Help needed in SRM upgrade to SRM server 5.0

Experts,
My client is on EBP 2.0 and going for an upgrade to SRM Server 5.0 and working on classic scenario and keeping the backend as 4.6C for this phase of the project. Please share any experiences on how to go about the upgrade, any questionaries, methodologies also I would like to know the major differences between EBP 2.0 and SRM 5.0.

  • Urgent.... Help Needed for Storing file in Application Server

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where in I have to save a file in Application Server.
    File is of 141 Character Length, so there can be spaces left at the end.
    When I am downloading the file into Application Sever and then downloading the same file from Application Server to Presentation into a notepad then the spaces at the end are truncating.
    I want that the file that is generated should be of 141 character though if there may be spaces at the end.
    It will be great if you can help me out in this.

    when downloading to App server, you need to specify the LENGTH option on your TRANSFER ststement to keep fixed length.  You must also use a STRING type variable in your transfer.
    From Documentation on Transfer command:
    <b>If the file was opened as a text file or a legacy text file, the trailing blank characters are deleted for all data objects, except for those of data type string. The line end marker defined when the file was opened is then added to the remaining content of the data object or to the result of the conversion, and the final result is written byte-by-byte to the file.</b>
    There also used to be a problem with WS_DOWNLOAD - you had to do the following:
    Maintaining Trailing spaces when downloading to PC
    Before calling DOWNLOAD or WS_DOWNLOAD, do a perform SET_TRAIL_BLANKS(saplgrap) using 'X'
    To set the length of each record including your blanks add this code: perform SET_FIXLEN(saplgrap) using '0' '100'
    Don't think this is needed any more.

  • Help needed~~~~~Can't upgrade to v 2.0

    To all Nokia friends. I recently got a new N97 and I just upgraded it to v 12.2.024 the other day via NSU running on Window 7 OS. After I learned that new firmware v 20 or above is released , I desperately want it and try to upgrade via my phone (dial *#0000#) it didn't work (the message appeared and said "No updates available" ???). I also try to upgrade via NSU and it keeps telling me that the only upgrade available is v 12.2.024 (which I already have). Does anyone know how to deal with this problem? I feel so left out when I found that v 20 and above is already out. Thanks in advance.  

    Hi again. Thanks for the advice and help but there is still no new update (v. 20) appear when I tried it today. Is it because of the Window 7 OS that make the update unavailable or is there anything to do with "Server Profile" (when I dialed *#0000#  and choose "option") and it said "No Service Profile"???
    I will try to use the other PC either Vista or XP to update it again.

  • Help needed to setup to Network Print Server

    Hi,
    I am trying to configure the following to print from my Mac:
    D-Link DP-301U USB print server
    HP Color LaserJet 3500
    MacBook Core Duo OS X 10.4.8
    Very little information is available on both D-Link and HP website.
    The D-Link installation guide says to install via AppleTalk.
    AppleTalk has been activated on my AirPort as well as on the Web configuration of Print Server. However I cannot see any printer on adding a printer.
    In the Add Printer Browser, I can see my print server on Bonjour. When selected, I am supposed to choose my HP printer, but it is no on the HP printer list.
    Only Generic PostScript can be selected, however when printing, it prints our garbage.

    A long time ago, I worked on a print spooler and was lent a JetDirect
    box from HP to test with. A JetDirect card is in your LaserJet, I believe.
    (One of the protocols it supported was localtalk, BTW). I think the
    d-link isn't forwarding your localtalk packets. Anyway, one of the
    things I remember is that the JetDirect spoke PCL, so that's another
    consideration a driver has to deal with. The garbage you're seeing
    is raw postscript. It needs to be rasterized and translated to PCL.
    Please bear with me, my experience is very old, and there are gaps
    in my knowledge. But I think this is do-able. I think the first step is
    to add the printer directly by clicking here,
    The location of the printer should be the address of the print server
    (or canonical name if you're ever going to change addresses). The
    device should be appsocket/jetdirect. The device uri should be
    socket://nameoripaddressofdevice. The make should be HP and
    the model/driver should be one of the Laserjet series, gimp-print.
    I don't know which one, my experience ended around Laserjet 5, and
    so do the drivers! But fundamentally they have to do the same thing.
    They use the gimp-print package to rasterize the postscript and
    encapsulate it into PCL. So I would bet the LaserJet 6 driver will work.
    I'm sure everything posted here is correct, and that my experience
    is too old and I don't know enough to know why this won't work,
    but it's not a lot of effort, and if I were you I'd give it a try.

  • VCM installation help needed on SQL DB and Reporting server

    Hi All,
    I'm new to VCM and now i got stuck at the SQL DB and Report server portion.
    I'm running the vcm server on VM and the SQL is a physical server, both are sitting on the same LAN.
    I have create the SQL DB but VCM just fail to validate the DB and report server.
    I login to VCM using a Domain account for installation, and i tried to testing the DB using ODBC from the window, result fail.
    Error message as attach.
    I'm now totally lost on SQL portion.
    My Question:
    Is there any configuration needed on SQL DB?
    How to get the reporting server to working?
    What port is needed to it all working??
    VCM server Ms Win2012.
    SQL version 2012.

