Help needed!?...Pre kills my wi-fi internet connection when connected to my desktop...

Can someone please help me and tell me why I loose my wireless internet connection (from timewarner) when I connect my pre to my desktop. I read about this somewhere a while back and thought nothin of it and ended up becoming a headache to search for so far for some reason....would appreciate it thanks!!

The point now is how to connect my printer to the router. I'm actually not good at doing these things unless it's something easy. What do you think?
I'm still not able to access internet with wireless connection, looks like there's a permanent problem in the connection between PC and router since i connected PC to the printer. I am limited to local connection, no internet. I get a message saying that the network can't be identify. Don't know wheter it can't read the WLAN password anymore or what else. Do you think i should do router installation and network set up again as it was the 1st installation?
I'm just wondering, any suggestion/instruction is more than welcome!

Help needed to somehow link ipad to internet via macbook pro's ethernet

Hi all
i have just picked up a new iPad 64gb wifi+3g.
I work on a ship where i have a slow but reasonable ethernet connection to the internet.
what i would like to do is use the MBP as a wifi hotspot or via usb cable to share the internet connection.
I have trolled the internet for help on this and managed ( i am pretty new to this ) to find out about sharing the internet settings either by aiport which i asusme is wifi and also usb iphone cable.
When i activate the airport the ipad sees the network and connects with all bars but if i try to connect to the internet in safari or bbc news app etc i get "not connected to the internet message"
can anyone help with idiots guide for settings i should be using on both MBP and iPad to do this correctly?
All help greatly appreciated.

I have my MBP connected to the internet via ethernet cable and this is working ok.
I then went into settings and shared the internet by ticking airport / wifi and usb iphone cable. Both together and individually.
i setup a network and gave it a "test" name with and without wep 5 digit password and with and without firewall.
the ipad sees the "test" network and asks to join and i have selected this both with and without password.
Ipad then shows full bars on strength but no internet connection.
I have yet to work out how to do the connection on the iphone usb cable so nothing to go on there.
I will try again and make a note of the IP addresses on both and post them to see what you think.
As far as i can follow i seem to be doing it all correctly unless making a simple mistake along the way.

No internet connectivity when connected to BTOpenz...

Having moved to BT and paid the extra £10 a month over O2, to allow my mobile device to access BTOpenzone and BTFON, I am finding it extremely difficult to get my money's worth.
The BTFon app has only twice managed to automatically connect to and gain internet access. Another couple of times, when mucking about with Safari (it's an iPod Touch) I've managed to stumble across the BTOpenzone landing page and manually log on.
But most of the time, while the BTOpenzone and BTFON networks can be joined in Settings (and shows a tick) then Safari says that I am not connected to the INternet, and BTFon will come up with either "this wifi hotspot is temporarily unavailable" or "not connected to the internet".
This is now even the case when I am at home and connected to my on HH3, the BTFON and BTOpenzone connections will just not allow internet access or come up with the Openzone landing page.
Now in the case of my own HH3, checking the IP address I note that it starts with 10 as in 10.227.71.139, when connected to BTFon or Openzone (it's 192 when directly connected to the SSID) and the router is 10.227.71.137. There are just the two DNS entries 192.168.22.22 and 192.168.22.23.
The sticky above says that the IP shouldn't start with 10, and that the HH3 needs reset.
Now, the HH3 is still just a few weeks old, and I am not inclined to reset it as I can access the normal SSID network anyway. But it occurs to me that if it requires a reset so soon, then most folks' HHs will also be in this position. It also means not only that no-one can use my own BTFON and explains why most others are unavailable to me when I am roaming.
If that is the case I am wondering why I bothered paying the extra to move to BT and has huge implications for the functionality of BTFON in general.
If the above is all correct then I think that BT should sort out the firmware and roll out to all HHs automatically that are opted in to (or not opted out of) BTFON. the firmware should identify what it is that makes the homehub issue IP adresses starting 10 instead of 192, and fix that without a reboot.
This will then allow devices to connect, without requiring users to try and find the one HH in the area that does not require rebooting.
Of course I will be delighted to be proven wrong and that there is some simple solution to the above!

