Help needed P35 NEO

Hi
Have a P35 Neo happily running a Intel Dual 2.66. Have recently been given a Pentium D 945 Processor (all tested and working) although my board says this is supported cannot get anything except blank screen on boot up. Chip does appear to get hot so am guessing it is definitely firing.
Advice gratefully received as due to emigrate in 4 four so not got a lot of time to get this sorted.
Cheers

Cheers for the help
Have successfully updated Bios to 1.A but still no joy with the processor - no bios screen.
Only clue I get is when putting my old processor back in I get the message "overclocking failed - load default settings (or something very similar).
Cant think of anything else to try as I dont have  another board I can check the new cpu against, although its old owner does assure me that it was working.
Going to return and get it checked or maybe just ask for my cash back. Shame would have been nice to have things running a bit quicker.

  • NEED HELP w/ P35 Neo Combo and Windows XP Install Stop 0x24 error BSOD

First a little background, in case it's relevant:
I was running a 865PE Neo2 with 4 x 1gig Corsair DDR2 6400.  Otherwise, same specs as below. Ran it for 2 years without a hitch, then got a virus that corrupted my profile and had trouble booting, logging on, and persistent virus messages.  Long story short, I fried the BIOS and decided to replace the mobo and upgrade the memory, keeping the rest of the system intact.  I previously had windows installed on both partitions of the HDD but changed the name of the directory for Windows on the C: drive so it would boot from the D: drive.
I have replaced 865PE with the P35 and changed the boot sequence to boot from CD.  The BIOS loads fine, and I get to the windows setup screen ok.  Whether I opt for Recovery Console, or a new install of Windows, I get a BSOD error message below.
    STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FA, 0xf7906700, 0xf7906400, 0xf7103bef)
    ntfs.sys Address F7103BEF base at F709f00, Datestamp 3d6de5c1
I tried with both new and old memory (in the right slots) and get the same message.  I booting with no memory because I read in another post that the system should beep to indicate no memory and there was no beep.
BIOS recognizes the HDD, CPU and Memory so not sure what the problem is.  Should I try taking the HDD out and reformatting it on another PC? (not easy since I don't have another desktop pc) Please help with some suggestions.  Thank you.

I didn't know that the P35 Neo board ran ddr3...
That's where the 'Combo' part in the name comes into play, 2 DDR2 or 2 DDR3.
    From MSI description of MB:
    Main Memory
    • Supports two unbuffered DIMM of 1.8 Volt DDR2 667/800 SDRAM. (Max: 4GB)
    • Supports two unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066 SDRAM. (Max: 4GB)

  • Help for P35 neo -F vcore regulator

Hello to everyone, this is my first post in this forum...
I bought a MSI P35 Neo-F motherboard for a friend of mine. It's a nice and cheap mobo, all run fine but as I tried to overclock the cpu ( a good and cheap E2180) I couldn't modify cpu vcore!!!! Yes, in the right submenu I selected cpu vcore, I chose a value ( for example 1.40) I clicked enter, I saved with F10. All looks like well, but as I run cpu-z under windows  I read ALWAYS vcore 1.325!!!!!! ( every values I choose in submneu cpu vcore!!!!)
I tried grey default values and white  High values but it is the same thing.
Well, although this, my E2180 run @ 2700Mhz fine, rock solid ( 8 hours of orthos blend test and others 8 hours of orthos small test  + twice superPI 32M) but I disappoint because I can't change cpu core as I like. Why?
    This is my system

Just to make sure:  Have you cleared CMOS with main A/C power cable removed from PSU after flashing? If not, please do that.  It should be done after every BIOS Flash.

    Good
    - I can increase the Vcore.
    - Vcore doesn't increase automatically when the FSB is rose.
    Quote
    Bad
    - It still has bad OCing potential with my E4500, i can only get 2.5GHz with default Vcore
(many people have reported d same problem, so please don't say it's because my CPU is bad)
Keep in mind that the P35 Neo is a budget board.  It was not really designed for OC use.
That said, I am curious about your current BIOS settings (FSB/Memory Ratio, Memory Timings, Memory Voltage, EIST, Spread Spectrum etc.).  All of them may have an impact.  Maybe some of these settings could be optimized to OC the system a little more.  However, we should not discuss these things here.  The Overclockers & Modding Corner is a more suited place for stuff like that.

