N95 dual slider not opening multimedia menu
I have an N95 1Gb ph, when I use the slider to open the multimedia keys the multimedia menu does not activate. I'm sure I have turned this off somewhere but I can't work out how to get it back. Any suggestions would be great

I did and then rolled it back but its not there anymore
Are you sure it did effectively roll back the firmware version? Key in *#0000# to find out what version is in fact installed.
As others have pointed out, the media menu opening automatically when you slide the face downwards was removed in firmware v20 (and not a minute too soon IMO) so it looks like that's what you still have.

N96 multimedia menu problem. Please help.
I have a N96. The problem is that once i open the main menu and then i press the close button, (the button on the right) it opens the multimedia menu. If i then press the close button to close that, it close the multimedia menu but if i press it again it does the same again, kind of in a loop. If i press the left options button this now takes me back each step of the menu depending where i was. I've found that if once i've opened the main menu and gone further into any other menu, if i press and hold the options button down and the press the exit button once, then it will go back to the previous menu as it should. However, once i let go of the options button the mutimedia menu opens again. Also if i haven't got the key lock on, the main screen light stays on. If i lock the keys the screen does go darker but you can see the message flashing up on the screen as if i'm pressing a key. I've tried everything i can think of to sort this, factory reset and hard reset, also checked to see if the buttons are stuck down but they are not. nothing makes a difference. I had this problem once before, but after a few months one day it just worked normal again. Also i've just had the phone back a week from nokia repair as they repaired it after it suffered white screen of death after a recent upgrade i tried. all firmware and such is up to date.
Please can somebody help, i really feel like throwing it through a window. Any help would be very helpful.
thanks.I got the same problem on N95 8GB, after firmwareupdate and format massmemory, got new pc-suiit, and all.
(but no c++ error, When i start up Map Loader it says "Waiting for Device". The USB mode on my phone is "Pc Suit", i have winxp pro)
Then i remember from the update a half year ago, i need to "start and close" maps on my phone one's first, after that all work fine.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion.
It's what Nokia will do about it now and how do we alert them?
Well this is an official Nokia forum and there are representatives that look over the forum so I'm sure it'll be picked up as an issue and worked upon.
Can someone do a check for me please as my multimedia key started working for me again, and I don't recall restarting it (or it rebooting) between the alarm going off and the multimedia key starting to work (unfortunately I haven't been able to find an "uptime" tool for the Symbian 60 environment).
Could you close all open applications on your phone, then goto Tools->Memory card and backup the contents of your phone onto your memory card, and THEN try the multimedia key to see whether it starts working again ?
If it does, then I think I know what is happening. I've noticed that if I have MobiPocket open and do a backup of my phone contents onto memory card, what the phone does is actually close MobiPocket down so that it hasn't got any files open, then back everything up, then re-opens it for me. If this is the case, and the multimedia key starts working again for other users after carrying this action out, then it may be that the backup operation is closing a process which has been left running in the background of the phone once a recurring alarm has gone off.

Displaying Photos on N78 - Multimedia Menu
Hi All,
I have a problem in which everytime i take a photo/video and go to view it on the images multimedia menu it displays it as a older photo already stored in my phones memory. It is only when i try to zoom in on the photo is comes up with the right image i have just taken.
Does anyone know where i might be going wrong? This is really bugging me.
Also when i view the new images via the old fashioned file manager it opens them fine.i came across this bug in the 12.046 firmware also on my N78. you can read the bug list here if you so wish: /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&thread.id=42047&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
i should mention that there are firmware updates available for the N78, namely 20.149 and 21.002. 21.002 is the latest and v30 is rumoured to come within the next few weeks or so. if it is possible for your product code, please update to the newer version via Nokia Software Updater (using your PC) or via the handset Firmware Over The Air. if your handset does not have any updates stated to be available, i would suggest haggling your operator to see if they will approve/have approved firmware updates.
please throw some kudos our way, it would mean a lot to us

