Help needed on publishing a movie

I published a 2 hours movie to iDVD (it took 5 hours btw) and i still can't create an iDVD. When i am in iDVD (create a new project) It shows me the movis in my iMovie projects, but it also says "you must first publish this movie before you can use it in iMovie".
Why didn't it work the 1st time?

I tell how I do it.
A. in iMovie - I do not "Share to iDVD" as result will suffer - I "Share to Media Browser" and as Large (Not HD or any other resolution)
B. iDVD is limited - NOT in Gbs or physical size of movie - BUT in time - so a 2 hour movie is more than iDVD can put onto a SL-DVD (but a DL-DVD can take it if right encoding quality is selected)
Time = Movie duration PLUS Menu (and menu can be up to 15 minutes - I use a very simple one "Brushed Metal" from old themes and No Audio and No Animations - takes about 1 minutes and leave 119 to my moves)
iDVD 08, 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities. (version 7.0.1, 7,0.4 & 7.1.1) and iDVD 6 has the two last ones
• Professional Quality
(movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST (but not always for short movies e.g. up to 45 minutes in total)
• Best Performances
(movies + menus less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD (Can be best for short movies)
• High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6)
(movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
Menu can take 15 minutes or even more - I use a very simple one with no audio or animation like ”Brushed Metal” in old Themes.
About double on DL DVDs.
C. in iDVD I import my movie from the Media button down Right and from here - Movies. Now You find it in the list and can drag it into the big Menu Window to the Left.
D. I secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on the Start-Up (Mac OS) Hard Disk - iDVD and Mac OS needs this during process and it can not be used on any other hard disks.
E. I then Save as a DiskImage (under File) and test this so it runs OK
F. Then burn with iDVD (new re-calculating time) or from DiskImage by using Disk Util tool. It can not just be copied on DeskTop - If done so You get a Data-DVD and it will not play in any DVD-Player.

I am new to JMS and need help to configure JMS from the sun admin console. As of now i have configured the topic and the connection factory from the JMS Resources under the Resources tab(here too i just specified the topic name and guest and password and jndi and similarly the connection factory name but have not specified any port or anything else), but i guess something is missing as i can publish but cannot subscribe nor can i view the messages on the topic..I think some sort of configuration is also need on the Java Message Service header under the Configuration tab.I have searched for this on the net but have not been able to find any sort of detailed help.If someone could give a detailed picture as too how to go about this configuration with an example it would be of great help.

Help needed in Loading Mutiple movies in ScrollPane

Hi I am making video gallery using Action Script 3.0.I am
loading some FLVs into movies on my stage using XML. I have
on-click events on those movies.I have combined those all movies
into one movie to put in the scroll pane. The movie is fine fitted
in the scroll pane with the scrolls (which i needed )but the
problem I have is that all the on click events which were on the
individual movies are gone. The reason might be that because the
on-click events were on individual movies, and movies are now
combined in one. If anybody tells me how to load multiple
movies(collectively) in the scroll pane, that can solve my problem
because in that way movies can be inserted in the scroll pane
without combining all the movie into one and events will stay there
too.
Any other suggestion will be also be appreciated.
Please help me out in figuring out the solution of this
problem.

I am surprised with your steps. In APO, you want to load data from a particular infoobject from BW. Why did you create a specific extractor in SBIW???
You have just reinvented the wheel... It reminds me some people in the world ...
Here is what you should do:
- in BW, at the infosource level, you create a direct infosource based on the infoobject that you want to extract the data to APO (let's say 0MATERIAL)
- in BW, at the infosource level, you right click on the infosource itself and you choose 'GENERATE EXPORT DATASOURCE. That will create the datasources for you (attributes, texts, hierarchies) depending on the infoobject settings. The names of these datasources will begin with a 8 for the datamart
- in APO, you replicate the BW system. Now you find the datasources 80MATERIAL something
- in APO, you create the transfer rules to your infosource and you can load

Help needed to publish site via 1and1 instead of Mobileme

Hi - I'm far from a computer whiz, and am struggling to publish my iWeb site via 1and1 using my newly registered personal domain name... When I do the test connection on the iWeb page, it tells me sth is wrong, but I have no idea what!?!? The details I have on there are:
Server Address: ftp.1and1.com (don't know if this is correct though, or if this should be my personal domain name??? - 1and1 are the hosting site for me)
User name and password as per my details for 1and1
Directory/Path: www/ (don't know if this is right either, or how to find out??)
Protocol: FTP
When I click on Test connection - I get the message : Testing Failed. A connection to ftp.1and1.com couldn't be established. Verify your settings and try again. (I get the same thing if I change the server address to my domain name)

Help needed on how to move caption

when I select print with the caption option the caption is about 5cms below bottom of picture so doesn't print.
how do I reposition the caption into the margin or even on the photo please?
i Am printing to postcard size. The picture looks fine in preview but the caption is well below the frame.

Flash 8 problem publishing to mov file

Hi,
I'm trying to create a mov file and I get an error message stating that I need to publish my movie in version 5 or before. After changing that setting, I still get the same error message? I've tried: downloading the latest quicktime, reinstalling flash 8, and rebooting. All have been unsuccessful. Any Ideas?

