Help needed testing a free "killer application"
Applications which turn your phone into a remote control already exist; but they COST, and they only work on phones with IRDA port.
Maybe no more: it's really probable that ANY cellphone with audio play capability can be used as a remote, just spending 1$ to buy a couple of IR leds!

The method described there works fine for me using a PC: I connect one led to audio-in to sample the remote, I edit the waveform, then I play it through a couple of IR leds properly connected to audio-out, and I can control my devices!
There's apparently no reason for which same method can't work with a cellphone's audio-out port:

if you think being able to control your device using your phone is "just a funny thing"... then try thinking that:
- any s60 phone can be easily programmed in python
- any s60 phone can receive SMS
- 160 GB (or more) Personal Video Recorders are available in the market
- an old s60 model costs around 50$
Sum these all together, and you'll get a ***remotely controllable (by SMS) PVR!!!*** ;-)

I'm working with a group of student interns, like myself, and we've been given an assignment to work with Oracle. All of us have no training or experience with this, so we're just learning as we go.
I've been trying to run the EJB QL Sample Application (http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/ejb_corba/ejbql/Install.html), but I keep running into problems at step 3.

If you are trying to print the file directly from OTN site, you need to set the Page-Setup Orientation to 'Landscape'.

Urgent.... Help Needed for Storing file in Application Server
Hi All,
I have a requirement where in I have to save a file in Application Server.
File is of 141 Character Length, so there can be spaces left at the end.
When I am downloading the file into Application Sever and then downloading the same file from Application Server to Presentation into a notepad then the spaces at the end are truncating.
I want that the file that is generated should be of 141 character though if there may be spaces at the end.
It will be great if you can help me out in this.

Jayant Sahu.when downloading to App server, you need to specify the LENGTH option on your TRANSFER ststement to keep fixed length. You must also use a STRING type variable in your transfer.
From Documentation on Transfer command:
<b>If the file was opened as a text file or a legacy text file, the trailing blank characters are deleted for all data objects, except for those of data type string. The line end marker defined when the file was opened is then added to the remaining content of the data object or to the result of the conversion, and the final result is written byte-by-byte to the file.</b>
There also used to be a problem with WS_DOWNLOAD - you had to do the following:
Maintaining Trailing spaces when downloading to PC
Before calling DOWNLOAD or WS_DOWNLOAD, do a perform SET_TRAIL_BLANKS(saplgrap) using 'X'
To set the length of each record including your blanks add this code: perform SET_FIXLEN(saplgrap) using '0' '100'

When i create my new flex project in flash builder 4 i am getting this error
You do not have write permission for the project output folder. Specify another location.
can any one help me in how to get rid of this problem.I hope this forum helps me in finishing my flex project..

Need to use a scrollable resultset and depending on the need to have a stateful connection or a stateless connection you may need to query the table for every request(for stateless connection) and use the same result set for(stateful connection). and depending on the no of records in a page and the page no do some simple arithmetic and move the resultset. Urgent help needed in creation of planning application

Iam new to planning. I installed planning and configured(Created planning instance, Datasource). When i login into workspace and want to create new planning application. The wizard opens correctly. After giving application name, calender,currency type, Plan type, etc... when i click finish to create a new planning application, it says *"An error occured while processing this page. Check the log for detail".* But i observed one thing the application was created in Essbase without Databases and outline. So can anyone explain me wats the exact prob. where I can see the Log details. Help me.

Databases will not be created until you created until you refresh to essbase from within planning, you are not up to that stage yet. Only an essbase application will be created.
What I suggest you do, is delete the essbase application. Then run planning from the start menu and not as a service, this will mean you will get any error messages displayed in the window.
Then try and perform the application creation again and see what errors are produced.

Help needed in running the RMI application with multiple clients

I have my RMI application with one server and 6 clients. I keep all the server and client programs in the same directory. When i run the clients, the first 2 clients work properly but when the third or the fourth client starts, it works normally in getting the data and after a while it crashes. If teh third crashes the 4th works and if the 4th crashes the 3rd, 4th and 5th works ...randomly atleast one or 2 clients crash always.

Help needed in Enhancement of MAU application
Hi All,
I am trying to make some enhancements in the MAU application. Like we have an ActivityManagement jsp page which consists of 4 tabs. Every tab is a jsp page which has its own table of contents.
Now I want to add a new tab which is a jsp page & wanted to add few fields like the other jsp's.
i am able to get the tab but i am not able to display the fields in that.
on the onLoad() event in the view controller I have added the code :

I have a question, is ZCustomManagement.java name of your controller class for the jsp you are trying to fetch the list?
Looking through the code, this type of exception comes when you are trying to assign a object of a type to another type which is not compatible with each other , in short cannot be type casted.
Now in your code,
1) check whether i11PaymentManager.getI11Payments() method is fetching the BOList
2) try to debug the method fillObjectList(paymentList), I suspect this is where the code is failing.

Help needed to run a JMS application on WSAD
Hello everybody,
I�m trying to execute a JMS application which calls a QueueConnectionFactory and a Queue by JNDI lookup.
I had configured these queues & Connection Factory at the server configuration for the JMS Server & these are being displayed while the server is starting up that these names had been binded.until here it�s ok.
But the problem comes when I try to us my JMS program with configurations as websphere 5.1 application client.\
The error is being displayed as :
com.ibm.websphere.naming.CannotInstantiateObjectException: Exception occurred while the JNDI NamingManager was processing a javax.naming.Reference object.
[Root exception is java.lang.Exception: De-reference of JMS provider's Reference failed - check provider is on classpath]
WSCL0100E: Exception received: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
If any body can check this out please help.

I am facing the same issue. Also regarding the resolution posted in this thread, to add the MQ jars in the classpath, do I still have to do if I am using the embedded JMS and not MQ.

hello all . we have a requirement where in the bsp application :- SRMSUS needs some modification.
We need to add select all / deselect all and multirow checkbox select(table view ..).After selecting single records or multiple, user presses delete button which needs to be added as there is no standard button functionality present.
Now the problem is data is displayed in a tableview. I have enabled the selection option.Also individual rows can be deleted there is a delete icon for indiviual rows. but how can i check the rows which r selected n which r not, for deletion.
SRMSUS is MVC based.
