Help Needed. DVDs will not play on my imac, they used to play.

The auto selection will not load my idvd app selction when I'm asked what to do when a dvd is loaded into the drive and of course the mac will not play the dvd.
The dvds are playing fine on my mac book pro no problem so its not the dvds, so I really am stuck with this, please help!!

Help Needed - Pages will not put/upload

I will greatly appreciate your advice! - Just had my computer
wiped clean and Windows XP reinstalled. I then reinstalled
Dreamweaver MX 2004 with no problems. However, one of the sites I
had created for a client is causing a problem. (The rest are all
working fine.) When I make changes to a page, then put or upload
it, nothing happens to the pages on the website. It remains the
same. I suspect something is wrong with the way I set up the Site
Definition but I cannot find the problem anywhere. I am also
getting the message " An FTP error occurred - cannot make
connection to host. The remote host cannot be found." I've entered
the site as both an IP address and as the FTP server and neither
makes any difference. Have been going over it for 2 days now and am
lost. By the way, the only difference between this website and the
other 4 I manage is that this one uses a different web host.
I do hope someone can suggest a solution! Thank you!

The test button indicated that everything was okay.
I finally solved the problem this morning and except for one
new problem, everything is working well. I maintain 5 sites, 4 with
one web host and the "problem" site with a different host. Figured
that had to mean something so I fiddled with all of the Site
Definitions until I got it working. Whereas the other 4 work with
every single area filled out, this one works with several of them
omitted. I have no idea why this works, but it does.
The remaining problem I have - and it's another new one to me
- is that every time I put/upload, I get a window that states that
someone else is working on a page and requesting that I enable
check in/out. I'm the only one working on the site so that is
strange. It is ony a nuisance though because I can choose to upload
the file anyway.

DVD will not play on iMac in Bootcamp using Windows 8

I am trying to play a DVD in Windows 8 being run with Bootcamp on my iMac (OSX 10.9). The DVD will not autoplay in Windows. You can see the DVD in the folder view, but can only access the Video_TS and Audio_TS files, not the actual playable DVD. Have tried playing it through the folder view as well as Windows Media also to no avail. Booted down Windows and into Mac OS, and the DVD autoplays just fine. How can I get it to play in Windows mode, as the software we are running for a certain program needs to be accessed constantly before and after the DVD needs to play?

Ok so here's the deal. I imported my DVD using MpegStreamClip - this is a DVD previously built by me, but back in the days I used Pinnacle... which wasn't so long ago. I imported this DVD as .m2v and AIFF audio, and built a project in DVDSP 4. The simulations run fine and I have had no problems up until the point that I burn the DVD, and the DVD will not play on a standalone player.
When outputting from DVDSP, do I need to Burn/Build/Format/Build&Format? Is it one of my settings that I need to change?
I know this question has been asked before, but there seems to be no solution out there yet.

I have an HVDVD_TS folder, but not the usual VIDEO_TS folder - could this be evidence of my problem?

Keep your m2v files.
Take the aiff files and encode them in Compressor ac3/Dolby 2.
Create a new project in DVD SP. Make certain the SD button is selected.
Import ac3 and m2v assets and you are good to go.

You don't want to change the player Region Code. If I remember correctly you can only change the Region Code three times and it sticks to the last Region Code you selected.

Unfortunately I do not find this to be so, and I would like to know why, please. The DVD created is in UDF form. It plays back perfectly in my Liteon Player via the TV. It will play on my Windows PC via either WMP or Nero, BUT IT WILL NOT PLAY on my i-Mac, neither by Quick Time nor DVD Player. I get the message "not in a form recognised." Goodness! It was created on the i-Mac, via i-DVD !!
All my software is up-to-date of course.

There are a variety of reasons why a burned DVD will not be recognized by a DVD player.
I'm interested to hear you say that you burned the disk with iDVD and yet the disk does not playback on the same computer that created the disk. If you put a standard purchased video DVD into the computer does it playback? If it does not then I would focus your attention on the Computer / DVD drive itself and not iDVD.
Things to try:
1.) Make sure the DVD disks you are using are compatible with your computer's optical drive. If you use a disk that is not supported by your computer's SuperDrive you may get inconsistent burn results. You can find out what types and speeds of disks your computer supports by going here and looking for the "SuperDrive" section under your model of computer: http://support.apple.com/specs/
2.) Older drives / players may not be able to read newer types of burnable media. Use DVD-R disks that list a lower speed. Burnable media comes with numbering on the original packaging that indicates the speed of the disk (Usually 1x,2x,3x, etc.). The lower the number the more compatible the disk will be with more DVD players.
3.) Try different brands of media. I personally try to stick with media made by companies with a long history of making recordable media.
4.) Lower the burn speed in iDVD:
iDVD > Preferences > Advanced > Preferred DVD Burning Speed
-- The lower the number you choose the more compatible the resulting disk will be with more DVD players. It will also increase the amount of time it takes to burn the disk.

