  • I currently have iTunes version 7 and I need to upgrade to version 10.  I am afraid of losing all my music if I just download 10 and when I use the "Check for updates" in the version 7 help menu, it tells me the server cannot be contacted.

I currently have iTunes version 7 on my computer and need to upgrade to version 10 to sync my new nano iPod.  When I tried the "check for updates" under the version 7 "help" menu, it said it could not contact the update server.  I am afraid if I just download version 10 from the website, it will wipe out my music library.  What should I do to upgrade?

Back up your music and install from the website. You probably won't need to do this, but if your library is erased, restore it from the backup.

  • Please help, need to upgrade from 9.2.2 to osx 10.4 Tiger on imac g3 400 dv

Hello, I would greatly appreciate assistance to upgrade my operating system from 9.2.2 to osx 10.4.10. I have gotten the firmware upgrade installed to 4.1.9. Can anyone tell me what else I need to upgrade to have this computer able to install Tiger 10.4, on an imac g3 400 dv slot loading.....
Right now when I try to install the disc 10.4 using the option key at restart, it wont load the install disc. Any help would be appreciated , thank u in advance!!!!!!!

Hi, thank u for responding, my harddrive is 10 gigs, and my memory ram is only 64 megs, I ordered 2 512 mg from 18004memory.com and it didnt work , the computer said there was a memory issue. So I returned the memory back to 18004 memory.com...... I will neve ruse them again , because on their website they stated its guranteed to work and is compliant with imac 400 dv. They stated they will send me another set from another manufacturer, but to return the memory first.....
I know I meet all the requirements for tiger , except for the ram which apple says I need 256 mg,
But I was referring to any firmaware upgrades or bios upgrades or any of those type of programming upgrades to ready it for tiger, I know I installed the 4.19, and went from os 9.0 to its current 9.22, I think that alone was 5 upgrades. I think I might be missing an upgrade or maybe not. I will run the utility u posted and thank u for that.....
Apple told me that I can installl tiger 10.4.10 on this computer.
The install discs I bought on ebay state imac MAC osx install disc one and there is and install disc 2, it says AHT VERSION 3A127, and dated as produced in the year 2007. it colored grey , but doesnt have the black X like someone else posted it should have
Oh and it does open the files in 9.22, it does mount, and it does have folders,
Thank u for ur help as I progress to ultimately saving this imac....
    many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Help: Need to upgrade my macbook pro

I purchased my macbook pro in 2006. I need help upgrading memory and possible hard disk. I understnd i also need to upgrade the OS.
    The specs are:
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
    Processor 2GHz intel core Duo
    Memory 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Please help.

Based on what your wrote there are a few things.
    Operating System:
Since your system is a Core Duo system, the latest version of OS X that you can upgrade to is 10.6 Snow Leopard. The OS is for sale at the Apple Online store for $19.00 USD.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    RAM Upgrade:
When it comes to RAM upgrades, I usually recommend Other World Computing (also known as OWC) as the vendor. Their tech and sales support from my experience (and others over the web) is good, and they offer a lifetime warranty for their RAM modules. You can find compatible RAM modules in the link below.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade
Depending on which MacBook Pro model you have, you can upgrade up to 2 GB of memory to 6 GB of memory. You can find your model at the bottom of the page.
    HDD Upgrade:
The 2006 MacBook Pros support up to 1 Terrabyte of HDD space. Again, I recommend OWC as the vendor for the HDD for the same reasons I explained above.

I hope you find this information helpful!

  • Help needed on upgrading portal application from sp3 to weblogic portal 10

    Hi Guys
I have an application which is currently running on BEA Weblogic Portal 8.1 sp3. We need to upgrade our application from 8.1 sp3 to BEA Weblogic 10 version.
    (1) Is there any way for upgradation from 8.1 sp3 to portal 10 directly or do I need to upgrade it from sp3 to sp4 and then from sp4 to portal 10? Pls clarify?
    (2) How reliable are the BEAs automated scripts for retaining the personalization/customization of my application on sp3 to upgraded version i.e portal 10?
    (3) I believe, we do not need to do any coding/design changes/architectural changes into my application for this upgrade.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Jameel

    1) I believe only sp4 and later to weblogic 10 is supported (http://www.bea.com/content/news_events/white_papers/BEA_WL_Portal10_ds.pdf)
so yes i think you need to upgrade from sp3 to a later version of the service pack
    2) You tell us :)
    3) Depends on your application and the features you have used. E.g. I believe Content management has changed between sp3 and what 10 supports.

  • Need to upgrade to version 11.1. can this be done remotely or do I have to tac my imac to the apple store?

