Help needed! - Lost firewire on Audigy c

Hi there,
I've been running an early Audigy PCI card on a 200 Athelon (OS is XP Pro) in the lounge as a home theatre system for some time.
The firewire port has always functioned properly. I use is a lot to connect other dri'ves, etc.
I'm not sure of the circumstances of when it ceased to work or what may have triggered it, but although it's seen in hardware as being AOK, whenever i plug a dri've or burner in, it just will not trigger and show the device.
The external firewire cages and dri'ves show up fine on my other computer.
Both have XP SP2 on them.
I've just caught a hint searching Google, that there may have been a problem with this cards firewire and SP2, but i'm not sure if that's really the problem.
Some guidance or means of testing would be really appreciated.

hey ppl,
i've got a Zen touch 20GB MP3 player, but i installed the CD on my old computer, now the old computer has broken down an i cant find the cd to install it on my new computer. So i cant upload songs on my zen no more, i've got the manual but not the cd.
Does any one know of any downloads or anythin that could help me out ...plzzz help!!!

You can get the downloads you need through Support> Downloads. You'll need to download drivers and an application to use the player (like MediaSource). If you install MediaSource, you'll need the right plug-in for the application aswell.
There is a section in the FAQ aswell that refers to "if you lost your CD", it should cover the information you need.

Urgent help needed, lost password.

Ive got a mac mini running tiger and I was never setup a password, when I installed stuff I just hit enter. However, today my little cousin came and started messing around with my computer, by the time I realize what he is doing the computer is rebooting. Next thing I know, theres a login window with my username and asking me for a password, which I obviously didnt set... I hit enter but the window shakes telling me its wrong.
My little cousin does not remember what he set at all, which I find hard to believe since you have to verify the password, still, he is just 5 years old and its clear that he does not remember anything.
I urgently need to access my computer as its my main work pc, is there anyway to reset the password? or retreive it or something.
Any help will be appreciated.

Create a new user account and see if things work there. If so, you can move your files there. If not, you may have to reinstall OSX. Be sure to create a separate, non-administrator, account for your young computer genius, and set the firmware password. Don't ever leave the computer with any other account active. You can use Fast User Switching to go to the login window if you want to stay logged in. That way he can go to his account, or you can continue in your account (with your password).

Desperate Help Needed - Lost Hard Drive

The story goes ....
Last night I added a new account to my G5Imac and put some parental controls on and everything seemed fine.
I logged out of that and went back to log into my account (administrator account) and everything fine.
Shut down the computer and logged in this morning into my account and I have lost all my photos, movies and music etc.
I have checked the Hard Drive and it says that out of the 240GB I have 65GB left which would suggest that all my stuff is there somewhere.
Can anyone help me on this ?
I dont fancy losing 4,000 photos and 40GB of music !!!

Try logging out.
Log back in under the original administrator of the "amystest" Mac.
From amystest you should be able to see NEIL'S MAC.

** HELP NEEDED ** Lost everything on iTunes !

Hope someone can help me !
I opened itunes tonight and when it opened, it was like it opened for the very first time after installing. No music or apps etc! The "Itunes setup wizard box also opens" - (this box has opened the last few times ive opend itunes but when i click cancel, my library is there !
why would everything get deleted and itunes open as if i have just installed it ?
Can I get everything back to how it was ?
If not, i have all my music files on my laptop however i will have lost apps and music that I have paid for from the app store ?

I checked my recycle bin and nothing is there. I had a friend of mine who is a programmer and has been fixing bugs for 10 years look at this thing and he said he's never seen anything like it. He thinks they're there, because something has to be taking up all the hard drive space, but can't find it anywhere. Also if this helps at the time I had my Dell hooked up to my new iMac trying to transfer files. I'm not the most computer savvy guy but I tried. I don't think I succeeded with the transfer because I can't find the files on the Mac anywhere. But I'm not to good with the Mac yet. Also the Mac hard drive is 240 GB and shows only 215 GB available. This may be normal, but I haven't put anything on the Mac. Maybe the included software is that large, I don't know. Well thanks for your input.

In any case I would suggest to get an audio interface which is *Core Audio* compatible. This means that you just need to plug it in and it will work with OS X’s integrated driver. I once had an M-Audio interface which needed its own driver and it had latency problems because of them. I am currently using the EDIROL FA-66 with 10.6.3 on my MacBook Pro. I have also heard good things about the FireWire interfaces from Presonus, like the FireBox.

