Help needed to connect to wifi on touch please!
The ipod touch has recognised my home wifi connection and I have entered the password. The wifi symbol is showing in the top left hand corner. On the settings page the IP address and subnet mask has automaticaly come up but I can't connect to any web pages.
The message I get is that it can't connect to the server.
Should there be something in the Router, DNS, Search Domains and Client ID boxes?
Please help if you can.

Help needed in Connecting to SAP From Eclipse
Hi All,
Currently, we have a requirement where we need to retrieve data from SAP System and need to upload the same in a Third Party Application (Java based system).
We are able to create an account in Java Application using Eclipse IDE by hard coding the Account details. We are stuck up in establishing the SAP connection and retrieving the details and then creating the extracted account details in Java application from Eclipse.
Any pointers on this will be of great help.
Regards,
EurekaHi Eureka,
Please refrain from creating cross-posts in parallel forums, moreover this question is JCo-related and is not directly connected with Java EE 5. The Help needed in Connecting to SAP From Eclipse in the Java Programming forum would be enough. Please continue the discussion there.

Can't connect to wifi ipod touch 4 only when using WPA2
I recentrly upgraded my router to a MI424WR Rev I. Since then an iPod Touch 4 can't connect to the wifi. While this is occurring I can connect to the same wifi 2 ASUS laptops, 1 Samsung laptop, 1 Dell laptop, 1 iPad, 1 iPhone5, 1 iPhone 5c, 1 ipod touch 3, and 1 Android tablet. The only thing that can't connect is the ipod touch 4. The device can connect to wifi at school, where no passord is needed, and other places like that. It jsut keeps showing the erros "incorrect password" and can't connect at home. I've tried used a fixed channel -1,6,11- as opposed to automated but with the same results.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
ThanksNote that there are different types of resets on Apple devices. Not all resets delete WiFi info. "Forget Network" will cause an iThing to forget all passwords and network settings. The next time you connect, it will start over. If you haven't tried "Forget Network," give it a whirl.
Good Luck.

Help needed in connecting a Mac Mini to AT&T DSL
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem will be appreciated. I'm helping a friend connect a Mac to the Internet using AT&T DSL. The computer is a Mac Mini, 1.42 GHz PPC G4, running OS X 10.5. It is connected by Ethernet to an AT&T DSL modem. The Mini's Network preference is configured to connect using DHCP.
Strange symptoms include:
1. Safari will not connect to the Internet.
2. However, Firefox WILL connect and loads all websites I tried.
3. Apple Mail will connect and download messages from my friend's previous email address (not AT&T), but will not connect to allow me to configure his new AT&T account.
4. Other programs that need a network connection won't run; for example, the Software Update preference, when checking for new updates, claims that there is no network connection.
Do these symptoms indicate that the Mini's network preferences are not configured correctly, or that the DSL modem is not configured correctly?
More information: with the modem is an "Installation Wizard Disc" CD with a setup program. It's supposed to work for any PPC G3 or greater Mac, which certainly fits this Mini. BUT, when run on the Mini, the setup program displays a message that the computer's processor is "unrecognized". Then the setup program quits. I ran the setup program on my MacBook Pro laptop connected to the DSL modem. It went through a lengthy process with messages about "configuring the modem". After this, I was able to connect to the Internet with Safari using the laptop. This seems to indicated that there's nothing basically wrong with the modem or DSL connection. However, I can't run the setup program on the Mini. (The above symptoms were after getting the laptop to work, then switching the Ethernet connection back to the Mini.)This is a strange problem, especially since Firefox is working OK.
You might try using OpenDNS. They have a good set of instructions about how to do this here:
https://www.opendns.com/start
It's possible that AT&T's DNS servers aren't responding fast enough, and Safari is timing out quicker than Firefox.
The other option is to call AT&T and ask for support in accessing their DSL modem.
A third option would be to download a system maintenance utility like Yasu
http://jimmitchell.org/projects/yasu/
and use it to clear all the caches in the system -- in case the Mini somehow is using stale information about the net. -
Help needed to connect to remote PPTP VPN via PIX 515e
Hello,
A user in our office needs to connect to a client's remote PPTP VPN but can't connect. The user is running Windows 7. We have a Cisco PIX 515e firewall that is running PIX Version 6.3(3) - this is what our user is having to go through to try and make the connection to the client's remote VPN.
The client's network guys have come back and said the issue is at our side. They say that they can see some of our traffic but not all of it. The standard error is shown below, and they say it's symptomatic of the client-side firewall not allowing PPTP traffic:
"A connection between the VPN server and the VPN client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX has been established, but the VPN connection cannot be completed. The most common cause for this is that a firewall or router between the VPN server and the VPN client is not configured to allow Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) packets (protocol 47). Verify that the firewalls and routers between your VPN server and the Internet allow GRE packets. Make sure the firewalls and routers on the user's network are also configured to allow GRE packets. If the problem persists, have the user contact the Internet service provider (ISP) to determine whether the ISP might be blocking GRE packets."
I have very little firewall experience and absolutely no Cisco experience I'm afraid. From looking at the PIX config I can see the following line:
fixup protocol pptp 1723.
Does this mean that the PPTP protcol is enabled on our firewall? Is this for both incoming and outgoing traffic?
I can see no reference to GRE 47 in the PIX config. Can anyone advise me what I should look for to see if this has been enabled or not?
I apologise again for my lack of knowledge. Any help or advice would be very gratefully received.
RosHi Eugene,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. Please see our full PIX config below. I've XX'd out names and IP addresses as I'm never comfortable posting those type of details in a public forum. I hope that the information below is still sufficient for you.
Thanks again for your help,
Ros

