  • Help needed with 3rd party software and Windows XP on MacBook

My Brother embroidery software has stopped working on the XP side of my MacBook. After all kinds of uninstalling and installing with support from Brother, they decided the problem is not the software and I should "contact my computer company." Since this is really a Mac, would Apple be able to help me with a Windows issue? The genius bar said no, Microsoft says no, so what is the point of buying a using a dual platform machine if no one takes responsibility for helping? I'm very frustrated and could use help from someone who works on both platforms.

*"would Apple be able to help me with a Windows issue?"*
Sorry, but no. Apple does not support third party operating systems and applications.

  • Problem With Photoshop CS4 ME On windows 7

    Hello,
I Installed Photoshop CS4 ME On windows 7 but every i open photoshop, it gives me a error with this message:
I have HP DV5 1299ee (NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT) I downloaded the newer version of my VGA Driver and installed it(version 186.81) but it errored again and i go to adobe help center, and i know that i must active GPU and GUI but i don't know how to active them.
please help me to active them.
And I have other problem, when i want to save a edited picture, the default format is .PSD ,how can i change it to .JPG .
    thank you

In regard to you question on changing default to always save in jpeg, if my memory serves me correctly, and it often does not, this question has been asked before and the answer is you can not.
The file you want to save may have info that will be lost as a jpeg so .psd is offered as the default.  If you open a jpeg and then choose save the default will be jpeg.
You can set up an action to save the psd as a jpeg.  Make it a shortcut on one of the F keys.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended and Lion 10.7.4

Does Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended work on Lion 10.7.4? when I get the "Licensing for this product has stopped working" and I advance to where I'm to click on the License RecoveryLauncher.app it does not appear. A file called License Recovery Launcher does appear with the circle with the line through it.

Since this post is 4 months old, but for some reason only appeared today,  assume problem solved.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended and Win 7 Professiona

How do I install 64 bit PS CS4
in 64 bit Windows 7 Professional?
Evewr hear of virtualization in running bot xp programns and windows 7 programs on Win
    dows 7 Proessional 64 Bit?

You have to install CS4 Extended on Windows 7 as Admin. when you insert the disk don't run it. Choose to explore the disk and look for the PS CS4 folder. Inside the folder look for the .exe file and right click on that and choose run as Admin.
Also turn off any anti-virus and windows defender prior to install. If you have Adobe reader installed remove it before install.
when PS CS4 reaches about 90 percent complete install it will hang at 90 percent. This is normal so wait it out.
After install is complete reboot computer.
Go to start and look for the PS CS4 64 bit virsion. Right click on that, choose properties, compatibility, then check run as admin. hit apply and ok to close out.
    Don't forget to update CS4.

  • Satellite A200 - Picture issue with Photoshop CS4 Extended

    Hi Everyone
I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 notebook and I have tried to install Photoshop CS4 Extended yesterday.
There appears to be a problem as every image I bring up looks like this (image link to my flickr account to show what is happening) http://www.flickr.com/photos/meg_and_fred/2990212103/
I have updated the ATI driver, uninstalled and reinstalled CS4 and its still not working. I also have Photoshop Elements 6 which is opening the same images perfectly so it mus be a CS4 and A200 compatibility problem - does anyone know how to fix this or what the problem could be?
    Thanks so much!!

Maybe you should update your Photoshop CS4 Extended software.
In my opinion this could solve this issue because as you said the picture can be edited properly using the Photoshop Elements 6.
I think its ONLY a Photoshop CS4 Extended software issue.

  • Help needed with CS 4 Clean Script - Windows XP

Trying to use the CS4 clean script after having major problems with an install of CS4. The readme file directs me to download and run the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, however that is the only direction given. Does this mean I am supposed to run the windows installer clean up and remove all the adobe products? Or does the CS 4 Clean Script just need the software installed and the CS4 clean script uses it? I'm unsure of what to do in the "run" process of MS Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
Any help would be appreciated. THis install has been a nightmare, and I'm hoping that the clean script will solve my problems.

  • Photoshop cs6 extended and windows 8

I Have been told different answers pertaining to photoshop cs6 being compatible with windows 8. Does anyone here use photoshop cs6 on windows 8? Specifically photoshop cs6 extended? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

The base code of windows 7, vista , 8, and 8.1 are all identical. They are all the same version. They are only point upgrades from each other (based on information from Microsoft)
This means that odds are quite good if it works on 7 or vista, it will work on 8 or 8.1.
This biggest differences are user interface changes between each version of windows, other than that bug fixes.
That said, the .net code is updated and it is possible that something written for version 8 would not be backward compatible.
On another note, I have not heard of any complaints using CS6 on 8, so I am fairly confident that it will run. But like anything, there is always that possibility. (That was my disclaimer, lol.)