Urgent help needed!!
Tonight I was taking extremely important photos throughout an event on my iPhone 4, however, my iPhone 4 ran out of battery once I was near a charger I plugged it in and for some reason my iPhone had reset itself. Back up icloud options were from yesterday, but the photos that I was taking at the event are needed urgently. Is there any way possible I can recover the photos that were taken?

Yeah, I've lost my SB Audigy installation CD, and after a recent format I can't install AudioHQ, Creative Recorder, PlayCenter and all that software - I just have the drivers, which I downloaded from the internet. Is there any chance to have my microphone working again? Becasue ATM it does not work, I bet I need some software from the insallation CD to get it to work, but I no longer have that CD! Can I download what I need from the internet? Can I somehow get another insallation CD? Finally, will it work if I plug my microphone into my motherboard's integrated soundcard, and my headphones into SB Audigy? Help me... I'm gonna have an important UT2004 scrimmage soon, and without a mic I'm useless there!

URGENT HELP NEEDED - iPhone 3Gs no longer detected or charged by MacBook

My iPhone 3Gs (3.1) has been running fine, until several hours ago today, when I plugged it to my MacBook, the iPhone is no longer detected - it doesn't show up in iTunes, nor it is charged. I tried opening iPhoto, and it wasn't there too. Not with Image Capture too. I tried charging it using the out-of-box wall charger using the same out-of-box USB cable I use for MacBook, and it can be charged without any problem. Then I put it into Recovery mode, and there iTunes can see it. I don't want to restore it before I figure out exactly what went wrong, as I don't want the restore process somehow gets stuck in the middle that the connection is lost again.
I've tried reinstalled iTunes, including completely removal of Apple Mobile Device Support, as instructed by Apple. But still no luck.
I've tried switching to another USB port of my MacBook. No luck.
My iTunes is the latest 9.0.1, and my Mac OSX is 10.6.1. My iPhone is on 3.1, upgraded from 3.0.
I've read from web that it seems I'm not the only one out there having this problem. But none of them seem having any real working solution.
Urgent help needed & appreciated. Millions of thanks in advance.

1. I used both cables - theirs & mine ... and on several macs
2. yes, same cable for wall & mac
3. as said, i did completely remove & install itunes (incl. apple mobile device support), as instructed on the apple webpage
anyway, did a restore just now. it seems okay now. but the problem is i have no idea what cause this, and i can't replicate the problem. so i don't know when it will happen again ... maybe a bug with os 3.1 ... others on web said os 3.1 is quite buggy ...

Lost Firewire suport during upgrade OS X Server 10.3.9

After loading OS Xserver 10.x install discs on my Dual G4 Quicktime Broadcaster worked fine and the 400 firewire port worked. However, after performing all the "APPLE RECOMENDED UPGRADES" I now have no firewire port working. Thus quicktime broadcaster or does Quicktime "PRO" 7.1.1." work anymore from my firewire port. I've repaired permissions and performed a single user fsck on the drive. The Software has been reloaded several times with same result. Firmware is up-to-date on the G4. Verified my DV firewire source on my G5 and works great! Can't think of anything else to try.
I see previous lost firewire questions have gone unresolved or un-answered. Does anyone have a fix?

Thanks, I didn't think of resetting the pram and nv ram. That was a good suggestion. However, it didn't help. I also booted the G4 as a firewire drive and connected it to my G5 and that worked. So now I'm totally confused.
Does anyone know any unix commands for checking the firewire port status. I'm starting to think there is a pgm conflict.

Help! Which firewire for migration

Just bought a new iMac - and didn't know about needing a firewire to transfer info from my old Mac (the cute little egg one). I've been to Best Buy TWICE - first I got a six pin firewire which would work in my old computer but not my new one. Went BACK to Best Buy with a PHOTO of the firewire port on my new computer and the "geek guy" said, "Oh, it's a FOUR pin." So, I bought a 6/4 firewire. But the 4 firewire portion doesn't fit????? ARRRGGGGGHHHH. Help!

The new iMac has Firewire 800 only, and that's a 9 pin connection and won't fit the 6 and 4 pin connector used by firewire 400.
You'll either need to look on line for an 800 to 400 cable or get an adapter such as this:
