Hi all help needed I have a canon 40D. I am thinking of buying a canon 6D.
But not sure that my lenses will work.
I have a 170mm/ 500mm APO Sigma.
A 10/20 ex Sigma HSM IF.
And a 180 APO Sigma Macro or do I have to scrap them and buy others.

In short, I love it. I was going to buy the 5DMark III. After playing with it for a while at my local Fry's store where they put 5DMII, 5DMIII and 6D next to each other, using the same 24-105L lens, I decided to get the 6D and pocket the different for lens later.
I'm upgrading from the 30D. So I think you'll love it. It's a great camera. I have used 5DMII extensively before (borrowing from a close friend).
Funny thing is at first I don't really care about the GPS and Wifi much. I thought they're just marketing-gimmick. But once you have it, it is actually really fun and helpful. For example, I can place the 6D on a long "monopod", then use the app on the phone to control the camera to get some unique perspective on some scenes. It's fun and great. GPS is also nice for travel guy like me.

I always suggest going to monoprice.com for cheap priced and good quality cables, adapters, aother videio/audio realated hardware.years.

There is no need for anyone to use 32-bit version anymore.
Retail comes with both. Or you can save on just buying 64-bit System Builder disc.
Better support for today's hardware with larger video graphic memory and systems.

If you aren't going to use your Mac for anything special (Final Cut, Aperture, Photoshop, games...), you don't need that graphic card and you will save money.
Also, as it looks like you are going to buy the 27-inch iMac, I recommend you to buy the Mac with 8 GB of memory, and then, buy the memory that your iMac needs in OWC or Crucial (the iMac supports 32 GB of RAM) > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/iMac/2012_27/DDR3L

Hello I thought that I had ordered a photo book in aperture this morning but not sure that the order has gone through as I have not had a confirmation email,
t I am currently in canada and trying to get the book sent to Australia. Im not sure if apple is picking up my location and that is having any affect on it?
The AppleID you are using to buy the book, must be tied to the location of the store where you are ordering the book from. Is your AppleID associated with an australian address? And are you placing the order at the Australian store? The Canadian store will not shiptoAustralia, see these policies: http://www.apple.com/internetservices/terms/sales_policies.html
Also set the "Region" in the language & Text preferences to "Australia", while you are ordering.

Hi. It's the one with the 1" slot, approx, at the bottom next to the earphone plug. It's 8gb with a switch at the top left corner. Not sure if it's a 4th or 5th Gen as I've lost box too (Wife has had a clean out again) and it's not marked on the actual iPod. Thanks.

Printer needs static IP address - I think I know what to do, but not sure
I got a new HP 8500A wireless network printer. I have used a US Robotics MAXg wireless router (Model 5461A) for years with zero issues. I have 2 Windows XP PRO computers, and 1 Windows 7 Home Premium. (Plus the Wii, a Kindle, Blu-Ray player, and couple cell phones at various times on the network.)
When I first installed it, the IP address was 192.168.2.9. Today, one of my XP computers couldn't find it, and the IP address had changed to 192.168.2.4. (I have no idea why the other two computers caught the change.) My understanding is that I need to give the printer a static IP address.
My Router status page says that the DHCP server uses a range from .2 to .31.
Therefore, this is what I think I need to do:
In my printer network settings, I need to change from "automatic" to "Manual" with the following values:
IP = 192.168.2.32
Subnet = 255.255.255.0 (from router LAN status page)
Default Gateway = 192.168.2.1 (from router LAN status page)
DNS server = 192.168.2.1 (from router LAN status page)
Alternate DNS server = ?? I have no idea for this one
Then I have to re-install the printer on all three computers with the new static IP, right?
Do I do anything to the router?You have it right. For ease of input, use the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS). Type the current IP into a browser from any of the PC's and you will see it. Navigate to the Networking tab, then choose IPv4 on the left (or similar, there are getting to be a lot of variations in the EWS structure).
Leave the second DNS server blank. You should not have to do anything in the router, except perhaps reboot it with its power cord to issue the new IP.
After that you should be able to delete the printer in the PC's control panel and then re-add them.

Hello. I ordered an iPhoto book last week to give to my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. Tonight, I just checked on the order status and found that my book is cancelled. I received no notification about it, and all I could do was fill out the online form, so customer service will get back to me on Monday via email (if I'm lucky...). There is no telephone number for me to call about this. I decided I'd best do some searching to try to figure out what had happened.
I had thought that the preview I saw in iPhoto was the preview of the book. I found out I was wrong. So I created a PDF preview of the book and found some craziness that I don't understand. In iPhoto (and any other program, i.e. PhotoShop), my photos are fine. They are mostly TIFF format and high resolution with a few high res JPEGs. However, when I view the PDF, there is a band of black and white pixelation about 1/2-inch across the bottom of some pages - not all. The photos in that area are messed up in that band zone. The other photos are totally unaffected. This affects both TIFF and JPEG photos, and both black and white and color.
Has anyone else had this problem, and what was your solution? I would be extremely grateful to anyone for advice or information about this! The anniversary party is less than a week away and I'm beyond my limit of stress right now...Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new library. Import enough photos for a book (use some of those in the current book) create a new book and preview as a PDF. If you don't see the problem then it's limited to your library which may be damaged. If that's the case make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot and the option to rebuild the small thumbnails.

If you get the same problem in the test library then log into another user account on your Mac, create a test library and try it there. If the problem shows up there a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

If you don't encounter the problem in the other user account then it's something in your account that's the culprit. Post back with the results.

the base model should work just fine. I would suggest
that if you go with the base model, bump the RAM
up to at least 4gig, but get it at Newegg or direct from
Crucial or Kingston, it will be way cheaper. -

I am not sure that I deleted Iphoto, but Iphoto desapeared. I don't have original disc. Can you, please help me , to find it somewhere on my mac?
The iPhoto application should be in your applications folder
If you have removed it and your computer came with restore disks then you will need them to reinstall. Or you can purchase a version on DVD or from the App Store. Apple my be able to reace missing restore disks for a nominal charge

I have an older iPhone (3gs) and need to upgrade to a newer phone (4S). I need to get my NOTES, CALENDAR, CONTACTS, PICTURES, etc backed up on iTunes so I can get that data loaded onto the new phone. But not sure how to do that. When I open iTunes it has a button that say "Back Up iPhone", but I'm not sure what that does. When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

I buy for mac app but not for the iPad, so how do I reinstall a program that has already purchased? I need help because I bought the imovie'11 but when he opened it only brought 8 movie trailer templates instead of the 15 it says on the program. How do I solve this problem? Once paid for a program incomplete. I receive both My husbands emails and mine through my ipad. We both have gmail accounts. His emails are coming down on the ipad but not mine. I haven't received mail since Saturday. We use the email for business I desperately need it and I don't have a laptop anymore as it is broken. In my wisdom I desired to buy an ipad instead, what a mistake.
The iPad will support multiple Gmail accounts, but of course you have to set each one up individually. Did you set up both accounts? Go into Settings/ Mail, Contacts, Calendars to confirm both accounts exist. If they do, also familiarize yourself on how to navigate between accounts to make sure you can view your Inbox. You may also want to check your settings to make sure that you have the default account set up as you expect for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes (if you're using all those features). That is important only when initiating something new, you have to have a default account to do such a thing so make sure the default is your account since it is your iPad (assuming that's what you want).
Alternatively, install the free Gmail app and then use only his (or your) account with that app and use the standard iOS Mail app for the other account.