The following Knowledge Base article written for the USB SuperDrive, offers some practical steps to try when issues present themselves with particular content playback (feel free to skip Step 3 when working with an iMac or MacBook with built-in drives):

Particularly:
Accepts discs but they don't mount or are automatically ejected
Make sure the drive is not placed upside down. The aluminum enclosure should be facing up as shown in section 1.
Check the disc's surface for scratches and dirt, since these things can prevent the disc from appearing on the desktop.
Connect the MacBook Air SuperDrive directly to the computer's USB port instead a USB hub.
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).
Ensure your drive can read the specific type of disc being used. The System Profiler or System Information may provide additional information regarding what media your computer supports.
OS X Snow Leopard v10.6 or earlier: Open Apple System Profiler by choosing "About this Mac" from the Apple () menu. Then, click More Info.
OS X Lion v10.7 and later: Click the Apple () menu and then hold down the Option key. Choose System Information from the menu.
If the disc continues to not be recognized, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with an Apple Retail Store.

Ah, I'm sorry! I think I misunderstood your second post. Open the Start Menu and click "Computer." A window should open that shows the drives in your computer. Is one of the icons your DVD drive? What drive letter is it? Is the the D: drive?
Put a disc in the computer. Tell me a little about the disc. Is it a CD or a DVD? Is it a retail version of something or is it a homemade, recorded disc? Is it computer data (such as an application, game, or documents), a music CD, or a movie?
Once the disc is in the computer, right-click on the disc drive in the Computer window we opened and select "Open." What happens?

DVD will not stop and start in a Menue Mode

Hello I am using DVD Studio Pro 4 for a school project and i am looking for some help with this problem.
The DVD i have created plays and stops when i am watching one of my video tracks, i just can not start the DVD when i am previewing in any menue after i stop it.
I have created my DVD with 16 menus and 2 video tracks. It burns and plays back fine but i can not stop and start the DVD when i am in a menu mode. The DVD will stop and play when i stop the DVD playing video from one of my video tracks but when i am in menu i push stop on my DVD controller and the DVD will not start back up. The DVD will look like it wants to play but it will not play. I have to open the DVD player tray open in order for it to start the DVD again.
The DVD is a NTSC, SD, single layered 2.9GB
Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

DVD will not eject

A DVD in the slot-loading drive will not eject. My iBook reads the disk as it appears on my desktop and I can play the DVD. But as soon as I hit the eject key (F12), it makes a weird sound, like it's trying to eject, but the DVD will not eject. Can some one tell me what I can do? I have tried all the normal procedures, like holding the track pad while starting up, doing the Firmware thing at start-up, etc... All I get is the weird spinning sound, but no disk ejected. Please some one tell me what I need to do. Thank you in advance!

When open firmware doesn't work, it sounds like a hardware problem with the ejector. I would take the machine into service and let them know you tried the open firmware method.

And note that disks which have been written on by sharpie or other type of pen, or a sticky applied to them can cause the drive to age prematurely. Always buy media in jewelcases by known reliable vendors. For CD that's Verbatim, Kodak, Imation, and Sony. For DVD check http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia/

Our dvd will not eject

use the F12 or eject key on the keyboard.
If the disc will not eject try dragging the disc icon to the trash.
If the disc will still not eject, hold down the trackpad or mouse button after restarting the computer should also eject a disc.
If the disc continues not to eject, reset the System Management Controller (SMC) and try steps 1-4 again.

I've seen some issues like these on laptops but not recently on the IdeaCentre B540 (your issue might be similar to this thread though).
Can you try to:
1. Press WinKey+E to open Windows Explorer. On the left pane, check if you can see the CD/DVD drive then do a right click > eject to open the CD/DVD tray.
2. If same problem, use a paperclip to force eject the DVD tray

3. Open Device Manager (press Winkey+R > type devmgmt.msc) and verify that the CD/DVD drive have no errors (exclamation or question mark right next to it). If this is ok, verify that you see the CD/DVD drive when you open Windows Explorer (see Step 1). If it's not visible, apply this microsoft fix.

Reset device, reset network, renew lease, etc. None of them work.

Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

Hi All, thank you for you suggestions. I have been unable to find any website for the maker, but have looked at several Thai/cambodian sites incl <http://www.buycoms.com/Article/8435/index.asp> which mentions the keyboard being suitable for tablet or windows. No mention of iMac! although the box is branded to indicate Mac compatable.
I'm thinking that maybe it just will not pair with an iMac.
Ill keep looking for the maker website, which might come on later in the future? maybe?