  • Please to help rookie with quad core on P35 Neo 2 (MS-7345)

I bought a home built computer (specs below) for my sons almost a year ago and have had nothing but trouble with it.  After I finally realized that the graphics card was over-heating it worked better for a bit after replacing Radeon 9600 with some crappy one.  Then I reinstalled XP and seem to have lost drivers for some of the functions of the MB like sound and networking.  Presently it is an impressive looking paperweight with fantastic specs.
It does boot to XP and has internet connection now that I stuck in a NIC card.
I was foolish enough to install and run microsoft genuine advantage and, because it didn't pass, have to read about it every boot and login.  So I'd like to reinstall XP again.
I do have System info for Windows (SIW) installed.
I bought system so sons could play Call of Duty 4.  When I try to launch COD it gives message:
    "Error during initialization:
    Miles sound system initialization failed.
Make sure you have your sound card's latest drivers and DirectX installed."
I have installed latest DirectX but do not know what to do about sound card as it is function of MB, I think.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as to next steps or what further info I would need to gather to solve.
    Thank you!

Thank you again for that page.  I had looked (in vain) for this because I did not receive the MSI cd with this computer.
    http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1213
I dl'd all of the files and began to install from the bottom up.  The "Intel INF Drivers for 3/4/5 Chipsets" went fine but in the 'read me' for "Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver" it says that if none of the supported RAID or SCSI controllers are present in the Device Manager/IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers then your computer is not in RAID, SCSI or AHCI modes and these drivers are not applicable.  Does that makes sense considering the type of hard drive?  Do hard drives have drivers? (apologies if this does not make sense)
Also, the "Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Drivers" only contains dll, system and a security catalog file.  I do not know what to do with these to install.

  • P35 Neo: Freezes on Boot Screen HELP!

    Hi, I need help.
I took some of my old parts and bought some new ones to make a cheap computer for my dad.
The mobo I used, used to be in my old pc, and ran great with an intel e8400 in it.
    I put together today:
    P35 Neo
    Intel e3400
    Corsair XMS2 2GB ( 2 X 1GB )
    Zotac 8400GS
    420 Watt psu
I put everything together, tried both mem sticks, 1 at a time each slot, same outcome.
It boots to the sceen asking to press del or tab, and then freezes. The cpu fan slows down a bit, when it freezes.
The BIOS chip thinggy says something like a7360 ms 160, but i dont think the bios matters because i used to run a e8400 on this exact motherboard
    PLEASE HELP THANKS A LOT!

Celeron E3400 is not in the supported CPU list for P35 Neo (G33 Neo) with 1.x BIOS. G33 is the correct CPU list for your P35 MB with 1.x BIOS.

I need the bios compatible with Celeron E3200 for P35 neo-f, my motherboard is running the latest version of bios

There are 2 P35 Neo MB's. One w/BIOS 2xx and the other w/BIOS 1xx. G33 Neo also has the same BIOS & CPU support as P35 Neo w/BIOS 1xx. From what I see the one w/BIOS 2xx supports it but the one w/BIOS 1xx does not. Best would be to contact MSI with your question and specify which BIOS your MB has. >> G33 Neo <<

  • P35 Neo FR - E8400 overclock. Can OC but need advice

    Hi Guys,
I need some advice as I have spent days reading on this to no avail.
I can OC my CPU to 3.8-4GHZ no problem.  But the VCore seems a little high
Will run stable @ 3.8 – 1.275 volts.  Drooping to 1.225 ish idle. I went up to 4GHZ but this requires 1.4 volts to show 1.375 in CPU-Z.  It seems high although I don’t have temp issues.
    Questions are:
    1.   I don’t get the VTT FSB voltage. Can this be left at auto or is it best to set.  I have read the thread on here that tells you how to work out correct VTT volts but also an article saying if its wrong the CPU will be fried or unstable.  I don’t want to experiment too much with this voltage.
    2.   I have FSB voltage set to 1.4.  I have no idea if this is right as its not calculated and only a guesstimate based on other overclocks.  Is there a method of testing this and will it damage anything like VTT-FSB?
    3.   It seems to run OK with no increase on south bridge i/o or s/b core.  Should I increase this or leave as is?
    4.   Is any of the above going to have negative effect on my X-Fi or grafix card.
I don’t want it sat all the time @ 4ghz so I am planning on leaving it at 3.8.
    422 FSB – 1055 ram @ 5-5-515 2.1v
    EIST – disabled
    Spread Spectrum disabled
    Specs are
    MSI P35 Neo FR2
    E8400 Wolfdale
    Corsair 650TX
    Seagate Sata drive
    XFX 260 black
    X-fi sound card

Just curious, did you disable cpu C1E as well?

