it loaded. this was after doing a "repair disk permissions" from the utility disk.
however, now my internet is having TONS of problems. firefox & chrome won't work. in safari, only facebook and my email will load. i have restarted my router but nothing will work. i'm scared to restart my laptop in case i run into problems again and get stuck on the loading screen. thankfully apple is one of the websites that will work...
advice? i'm completely computer illiterate and have no idea what information you need to help. i just know that, as a law student, i really need internet access but none of the websites i need will load. help.
also, as a note - i don't have access to internet other than my own right now & i don't have access to any other computer right now... just this one.

earlier today, after installing avast antivirus,
Uninstall that software.  If it has an uninstaller, use it.  If not, you will have to do so manually by checking the Preferences folder for all the straggler files.  There are no viruses for osx according to Apple - http://www.apple.com/why-mac/faq/#viruses
After doing the above, repair permissions and restart your computer.

  • Macbook won't boot up stuck at white screen

My computer has been running a little slower lately and I noticed that disk space kept disappearing. I would empty trash or get rid of programs I didn't need but it will only fix it for a little while.
I was using the computer playing Angry Birds Seasons and I got a dialog box telling me I was running out of disk space and needed to free some up.
I exited all the running programs and tried to restart computer but it would not shut down. I held power button and tried to reboot that way but now I am stuck at the white apple screen with the timer circle going around and around but no boot up.
Please help. I have some documents on the mac that I don't want to lose. Is there a way to reinstall/fix this without losing my documents?

You could alway boot to your Recovery partition (Command-R on boot) and verify and repair, if needed, your hard drive. And repair permissions while your at it.
If that doesn't work, call back...

  • Lion won't boot. Stuck on gray screen

Was trying to work with HP support to troubleshoot a problem communicating with the scanner portion of an HP OfficeJet 6500a E710 bought at an Apple Store. They had me run the HP uninstaller to remove all HP software in scrub mode. They then asked to run verify disk permissions. Then reboot.
Upon reboot I get the gray screen with the spinner, and it sits there forever.
Any ideas what could be wrong or how to get around it?
I've used Command-V to get verbose output during boot. Last thing it says is that its running fsck_hfs. But I see no other messages after that. The CPU fan is spun up as if the CPU is busy.
I've booted using the recovery image and checked the disk. Everything checks out ok.
I've booted into single user mode and run fsck and fsck_hfs. Both ran fine.
I tried to startup in safe mode verbose. I let it sit for hours and after 3 hours it booted. But then I rebooted and it got stuck again.
Any suggestions appreciated. This is a machine I use for work and income. Neither of which are happening right now.
I've been trying to research how Lion starts up to see where it invokes fsck_hfs, but I haven't found any reference online to describe how Lion starts up. All references I've found refer to Tiger or earlier which has a very different boot sequence.
    Thanks

    Call Apple. Seriously.

  • Mbpr won't boot up, stuck on white screen with apple logo when I turn it on

This morning I noticed the apple logo on the outer shell of my mac was lit up, I thought this was very odd because the lid was closed and like all laptops when thier lids are shut the display ect. are supposed to switch off/go to standby?
Anyway I quickly opened the lid of my laptop to find that iconic white boot up screen with the grey apple logo and the small spinning loading circle under it
I've waited nearly 5 hours and tried multiple thing like booting up in safe mode, single user mode, and evan reinstalling OS X mavericks somebody help me please

Read this article... It recommended something you did already but there are other troubleshooting tips I'm not sure you've tried.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570
If none works, then a trip to the Apple Store is needed. It's most likely a hardware issue that you yourself cannot resolve.

  • Won't boot and stuck at white screen.

I've got a late 2009 model MacBook, and it won't start up. It shows the folder with the question mark. I've performed all tests provided by Apple in the manual, but cannot get any farther than the white screen. Takes forever to show the folder with question mark also.
    Things I've tried:
    - Reset by holding power button for 5 seconds.
When I did this, I got the apple to pop up, but after a couple of minutes it changed to a circle with a dash through it. Not sure what that meant.
    - Reset the PRAM
After this, I saw the Apple logo, then the little loading circle popped up (this went on for quite a while).
    - Hardware Test
Selected the language, and then got an alert that said "Apple Hardware Test does not support this machine." Restarted the computer and got the white      screen with the circle with a line through it.
    - Holding down the C key during startup.
Got a blank white screen. Nothing happened.
    - Rebooting into Safe Mode
Saw the Apple logo, then waited for about 5 min, then the computer restarted itself.
The major problem I'm having is that with all of these options I don't get anywhere besides on this white screen. No options are available to choose, so I can't back anything up, select disks to use, etc.

The hardware test finally worked. It's running and I am performing the extended test now. The initial hardware test concluded no issues. Extended test came up with nothing. Memory isn't full. No clue what's going on.

  • Macbook stuck on load screen, recovery mode unhelpful?

So my friend has a refurbished Macbook laptop running Lion that won't boot past the grey load screen with the spinning wheel. I've tried everything I can possibly think of to fix it and nothing has worked. I think that the hard drive might be going bad. These are the things I've tried that haven't worked:
    - I've tried resseting the PRAM, no difference.
    - I've tried booting into safe mode by holding shift, the logo flashes between an apple and question mark until you let go of shift, and then it tries to boot normally and fails to start as usual.
-I've tried entering single user mode to see where exactly the loading process is getting stuck. Here is a picture of where it stops (sorry for the bad quality)
The last 5 lines of code you see in the picture just repeat indefinitely until you shut off the laptop. It doesn't allow you to type on this screen (i.e., I can't use the fsck -fy command)
    - I was able to boot the laptop into recovery mode, but it booted into it VERY slowly. And it continued to be very slow the entire time I was in the recovery mode. I selected the option to re-install Lion, I got to the window where you choose the disk to re-install, and the disk that shows is the recovery partition.
I tried using the disk utitilty to re-format the main partition but the disk "failed to unmount". I also tried dividing the main partition into 2 separate ones to see if that would work and it failed again.
Please, any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Also, I tried using the fsck -fy command with the terminal that's available in the recovery mode, and it came back saying everything was normal.

  • Ovi store stuck on loading screen (N8)

So I have this problem lately. I instaled new ovi store app and it get stuck on loading screen everytime I try to run this app.
I tried to reinstall it, I tried to reinstal phone soft and ovi store after and nothing changed.
pls help me with this. I cant use ovi store at all :/

Ok guys, I could solve the issue with some easy steps:
    1) First, reset and restore.Do not restore backup because will restore corrupted files at the QT library, hence making the phone not working fine.
    2) Now begin setting up your Nokia account and e-mail. Restart.
    3) SW update now including ovi store. Access OVI store and update again. Restart.
    4) Now, if you access the OVI store it will get stuck on "loading", so do not do it. You need now to connect the phone to your computer and install the support software from OVI SUITE. Then, disconnect and restart.
    5) Now access OVIMAPS on your phone and setup automatic connection with your nokia account. Restart.
    6) Great. You can access OVI STORE now and download whatever you want. You can also use the backup restore if you want but doing so will block some apps from uninstalling.
Everything is ok now. Have fun ;D