4S connectivity to WiFi, and touch problems since IOS 8
I have an iPhone 4S. Since I downloaded IOS 8 and updates, I have been experiencing intermittent loss of connectivity to WiFi and a few instances of the screen freezing up on me. I've already had Apple support, where they helped me empty phone and reinstall the software, then subsequently all apps and items back onto phone. It worked for 2 days and then started with the same issues again. I then uninstalled the one app I had installed since iOS 8, hoping that was the problem. It was not.
I was told there is no going back to an older system. I have never had any problems with this phone until the new IOS 8 was added. Is there anyone else who has similar problems? If you search this forum and the "Using iPhone" forum, you will find hundreds of posts about it.

Ok, so here's the not so sad story. I bought an iPod Touch 2g 16g through Ebay - so forget warranties. Luckily I did not pay much. The description said it was stuck on the apple logo, so I figured it would be an easy put into recovery mode and restore problem.
Not so much.
If you plug the iPod in and charge up the battery the LCD will come to life after a while with the apple logo, then it displays the spinning wheel with the apple logo over it. That will last anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes, then the iPod will go blank for a few secs and then start up the cycle all over again.
As stated, this iPod will NOT enter either DFU or recovery mode and believe me I've tried it several times several different ways with different timings, connected via USB to a Mac, connected to a different Mac running Windows, and connected to just the charger. Nothing. Occasionally the screen might go blank while holding the power and home buttons but nothing else happens and then it starts it's usual cycle again.
Again, iPod NOT recognized by iTunes on either Mac or Windows side. Since I got off Ebay and seller didn't know much about it, I have no idea if someone tried to jailbreak this or not.
I will not put much money into this machine. So I guess my question is: does this behavior mean that the motherboard is clearly fried? Are there any software programs that might diagnose what the problem is? Could it be as simple as a fried battery?
And most importantly, is this iPod simply toast or is there anything anyone can suggest????
Really any suggestions would be greatly greatly appreciated. Seems a shame to just trash an iPod touch that might need a simple fix...
If it helps matters, I can tinker with iPods somewhat and have torn down and replaced several iPod touch 1g and 2g glass and digitizers with no problems. I'm somewhat software savvy but the whole jailbreak thing is new territory... and I can't really figure out the command in Windows or Mac terminals to list all connected devices so I have no idea if the computer even knows the iPod is there, even if iTunes doesn't. Guess that's it... ummm, please help???Nothing huh? No one's had this problem or this isn't fixable... oh well... if anybody comes up with anything I'll check in occasionally...

