Help needed: Proxy 3.6 needs frequent restart after migrated fr NT4 to W2K

My question regarding iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 with SP3.
After migrating from NT4 SP6a server to Windows 2000 Server SP4, my browser will have intermittent browsing problem because proxy server not responding to request. I will have to shut down & start the proxy server. Then, browsing is back to normal. In one day, this problem can happen more than 2 times.
Error log shows some errors like "Warning: event_handler: Failed to wait on events The handle is invalid." "Failure: StartConnectToHost: connect failed (error: 10055)" Anyone can help? Thanks.

try reinstalling the server....
that usually helps. don't forget to save your settings, i.e., writing them down or save the .conf file.

BT Home Hub 3 Needs Frequent Restarting

For the last couple of weeks I have had to restart my BT Home Hub 3 every few hours in order for my various wireless devices to share data.
None of the devices ever loses its connection to the Internet. I can continue to use each device for web access, for example. But none of the devices can see one another.
I have to restart the hub before any of my computers can access my wireless printer, for example.
After restarting the hub, the devices can all see one another again immediately until the problem reoccurs for some reason.
Does anyone know what might be causing this problem and how I can fix it?

you can try downloading inssider3 (istumbler if MAC) and then run it. This will show the broadcasting networks round about you and their channels including your own. If you then enter your router and change your wireless channel to a free or less congested channel.
you can also try changing the hub wireless from b/g/n to just b/g and see if that helps
are all the wireless drivers up to date 0 check manufacturers website and not windows update

Help needed, powerbook down after FCP HD crashed

any help would be useful :
my PB : PB 12, 756 (or so) MB memory, OSX 10.3.9
I was running FCP HD on my powerbook to compute some effect (timecode on a 4 minutes movie). The disks for rendering and so on is an external LaCie drive (firewire).
FCP crashed during the computation of effects. Before it crashed the PB hardrive was making noise as if it were reading again and again the same location.
Then I was not able to access the finder, neither was I able to soft shutdown the computer. So I turn it off pressing the power button 5 sec. Then started again. The hard drive was making about the same noise (like it was swapping for ever).
Not able to run any application, it took 10 minutes for the finder to appear.
I then restarted with the installation DVD, repair permissions and checked disks. 7 Gb of free space, all seems fine. Started again : same problem. 10 minutes to start, and the disk keeps swapping for ever.
Does someone have any idea ?

Thanks for the info.
I put my pb outside, where it is pretty cold. I got it to work normally for a few minutes, and I am trying to save all my datas. it is working slow but it is working at least.
So it temperature goes down it is working better. Does this give any clue ?

HELP NEEDED -MACBOOK CRASH AFTER LEOPARD UPDATE

I have just downloaded iTunes 9.0 and then a Mac Update for Snow Leopard appeared so I downloaded that, restarted my MacBook but then I got a little message saying
An error occurred installing MacUpdate
My MacBook now doesn't start up!!!
I switch it on and all I get is the Apple logo on a grey screen with the little round wheel going around.
I have waited about 30 minutes and it won't kick in.
Any ideas before I send the 7 month old mac back!!!
This is definately a fault of Apple, Snow Leopard and it's updates.

Help need to understand After Effects Rendering

I have just built my first editing pc.
I want to do Editing in Premiere and AE.
I understand it is best to share the load over 3 drives, and so i have
C: SSD - OS/programs
H: 1 TB HDD - media
F: 500GB EXternal Hard drive - renders
in premiere pro i have made it so i read of the media of H: and render to F:
BUT in after effects i am having trouble understand all this disk cache and confirmed media cache business.
I want to have my renders/previews go onto F: as i dont want my SSD to full up!
what i want to know is where do i allocate the disk cache, confirmed media cache, and the data base stuff.
or does after effects delete renders itsself afterwards.
if anyone could help or give me a simple answer as to what these disk cache and media cache things are in AE that would be amazing
Also when i hit space bar to play in AE it goes green for a few seconds then it leaves the bar behind blue!

So tell me if im now right.
When working in AE, I should:
1.Import media that is on its own drive (in this case H:)
2. Have my disk cache set on the SSD (C:) and maybe put it at a limit of 5-10 gb if I dont want it to take up much room.
3. Not worry about ram previews taking up space as they only occupy my 8gb of ram temporarily, whilst im working in AE.
4. Export/Render to My other drive (F:) when done.
Has my understanding improved?... or am I still being a wally.

NEWBIE: Help needed - Eclipse freeze after starting WLS 9.2

Hi All,
I'm very new in development with wls 9.2 and eclipse.
I'm trying to create a simple application (an EAR with a Session Bean).
When I start the WLS inside Eclipse (debug or run mode), this one, after a few seconds or clicks, freeze with 99%CPU usage.

If I understand you correctly, Eclipse stops responding after a while.
This may not be actually related to starting WLS. It sounds a bit like
you might be having a memory problem. Could you specify your operating
system, the amount of physical memory and the contents of your
eclipse.ini file?

Help needed~x61s dead after warranty expired

I think the motherboard is burned. I saw the smoke came out from the left vent.
Can I update my warranty one more year to avoid the cost of repair or just throw
the machine to the rubbish? Its dead and can not light on.