Need to upgrade my Mac OS 10.5.8 to 11.1 or higher. I cannot access icloud, iphone updates, flashplayer, can't watch movies, or use itunes (I'm sure there are other options I can't access but haven't found them all) unless I upgrade.  Can this be done remotely or do I have to take my PC to an apple dealer?

Version 11.1 of what? There is no version of OS X with that number so presumably you are referring to iTunes, which requires an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard or better:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • Iphoto is saying i need to upgrade the version but there is no upgrade available.

I downloaded the latest yosemete os and after that i wasn't able to get iphoto to work. Its saying i need to upgrade it but under updates there is none available.

Go to the Applications folder and move any iPhoto application there to the Trash bin in the Dock.  Don't empty it at this time.
Go back to the App store and look for iPhoto again.  See if you can't download it now.  If there's still issues contact the App Store support personnel via this website:  http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/.
To take a screenshot of a selected area of the screen use this key combination:
    Command-Shift-4
Capture a selection of the screen to a file, or press the spacebar to capture just a window
Which is from this Apple document: OS X: Keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

  • I need to upgrade my version and can't find help or any other way

I got a message saying I was using an old and insecure version of firefox. I was directed to click on help. I can't find help.
When I clicked the free download a message said it didn't exist. Try another version.
I have been having problems with viruses and would like to clean firefox or load a new version while keeping my homepage.
I keep hearing firefox is known for not protecting users from viruses.

When I try to install the free app I get three boxes that seem simple enough to follow EXCEPT the first box opens with 62% downloaded and never changes. When I try to click here it doesn't move. Once it opened the choice of open with or file . When I chose open it went to a bunch of apps that are not related. How do I select what to open it with? Why is it stuck at 62%

  • Help needed after upgrade to 3.1.0.00.32

    Hi!
    Help!
I seem to have succesfully upgraded from v2.0.... to v3.0.00.32 on an XE 10g database.
Having started the database homepage, I can login to my application schema (it took me a little while to figure out which workspacename to enter, but that turned out to be a very simple thing: the name of the schema in which I created my application in the previous XE version.
Running the application seems to work: I get the login page, and it accepts my username/password, and it actually shows the first page in the application.
But to my absolute horror, I then find that none of the links to other pages work! I am using a single level of tabs: clicking them doesn't have any effect. Link items in the report on the first page don't work either. No error, no message, just a plain nothingness.
    Help! Please!
    Greetings,
    Remco

    Hi Dimitri,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I just verified that
    . I cannot create a new application
. the sample application works the same as my own: the first page is displayed, but the tabs don't work, nor does any button. Some hyperlinks (e.g. the breadcrumbs) do work.
. I can log on as admin on workspace Internal
. all the pages look odd, as if something isn't working right. For a minute I suspected this might have something to do with the fact that I maintain and run apex with the Safari browser, but then I tried running it with IE and got the same odd 'look and feel'.
By 'odd' I mean: question marks on spaces that I think should contain images, badly aligned text, the logoff text appears on three lines, etc.
I won't be able to get back to this problem before 10pm tonight (GMT+1) - just so you know that if it takes a while for me to react, I haven't all of a sudden lost interest.
    Kind regards,
    Remco

  • I am running 10.6.8 snow leopard and need to upgrade to version 10.7 Lion or later version to run new turbotax application.  Do I need to upgrade to YosemiteWhat should I upgrade to

Can you upgrade Mac OS 10.6.8 to an earlier version (10.7) rather than the latest version Yosemite

    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Help needed with Safari CSS issues

    Hi Everyone
I'm not sure if this is the best forum to post this in - but couldn't find anywhere more appropriate!
    My site, neilcauldwell.com, is suffering from two issues in Safari (it looks fine in IE6/7, FF and Opera);
    1. The 'Blog' page is supposed to show three 'windows' at the top for quick navigation between the main topics. However, these won't show in Safari 2 or 3 beta. Does anyone know how I fix this issue? Is it a problem with using overflow:hidden;? Is there not enough room for Safari to present all three boxes (they are packed in closely)?
    2. The footer is squashed into a narrow column on the left of the screen, but only in Safari 2 (3 beta doesn't have this issue). The div#footer has been given "float:left; overflow:hidden;" attributes. I've done some reading round and it looks likes the overflow:hidden; is the source of the problems. However, if I don't float the div#footer to the left, all the elements inside the footer are rendered correctly, but the div#footer doesn't wrap all the way round the containing elements and, therefore, appears only to be around 40px in height.
If you can help solve these issues, you're a legend!

You can use Edit...Update Thumbnail on selected images.  With 5K images, you'll probably want to do it in stages, perhaps one folder at a time.
I don't think that Optimizing or Repairing the catalog will solve your problem, but I could be wrong about that....
