Help Needed: Returning Back to Windows 8 after downgrading to Windows 7

Hi guys, im just new here.
I have a MSI GE40 gaming laptop which I bought 2 months back.
Within those 2 months of usage, I always encounter my laptop to be very slow in shutting down. It always take, maybe up to 10 minutes to fully shut down. The screen goes black but the power button stays on orange color, & as I said, it takes a long time for the power button to be completely unlit. But for start up, its blazing fast.
Thinking that windows 8 itself is the culprit of super slow shutting down, I searched the net on how to downgrade to windows 7.
Of course I did make a back up first on a 16gb usb flash drive using the pre-installed recovery software from MSI which was completed successfully.
Then I made some tweaks on the bios (ie select legacy & disable secure boot) & boot using windows 7 installation DVD, deleted all partitions (since the notebook comes with GPT partition) to be able to install windows 7. I installed all the drivers which I downloaded from MSI website specific to my notebook.
But the problem is not solved, it is still very slow in shutting down, & now even boot up becomes very slow too.
So I downloaded & execute the firmware & bios for windows 7 from msi website (again, specific to my model). But still the same, the notebook is still very slow both in shutting down & start up.
So I decided to go back again to windows 8, I tried to boot from the flash drive (I adjusted from the bios & make the flash drive to be the first priority) but it did not boot from it. I tried F11 on start up & selected to boot from usb flash drive but again, to no avail.
So the last one I did was downloaded windows 8, make a bootable flash drive out of it, boot from it and luckily, I succeed - I have now again a windows 8 msi ge40 laptop.
But I wanted my laptop to be reinstated to factory setting, i.e, all preinstalled softwares are there, the bios is default for windows 8. So I tried to update the bios to the one for windows 8 again (since I downgraded the bios to the one for windows 7 when I downgraded the OS to windows 7). But I could not update the bios, the laptop is not booting from usb flash drive containing the bios.
I tried also to recover using F3 on start up but the system does not recognize the flash drive (with system back up). I tried also on PC settings but to no avail.
Now guys, I need your help.
How can I return back my laptop to default factory settings?

I think it's not only about the OS version, you need to return this back to your shop to repair with the slow shot down issue, because the OS should be shot down in 30 seconds, far from your GE40 times.

HELP NEEDED!!! Windows DVD Maker -- Video's will not work/burn, at all.

I've registered just for this problem as I've tried just about everything imaginable.
What's happening is that when trying to make a DVD from a video file (photo slideshow plus music works fine) that Windows DVD Maker will get to around 74% encoding and then just stop and give me the error message (at this point the progress meter skips to 99%):
"Cannot create the DVD
An error occured when burning the DVD"
I've tried this using an avi file, (I know it works as I have used DVDFLick and its works great,, the menus are no where near as nice as windows dvd maker), and the sample video file included windows (I beleive its a wmv file).
I have looked at the event viewer, heres my error (which seems pretty common doing a google search):

OK so here's what i tried:
1. Small video files, the sample one in the public folder, other 700mb avi files.
2. Unchecked all the codecs in the options menu, then checked one at a time, then checked both, *one is AC3Filter, the other is Avi Decompressor from memery, located in the system32 folder, so not sure why it registered there if it's a windows included codec???).

Have followed this guys instructions on re-registering the required dll files (which I have checked and they are there in the System32 folder). Though when doing this using the "Run" in the start menu for the command "regsvr32 msmpeg2adec.dll" I get the error:
"The module "msmpeg2adec.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005."
Then I use the command prompt (opening as "Run as Administrator", even though I am an administrator user????) run all the same things, and everything succeeds fine, no errors (but like I said, if don't run as admin, get the same DllRegistryServer error, even though I am an administrator)
Restart the comp. and what do ya know, still doesn't work, same problem, same error.
3. Pictures and music, which burn fine and work fine on a dvd player.
4. Have checked the temporary file where the encoded files are dumped. ie:
C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Temp\AuthorScript*****.tmp
Have opened the video file in WMC (Media Centre), works fine, no audio but that's still seperated at this point, so no worries there). I noticed though that the AC3 file or audio is at 0kb, and the second it is created when DVD maker is doing it's thing, I get an error, hmm not sure what's goin on there???
5. Have used Vista Media Center Decoder utility. Results were:
Video: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
Audio: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
There are no other options (haven't needed to install other codec, don't use Nero either).
I have Windows 7 Pro (64bit), so I have all the necessary codecs built in. (As mentioned, I do have Ac3filter, but that's disable/unchecked in DVD maker, maybe that's the problem???). I would rather not download and install additional codecs.
Oh and it gets to 74% encoding then skips to 99% and the error pops up. From experience making a "picture and music" DVD, 74% is about when it starts burning, or when it merges the video and audio to make the vob file/s. It actually skips quickly to 80% and starts burning (slideshow DVD).
Computer is custom built, it not a HP or anything like that, so I don't have those .ax file extensions in system32 (for those who have seen an answer here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistaapps/thread/5cb0a40d-223c-4aed-87c4-3c63f400ee81)
So any idea's/suggestions? I know this will help a lot of people as it seems a common problem. I'm pretty tech savvy, so will try to follow any suggestions carefully.

