Help Needed : Developing .SVG processing application
hey guys
i have been looking into developing an application that will open an .svg(vector file) saved from adobe illustrator, and perform a few transformations and save the result as a bitmap. I ask this because i have specific requirements that illustrator cannot perform, so im going to try and do them myself.
Can this be done using the java platform ? Are there any good libraries out there anywhere that would help me ? or can anyone lend any advice ?
cheers
Hi,
Check Batik (http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/#batik)
Hope that help,

Need help to develop centralized web application
Hello,
Please correct me if i am posting thread in wrong area.
I am going to develop web application for a university, a complete online portal for Teachers, Students and Administrators. There are more than 50 affiliated campuses of university in different cities. I need to develop centralized web application which all campuses' teachers/students/administrators will access from internet. Please guide me what hardware, module, development technique etc should i use.
I am using J2SE and Oracle10g to develop that application.
Thank YouGo to CustomInk.com. Their T-shirt Design App is not Flash based which is refreshing. Instead, they're using a sophisticated combination of CSS, JavaScript and PHP/MySql.
Digging a little deeper into the source code, it looks like the company that developed their T-shirt Design App is located in India and called No-Fresh.com
No-Fresh licenses their T-shirt Design App. You might want to contact them directly.

Help: need to extract an application from oracle/apex directory
Hi, all!
I worked on oracle10xe and apex 1.3.1 and then messed with partition table a bit so got my windows crashed and I don't believe i'll be able to restore it.
so what i have is an oracle directory from the long-dead windows with apex inside, and i need to extract the applications and the data i was working with somehow.
Any thoughts?
Does anybody knows where does oracle store all its databases and where apex keeps its applications?
oraclexe\oradata\xe\ has some .dbf files in it, will it work if i just write them over in a newly installed oracle+apex?Hello,
At this point, since you can't turn to Oracle Support (since it is XE), then I would suggest asking amongst your colleagues/friends/etc and trying to find a friendly DBA who will try and help you out for a beer or 3.
Depending on how critical your work was, I wouldn't throw away all hope of recovering your database until you've exhausted all the options.

Please help with developing a simple application
I have small reference book that is falling apart, that I can no longer get a copy of, and would like to get it put onto my iphone. It's a book I use often.
I just want to be able to put in a number or title name and have the app find the text. I'm prepared to enter all the text, but have no idea where to go from there. It's only for mine and my brother's use, so not worth paying for it to be done.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
Kerrie.Hi Kerrie,
The resources provided here: http://developer.apple.com/ will help you create an iPhone application.

Help needed on upgrading portal application from sp3 to weblogic portal 10
Hi Guys
I have an application which is currently running on BEA Weblogic Portal 8.1 sp3. We need to upgrade our application from 8.1 sp3 to BEA Weblogic 10 version.
(1) Is there any way for upgradation from 8.1 sp3 to portal 10 directly or do I need to upgrade it from sp3 to sp4 and then from sp4 to portal 10? Pls clarify?
(2) How reliable are the BEAs automated scripts for retaining the personalization/customization of my application on sp3 to upgraded version i.e portal 10?
(3) I believe, we do not need to do any coding/design changes/architectural changes into my application for this upgrade.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated
Thanks
Jameel1) I believe only sp4 and later to weblogic 10 is supported (http://www.bea.com/content/news_events/white_papers/BEA_WL_Portal10_ds.pdf)
so yes i think you need to upgrade from sp3 to a later version of the service pack
2) You tell us :)
3) Depends on your application and the features you have used. E.g. I believe Content management has changed between sp3 and what 10 supports.

The .sca-file can be found on the sap service marketplace, afterwards you need to import the .sca-file, add the SC to your "MyComponents" and then you can select your necessary DC's. -