  • MSI P35 Neo-F (MS-7360): Computer randomly freezes while playing games

    Hi there,
I have reached the end of my technical knowledge right now and I'm not even sure if this area of the forum is appropriate. The problem:
While playing higher-end games like Crysis 2, Anno 1404, Mass Effect 2 etc. my computer randomly freezes and the last few milliseconds of sound are being looped on my speakers (kind of like a buzzing sound).
By "freezing" I mean that my computer becomes unresponsive to any action other than pressing the Reset-Button or holding down the Power-Up-Button (no reaction to Ctrl+Alt+Del, Alt+F4, Alt+Tab, no mouse movement... you get it).
There's no exact timing as to when these freezes occur. The fastest freeze happened after less than a minute of playing a game, slowes one (just today after switching to my newer case with better cooling) took about 2 hours.
This freeze only occurs while my System is under load. No freezes while browsing the web, using office programs, listening to music or watching videos.
    System Specs:
        Mainboard: MSI P35 Neo-F (MSI-7360)
        CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz
        RAM: 4x 1GB DDR2-800 Corsair XMS2
Graphics: Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 1GB GDDR5 VRAM
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 620W (upgraded from Xilence XP600, 600W)
New CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 13 Pro (upgraded from OEM Intel Boxed Cooler)
New Case: Zalman Z9 Plus w/ 4x 120 mm Fans (Upgraded from a Case with only 1x 250mm side Fan)
        2 Western Digital HDD (1x 2TB, 1x320 GB)
1 DVD Reader/Burner (unimportant for that error I guess)
        OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit
        2 Screens: 1x 24" Asus VS248H and 1x 21" LG Flatron Wide W2240T
Since this error is bugging me for quite a while now and since this is not the first forum I'm trying to get help from, here's a list of steps i already took to get rid of it, obviously to no good use:
reinstalled games where the freeze occurred
updated all Drivers (including cleaning old versions in safe mode; also tried older drivers)
        updated BIOS to v1.A0
        Reinstalled Windows
bought new Case and CPU Cooler to improve Air Flow/Cooling
checked Seating of all components (took out, cleaned, reapplied thermal grease where neccessary, re-inserted)
cleaned old case of dust (obviously no problem in the new case, which is 2 days "old")
ran 7 sequences of Memtes86+ without any errors
ran Prime95 without any errors for about 45 Minutes
ran Furmark for 15 Minutes under full load (burn-in test) without any problems, even though my graphics card hit the 100°C frequency-cut level
ran Furmark and Prime95 simultaneously without any problems
took records of component temperatures and system voltages without noticing anything unusual (at least not after i switched to the newer PSU, which is about 1 Month old - yet didn't resolve the problem)
tested with cyclic removal of 1 RAM device to further rule out RAM malfunction
tested with only 2 RAM devices in dual channel mode (Slots 1 and 3)
tried to reduce RAM clock (800 MHz --> 667 MHz) to no avail
checked S.M.A.R.T. values of HDDs, no issues reported
        tested without any background programs
raised/lowered voltages to RAM, CPU and Chipset in BIOS to increase logic circuit stability/decrease heat production
I need to mention: After I transferred my system to the new case, i was able to play longer than average compared to my old case. So I am guessing that improper cooling was part of the problem, yet improving cooling obviously didn't resolve it.
Since these freezes are really annoying and nobody could help me resolve this so far, I'm hoping to find some new ways of narrowing down the problem or even getting rid of it here.
    Regards
    Sebb

Lets be realistic. A system with a 560TI is recommended to have a around 31Amps under full load, a CX500 would be sufficient.
Have you monitored your CPU and memory utilisation ?
As suggested before, test the GPU in another computer to see if the behaviour is the same.
Whew, I thought for a second there that my common sense had left me when I saw that 60-Amp-Post ^^
Yes, I monitored CPU and RAM usage, there is no recognizeable pattern to be seen and it almost never happens under full load.
I will see if a friend of mine can test my GPU on his computer, and I will test it underclocked right away.
Though one more question regarding that: Should I only underclock GPU Core Clock or both Core and RAM clock?