Take one of the old SWF files and rename it to the name you
should be getting with the publish....
Actually that makes me think, go into the publish settings
and check the name and location you are trying to publish to.
Perhaps click the restore defaults or use default names or whatever
the button says.
After that go back to my first thought, take one of the old
ones and duplicated it to be the name you would expect in the
location you would expect. Then try and publish and see if it
deleted or if it remains.

iDVD is no longer supported by Apple and does not come pre-loaded on new Macs.

Alternatively, you can purchase a boxed version of iLife '11 from Apple, Amazone, etc. Boxed versions come with iDVD and iWeb still on the disk.

Urgence!!! I have my folio producer tools up to date and we tried to publish yesterday and we realized that we didnt update the app.... But we need to publish it today. What should I do...? Should I uninstall the folio producer tools and installing and older one? Please help me!

Just an idea...
What about making an empty new publication with the newer version and then, from inside the web viewer dashboard in Folio Producer (that is, web browser folio producer) add there the old stories of the old one ?
So, you would quickly get your publication assembled in Adobe's with all the metadata and thumbnails to download that as the zip to be sent to Apple's.
May be it's not a good idea, but just in case.

Need help : for changing the flv movie size

i am loading my flv thogh xml link if load my flv the same
size what i kept in my folder using script shall i change the movie
size because lot of movies is loads dynmicaly i cannot go and

Okay so i went out and I bought a yamaha 630BL reciever, a digital coaxial s/pdif, and a 3.5mm phono plug to fit perfectly to my XFI Extreme Music
-The audio plays fine and reports as a PCM stream when I play it normally, but I can't get dolby digital or DTS to enable for some reason eventhough I bought the DDL & DTS Connect Pack for $4.72
When I click dolby digital li've in DDL it jumps back up to off and has this [The operation was unsuccessful. Please try again or reinstall the application].

I also have a question on 5. and Vista 64
-When I game I normally use headphones in game mode or 2. with my headphones, the reason for this is if I set it on 5. I get sounds coming out of all of the wrong channels.
Now when I watch movies or listen to music I switch to 5. sound in entertainment mode, but to make this work properly I have to open CMSS-3D. I then change it from xpand to stereo and put the slider at even center for 50%. If I use the default xpand mode the audio is way off coming out of all of the wrong channels.
How do I make 5. render properly on vista

We ended up getting iTunes cleanly uninstalled and were able to re-install without issue. All is now mostly well.

help needed with itunes please tryed to move my itunes libary to my external hard drive itunes move ok and runs fin but i have none of my music or apps or anything all my stuff is in the itunes folder on my external hard drive but there is nothing on ituns how do i get it back help,please

(Make sure the Music (top left) library is selected before beginning this.)
If you have bad song links in your library, hilite them and hit the delete button. Then locate the folder(s) where your music is located and drag and drop into the large library window in iTunes ( where your tracks show up). This will force the tunes into iTunes. Before you start, check your preferences in iTunes specifically under the"Advanced" tab, general settings. I prefer that the 1st 2 boxes are unchecked. (Keep iTunes Music folder organized & Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library). They are designed to let iTunes manage your library. I prefer to manage it myself. Suit yourself. If there is a way for iTunes to restore broken links other than locating one song at a time I haven't found it yet. (I wish Apple would fix this, as I have used that feature in other apps.) This is the way I do it and I have approx. 25,000 songs and podcasts and videos at present. Hope this helps.

Urgent help needed with un-removable junk mail that froze Mail?
I had 7 junk mails come in this morning, 5 went straight to junk and 2 more I junked.
When I clicked on the Junk folder to empty it, it froze Mail and I can't click on anything, I had to force quit Mail and re-open it. When it re-opens the Junk folder is selected and it is froze, I can't do anything.
I repaired permissions, it did nothing.
I re-booted my computer, on opening Mail the In folder was selected, when I selected Junk, again, it locks up Mail and I can't select them to delete them?
Anyone know how I can delete these Junk mails from my Junk folder without having to open Mail to do it as it would appear this will be the only solution to the problem.

If you hold the Shift key when opening the mail app, it will start up without any folders selected & no emails showing. Hopefully this will enable you to start Mail ok.
Then from the Mail menus - choose Mailbox-Erase Junk Mail . The problem mail should now be in the trash. If there's nothing you want to retain from the Trash, you should now choose Mailbox- Erase Deleted Messages....
If you need to double-check the Trash for anything you might want to retain, then view the Trash folder first, before using Erase Junk Mail & move anything you wish to keep to another folder.
The shift key starts Mail in a sort of Safe mode.

Conversion help needed.

Hi everybody. I'm new to the forum, and need your assistance.
I've recently purchased a Sony 30GB hardrive camcorder and I'm having
problems editing the movies in iMovie HD. The problem is that the camera
records movies in MPEG2 format, and in order for me to edit anything, I
need to convert the movie into MPEG4 format. I was wondering if anybody
could recomend a third party conversion software 'cause Apple doesn't
have anything like that? (so I've been told). Any help would be much
appreciated.

in order … to edit anything, I need to convert the movie into MPEG4 format.
no, you need to convert to "dv", only format storing every frame without (almost) any loss of pic information.. (mpegs are lossy, a delivery format)
choose, in recommended order:
* DVDxDV (free trial, 25$)
* Apple mpeg2 plugin (20$) + Streamclip (free)
* Cinematize >60$
* Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
* Toast6/7 allows converting to dv/import file, hit apple-k
