Help needed please, with Iphone stuck with apple picture and progress bar after software update attempted

Help needed please, everytime I try to update the software version on my iphone it comes up with a message saying it could not be completed and is now frozen with the apple picture and progress bar on it. Do I unplug it and hope the macbook pro sees it again, I also stupidly did not back up before starting the download which I realise I will have to go back to the previous back up. This keeps happening, everytime I do this type of update, I'm starting to think I should just give up on updating my software on the Iphone. I thought it was happening because I was using a window based computer to do the updates, this time I used my Macbook Pro. Please somebody help

Then you should know what you need to do... If you don't remember...

  • Iphone stuck on apple logo and loading bar.

    Hey guys,
My itunes seemed to crash while i was restoring my phone and now its stuck with an apple logo and an empty loading bar, also my sleep/wake/lock button doesnt work so i cant enter recovery mode, please someone help or point me in the right direction!
    Anthony

I will help you to solve your problem, don't worry just follow as I say.
    1. Firstly it is not a big problem just do as I say.
    2. Connect your device to the PC and then launch the iTunes software.
    3. And then go for the option of 'Restore' in that iTunes.
But if your device doesn't respond to it.
    4. Then try to update the iTunes software to latest version.
And using windows OS means you need to uninstall the whole previous version of software and need to download and install the latest version of it.
    5. And if you are having the third party apps such as Antivirus and etc are installed then it will object your phone to respond to iTunes. So you need to update your iOS software at any cost, which is the only way to fix iPhone stuck on Apple logo.
    All the best

  • TS3694 hi i recently updated into ios 7.0.4 now i want to fully restore my ipad to resell but when i restore it it got stuck with apple logo and progress bar with 45% completed as firware file is downloaded using ipad 4 wifi itunes 11.3.8

hi i rescently updated my ipad 4 in ios 7.0.4 and for resell purpose i want to restore my ipad via itunes but it got stuck at apple logo and progress bar of 45% completed i tried it 50 times but it stuck on that exact point for hours i cant able to restore it and had no errors it just like freezes at one point i also uses dfu mode but got stuck at same problem using windows 7 32 bits itunes 11.3.8 ipad 4 wifi please help

My iPhone 5 wouldn't start after I turned it off a few minutes after writing this. It went into recovery mode and I had no choice but to connect to iTunes on PC and restore.
I restored to factory setting first, just to validate my phone was okay. For a second consecutive iOS update, the  iPhone 5 did not update smoothly while connected to PC and iTunes - I had to retry two times before the progress bar for the update showed. (The exact same problem with the restart occured when I updated to 7.0.4.)
The good news is that I was ultimately able to restore the iPhone 5 to factory settings while running iOS 7.0.6. I did have a backup from about a month ago lying around and was able to successfully restore with that as well, so the damage done is almost negligible since I had my contacts, notes, mail, etc. backed up to iCloud.
Once I completed both restores, the sync with iTunes worked fine.

  • HT4623 My iphone is frozen with the apple icon and progress bar at 5% cannot update

My iphone4 is frozen with the apple icon and progress bar at 5% cannot update

    Same issues here.
iPhone 5 was fine until I restarted the device... now the screen flickers on and off (with the white Apple logo
and frozen progress bar overlayed on the screen).
When I try to restore, I get a "-1" error.
Well I just looked over at the screen, and everything is now fine. No flickering, no logo... the screen looks normal.
    Hmmm...

The error that you are seeing has to do with your Internet connection. Try disabling your anti-virus software and connect the iPhone again and try to restore. See this support document for help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

    It's starting in safe mode > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
First of all, do a PRAM reset. If it doesn't help, open Terminal and type:
    sudo nvram boot-args=""

Your data are already gone. If you don't have any backups either on a computer or in iCloud you are out of luck. The only option is to restore it from Recovery mode.

  • Getting Grey Screen with Apple..and progress bar..  This is what I get

    Greetings all,
I desperately need help..My macbook pro was running slow, and so looking online I found something about resetting smc and pram. Well I did both and the computer booted up fine. Then on my next reboot the machine wouldn't start. I'm getting the grey screen with the apple. A progress bar shows for a second but then goes away. I'm not able to get into safemode. But I was able to run the disk utility program from the snow leopard cd. Basically tellls me that the keys are out of order and then says "Error: Disk Utility can`t repair this disk...disk, and restore your backed-up files." This has to be bad.. I don't have a backup.. but luckily most of my stuff was on my macmini (I just had a baby so I had alot of pictures)
Is my only option to erase? Right now the hard drive won't mount (atleast through the disk utility, since it can't repair it)
Please tell me I have other choices.

