HELP - My website works on everyone else's computers but not my Mac.
I am having a terrible time trying to access my website - www.missjonesdesign.com
I could access it last week, but this week its stopped working on all my browsers, Safari, Firefox and Chrome. I am also having problems with my email, sometimes mail sends sometimes it does not. I dont know what to do. But its driving me crazy. My website can be accessed from other computers though and even my iPad.
I have deleted my cookies on all browsers and emtied the cache. I have switched some things on/off but now I just dont know what to do.
Can someone please give me some advice, this would be much appreciated, and I can then get on with updating and finishing my website.

It looks only your mac cannot find the web address "www.missjonesdesign.com". When you type this address into address bar in safari, safari asks to DNS Server of real ip address for this domain. But your mac shows the message that it can't find the server.
1. check your hosts file.
hosts file is a kind of ip - domain table. If a domain is recorded in this file, your mac don't ask DNS about this address, but it refer the ip address in hosts file. (so, it can't find the web server)
open terminal, and type "cat /etc/hosts". and press enter. it may look like below:
# Host Database
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
--> when you type 'localhost' in address bar, it leads this domain to your mac (127.0.0.1 represent you mac itself).
so, any unavailable ip is set for www.missjonesdesign.com, it never reach the your website.
If your website's domain is found in this file, you can edit hosts file to remove the line.
2. DNS setting
If your web server's domain doesn't exists in the hosts file, it may be problem of DNS server.
Open Network Setting Pane, Press "advanced...", and select DNS tab.
remove all dns's ip. and add 2 new address.
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
(these are google's open dns server)
save change and close the pane. and open terminal, type this command :
dnscacheutil -flushcache
and.... it will work. I hope.

Sharepoint Foundation - search working for some users (or computers), but not others

We have doozy of a search problem with SharePoint Foundation 2010 that I'm hoping someone can help with.
We have an application that is listening on port 14197 and search is working just fine, but only for one or two users.
If I do a search while logged in using the account we set the application up with then the search works fine and it returns records as expected.
If I use a different account - one that has full control over the app, then the exact same search fails with the following message:
We did not find any results for 06BSL.
Suggestions:
Ensure words are spelled correctly.
Try using synonyms or related searches.
Try broadening your search by searching from a different site.

We've done everything we can think of, including several procedures to create new search accounts, replace databases, etc.
Nothing has helped and all of the info we can find online is in relation to getting search working when it doesn't work at all. In our case it is working, but only for some users. We thought it might have been a permissions issue, but not matter
what permissions we seem to give to test accounts they still don't work. We've set up a test account, for example, that is a member of the 'application owners' group, but cannot produce any search results with it.
The SharePoint Foundation server is running on Windows 2008 Server Foundation, with a separate SBS 2003 DC.

Agreed that this looks like a permissions issue, but we're stumped as to what it could be. The 'test' account displays this problem - if we try and search on 06BSL
we get no results, but it does appear that this account has full control over this document (see below).
Note that the 'Manage Permissions' page presents a comment 'This list item inherits permissions from its parent. (Customer QA & Product Management)' which is what we're
expecting.
The indexing schedule is set to 5 minutes.
Appreciate your help with this, as we've spent a huge amount of time on this problem but don't seem to be any closer to a resolution.

Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

Getting support through this site is terrible. Having said that I have been trying to access the store in order to order PS CC and I have been unable to connect. I have an internet connection that works with everyone else. The URL comes up in the browse window and the address simply hangs. This has been going on for the past three hours.

USB drive with install image is showing in Startup Manager on a Mac Pro, but wont boot. Showing circle with cross strip, and shut down automatically. USB device are made and work on two different MacBook Pro, but used on Mac Pro. Any help?
OS X installers have always been fairly specific, hardware-wise. I haven't read anything reflecting that situation with the Recovery HD, so it may be that the Recovery HD created for the MacBook Pro does not have the necessary drivers for the Mac Pro. Obviously, nothing definitive here, but a possibility.

Recently, I can't get any sound from my game applications. Sound works fine with video, streaming, etc, but not my game applications. I've tried powering down and re-booting, but the sound does not return. Can anyone help me?
Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). My new Apple password works on my computer and ipad but not my 4s. help!
I had to reset my apple password because apple store wouldn't let me use my original one for some reason.
Now I have a new password and it's working on my computer and ipad, but not my 4s, so if I needed an app, I'd have to get it from ipad and it'd sync to my phone.

i had the same issue as everyone here after upgrading to itunes 10.x. vista could see xp home share. ipod touch could see xp home share.
neither could see vista home share.
after several hours of authorizing de-authorizing, rebooting router etc, i knew it had to be a firewall thingy with vista as xp was working fine
i went to this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2553 and followed the instructions. itunes was already in my vista exception list. on a hunch i deleted the itunes exception and followed the steps to add it again and boom it worked!! i could now see my vista machine from my ipod touch immediately.
something must have screwed up the firewall exception on the upgrade to itunes 10.x
it worked for me, i hope this helps others -

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing on your iPhone. It sounds like you are not noticing transparency on your iPhone. It may be that you have "Increase Contrast" turned on in your iPhone settings.
I recommend verifying that Increase Contrast is turned off in Settings>General>Accessibility.

I've been given the unenviable task of troubleshooting and installing/distributing software written by a former co-worker. I've modified the LabVIEW code and built an .exe file. I've successfully installed the Labview .exe file on several computers, but it won't work on some others. What's more baffling is that I installed it successfully on one computer, uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling it with no success. In fact, it's a new error (Dr. Watson for Windows NT application error). It doesn't help that I have different versions of LabVIEW and Matlab on the target computers. Some have LabVIEW 5.1, some
have 5.0, and some don't have it at all. Some have Matlab 5.2, some have 5.3 (R11) and some have 6.0 (R12). It's also not clear to me where the Matlab m files should be located. I'm not sure if it's a LabVIEW Runtime Engine problem, or if it's a Matlab problem. I've also wondered how LabVIEW and Matlab talk to each other. When LabVIEW calls Matlab, it seems that Matlab is running in the background. I'm having a problem with firefox playing background music on some sites, it works with IE and other browsers but not with fire fox, what html or java script do I need to add to the pages so that they play the music?
I develop my pages in Front Page and I know that the music only works in IE, so if someone can tell me how to correct this problem as it is important as I use fire fox as my main browser.