Help needed for file processing using FTP
Hi All,
I am new to ODI tool and currently we are implementing one project in ODI. Could you please, any one help me on the following requirement... how to implement it?
Scenario:
i) I need to pick a file from remote host 'outbox' dir using FTP process, and place into local 'temp' dir. (I can do it with odiFTPGet tool)
ii) Change the file as per target business requirement.??? ( this step challenging me)
for ex:
if source file name : <project name>_<source ID>_<transaction name>_<unique id>.txt
target name should be : 1234_<transaction name>_<sysdate in yyyyMMddhhmmss>_<unique id>_2345.txt ( here 1234 and 2345 are hard coded values)
iii) Later move to local 'temp' to local 'outbox' dir. ( I can do it with odiFileMove tool)
iv) After successful process move the file from remote 'outbox' to remote 'archive' dir ??? (again this is challenging me).
For this my questions are:
1) How to get file name into a variable ( In one of the post , it says we need to create data model and data stores, and interface to get the file names into a file. apart from is there any easy way i can implement it in package it self?)
2) How to tokenize a long string ( i.e., need to tokenize the source file to get <unique id> and <transaction name> and map to target file name)
3) How to define implementation for Java in user function?? do we need to use class declarations and import statements?? I need a sample user function in Java.
4) How to move/rename a file in remote server?? ( need to move file from remote 'outbox' server to remote archive' dir)
5) If any step in package fails, How to get the error msg into a variable which i can use for sending mail and raise a ticket in remedy?? ( I will pass that variable to as content to mail and remedy ticket)
6) How to handle list type data (string list) by variables in ODI?? (As we can define single variable not as list.)
I am sorry to ask all my queries I a single post. But I need to solutions for all to implement this in my project.
Thanks in advance. Appreciate early response.

Kiran.NCan any one share your thoughts for my request.
Thanks in advance.

Help needed in installing orale application 11.5.10 on Linux
Hi
i am getting some problems.
I have dump of entire oracle applications software in my hard disk. I doesn't have DVD's. And i think i doesn't need to run perl script before installing appliations. When i install oracle applications from hard disk .. it gives me a successful installation . But later i am unable to connect to database or and linux is unable to recognize the sql command or envionment variables are not working. I am trying to install on stand alone machine. Please help me out/???
thanks in advance.I create soft links via ln -s to the environment scripts:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 oracle dba 43 2005-02-10 20:29 vis9.env -> /lv03/oracle/vis9db/9.2.0/vis9_socrates.env
lrwxrwxrwx 1 applmgr appl 33 2005-02-10 20:27 vis9.env -> /lv03/oracle/vis9appl/APPSORA.env
So in oracle user home directory, I type ln -s /lv03/oracle/vis9db/9.2.0/vis9_socrates.env vis9.env
Then just type . vis9.env to take on the database environment as the oracle user.
In the applmgr home directory, I type ln -s /lv03/oracle/vis9appl/APPSORA.env vis9.env
Then just type . vis9.env as applmgr, to assume the applications environment. You will need to be in this environment to start/stop the applications.
cd to $OAD_TOP/admin/scripts/*
to stop:
./adstpall.sh apps/apps
to start:
./adstrtal.sh apps/apps

Help Needed - Report Approval Process in OBIEE
Hi Experts,
I have a requirement as below
1) I will pull the data from the database and generate a report
2) Then user 1 logs in and has to approve the report
3) Then user 2 logas in and has to approve the report
Once user1 and user 2 approves then only I should make make it avalable to the remaining users...
Is it possible in OBIEE
Thanks
venkat"You can achieve this by implementing the right security. Before approval, once the report is designed, give access to this report only to user1 and user2. When user1 logs in, he checks the report, approves it and notifies user2, then user2 logs in and approves the report and notifies you. Once report is approved by both, you can change the security permissions to make it available to all the users that needs to access it "
Hi Amit,
Thanks for quick reply
How can "User 1 checks the report, approves it and notifies user2 "
can you be more precise on it....
My requirements in more precise is
1) when user 1 logs and approves it, user 2 should see that it has been approved by user 1
2) When user 2 logs in and approves , user 1 should see it..
I want to automate the whole process .. insted of me going and chaning the security perimission .. once i it is approved by user 1 and user 2.
is it possible.....
Thansk in Advance

Help needed in Business one application
Hi all,
My requirement is as below.
In Business one application,
An End user will create Purchase order of 10 units for Item A.
After that when he do Goods Receipt for Purchase Order for 10 units,he will send all 10 units to Quality Manager for Quality Check.
Now say,if out of 10 units,2 units are rejected because of bad quality, he should be able to update Document for Goods Receipt against purchase order for only 8 units.
But as of now system is not allowing to Edit the document.
Can any one give me an idea to fulfill the above requirement?
Thanks & Regards,
RaviHi Ravi
It is not possible to enter rejected quantity in Goods receipt PO(GRPO) so we have to enter the total quantity received and if say 2 nos are rejected, copy the Goods receipt PO to Return and change the quantity field to 2 nos. Then when AP Invoice is raised payment will be made only for 8 nos. The Quality control (QC) person can check the items and mention his remarks in the hard copy of item challan.
However if you want to show the rejected quantity in GRPO create an user defined field with field name as "Rejected quantity" and the rejected quantity can be noted by the QC person. But this field is only for information and not taken into account.
Hope this clears your doubts.