So you also have a Mac Mini? Then you might be able to retrieve files from the bad hard drive using FireWire Target Disk Mode:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
FWTDM will allow you to mount your Mac's hard drive on the Mini's desktop and it will be just like any external hard drive. You will be able to copy files from it.
Another option would be to remove the drive from your Mac and place it in an external enclosure, which would essentially turn it into an external drive. You would then install a brand new drive into your MBP.
It is possible that you could repair the drive with a stronger utility such as Disk Warrior. However, DW only repairs the complex software on your drive--it cannot repair a drive which is beginning to fail, which could well be the case with yours. You don't say exactly which MBP you have, but the average useful life of a laptop hard drive is 3-5 years, and many fail within the first year. Often the kind of problems you are seeing are due to a drive beginning to fail, so your first priority will be to get your data off of the drive.
Since you were also seeing slowness, I suspect that your hard drive is headed south. If so, there wouldn't be much point in reformatting. It would just destroy your data, and your drive may still not ever work properly again. You can get a new drive for less than the price of Disk Warrior, although it's possible that DW can fix the corruption on your drive, at least for a while.
Also, how full is your drive? If too full, that could be a contributing factor.
If you do decide to try Disk Warrior and succeed in getting up and running, you should run SMART Utility:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/smartutility.html
You can download the demo and run it several times for free. It will give you a comprehensive view of the physical health of your hard drive.
What I would recommend is that you try FWTDM first and try to get everything off of the drive that you care about. If the drive is failing, it could fail completely at some point, so getting your stuff off of it is your most important priority.
If FWTDM doesn't work, then the next thing to do is to remove the drive and put it in an enclosure and see if it will mount that way.
The newer unibody Macs are designed so that you can replace the hard drive yourself. If you have an original MBP, you may want to get an AASP to install a new drive and give you the old one back in an enclosure. If you are under warranty, this won't void your warranty. If you are under warranty, Apple will replace a failed hard drive, but you won't get to keep the old one.
If you are out of warranty, you could consider replacing the drive yourself using the directions at ifixit.
Once you have gotten out of this fix, it's time to set up a backup strategy.
Good luck! Post back if you have further questions.

  • Since trying to load latest update on Ipad it only boots to Apple Icon and progress bar seems stuck??

    HELP

I went to the Apple store, the salesman held the power button andthe main button down for five seconds or so, and it came back to life.  The ironic thing is that I already tried that before going....Anyway, the iPod went into recovery mode, where I had to basically plug it back into iTunes, confirm the new update was downloaded properly, and then I had to wipe it clean in recovery ( or whatever you call it).  I put all my music back on it and now it works fine......good luck

  • Updated iPhone 4s to ios8 but screen is stuck on white screen with apple logo and progress bar

I updated my phone last night and my iPhone screen is white and has a gray apple logo and a progress bar which has been the same for 12 hours. The bar looks almost completel but it hasn't moved at all. my phone was also unplugged accidentally during the night while it was on this screen. would that have any effect?

Turn it off, go into recovery mode (command R at boot), wipe everything, go back and install Yosemite. Its suggested that you are using ethernet as it goes a lot faster that Wifi and more reliable. If you do not have a ethernet cable, you can still use Wifi. Hope this fixes your problem.

  • HT3529 How can I remove my Apple ID from a phone that is not working? I cannot text anyone with Iphone because the Apple ID and IMSG

My IPhone broke yet again due to "known issues", so I am back to an android. But, I cannot text anyone who has an IPhone, had this issue previously and Apple nor my carrier helped out. I have removed my number on Apple.com, as told by my carrier which doesn't help. Also, the IPhone did a factory reset by itself and cannot get past the plug in with itunes screen, and the phone will not stay on when plug it into a computer.

You need to immediately change the password for the Apple ID, for starters. If have iCloud and Find My iphone enabled on the device you can remotely wipe the device. If you do not then there is nothing you can do except change the password for the account.