I am attempting to burn a DVD from a Divx avi file with an mp3 audio track. I tried twice burning a DVD using Windows DVD Maker and had same result both times. Great picture, correct aspect etc but no audio. I played the DVD on a DVD player and on my laptop
- same result. I should add that I used the preview facility on the software and there was audio. But when I burned the DVD - no audio.
I searched through a few forums, including this one, and tried the recommended procedure of going via Windows Movie Maker. I opened the avi in Movie Maker and chose the DVD option, a message appeared saying that the video would open in Windows DVD Maker which
it did. I clicked on burn and yes, I got picture plus sound. However now the picture was stretched and distorted along the top half of the screen with a green band filling the lower half. I tried once more being careful not to make any silly errors and same
thing.
Divx avi with an mp3 audio track is a very commonly used format so it is surprising that Microsoft haven't configured the software to accommodate this and a number of other common formats such Xvid avi, mp4, m4v etc. with mp3 audio OR ac2 audio.
Surmising that Windows DVD Maker would at least be able to deal with a Windows movie file (a wmv file) I converted the avi to a wmv using AVS Video Converter (a piece of software which I use regularly). NB When converting it's wise to use advance menu to change
frame size to 'original' in order to preserve quality and aspect ratio. There are many other video converters on the market but AVS is a good one.
My supposition was correct DVD Maker produced a perfect DVD from the wmv file. It's unfortunate that Microsoft haven't found a solution to this problem because otherwise DVD Maker does a fine job.
CONCLUSION
Convert your file to an hmv file and then use DVD Maker

Urgent help needed with CP5 on Windows 7 64 bit and 'old' CP 5 projects.....

I have a serious problem, at least the sympthoms are very serious.
I have worked on a lot of projects with CP 5 on Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
CP5 was installed on the default root C:\Programs....
These projects partially contained recordings (demos, assessments...) of applications running on a Windows XP 64 computer.
Projects stored on E:\.....
All was OK
THEN:
I upgraded my OS to Windows 7 64 bit a couple of days ago.
D: and E: partitions were untouched by the new OS install.
Intalled CP5 on D:\..... not on default path C:\Programs...as I want to keep C: as clean as possible out of performance reasons.
All is OK except that:
- MINOR ISSUE: the projects on in the browser do not show assosiation to CP5 graphically as they used to in front of project name, this is the same for all other MasterSuite CS5 (also installed on D:...) applications too:
- MAJOR ISSUE: the demonstrations run properly but the results of action are graphically misplaced after generating the project:
Recording new demo projects on my system and generating them is OK
Can you please help to clarify and find solution so that my projects run properly.

Hi there
My gut tells me it's not so much an issue with Captivate as it may be an issue with the new Windows 7 setup. You might try right-clicking the Windows 7 desktop and choosing Personalize. Then in the lower left corner of the dialog, choose Display. See if you are configured for 100% or if it's something different. If it's something different, try choosing 100% and see if it helps.

HELP Need to create large Windows CD ROM w/ Videos

THE PROJECT:
Create a CD-ROM for a 180 product line that features a
product page for each item with a link to a 20 second video clip
(currently in .MOV) format.
THE PROGRESS:
I've gotten past the "audio' issue I was having before by
extracting the audio for each file in MP3 format... this works no
problem. Everything is running great until I came to my latest
hiccup.
THE PROBLEM:
I need this to be in a WIndows Projector (EXE) Format. I can
output the windows Projector file from flash no problem... but when
someone tries to run it on a PC it brings up a dos window for a
split second and crashes.
THE SOLUTION:
I can think of a few possible solutions and I need help
achiieving one ASAP as I'm screwed on this deadline....
1) Get the Projector (EXE) file to work.
Could there be a glitch in my file that's causing this error.
I somehow doubt it as it's a very simple bit of Actionscripting (I
am very rusty and was never very good with coding to begin with).
Basically tried two methods... putting the video in the OVER state
of the button.. or just having the button point to the next frame
where the video resided. Ideally I'd love to just get this to work
in projector format but we're looking at a large projector file and
I don't know if that will work.
2) Coding it to "Call" individual movies inside a core file.
I have NO idea how to do this but I know you can script in
flash to where it will grab a file (MOV, SWF, whatever) from an
external folder and play it within a movie. I'm thinking a nice
workaround (if file size is what is killing the Windows Projector
option) is to have all 180 movies in an external folder on the CD
and have the main EXE File call them into the main movie as needed.
Would this work? How do I do it?
3) The Backup Plan
If niether of hte above work... how can I possibly patchwork
this until I figure out the above. Is there a way to have a CD
auto-open a fixed size browser window with no buttons or anything
that calls a HTML or SWF file from the CD when inserted? This would
work. Is there a way to store the STandalone Flash Player on the CD
and use it to open the main SWF file (Which works fine)? Is there a
downloader for the Flash Standalone (not in browser) player out
there that I could put on the Disc that people could install from
then view the SWF?
I need help here people... somebody please save me....