Is it possible to map the 'multimedia menu' on a s...
Hi all,
The multimedia key on my Nokia N79 is broken (nr 3 in the picture). My plan was to map the 'multimedia menu' functionality on the left selection key (nr 2). But the 'multimedia menu' doesn't appear in the list of possible mappings. It is also impossible to reach the 'multimedia menu' via the normal menu.
Conclusion: if the multimedia key is broken, it appears that it is impossible to use the 'multimedia menu'
Does anyone know a workaround? Or, if Nokia is reading this, can you add the 'multimedia menu' to the mapping-options for the selection keys?
Thanks in advance,
Jarown

I'm one step further again I mapped the left softkey (164) to my multimedia key (186) and it works! But now i realize that this mapping is active in ALL menu's.
Is it possible to only have this mapping only active when I'm in the main menu? Otherwise I'm not able to activate the 'options' menu, or press 'ok', which is under that button in most other cases.

Firefox help drop down menu disabled

I scanned for Malware, but found nothing.

There's no 'Help' on my menu options
I want to reset to factory settings, but the first intruction is to open up 'Help' from the menu. There's no "Help" option on my menu!
Thanks for your help. The "?" was there all the time. I was just looking for it in the icon area such as the "find" or "options" icons. Thanks again for answering my dumb question.

When I select an option from from the help drop down menu it just goes away. It does not go to the query I selected by hitting the keypad.

Nokia N96 MultiMedia Menu No Longer Updates
Anyone else have this problem. After upgrading to the lastest Nokia N96 v20.056 software, which works wonderfully by the way, the only thing was that my multimedia menu stopped updating. Only my TV& Video Tab updates, all the tabs have stopped udating, Photos, Music, Maps all the rest. Any idea of how to resolve this problem
Sorry haven't noticed this, but then again I don't use the menu that much.
I'll take a look
UPDATE: Upon checking my phone it does update the Music and Camera with the latest picture or song played, so maybe something has gone wrong in your device. I can't think of what, or how to solve it but it could be that re-installing the firmware or a reset may solve it.

N95 multimedia key stuck?
Hello, I recently purchased a 2nd hand N95 8GB. At first it seemed to work quite finely however after a day or two the multimedia key (that useless key located to the left of directional keys) started playing up by just randomly pressing itself. Most of the time it works normally and then completely at random it will start playing up, entering my music folder and playing songs. I've tried updating to the latest firmware, restoring it to factory setting and erasing everything off of it but to no avail. The key itself isn't physically stuck in any way. I think the phone was originally locked to a network, but it was then unlocked and had Nokia's firmware installed on it. If someone could help get this fixed I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
It's a hardware issue, most likely a failed or damaged (drop/shock/moisture) component.
Take it to a nokia care point for inspection.

Help:N95 Pc bluetooth sync probs
Hi all, I am a severly disabled owner of a new Nokia N95. I bought the phone as I was told that I could sync it to my PC so that it will auto update any changes (contacts, mp3, photo's) as soon as both phone & pc are in bluetooth range of each other. It works with my contacts but i have to keep telling the phone accept pc connection and i cant seem to sync via bluetooth to media player 11 at all.
Can any tell me how to:
a) Get the phone to automaticaly accept connections from my pc & sync any new contact to Outlook 2007?
b) Sync any photo's to pc automaticaly when ever in range?
c) Sync mp3 to music folders automaticaly via bluetooth?
It would really help me out if i can automate these tasks as i fhave limited use of my hands.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TiaI don't have anything to test this with but to automate the bluetooth connection, I believe you need to establish a connection between the phone and the PC then:
- open the bluetooth menu option on the phone
- move to the right hand tab using your rocker thing
- select the connection
- press "Options"
- select "Set as authorised"
Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to automate music synch-ing however for photos, you could try going into Store Images then click on Settings.
Go through the menu options until you get to the "Define the operation after storing" page. The bottom tick box should be "Start image storing automatically when I connect my phone to the PC".
If it does what it says on the tin, then if you tick that option it ought to transfer your pictures/videos every time your bluetooth re-connects. -

well I have managed to mod a plug in, so it now see's it however it won't transfer music/photos to it.
Also I notice when I mount it as mass storage it is only usb 1, which is a little slow when you are transfering gb's -
DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.
First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.
I know this is long, but here is my code for the page.

<!-- InstanceEnd --></html>I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.