Here's how to use it for the first time:
1. Download and open the app and then click on ‘I’m a BT broadband customer’
2. Type in your @btinternet.com email address and password then read and accept the T’s and C’s. This will automatically opt you in to BT Fon
3. When you’re in a BT Fon or BT Openzone hotspot for the first time, click on Settings on your iPhone home screen, then Wi-Fi and select BT Fon or BT Openzone (you won’t need to do this again but must do this to use the app for the first time)
4. Open the BT Fon Wi-Fi app and you will automatically be logged in
5. If you want to connect to your Home Hub rather than BT Fon, you simply click settings on your iPhone menu screen, select Wi-Fi, and then choose your Home Hub

Help Needed! T60 can't reach internet

Please help me to resolve this problem on my 3+ year T60 ThinkPad.
Suddently, my laptop couldn't reach any internet, either local area connection or wireless connection.
I followed the troubleshooting on Lenovo.com and processed all the steps. However, it didn't work for my case.
(1) When I input "ipconfig/release" and then input "ipconfig/renew", this message appeared: An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection 2: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out.
(2) When I tried to "ping 127.0.0.1", here, "transmit failed, error code 5".
BTW: The hardwares should be in good conditions, and I also re-installed the drivers and TCP/IP.

Try booting in "Safe" mode, and then try shutting down.

Safe mode will not load 3rd party drivers:

If shutting down in Safe mode works, then one of those 3rd party drivers is your root cause

Help Needed "Camera not asking to use photo location when switched on"

Hey guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I turn on my camera app it used to ask if I wanted to use the location. Now it does not, I am interested in seeing what I can do with the geotagging feature. I checked my settings, and use location is on. I turned it off, backed out, turned it back on again but nothing changed.
When I open up maps and click the little round "find me" button, it works great.
Any ideas on what I can do to get my camera app working again? Thanks in advance.

If Location Services is ON, the geotagging data should be stored with the pics. The iPhone Photos app cannot display that information - you'd need to use a 3rd party app or upload the photo to a photo sharing website that supports geotagging data.
If you want to see that 'use location' request from the Camera app, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Location Warnings.

Help needed!! Why do I keep losing the connection to my cRIO?

I've got a real time system with the following setup.
I have got a cRIO out in the field running a real time application that accquires data from various thermocouples and sends the data to the my host computer over a wireless radio link. I am using a wireless ethernet modem with a data transfer rate of 100 kb/sec. The modem is being shared by 12 other radios also transmitting data to the host PC.
So, basically, I've got the host PC on one end and 13 field computers (one of which is my cRIO running a real-time application) on the other end. The 13 field computers are sending data to the host PC over wireless radio links utilizing a single wireless ethernet modem. The data from the 13 radios is placed on a que and the modem cycles through the que enabling the data from each radio to pass through one at a time.
My real time application is sampling the thermocouple data every 1 sec and sending it across to the host application via a shared variable
The host PC is also running an application that acts as the user interface.
My problem is this:
My system runs OK for a couple of minutes and then suddenly I lose the conection to the cRIO. Once this happens, I have to manually reset the cRIO (i.e. cycle the power back on) to re-establish the connection. This is both tiresome and inconvenient as the system needs to be able to run continuously for several hrs.
What could be the possible causes for this loss in connection? Is it possible that a clash between signals causes the modem to drop the connection to the cRIO? If so, is there a way to monitor the connection between the host and cRIO and automatically reset the cRIO in the event of a lost connection?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I was overflowing my FIFO so it may be a memory issue. However, it dies hard when I place a probe on my FIFO read data. Since this seems to be repeatable, NI may be able to look into it.
Anyways, I'll try some of my own troubleshooting and your suggestions then if I'm still having problems I'll be sure to check back.

Help needed on correction applied to the rotatonY angle when using perspectiveProjection

Hello, can someone help me out please?
I have a stage with and height of : 600x400
On this stage i have 3 squares that have a centerpoint in the middle. The square are 90 (width) and 80 (height)
The first square is aligned to the left site and the second one in the middle and the third one on the right
The perspectiveProjection is setup using the middle of the stage as it projectionCenter.
When i rotate all squares to 90 degrees (rotationY) than only the middle one is now not visible anymore, at that point i want to
switch the image inside the square. But at 90 degrees the left and right squares are not invisible.. For the left square that point would
be at 90 - 22, and the right one 90 + 22. Is there a way to calculate the correction value (22) in this example?
What i don't want is to give every square it's own perspectiveProjecten , then it would work but you have a completely different
3D rotation.
The only thing that goes wrong in my example is that the image from the left and right square are not changed at the right time, because
90 degrees on the left square does not mean it it not visible at that point.

hi i uploaded a few video files of my wedding to my ipad by adding a file to library. As there are a few vidoes i uploaded i now want to delete them, how can i do this. I cant find anyway of taking them out of the library when the ipad syncs. I have unticked them in th elibrary but cannot find a delete button or option to get rid of them. I want to add disney fims into there now fromt he store.

