Help!!! My WD My Passport has lost it's data!!

I had about 900gb of information stored on my WD My Passport external hard drive, i recently transfered about 160 gb of information from another drive onto it and it worked fine then but now, when i plug it into my computer, it won't show up under my devices! I checked Finder Preference and external hard drives was ticked. It only shows up on Disk utility and even then under available it says "----" same with used and number of files!!! it also says "Mount Point: Not Mounted" i tried to use recovery softwar but the applications themselves won't even recognize the drive! How can i get all of my information fast?! Thank you!

Youve been had by the WD software that corrupted your HD.
REMOVE the WD software, WD admitted to their fault in all of this months ago.
Youre metadata is certainly lost on the HD.

My daughter lost her unlimited data plan when I used her upgrade to buy a new phone (upgrade transfer). She didn't upgrade her phone, I did. No one told us this was going to happen and the first I knew of it was when I got a letter in the mail telling me of the change. We went back to the store where we bought the new phone and they put in 2 requests for her unlimited plan to be reinstated, but both were denied. They then told us to call Customer Care, but Customer Care doesn't care. Does anyone else have any experience of this and know of any recourse we may have? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yosemite update has lost all my data

Last night I let Yosemite do an update. Im now on version 10.10.2. I have now lost ALL my data for every program on my mac book pro. No Email info at all, no photoshop data, no lightroom data from the last 17 years of photographic work.
To say I am disappointed with Apple is an understatment as I run a small business from home and rely on my Mac as I have done over the last 20 year. Apple no longer seen to give stuff about the customer and only seem interested in money. If I wanted very poor service I would have bought a PC.

all of my data disappeared. All of the applications were still there but all of the keys had gone, all the settings had gone. I phoned Apple and sat in the que for 45 mins listening to music but eventually got through and have restored to my original settings from a back up. Thats another few hours of my life I won't get back..... everything now works except photoshop ffs! If u can fix that then your a better man than me.... Error 150:30.

Help ... My wife got an old laptop working again today. On there was an iTunes which she hadn't used for a year or more.
1. Marie plugged her 6 month old iPhone 4s into iTunes (the first time she had done this)
2. iTunes said she needed v 10.5 or above
3. She downloaded iTunes 10.7
4. She plugged iPhone back into iTunes
5. her iPhone showed the iTunes install screen
6. The screen message said an iPhone has already been synced with this iTunes (in fact it was an iPod Touch). She was asked whether she wanted to add this as a new iPhone, or if she wanted restore to "Marie's previous iPod Touch settings?"
7. You can guess what happened next. Marie mistakenly pressed Restore.
8. After she had done Restore, the phone asked her if she wanted to join iCloud and use location services etc. She clicked yes. However, by that time I am pretty sure she'd blanked the content on the iPhone by the mistaken restore from the old Touch.
8. We now have no photos, videos, contacts or text messages on the iPhone.It has been Restored with the content on what was a more or less blank iPod Touch.
QUESTION: I think she has replaced all of our content with, basically, nothing. We had many cherished photos and videos on there. Is there ANY way we can get our photos, videos etc back? Marie doesn't think she did a backup before Syncing her iphone.But would the phone have backed up previously, without her knowledge? Given that she had never plugged it into iTunesbefore...
First time we've used the Community. Marie is utterly distraught at the thought that we've lost tons of videos of our 2 year old daughter.

Have you rebooted mac? Then don't, until you checked the temporary directories. If your Aperture library went offline for some reason, Aperture may have written the images to the temporary caches.
Check these system folders, if you find any iPhone images
Quit Aperture.
Open a Terminal window and enter the following two line:
open $TMPDIR
This will open a Finder window with cryptically named folders. Dive into them and look for Aperture's Media cache folder. Are there any image files in the folder "com.apple.Aperture"?
Sometimes Aperture will write to that directory, if it cannot write to the Aperture library.
Also check the following location:
open /tmp
Added: Is there something special about the photos? Are they HDR photos, or taken i burst mode?

HELP!! ipod mini has lost its songs and pc wont recognise it

I've turned my ipod mini on today after not using it for a week. I plugged it in to the pc via the usb cable and itunes popped up as usual. My ipod wasn't on the source list and a box appeared saying that itunes didn't recognise my ipod and I had to go to software updater to reset it. There was no frowny face or all the other icons that appear when there's a problem. All the songs and folders I had on the ipod had disappeared even though they were still on itunes. After spending almost 2hrs downloading the new version and updater (dial-up) it still didn't recognise it.
I tried to reset it but got the message "ipod updater...... can't install firmware on connected ipod. The ipod's hardware and the updater firmware are not compatible".
I've done held the menu and select button to restore factory settings etc and its still the same.
It's constantly charging whilst plugged in and nothing I do will get my songs back on the ipod.
It was fine a week ago when I last used it and can't understand where all the gremlins have appeared from. No one else has used it.
Someone out there please help.

