Help needed to access a file from and email link.

I received an email with a link to an Adobe document. When I attempt to open the link I receive a message " You do not have accewss to the file" How do I gain access?

Then it is the case I mentioned, the author sent the URL from the address bar viewing the form in Edit mode rather than copying the Fillable Form link.
You'll need to respond to the form author and ask them to send out the correct link/URL to the fillable form (which does not ask for any login). They can go to the "Distribute" tab and on the "Web Form" sub-tab click "Copy Link", if the form is "Closed" it will ask if they want to "Open" the form, the form needs to be in the "Open" state to collect responses so say "Yes". This will copy the link to their clipboard and they can then send that link/URL out.
Also, if they close the form (by clicking the X in the upper right corner) and are looking at the "My Forms" tab in FormsCentral, with the form selected there is a "Link" button in the toolbar along the top which copies the form URL to send out.

There is another option if the Macbook will start up in Target Disk Mode.
Restart the computer while holding down the T key. If you see the firewire symbol moving around on the screen you can connect this one to another one in TDM. You will need a suitable cable to connect the two Macs.

Help needed in accessing the url from which a swf file has been loaded

Hi All,
Can anyone help me out in finding the url of the swf file
from which it has been loaded? The purpose of the url is, I am
loading some flv files using relative path. I just want to achieve
the same by appending the relative path to the parent swf url from
where the parent was loaded.
I am a newbie to AS3, So please don t mind if this is a silly
question.

What do i need to access my files from any internet connection

I'm a bit confused, i've found some good videos on youtube on setting up the server but can't get the file shareing to work (of course the only reason i got the server). Some have told me i need a dyns routing service, so i used machighway.com but i still could not connect to my server from any internet conection outside of my home wifi. Now i've been told that i need VPN to be able to do that. So i'm hoping that someone can help clear this up and point me in the right direction. I can connect to the server using my Mac book air over my wifi (using an airport extreme). please help, i've had this server for half a year and have yet to be able to use it for what i intended.
(i upgraded the server to OS X Mountan Lion, and upgraded the app to OS X Server)

Here's how I did it.
-Open a free account at no-ip.org
-Download their app, change your server's hostname to the hostname you selected for your brand new no-ip.org account. Ideally you'd perform this step on a clean install of the Server since changing the hostname can mess a lot of the services up.
-You'll be able to tell it's working by enabling the Websites service and visiting your new no-ip.org hostname in a web browser. You should see the default server page.

Hi ... I have had Time Machine regularly backing up my hard drive. I just had a complete crap storm and had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall OSX. My question is ...
How do I reinstall all of my iTunes media from the time machine backup (a sparsebundle file). I don't want to reinstall all of the other settings and files, just the iTunes files.

Never mind ... figured it out myself. Mounted the sparsebundle file by double-clicking it then navigated the "Latest" backup folder to the iTunes folder and dragged it to my desktop. Worked like a charm

Use Migration Assistant on your new Mac:
Click Continue:
On the next screen, choose your Time Machine backup disk.
Don't bother to migrate Applications unless you know they will work on your new Mac. For example, PowerPC applications won't work. Just migrate your user account which will copy all your photos, music, movies, and other documents.
Note: you will not be able to migrate the information to same account in which you are already logged in. Migration Assistant will tell you that and recommend what to do. It can migrate the information to a new account, but you will have to give it a name you might want to change later. One way around this is to create a temporary account, log in to it, and run Migration Assistant which will replace your normal account. Then, log out of the temporary account, log in to your usual one, verify everyting works as you expect, and delete the temporary one.
All this can be avoided when you set up a brand new Mac by running Setup Assistant which essentially does the same thing to create your new account, but most people are too excited to do that and elect to migrate later.

No, OSX will be read only (from Windows) and vice versa. (you can install 3rd party utilities on either or both partitions, to make read/write possible)

I cannot access PDF files from my current BT Yahoo...