  • P35 Neo Combo, boot problem? [FIXED]

** PROBLEM SOLVED - Tech support told we that if there was any way to update the BIOS to version 1.3 then I should do that. I found a way and after that everything have been running smoothly.
I would like to thank everyone that helped me in here and hope that my experience and the solution might come in handy to someone else. **
**This thread have been updated with more information and an alteration of the story as my experience with the board/BIOS grew larger, and some information was given to me by at kind person in this thread**
    Hello everyone.
Some days ago I got some new hardware and put it all together but I ran into a big problem.
    Specs of the new machine:
Case: Arctic Cooling T2 Pro, Miditower, 500W
    Psu name: AX-500F, specs:
    +12v: 14 A (15 A peak)
    +12v2: 16 A (19 A peak)
    +5v: 25 A
    +2.3v: 30 A
    -12v: 0.5 A
    +5vSB: 2.0 A (3.0 A peak)
This information is a direct quote from Artic Cooling's homepage:
    Power Supply
The AX-500F is a power supply optimized for high end PC's and complies with Intel's ATX12V version 2.0. The continuous output power fulfils gaming system requirements based on multiple VGA boards.
The AX-500F was tested with the following configurations:
    AMD Athlon FX-62 CPU
    2 GB Ram
2x ATI X1950 XTX (Cross Fire)
    Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU
    2 GB Ram
    2x NVIDIA 7950 Gx2
I also did try booting with a more powerful PSU but still no luck, and from what I can see then this one should be powerful enough
Mobo: MSI P35-NEO-Combo-F, Intel P35, Ver. 1.0, BIOS ver. 1.2
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, BOX
    Ram: Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4, 2x1024MB 2.1v
    Graphics card: Inno3D GeForce 8800GTS, 320MB, PCI-E
    CD-rom: Lite-On DVD/CD
    HDD: Western Digital Raptor 74GB
    OS: Windows XP 32bit
When I turned it on for the first time nothing happend, no picture no error sounds although I could see and hear that the computer was on. I turned it off and then on again, nothing, I turned it off and then on again and something happend.
I got a red text message saying that my overclocking attempt was unsuccessful, which I found pretty odd cause this was the first time the computer was on. I have now been informed that it's a fail safe build into the BIOS to prevent a melt down if you overclock it too hard, which is kinda smart. I then had the option to go into the BIOS, so I looked at every setting to see if things were OK and if it was somehow overclocked or had some wrong settings.. Everything looked and still looks alright when I save and exit. When I do save and exit, be it with the settings I think is okay, the fail safe or optimized settings then the screen just goes black.
So now for the 'clearing the CMOS' part When I reset the CMOS with the jumper I can get further than the error message about overclocking. I get two options:
    1. To enter BIOS setup to configure the bios.
    2. To automatically load some default settings and continue booting.
First I tried option 1, after doing a save and exit the screen went black again, got the overclocking message and had to clear the CMOS one more time.
Then I choose option 2, windows started to load, I got into safe mode and windows started to find all the new hardware and so on. When that was done I was kinda forced to reboot, screen went back and yes you guessed it... I had to clear the CMOS and choose options 2. I got as far as getting into windows and installed some of the stuff from the CD-rom's that came with the motherboard, again I was doomed to reboot and clear the CMOS. Once again option 2 needed to be selected to get the system up and running, and I got as far as to the "Want to activate windows" option, and couldn't do that cause the network card was not installed so I had no internet connectivity. Apparently if windows detect too much hardware being replaced then the activation thing pops up, and I later learned that I can't activate my windows anymore cause I used my activation quota and I have to get a new key
What I learned from my brief time in windows normal mode:
Everything seemed to work nicely, and freaking fast too....swiiing!
2gb of ram was detected, running dual channel and at the desired voltage.
The CPU was running at normal speed and voltage.
All in all everything seemed normal until I rebooted.
The only thing I can conclude is that something goes horribly wrong when I clear the CMOS, load some default settings and then reboot. I have seen that I am able to get into the system with my current hardware, but only after a CMOS clear, so what the heck is wrong, what goes wrong after the reboot?
And this is as far as I can get with my own knowledge of computers :(
So now I hope to go that I can get some help from some of you guys, any thoughts on this or anyone know of such a problem and maybe know a solution?
If I missed some information you guys need to solve this puzzle then just ask.
On a side note, if I somehow get the chance to flash my BIOS to version 1.3 in hope that if will solve my problem, then will it erase my chances to send it in for RMA and get a new board? Do I break any rules by doing that?
    Best Regards