  • Please help me! MacBook Pro stuck on apple logo and spinning wheel

Hi I'm really desperate and need help! My MacBook just stopped loading and would stay on the gray screen with the apple logo and spinning wheel.
I have tried safe mode and it would load a little and stop and then the loading bar would be blank and it would stay like that forever!!
I also have tried doing the single user mode and when I type the fsck - fy it will do a couple more lines then it will say error like a hundred times :(
I did verbose mode and it would just give me stuff that I have no idea what it saying I left on verbose mode for like 5 hours and it would just give me lines of stuff I have no idea what it's saying!
I downloaded lion through apple store so I don't have the disk I only have my snow leopard disk
Please please someone tell me a solution it's my moms laptop and I don't want to get in trouble!

Reboot in recovery mode an possibly repair over the internet.
    Command-R to the rescue.
Just hold down Command-R during startup and OS X Recovery springs into action. It lets you choose from common utilities: You can run Disk Utility to check or repair your hard drive, erase your hard drive and reinstall a fresh copy of OS X, or restore your Mac from a Time Machine backup. You can even use Safari to get help from Apple Support online. And if OS X Recovery encounters problems, it will automatically connect to Apple over the Internet.

  • Help, iTunes error 2001, iPhone stuck on Apple logo!

HELP!!!!!!! THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE.
Okay, so recently I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet (it was an accident, slipped out of my butt pocket as I was pulling my jeans down) and then did the rice trick and whatnot. After two days, I tried to turn it on again and it wouldn't work. Then, i plugged it into the recharger and MIRACLE OF MIRACLES the apple logo flashed! Then nothing more happened, it kept flashing on and off, and wouldn't respond to any buttons. So then I connected it to my macbook, and iTunes popped up saying that it'd detected an iPhone in recovery mode. however, to restore it I would have to download the newest iPhone software but I didn't have the ability to do that just yet so I unconnected it.
Now today i was finally able to download the software, but everytime I connected my iphone to mac itunes never picked it up. Eventually, following the advice of everyone on the internet, I 'put it into DFU mode' or something, (im not sure what I did, once I got a black screen that was still detected by itunes, and every other time i've got the itunes logo and a charger symbol).
Then i got really excited, followed all the onscreen prompts, until it finally said waiting for iPhone and then ERROR 2001 APPEARS! Further more, the iPhone isn't even called what I called it, but called iPhone, 'iPhone'. I've tried restarting everything, trying different ports, but nothings working, every time I just get to error 2001!
So i would really appreciate it if someone could help me! I don't care about losing files or anything, i just want it functional again.

Hi there, I had a very similar problem to yours. I ended up getting my iPhone 3GS quite wet. On top of that, some of my casing is broken (near the power button), so a lot of water got inside.
At first, there were a lot of changes to the screen, and eventually the phone simply died. It just wouldn't turn on. And then all of a sudden, the same day, it randomly switched on, and i could hear some 'sizzling' sound inside. Following this, it just kept rebooting.
At this point, I unscrewed the screws at the bottom and opened up the phone (but didn't disconnect anything). Instead of using the rice trick/silica gel etc, I just placed a fan facing pointing at the inside, and let it sizzle away, and hoped that the heat from the sizzling battery and the air from the fan would dry it soon.
It did dry - soon the sizzling stopped, and the phone just kept rebooting. The battery eventually died by the next day. So I put it on charge, and it eventually switched on, in recovery mode (USB picture and iTunes symbol).
The next thing I noticed was that the battery held almost no charge. As soon as I disconnected it, the phone would die, immediately. Same thing if you connect it to the computer. On top of that, my Mac did not recognise the iPhone at all.
Next, I cleaned out the dock with the sharp end of a safety pin and loads of fluff came out. And after re-connecting it a few times, iTunes recognised it. So I tried to restore it, but a few various errors came up, and eventually, error 2001 kept coming up. Which apparently means there is something wrong with the USB or dock. (My USB is fine, the phone dock is messed up).
So next I tried to force the phone out of recovery mode. Pressing the buttons does nothing. No program works, except RecBoot for Mac. But even on that, as soon as the phone restarted, it died immediately and went back to recovery mode.
So I took it off the computer and let the battery die again, and then charged for another 24 hours.
Now at this stage, the phone seems to hold a bit of charge for a while. And iTunes is randomly recognising the phone. And it lets me restore it. And it even lets me restore the iTunes backup!! But after it has everything restored, the phone reboots one more time and iTunes says not to disconnect it... And now it's back in recovery mode.
I'm going to keep on trying. I think it's partially down to luck and I would recommend you do the same. I'll post an update here if it works.