Since downloading an updated version of Yahoo Mail a few months ago, I cannot now access PDF files from old e-mail messages which are located in the "Folders" section on the mail screen. When trying to open them the message "Scanning Attachments" is displayed. After about 60 seconds a Message is displayed "An Error Occurred whilst Downloading". This never used to happen with the previous version of Yahoo Mail. I have tried to save the attachments to my laptop and the message reads "Scanning Attachments" which would signify that they had been saved due to no subsequent Error Message being displayed. I have trawled all through my laptop and cannot find any of the alleged saved PDF files.
I am an old chap and not very computer literate and am hoping you professionals can come up with an answer and fix to this problem, which I believe, was not of my own making.
Whether this has any bearing on the matter, I changed about four months ago from BT Total BB to Infinity Opt1 which includes McAfee security built in as standard. I have also, as an on-screen reminder, recently updated my Adobe Reader programme to version 11. I cannot think of any other changes, apart from the new version of Yahoo Mail, that has made this problem come to light as it has.
Your help and assistance in this matter would be most welcome and appreciated.

Your problem is typical of the many problems reported with McAfee, and that may well be the cause. McAfee is free with Infinity but isn't built-in in the sense that you have to take it. Is your previous anti-virus still installed? If so, you should get rid of one of them anyway, and the usual advice here would be to ditch McAfee.
Even if McAfee is the your only AV I would replace it. If your previous AV is no longer available there are plenty of free options, and Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is as good a choice as any. There's advice on uninstalling McAfee here.

Help required in accessing a file on shared path

I am trying to access a file present in a shared location using a custom component. When i run my Java code the file is accessible. But when i deploy the same code on livecycle as a custom component, the code is not able to access the file.
The location of the file is as follows: \\Shiva\Test\tempExcel.xlsx
The path string i use in Java code is: ////Shiva//Test//tempExcel.xlsx
Can someone help me with this issue. Do i have to change the pattern of the file path when i am trying to access the file from adobe livecycle custom component?
In case i need to provide permissions to livecycle for accessing the Excel sheet please suggest on how i should implement the same.

readResource content operation will fetch documents from Adobe Repository. Unless you checkin the required file into repository, the above error will remain.
From a shared folder, you should able to read the files using readDocument (using FileUtils) without any issues. Perhaps, the access rights prevent the execution.
If you are running JBoss as a windows service (turnkey will create a windows service for the JBoss instance), try the following:
Run -> services.msc -> Right click on JBoss service for Adobe LiveCycle -> Properties
Check the value given under logon tab. The User Account mentioned there should have appropriate access to the shared folder you are attempting read.

You could also download the FREE Adobe DNG Converter version 7.1 or later and convert your RAWs to DNG and import those into your Lightroom 2.

not knowing the flat file's format and why you need SIMBA for it, Forms provides a text_io package that can read from files. You need to parse the file's content and then bring this to a datablock.

Hi,
I need access XML file from HTTP. Server need parameters in the URL to generate XML files. For example, http://fileserver/xmlfile?orderid=123&custid=321.
I created a XML Data Server in ODI 11g. The JDBC Url should be jdbc:snps:xml?f=<filename>&s=<schema>&d=<DTD>.
However, it reports error when replaced the <filename> with "http://fileserver/xmlfile?orderid=123&custid=321".
I found it's caused by ampersand of the HTTP Url. I guess ODI treat custid=321 as JDBC parameter rather than HTTP parameter.
How to fill the JDBC Url in this situation?

I need to select certain files from TM to transfel to my Macbook Pro

I bought a new machine and installed my system from time machine. I HAD a macbook from 2005 that had the airport connectivity issue. Apparently the glitch transferred via TM to the new Macbook Pro and I couldn't connect wirelessly. I worked with someone and we tried everything, even a disk repair form the CD but the problem couldn't be resolved. I erased the HD and reinstalled OS X from the disk and didn't use TM (network issue is solved).
Now I need to access my files, and some software, from TM and put them on the new machine. How do I do that? When I open TM, the computer wants to format a new drive. I tried opening the existing external drive and a "Mobile Me" message popped up. I closed that out and did not try to go any further.

Do you mean using +Select DIsk+ on the Time Machine Preferences window? If so, then no, you don't want to set up Time Machine to do backups (yet).
If the connectivity issue is solved, you should be able to use +Migration Assistant+ to transfer your apps, users, and data, from the last backup. See Using Migration Assistant.