ok, when you turn it off and on and off and on, the BIOS will think it's an overclocking failure event, and hence display the overclock error message.
usually this is due to the memory settings was set incorrectly (by the BIOS itself). You may need to manually change the memory settings and see if that helps. And, please make sure that your BIOS can support FSB1333 processor like E6750 out of the box. If not, try flashing to the latest BIOS.
Hello and thanks for the quick anwser.
I did check if memory/cpu settings were okay and the seem to be on the right defaut setting. I save and exit and the screen just goes black. I forgot to add the motherboard and BIOS versions but they are there now: Mobo: MSI P35-NEO-Combo-F, Intel P35, Ver. 1.0, BIOS ver. 1.2
I don't see how I will be able to flash the bios when I can't get into windows and do it, and there is no way else for me to do it. If it was the case that the BIOS didn't support FSB1333, then I would never have gotten as far as getting into windows and getting the activation message would I?

  • P35 Neo + 533mhz DDRII OCZ RAM ?

Hi, I just put together a new system for a friend and I can't even POST, I was wondering if someone could help.
    System specs:
    - Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
    - MSI P35 Neo
    - (x2) 1 GB RAM DDRII 533mhz OCZ
    - Powercolor ATi Radeon HD3850 256mb PCI-E
    - Western Digital WD5000KS SATA HDD
    - Samsung SATA DVDRW
    - 500W Powecooler PSU
I was going to buy 667mhz ram but the retailer didn't have any more at the time, so I got the 533mhz instead, was this a mistake ? because after I returned with all the parts I noticed there was no mention of 533mhz ram anywhere on the manual or the site, just 667/800. Does anyone know if this memory will work with this motherboard ?
Also I got no peeps, no sounds, no nothing, I get the power lights on the case and the CPU fan spins up, but I don't get any video signal, and I've tried everything including taking the board out of the case with just the CPU plugged and clearing the CMOS jumper. I get no beeps, and I have a speaker connected to the four pins on the motherboard. I suppose the board is faulty, and I'll take it to the retailer on Monday, but I was just wondering, you don't think the 533mhz memory can be causing such weird behavior, right ?
Any ideas, thoughts or comments will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

You may be facing more than a memory problem at the moment.  According to the CPU Support list you need at least BIOS v1.3 for your E6550.  Maybe your board was delivered with an older BIOS revision:

  • P35 Neo-F and Intel Core2Quad Q9550 E0 Stepping

Hello ! I got some problems with my computer since i've changed the cpu.
before i had an intel core2duo e6750 on my msi p35 neo-f board and everything worked fine !
    a few months ago i wanted to "tune" my computer a bit , so i've bought a new cpu -> core2quad q9550 e0 stepping
my computer didnt want to work (boot) with this cpu , so i changed to my old cpu and updated my bios version , cause i thougt it should help, considering the informations on msi page !
i've updated to ami 1.9 without using msi live update, using your tool from this forum. ofc i did the cmos reset etc pp, loaded bios defaults.
then i've inserted my new cpu (q9550) and it seemed to work !!!
it seemed to work for a few days.../hours...
since then i was getting bluescreens! irregular bluescreens, no matter what i was doing on my computer. bluescreen messages were different nearly each time. sometimes there was something said about "sys32..."..i dont rly remember. next time i will write it down
i've checked my RAMs with some tools , checked my HDDs with tools, everything fine ! then i wanted to check my cpu with prime95 using a torture test (blend) and my computer crashed directly (short bluescreen) and rebooted ! so i am quite sure that my new cpu / bios configuration / version is the problem !
so my next idea was to reinstall my windows 7 prof. , considering some posts on the www.
well it didnt help. today , one day after reinstalling windows, i got a bluescreen when booting windows. just when booting , without doing anything, next boot worked and computer didnt crash since then, 2 hours ago. so as you can see these crashes/bluescreens are really irregular !
now i am on the msi page again , looking at the cpu support list for my mainboard.
    ->
    Core 2 Quad     Yorkfield     SLB8V     Q9550     333     2.83     12M      N/A     E0      95     7360v21.zip
so i should flash my bios to 2.1 ???? i've read something about different versions of my mainboard on this board , some are able to work with bios 2.1 , some others are not !
    this thread :
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=139992.msg1046500;topicseen
now i dont know what to do anymore....flash to 2.1 or not ? where can i check whether i can flash to 2.1 ???
is it possible that my power supply is too weak ?
    my system :
    windows 7 prof 64 bit
    500W BeQuiet Straight Power
    MSI Neo P35-F
    Intel Core2Quad Q9550
    8Gb DDR2 RAM
    Sapphire HD 5850 Toxic 1Gb DDR5
as i said my system worked fine before changing the cpu, so my issues should come from the new cpu imho
    thanks a lot !
if you need more information i will provide them ofc !