The warranty can be extended within one month of expiration date, how come your laptop short circuited did you have get water on the laptop or something, in which case warranty don't cover it. And you are better off selling the laptop for parts or get a new motherboard off ebay or IBM parts, and change it yourself.

Help Needed : Video Glitch after exporting from Premiere Pro CC

Hi all ,
            I have been experiencing this issue for sometime now. I occasionally encounter a video glitch after exporting a video from Premiere Pro CS6 or CC. Sometimes it happens in my NLE timeline , which I have to remove the affected clip that has the glitch/flicker problem from my bin and re-import the clip from my original source, which solves the problem.
             However , the worst part is when the glitch/flicker happens when I have already exported the video when everything seems fine in the timeline of Premiere . My sequence settings do match with the clip . This issue happens intermittently as I always have to hope for the best when the video exports.
Here is an Example of what I mean, the glitch/flicker happens at 3:28 of the music video.
             Hopefully those who have the same issue can share how to troubleshoot this problem . Thank you.

what i did was install final cut pro. I dont have an answer for this but it finish my problem , how i came up with this idea well i have the new mac pro cilinder that looks like a trash can 64gb memory and all the toys to work fast but again the mov files cannot be seen in the desktop cause premiere and mac and windows and all this ******** they fight about , and i also have your problem big time o pn every export.
i have instal final cut onmy older slower imac and i can see everything and the export are perfect
so i just did that and its perfectly fine basicaly final cut does something that makes ur computer and adobe read all kinds of files frames format.   i try to explain this to this adobe premiere enginners but they just say uuuuhhhhh

Help...My MacBook won't restart after the snow leopard 10.6.6 update

Really need some help, I have just updated from OSX 10.6.5 to 10.6.6 and upon restarting I am now presented with a MacBook that won't stop beeping and is stuck on a grey screen.
Has this happened to anyone else and what's your suggestions to fix it. I can't find a solution. Any help appreciated.

Server Frequently Restarting after upgrade

We are trying to Upgrade win 2003 server to win 2008 both are enterprise editions, Every thing going correctly but at the end of the install server restarts again and again, i tried with win 2003 SP1, and then tried with win 2003 SP2 but again and again
it is restarting, Can anybody explain me steps to upgrade it.

Could you confirm your hardware support the 2008 platform, it seems it is you hard ware issue, could you update all your firmware then try the upgrade again?

GWDVA restarting after migration

Last weekend I migrated my 7.0.3 HP2 system from Netware 5.1 to OES 6.5 SP8 on Netware. I used the migration tool to move all the data over and did fresh installs of all of the GW agents. Everything seems to be OK except for 2 things.
The first seems cosmetic but tsafsgw does not display my WPGATE folder under the [DOM] on my backup server. It displays the WPCS, WPOFFICE, and WPTEMP folders instead. I can still back it up but I have to use OFM instead of TSA. (Backup Exec) GWTSA on 5.1 had been working fine.
The second issue is then caused by OFM. When the snapshot is made of the SYS pool for backup and the virtual pool is activated, GWDVA unloads and reloads. I am using NSS volumes vs. the traditional volumes I had on 5.1 so I am not sure if this is normal behavior or not but I am guessing it is not.
If I understand all of this correctly, if I can fix the TSA issue, I would not need to use OFM which would eliminate the second issue.
I do have the post SP8 NSS patch on but wanted to let the system run a little on the new box/OS before applying 7.0.3 HP3. I thought about using HP3 when re-installing but didn't want to mix up any potential issues.
I have been doing a lot of research on both of these issues all week and really haven't found anything helpful. Any help would be appreciated.

So far I have determined that it is not the snapshot process that is killing gwdva but the backup process itself. After turning on every related diagnostic log I could find, it appears to be crashing during the backup process itself. All related logs show no errors at all, just that the gwdva is shutting down and restarting. The backup logs show nothing abnormal. The only evidence is on the main console where I had the following messages:

Given the fact that it was happening during the backup itself, I decided to have the backup NOT backup the GWDVA.DIR folder and the backup ran fine and gwdva did not restart. I am going to try to narrow down exactly which subfolder/file(s) seem to cause this and will post the results.

Help - new iMac 5k not displaying retina resolution after migration from older iMac?

I have just recently purchased and started up a new iMac 27" 5K iMac. Upon startup I took a look at the display settings to play with the different options for optimizing screen real estate. I noticed that the default setting for the new iMac is labeled as "default retina" and when you mouse over this setting a line appears that says "looks like 5120 x 2880".
An hour later I migrated my files and settings over from my previous iMac (27" late 2012) but noticed that when I go into display preferences it no longer has exactly the same options. Now the default setting is simply listed as "default" (not "default retina" as before the migration) and the line that appears states "looks like 2560 x 1440", which was the resolution of the older iMac.
I am unable to figure out how to revert back to the retina display options.
Has this happened to anyone else? Your help is much appreciated.

It is not done on the frequent basis until you fae some problems like file adapter not appearing in the adapter configuration.....none of the adaters are present in ID (EX)
it will only start the servicess or other things which were hanging or not responding state.....

ot moght e helpfull some times but not always...it depends on the probelm you are facing...lot of problems can be solved without restarting the server

Not recomded to do it frequenlty without any valid reason (until you apply some patches etc)