Here is a document on Airplane mode. It shows you how to turn on your Wireless adapter.
If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Ethernet, so Airplane mode should off for the Wireless troubleshooting.

Palm Treo Pro Kills Wireless connection when connected via USB

Everytime I connect my Treo Pro to my desktop via USB it kills my desktop's wirless Internet connection. is there a setting that I need to correct?

does your wireless kit in the PC using a USB port or it's wireless card that is attached directly to the motherboard?
if it is also a USB card, yes it can happen. probably USB conflict however if it's directly attached then it's very unlikely to happen.

Slower internet connection when connection wireless network

Currently using a Linksys WRT54GL wireless broadband (firmware v4.30.5) router in conjunction with a Thomson Speedtouch 546i ADSL router (ISP provided).
My problem is that when I connect to the internet over the wireless network I experience a much slower internet connection in comparison with when I use a tp-cable.
Tested with various online "speed-tests" (I know they are not to be trusted, but they do give a basis for comparison):
Over wireless network : ca.6000kbits/sec.
Direct cable from pc to router (tested on both routers):12-13000kbits/sec.
Hope anyone has any idea what the problem may be, and any help is greatly appreciated.

Change the beacon to 50 ....and reduce the RTS and the fragmentation by 40 each.....these options are found under the advanced wireless settings...
Also make sure that u have the latest drivers installed for the Wireless NIC.

My Shuffle kills displaying anything on my monitor when connected

I have faced an insane problem on connecting my Shuffle to PC. When I put my iPod on its dock, the signal on my display disappears, and my display looks like it is turned off, black screen and nothing more (for use it actually remains working). I can do nothing when it happens because I can see no mouse cursor, no iTunes window, no desktop, nothing except the black screen. Sometimes it happens when I connect my iPod, cometimes not. I cannot uderstand what is the reason and will my monitor be affected with iPod connection every next time or not. I am an experienced PC-user and have seen many troubles, but this one shocks me. I cannot understand at all, what is the connection between iPod and my videocard whick sends videosignal to my display via DVI-D interface.
Could someone help?

No Internet even when connected to the WiFi or 4G (iPhone)

Hi everyone,
I have been having an Internet-related problem on my iPhone 5S for a while now.
It started out with seemingly random Internet disconnection even when there is a perfectly good cellular (4G) or WiFi signal shown on my device. For instance, no emails or messages (like Whatsapp or iMessage) are being pushed to my device, or when I try to search something on the mobile browser, it shows that there is no Internet.
One thing I noticed is that when I do a search on a mobile browser, it seems to load for a long time (more than 10 seconds), only to return a 'No Internet' message.
The only resolve to this matter is to restart my device. I would get connected to Internet with no problems whatsoever (until I encounter the problem again).
I tried doing a reset of network settings, and also a reset of the entire settings. I even went on to do a restore as new (without restoring from a backup). This did not eradicate the problem.
I have already had several appointments at the Apple Genius Bar because of this problem. They didn't seem to know the cause of the problem, nor to resolve it; I got the device exchanged in the end. However the new device I obtained started having this problem as well.
Maybe this is another bug that iOS 8 has? I never had this problem before updating to iOS 8.

Able to connect ipad 2 to iphone 4s personal hotspot via bluetooth or wifi, but no internet access when connected via wifi.

I am able to connect my ipad 2 to an iphone 4s personal hotspot via bluetooth or wifi. The problem is that I only have internet access with a bluetooth connection. Both are running ios 6.1.2 and I have tried to reset both to factory settings. Any suggestions would be reatly appreciated.

Now the first question is, when you are saying connecting to personal hotspot, have you always been using the iPhone to connect to the internet? Are you someplace where the only place to connect is available via tethering to the iPhone's celluar network? Or do you have other options?

You have posted from a Support Article about Error Code 3194...
If that Article did not resolve it... then you have a problem.
Perhaps a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required..
Be sure to make an appointment first...

That error message may be indicative of the Device being Hacked / jailbroken.... If this is the case then you are on your own.