  • P35 Neo doenst start

I'vd just bought a new mainboard and CPU, which are:
    - mainboard MSI P35 Neo
    - Intel Core Quad Q6600
and started building up a new system with my old components:
    - ATI HD 3870 graphic
    - 2 GB RAM DDR2 533
    - 250GB Hardisk
Everything was in its place, but the system didnt work. When I turned the power on:
    - CPU fan and Graphic fan started
    - CPU fan stopped after 2 secs, and then run again
    - I connected the keyboard to test, and it did get the power
    - BUT still, nothing appear on the screen. No signal.
I tried to reset the BIOS. But nothing changed.
I was sure about the following:
    - CPU fan connector was correctly connected.
    - 24pin power supply and 4 pin power supply for mainboard connected
    - 6 pin power supply for graphic card connected.
    - Everything was firmly installed.
All the old components worked well on my old system. I even tested with new mainboard and old pen IV CPU, the result was the same.
I dont know what to do next to get over this problem. Please help me. Thank you alot

I just bought 4GB RAM 800 and the system works fine now.
[Note that you need a 64bit operating system to be able to use all 4GB of RAM.]

Don't worry, such things can happen to anybody. You missed a significant but yet rather minor detail. You did not try to squeeze a DDR(1) module into a DDR2 slot for example.

    memory voltage 2.1
Make sure that the memory timings are not set to 4-4-4-x but that they are set to the defaults values (5-5-5-x).  Also ensure, that the memory clock speed is not set to anything higher than 400 MHz (=DDR2-800).  The voltage at these settings should not need to exceed 1.95V.  So please lower it accordingly.  In case the freezes still occure, please run memtest86+ to check your memory for errors.

    msi dual core center
Please get rid of that tool for all further tests.  Uninstall it completely from your system as it is known to cause crashes and freezes on its own terms when running.

  • REMOVE: Multipler + Intel EIST problem on P35 NEO.

Allright you probaply are familiar with this problem.
When Im trying to change multipler on my motherboard settings it says that Speed Step haves to be disabled.
I have latest BIOS on my motherboard and in case of somebody suspecting OC albility of MSI p35 Neo; I had hit it to 400 FSB and it run without problems.
    My system is;
    Intel e6750 2.6 Ghz + Zalman cnps9700
    Kingston Valueram 667 Mhz
Well rest of thing you dont probaply need to know.

I don't think I really understood what your problem is...
Can you try to explain it a little more in detail and tell us with what you need help or advice?

What's the PSU in your other machine? What components are/were in the other machine?
I don't like the 17a ratings for your split rail. I believe a GTX needs nearly 33A and, yes, at max 408/12 is 34a(which is a tad fishy IMHO), but yours is split rail.
I know that the ratings are showing the powersupply to be a split rail.  But according to a review on the Jonnyguru website; it looks like both rails are pulling from the same spot on the PCB.  Below is part of the review that talks about this.

I plugged in the 8-pin EPS12V connector and proceeded to put a 30A load on it.  The PSU did not shut off, which confirmed that my visual observation that all of the +12V leads were in fact coming from the same source on the PCB.  The Antec EarthWatts does NOT have multiple +12V rails.  It only has one +12V rail with no limiters on any of the connectors.
So even though it is showing that it is a split rail with 17A on each 12V rail; it looks like it might not actually be a split rail PSU.