How were you able to plug in your iPod, your iTunes opened because of it but then it says it didn't recognize it? LOL Funny..

HT1766 After restoring yesterdays icloud back up one of my Apps has lost all its data. How can I get the data back as its important to me.

I accidentally added a passcode to my ipad mini after yesterdays IOS7 update. I then promptly forgot the passcode (I think apple secretly changed it really).
Its taken me 2.5hours to figure out how to reset my ipad after discovering there was no other way of getting into my ipad around the passcode.
Luckily my ipad backs up every evening to icloud so i had a new back up sat waiting for me.
Annoyingly, itunes wouldnt let me restore the factory settings as the "find my phone" thing was switched on. The only way to turn it off appeared to be via my ipad which I was unable to get into.
I eventually figured out how to restore it without this problem, by pressing the home button as I turned it on and then getting itunes to recognise it as a new ipad and restoring its settings that way.
Following this it was relatively simple to restore my icloud back up.
Everything appears to be here, my calander, my contacts etc. All my apps have been restored and Im yet to find any app that has missing data except for one (naturally the one that is most important to me).
This one app appears to have been returned to my ipad but it no longer has any data attached to it. I have lost everything. Payment info, Client info etc.
Is there any way of recovering the data. I presume its floating around the ether somewhere given I automatically back up to icloud every night.

There's one other variable, although it shouldn't really come in to play but worth checking anyway. Is it possible that the backup was made using a higher version of iOS than the one you are running now? For example, if you were running the iOS 7 beta, then restored to version 6.1.3, the backup would not be listed as you cannot restore to a backup made on a device running a higher version of iOS. If that's the case, you would have to update to the same or higher version of iOS in order to access your backup.

Ok. Let me explain you. Let's see...
I decided to hard-reset my phone (i.e.., restore factory defaults, via pressing *#7370# when phone is idle). Before doing that, I did a back-up of all my data via the "Back Up memory card", with the File manager application.
After doing the reset, when I try to restore the copy, it starts the process. Suddenly, the bar gets full in less than a second; I get an error but It goes too fast for me to be able to read it. After that, the "The phone will restart" message appears, and the phone restarts. But when it comes back, no data has been restored.
By meanings of trying this several times, I now know that the "fast message" says the phone is out of memory, and that I have to close some applications.
But... Why is happening this???!!!! I mean, before the hard reset, the phone had the data stored on the memory phone... Why now it can't? By the way, what applications am I supposed to close, if the phone is completely empty!?
Please... Tell me there is a way to have access to this data... Tell me I can copy it to the PC and, in some way, by meanings of some program, decompress it and restore my contacts and SMS... Please...

Sorry about that worth trying Ovi suite as well, I sync my phone about once per week, and when I do a reset (which is quite often with the N97) I can get the basics of my phone up and running in about ten minutes, a full backup and restore can cause problems anyway as if you have a problem with the phone and do a restore the problem may be restored as well. I normally just backup contacts Calendar and Notes and do everything else manually. Hope you manage to get a solution for your dilema .

Sync them from the supported application on the computer you are syncing them to, or iCloud or other cloud service.

IPod photo has lost all its data

I went to use my iPod as usual and found that it was blank! Not only has 30gb of music disappeared but also 10gb of photos. It didn't crash or do anything weird, and still seems to work as normal. I've tried leaving and going back, turning it off and on again, no luck
Another thing that happens is that the power off doesn't seem to work reliably. Sometimes I hold the button for ages and it still doesn't turn off.
Could this be related?
Is the power off an issue I ned to get fixed?

This is becoming a regular occurrence for me...
I have a 60GB iPod Photo, and this happens if I leave it unused for a day or so. When I start it up, all my songs are gone, but my photos are always still there. I reset to my heart's content, and nothing.
But as soon as I plug it into my computer, they're all back. I haven't taken it in to be checked out, but it seems very weird...I don't know if a future update will address this or not.

My project has lost the audio track. I imported tracks from iTunes, they are in the project but do not play, please help?

Hi...my movie project has lost the audio track. I can see it but nothing plays.
The movie record has its audio but the imported iTunes track is silent.

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar

Snow Leopard breaks quite a few drivers - my Canon exhibited the same problem.
I eventually found updated drivers on the Canon website. You can try that with the HP, but if the all-in-one is more than a year or so old, don't hold your breath.
You can also try Software Update to see if it will offer new drivers, or failing that go to the Support Downloads site and search for HP updates.
In fact there's a new one for HP at the top of the list just now.
You may not necessarily want the latest one, though - check the specs to see if your model is covered; if not, search for the previous update etc.

A number of people have complained of this happening to their iPads. The only recommendation I've seen is to shut down and restart the device. Do this by holding down the power button and "Home" button together for ~ 10 seconds. A red slider will appear asking if you want to shut down. After shutting down the iPad, restart by holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo appear.