  • Problems with photoshop elements 10 and windows 8

I bought photoshop elements 10 for my wife last year for Christmas.  She decided not to install it on our old computer because we knew that we were planning to replace the computer this year.  We finally got around to replacing it and the new computer came with Windows 8.  She installed her photoshop on it and she is having problems with it.  I'm wondering if there is a compatability problem with the windows 8?  Is there an update for the pse 10 that will make it work with windows 8?

PSE10 is said to be compactable with windows8. What kind of problem are you facing? Did you try launching after resetting preferences? to know more about reseting preferences, check http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/undo-redo-cancel-actions.html#restore_defa ult_preferences

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended and W3D

I just upgraded to CS4 Extended, largely for the new 3D capabilities, and was astounded to learn that it doesn't support export of models to Adobe's only current 3D format, Shockwave W3D!  Can anyone give me one good reason for this incredibly short-sighted omission, other than product team NIH?
Here's a quick reality check.  Much of Adobe doesn't seem to realize it, but Shockwave is still by far the most capable and most optimized format for 3D on the web, and Director, for all its faults, is still the best IDE for developing 3D web applications.  That's a testament to what Macromedia created, and how highly they valued it.  You'd think that Adobe would want to build on this advantage before Microsoft comes out with Silverlight 3D and eats Adobe's lunch, but judging by the lack of support for W3D in CS4 Extended it would seem that they haven't gotten the message yet.  I sincerely hope they get it soon.
    Robert

Thanks for the info. I do agree with you that it is weird that Adobe would skip over their own products.
Here is the submit request page. Maybe Adobe might do something.

  • Help Printing with Photoshop cs4!!

hy guys i have a mac with 10.5.8 and i just got a hp cp1518ni laser printer but i just can;'t get to print with photoshop it woirks with everything else

Tried adding borders in custom setup to see if by chance it would make a difference but unfortunately it didn't make any difference.
I believe that the problem is connected to the profiles. I know that a problem exists with the combination of computer OS, printer and PS CS4 which is addressed on luminouslandscape.com
    http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/solving.shtml
This work around allows for printing without a profile but does not allow for printing with a custom profile assigned.
I can print the exact same file with the settings I normally use using CS3 and it prints perfectly. I know it is also not the file itself, the same
happens with any file sent to the printer using PS CS4.
Of interest as well, Illustrator 4, Indesign 4 all also print without a problem.
So now what exactly is your problem? Not being able to print from PSCS4 or double profiling when you do print?

  • I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended and an error occurs.

I am trying to install the above program and Error 30: The system cannot read from the specified device.  My DVD drive works so I don't understand why it is not finishing the install.  Then on my programs it says that I have Adobe Photoshop CS4.  Any ideas?

  • Need help with PC build for use with Photoshop CS4 Extended - Have I made the right choices?

    Hello,
I'm very new to the inner workings of a PC...this will be first time building one from scratch.  I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to be confident.  I will use the PC primarily for editing, secondarily for iTunes management.  I've heard that I should have, at the very least, an SSD for PS, other apps and the O/S.  I'll also have a hard drive for data storage.  Do I need yet another SSD for scratch?  If so, any recs for one?  Also, my current build (which does not include any SSDs) is about $800.  What can I skinny down, without sacrificing a huge amount of speed/performance?  I am looking for major guidance here...I'm ready to order, but I keep second-guessing my choices.  I want to make sure I get this right the first time around.  I want this machine to last me a good long while.  Any help at all will be HUGELY appreciated!

Make sure the motherboard is the third revision as the earlier two had problems with the i5-2500K (Sandy Bridge)
I prefer Asus motherboards but doesn't mean the Gigabyte is a problem. (I note that it scored 4 eggs...)
May not make a difference in Photoshop but for Premiere the Geforce video cards with GDDR5 are preferred.
The LiteOn iHas 224 does lightscribe which is a nice touch for clients/gifts.
There is no room to save as I would consider your build minimum specs for a nice photoshop experience.
As for SSD drives...my research of reviews and articles makes me feel the technology is not ready for mission critical work. So if you are running a business then I recommend not using SSD drives. Rather look at Raptor 10,000 rpm drive for Windows and Photoshop and use the Spinpoint for storage. If not business then I've read the intel x25 SSD drives are solid but I have no personal experience with them.
    Cheers,
    Steve