Help needed for high res windows compatible

Hi guys,
Could really do with some help. I'm failry new to video editing and I have been asked to supply a high res movie that is compatible in windows. Are there any settings in Compressor that allow you to do this? My movie is currently in FCP 6, its 1440 x 1080.
If there is a setting that allows a high res format in both mac and windows, that would be even better!
Any help would be appreciated!

H.264 with the data between 1500 and 2000 should give you great results.
Unless the PC people don't have QT this should never be an issue.
If people don't need full res you may want to go down to 1280x720.
If your show was really long file size could become an issue but a 10 minute show with AAC 128 audio should come in under 100MB at 1280x720.

Help needed, new pc stopped booting properly after 2 days msi p67a-g45

Hi I need help quick, I recently built a new pc and all was going well sofar but now it wont boot up properly, it keeps resetting before the boot post tests and the times it does go through to the tests the internal speaker does 2 beeps, waits a second, 2 more beeps, waits a second, 3 quick beeps and then finally after another second 1 final loud beep. Also when I'm running my memory test (doing atm, I think it crashed though) the lights on my keyboard are continusly flickering.
Any help would be greatful

Intel i5 2500k (not overclocked)
8GB ram
650w corsair power supply (had this for a few years and worked fine sofar)
msi gtx 570 oc
msi p67a-g45 motherboard
crucial m4 64gb ssd
2*1tb samsung hardrives

Ok I just tried messing around with the computer it seems that the 2 sets of 3 quick beeps are for the number of usb devices Ive got attached to the computer, their is still 2 normal beeps before the 1 loud beep so I'm not sure what they mean as I tried replacing all the parts and it seems to do the same beeps.

yep just tried that, they both seem to pass seperatly and together as they make no changes to the number of beeps, the ram should of also been 100% tested by mushkin in the factory so I dont think they may be the problem

Ive had the psu for around 2 years and it coped with me setting the computer to run on a full load test with 3dmarks and prime95 for a few hours along with me having a normal gaming session on it. I cant test the computer with any other psu's atm as I got none spair to use.

Help needed: PS CC2014 Update failed, then after uninstalling reinstall failed. Initial error code U44M1I210 (when update failed), now error -55 (reinstall fail)

I tried to update Photoshop CC 2014, but it failed at 75%, with error code U44M1I210. After restarting my system, it still failed so I uninstalled the app, per this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1i210-installing-updates-ccm.html
Now the reinstall won't complete, and I'm getting error -55. The one other article that seemed relevant looks like the person had to uninstall and reinstall all his Adobe software after creating a new admin account on his computer (When I try to update I get an U44M1I210 error message, "Unable to extract the downloaded files" - help please, applies to latest Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CC), and I'm hoping there is a better solution than the hours that will involve.
Running on OSX 10.7.5.

Help Needed ASAP! Xcelsius demands Activation after 11 month of using it..

have been using Xcelsius4.5 for almost a year, for some reason, it asks me to Activate since 2 weeks. After using 5 times without Activation, XCelsius stopped allowing me to use it again. I reinstalled it, it still doesn't work.
My company paid for the licence, and it is not expired yet!! There is no reason that XCelsius asks me to reactivate..

If you deleted the partition you'll need to use BootCamp to recreate the partition.

Urgent help needed in Query Find Window

In my custom form i have a Query Find Window with three fields. The requirement is when user selects a value ( LOV) from any of the fields the other fields in the Query Find Window should get the relative value. I can acheive this only if i set the AUTOMATIC DISPLAY to yes for the fields. User identified this & they asked me to do this without setting the AUTOMATIC DISPLAY to yes.
I referred someother CUSTOM forms & i did tried but i am unable to achieve this one. Please guide me.

In the key-list val trigger itself, you can populate the required information into those fields.
If i am wrong then the requirement is not so clear.

But what the problem is some drivers I installed but I cant find some drivers like VGA Drivers, Vedio Drivers,PCI Device like...... could you please let me know where can i download these drivers........... ( some of the xp drivers are compatible with server 2003 and some ot them are not...)

Back up windows 8

How can I create a back up disk for Windows 8. I had to reinstall windows 8 and did all the updates. Now I need to back up windows 8 and put it on a disk if this happens again. I can't find where to back up the system anywhere in the control
panel. Can anyone help.

Windows System Backup is still included in Windows 8.
To launch the Windows Backup tool, open the Control Panel ->
Windows 7 File Recovery applet and click the "Set up Backup" button.
All of the old familiar options are there! Using Windows Backup, you can backup a
full system image or selected files & folders to an external drive or network location. You can also create a
system repair disc for repairing and restoring the system in the event that you encounter any boot issues.