Help needed to extend my wifi so TC can be accessed..
Hi there,
Ive attached an image of my current network setup to help explain things. But basically, i am currently unable to access my Time Capsule (and attached USB drive) when I'm connected via my NicksWifi2 wifi signal downstairs. If I'm attached to the NicksWifi signal all works fine.
Is there anything I can easily do to make my TPlink router behave like it is my main router?
Ive seen wifi extenders (and ones that go through power http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ECBRGW8?colid=1O1PXGWZD901F&coliid=I3V052B XIQ2OD0&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl) but I'm not sure if id have the same problem if I bought one of these?
any help would be much appreciated as this is quite frustrating
thanks!
NickYour setup should work.. as it stands.. but the TP-Link should be in WAP mode or WAN Bypass.
Go back to your original picture.
Virgin modem working as router (although having it bridged and the TC as main router is also fine).
Then the TP-Link (what model is this exactly??)
Should be in bridge .. which in this case means router bridge not wireless bridge. Unfortunately the terms are easily confused.
The easiest way IMHO is to use WAN bypass.
In the TP-Link router set the IP to something on the same network as the existing devices.. better though if outside the DHCP range.
eg.. virgin router is 192.168.1.1 (I have no idea what it actually is.. so you will need to fill that in).
Lets say the TC gets an IP of 192.168.1.10 from it.. could be anything.. and it is better to set it so it doesn't change.
Give the TP-Link a different IP.. and here is where you can strike problems.. Lets give it an IP of 192.168.1.100 but tell me if it doesn't stick.. or refuses the IP.. I have tried this setup and had issues..
Anyway .. if you can set the IP correctly to something in the range.. then turn off the dhcp in the TP-Link.
Plug your EOP adapter.. LAN of the upstairs to LAN of the TP-Link.. (hence the name.. bypass the WAN).
This is successful for 90% of routers. TP-Link routers sometimes have preset IP addresses that are not allowed.. it is always assumed that the TP-Link is going to be the main router.. but you can work around it..
It is going to help loads to have an actual model number.
And I want IP addresses of virgin modem and the TC.. I also want you to set the TC to always get the same IP otherwise this is really unreliable.
You can use this method to setup the TC..

Hi,
I have been trying to connect to Oracle database in my codes. I have tried using OdbcConnection and OleDbconnection. But both did not allowed me to connect to the database. The database, testDb, can be accessed using SQL plus as well as the SQL developer. I even tested the connection successful using ODBC data source administrator.
the following is my code for the connection string:
OdbcConnection connectionString = "Driver={Oracle ODBC Driver};Server=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP )(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=Te stDb)));Uid=scott;Pwd=password;";
whenever localhost (127.0.0.1) is used, this means that no remote client can ever connect to this system
The problem involves ODBC configuration & has nothing to do with Oracle. -
Help needed to connect Archos G90 to BT HHv2
Aa a newbie here I hope this is the right place to post. I've recently got an Archos G90 tablet. It tells me it's connected to my home hub but fails to connect with the internet. Same with BTFON. In fact I'm still stuck with limited/access problem when I try to connect to FON on my laptop. After trying to connect with the Archos I have turn the device off and then restart the hub to restore its settings . I've also reset the hub but there was no change. As far as I can tell my hub settings are okay and it has the latest firmware.
So mainly I need to get the tablet connected reliably and without upsetting the hub settings.
Secondly if there is a link to a cure for the limited/local access problem with my home BTFON I'd be delighted to know.
Internet access via the hub is generally reliable on both my laptop and PC, both connected wirelessly. I have BT Infinity and Vista OS.Hi Johnjazz,
Thanks for posting. I've had a look around and found this which might help. Let me know if it does.
Cheers
David

Hi there.
I connected to my livebox after about three attempts. You have to pair the livebox by pressing either the number one or two that is on the box. When it is in pair mode it stays that way for ten minutes so it gives you chance to try your wep code that is on the bottom of the box a few times. I can't remember which one was successful but i did try the letters in uppercase and lower and one of them seemed to connect.
Welcome to discussions by the way.
Hope this helps JB -
[HELP NEEDED] - Airport Connection "Indicator" - Erratic
Guys - have you seen an indicator (timer) like this on your Macbook?
http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/1324/screenshot01pj2.jpg
When I use at home with my Time capsule, it (the timer) always "appear" and "disappears" with no reason
Here's my observations:-
1) "Timer" only appears when it is connected at home with my TC.
2) It does not appear when I'm at office connected to normal wifi AP
3) The quality is bad when it erratically appears and disappears.
4) However, the timer showed it keeps on "ticking" but somehow I felt that its like disconnect from the Internet. But checking with "ping" proves otherwise (it still remained connected)
5) When I connect via cable, the speed is exceptionally fast.
Question:-
1) Is this normal to all TC users (I mean the "timer" appears?
2) If its a problem, how do we solve it?
Appreciate your kind help.
Thanks. You're right (and is the reason I am searching these forums now). As the time connected disappears and reappears, it appears the TC is dropping the connection.....and you can see this in the ping - if you set Terminal up to ping the TC every 5 seconds or so (which I did, thinking it would help it keep the connection) you can see normal pings of 20-30ms, and then the odd one as long as 600ms when it seem to drop the connection.
I have tried everything - changing channels, using interference robust, using different frequencies, turning off IvP6(?), rebooting, resetting.....nothing seems to work.