    Hi Simonhoo79,
    For SSRS,   first check whether the report server link is accessible from your browser : "http://s01-fes-vcm1:80/ReportServer" . If you continue to get 404 error there also, then you need to reconfigure you report server first before proceeding to vcm installation. Follow the steps on below link on how to reconfigure report server using report services configuration Manager for 404 error.

    For SQL server ODBC connection,
    Dont create ODBC connection for SQL Native Client. Create ODBC connection for SQL Server.
    1. Open ODBC Data Source Administrator
    2. Click User DSN tab and Click Add button.
    3. Select SQL server and click finish
    4. Give name and description and Give the SQL server name (with instance name if your using named instance) or IP in the Server text box.
    5. Click Next and select either Windows authentication or sql authentication based on your SQL server authentication mode and click next.
    6. If the details given are correct then it will proceed further and  check "Change the dafault database to" to your VCM database
    7. Click next and finish and try test data source.
    VCM 5.7.2 and below will support installation only on windows server 2008 R2  and it doesn't support windows server 2012  but it support both 2008 and 2012 sql servers.

    I m currently trying to configure web application with sun web server7.0 on solaris machine in 64 bit mode.
    I compiled source with -m64 which generated 64 bit for me. And m using the generated library to configure by editin magnus.config.....
    Same things are working in 32 bit..

    looks like , the server is unable to find libgcc (or any of its dependent libraries in the path ) and hence unable to load.
    now, you can address this in multiple ways
    - export LD_LIBRARY_PATH to your 64-bit location of libgcc libraries
    1.
    for eg on solaris 10, you can do something like
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/sfw/lib/sparcv9 (or amd64)
    you will need to do this every time to start the server.
    or
    2. use Studio 11 to compile this NSAPI plugin.
    this way, you don't have to worry about manually exporting LD_LIBRARY_PATH while starting the server.

    Now it doesnt ask to delete the corrupted packages, but gives this error directly.

  • Help needed! Since upgrading to ios 6 I can't access my contact group lists.

    I can still access the screen with the list of the names of my groups, but if I touch one, it deselects it (checkmark disappears) rather than sending me to this list.  This also means I cannot add a contact withing a group list. (When I can, this helps significantly to keep my contacts more organized.)

    There is so many issues with IOS 6. Have no idea why Apple never tested this os. It's a massive faliour.

    That is bad advice. What if the apps the OP wants to run don't have Mavericks versions or don't work properly on Mavericks? Sure it is free but the old saying stands true, "There is NO FREE LUNCH".

  • Upgrading Mail from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 Server - Help Needed, Please

    I posted a message a few weeks back with regard to this topic, but have had no replies. I don't seem to be any further on in solving this on my own, so I'm posting again in the hope that someone will be able to assist.
    I have an Xserve G4 running 10.3.9 which is a Open Directory Master, PDC and also acts as a Mail Server for our domain. The system software is installed on one 60gb drive in the Xserve and the Mail Store is on a second drive. All the Windows clients can log into the domain and their mail is on IMAP using Outlook as their client.
    I am now installing a second server in another office, and obviously this will be a new XServe running 10.4. I would like to make this an Open Directory Replica but now need to upgrade the first server to 10.4 before I can do this.
    Each attempt has been at the start of a weekend when staff have gone home, so that I can shutdown Mail and clone the Mail Store before proceeding.
    My first attempt was to install a new 10.4 installation onto a drive module and then attempt to upgrade the Mail. I removed the original 10.3.9 startup drive and I cloned the mail store drive before attempting and then followed the instructions given in this article:-

    When running the first part of this script, I get a socket error and don't seem to be able to get beyond this point.
    Next, I atttempted a straightforward upgrade. To do this, I again cloned the Mail Store onto another Drive Module, and so that I could roll back in case of problems, I also cloned the startup drive. Once this was done, I then removed the original drives for safety, booted and proceeded to upgrade the Server software from 10.3.9 to 10.4 performing all updates along the way.
    When I first booted, I had quite a lot of errors, DNS zones hadn't come over, and I had to kerberize the system, but after doing this and several restarts to cure other problems, all seemed to be OK, but then when I invoked Windows services and tried to log into the domain from a PC client, it failed saying the Domain Controller wasn't available, and the server log shows "Broken Pipe" errors and I cannot seem to resolve these issues. Server admin, also now loses connection with various services at intermittant times and I have to reboot.
    So, my conclusion is that the 10.3.9 installation on this server is way too flaky to be upgraded and I must find another way.
    Ideally, what I would like to do, is install a brand new 10.4 system onto the server, setting up DNS, Open Directory etc etc ensuring that my clients can log into the domain (copying their profile to the new account if necessary) and then upgrade the Mail once it is all stable. Can anyone help me with this by giving me a step by step guide? I am willing to pay for someone who knows how to do this if they can help me with a guide or perhaps even provide remote assistance.

    They've never heard of a G4? That's shocking, perhaps you shouldn't go there anymore :P.
    OS X 10.5 requires at least an 867 MHz G4, unfortunately. You can upgrade to OS X Tiger (10.4) though (Just run software update after installation to get to 10.4.11).
    You can find Tiger cheap on eBay or the likes, note you must buy the full retail version which looks like this:
