Help Needed-eMac has died slightly
Hey, im having problems with starting my computer up. When I switch it on, it makes a strange ticking noise, then a grey screen appears and after a while a little purple file icon with flashing alternating question mark and finder icon on the file. Thats it I can't get it to do anything else! Does anyone know whats wrong with it or how I can fix it?

Help Needed-iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Hey guys,
I have had this extremely frustrating problem that just recently started occurring with iTunes. I have read many discussion forums but can’t seem to find a working solution. The problem is every time I try to open iTunes I get an error message that says “iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.” The same thing happens when I try to open Quicktime as well.
I have tried every solution suggested in these forums. I have completely uninstalled Quicktime and iTunes along with their components (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, etc.) and then reinstalled each of them but the problem still remains. I do NOT use iTunes for my iPod (I do not own one) I simply use iTunes to listen to my music.
I have also tried the methods of installing Quicktime by itself and not with iTunes but the problem still remains. I have tried every solution I have seen. The only method I have not tried is completely removing all files and folders that have to do with iTunes because I am worried if I delete those files with all the music I have bought it will have to be downloaded again or lost.
This is the “Error Signature” that is on the error report when I try to open iTunes.

There was A LOT more information in the “Error Report Contents” but it would have taken me all night to type it all accurately. If that is what is needed then I am willing to provide any other information about this problem in hope of getting some useful suggestions or solutions. Any help would be deeply appreciated. right since i upgraded to windows 8 pro ive lost my photoshop elements 9 that came with my laptop , its gone . please help.
Can you check in Control panel /Control and in the Programs list it is there or not. Also check under c:\program files(x86)\adobe if it is there. If it is not there you can reinstall if you have disk with you.

I have had my daughter's eMac in repair three times now and am my wit's end. Every time I turn it on, it works for a while, and then when I cold boot, the power button will not turn the computer back on. And then we go back to the Apple store again for repairs. What in the heck is happening? I have never ever had these problems with other computers. Any ideas???

What's been repaired or replaced? What repairs did the repair shop report on the three occasions they've had it? Have they replaced the power switch itself? (The pins on the wire connecting the button to the motherboard are reported easy to bend.)
You may want to check the Apple: Find Service website and check if there are alternate service providers in your area. -
Help needed - profile has been reset
Hi all
Would like some help as to what to do
Have had no problem with connection or speed until this AM - router was sat with a no connect red light and having reset it - the profile seems locked at 2Mbps. Have done quiet line test and the stats are below.
As i say - normally very stable here - last time I looked at the stats, the router connection uptime was 60 days or so.
I've checked the exchange info and nothing is reported - so what is the next step?
It looks to me like the profile is stuck - but you experts may detect something other

Java is no longer included in Mac OS X by default. If you want Java, you will have to install it.
However, note that you should think twice before installing Java for such a trivial need as looking at stock market quotes. There are other ways to get that information that don't involve Java, and using Java in your web browser is a HUGE security risk right now. Java has been vulnerable to attack almost constantly for the last year, and has become a very popular, frequently used method for getting malware installed via "drive-by downloads." You really, truly don't want to be using it. See:

Need help here, a friend died from mesothelioma and his family gave his ipad to us for our children. I reset the ipad in iTunes on the computer and it has find my iPhone on it , now the ipad dont start or boot up again. How do I get for that because I am not able to get a hold of him obviously?
Just had an employee terminated most acrimoniously and had an iPhone 5C that was a brick. Apple support can help remove the lock. Better hold onto your original receipt and record the Serial# ! I do not mean the MEID or IMEI but the Serial# found on the original box or Settings>General>About. In my case no receipt or Serial#. 2 hours on the phone between Apple and Verizon and got what was needed. Submitted form and got reply to allow 2-10 business days.

I ordered a new phone and shipped it to a friend in Dubai, UAE. without knowing i have to activate it by making 5minutes calls, please i need a way to activate it without sending it back to the US..any help? this has been very frustrating for me this past few days

I think I have mountain lion OS X....I have done I think almost every suggestion I've seen in discussion boards.
Boot in recovery repaired disk...ok...repair disk permission...all repaired but one warning...I've tried to reinstall lion (without losing data) and it Got all the way to one minute to be done and then the time change back two hours and kept doing this all night long. I haven't done a back up due to no external for time machine.
I hope someone can please help me I've been going crazy for a week now trying to figure this out. I use my computer for school and I'm currently very behind from in my school work thank you

Try holding the Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode. Then, after starting in safe mode, open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type /Library/StartupItems. Then, empty this folder and restart the Mac.
If your Mac starts after doing this, it was a problem with a third-party app that starts automatically when you turn on the computer. It won't start automatically anymore after doing that -
My iphone 4 has died and says connect to itunes. itunes restore wont work, error message 2001, then 2006 appears.Tried all the troubleshooting help, but nothing works. Any ideas???
I solved my own problem. Hopefully this will help someone else.
I did a DFU restore, then started it up as a new phone on iTunes. Everything loaded properly, then from iTunes did a restore from backup, selected the one I wanted and it still took me to the same screen with 3 options of restore. I chose the start up as new phone from the actual phone and after all the syncing was completed, my phone is back in working order. -
Macbook pro two days old...bought logic from app store...logic has installed partly each time i open it up it wants to download rest of programme then stops half way thru and gets error message 'logic is unable to continue with download' help needed !

I would trot back into the Apple store and have them fix the problem (or call Applecare with a warranty issue). There is no sense in you wasting your time trying to troubleshoot things on a new computer.

My old PC has died and gone to PC Heaven and I now have a lovely new one running with VIsta but I am really worried about connecting my Ipod up. As I have no acces to my old ITunes library I have downloaded new ITunes verison 7.2 but if I connect up and sync my IPod will I lose the tunes I already have stored? Please can anyone advise?
IPOD Video Windows VistaConnect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
