Help..New Tv shows/Photos replace previous ones

Every time i try to sync new photos to my ipod they replace the previous ones,same goes for Tv shows.dod i have to leave the photos in my computer hard drive even though ive already downloaded them becaiuse Ive done that and when it starts to sync up,it merley erases whats on the ipod and then replaces it and the new stuff again.I thought it was like importing music.Also the photo import feature doesnt make sense as the ipod usb cable doesnt fit into my camera and i fesr the same thing would happen.this is also what happens when i download tv shows as anything previously on it gets erased.

That's a good way to paint yourself into a corner. The computer's HD is backup for the iPod. Further, a common iPod repair procedure is a "Restore," which wipes out the contents of the iPod. If you're hurting for HD space on your computer, I strongly suggest an external drive. I've seen 250G units for as low as US$79. Further, with or without the external unit, you should consider further backup to other physical media. The iTunes app includes a slick backup utility for CD/DVD discs. After one "full backup," you can do "incremental backups."

In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.

Time Machine doesn't erase old backups. That's only done when your Time Machine disk or Time Capsule gets full.
If you want to mean that you have connected the Time Capsule to another Mac to create another Time Machine backup, you should know that the old backup isn't modified, and you can still restore files from that old backup > http://pondini.org/TM/E3.html

Why will Firefox allow me to have multiple tabs available, but not allow me to switch between tabs, and can only look at a new tab by closing the previous one?

Whenever I open a new tab, it appears on the tab bar where it should, but if I click on it nothing happens, the tab won't open, and I can't switch between multiple tabs. The only way to get to a new tab is to close the one I am currently on, and even then it will only open the next tab in order of precedence, so I can not even choose which tab is the next to view. This problem is making it impossible to use firefox as a research tool which requires fast switching back and forth between multiple tabbed pages simultaneously.

New Airport Extreme to replace old one

Bought new Airport/Time Capsule to replace my old Airport Extreme. Can I somehow just move/upgrade profile so as not to write again all the mac addresses of my peripherals/computers/ipads/ipod/etc? Should I connect them both first and then choose which one to run existing home network? Thanks for help.

Thanks to this thread, I was able to replicate the suggested steps to replace an old 2nd generation AEBS with a new 2TB Time Capsule while also retaining my prior configuration settings. I am in a Windows 7 environment. The process did not go 100% smoothly, but wound up being fine. My experience may help others hoping to transfer their current AEBS settings to an upgraded Airport.
Based on the advice in other threads, with my current (old) AEBS up and running, I first connected by current AEBS to my new Time Capsule via an ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports. I then powered up the new Time Capsule and launched windows networking center and my Airport Utility.
The new Time Capsule was quickly found and I proceeded to follow the menu steps where I was presented with the convenient option to replace my current network. I did this, and it all seemed to work fine, but I did not see any messages instructing me to swap the connecting cables to the new Time Capsule...
...My newly configured Time Capsule the disappeared from my Airport Utility and a message said it could not be found. I panicked a little here, and did a reset, and rebooted my PC, and then started the process all over again. This time, after configuring the new Time Capsule, and the same disappearance in Airport Utility, I went to the Windows Networking center and found the TC, launched it, and Airport Utility gave me a message saying the new TC needed to be plugged into a modem. I figured this is what I needed to do the first time around, but I was waiting for the Airport Utility to tell me to do so (I was a bit too passive). So, I connected the modem to the TC via the WAN port, moved my two other ethernet connections to their LAN ports, and the TC turned green. Nice!
However, my Airport Express, which I used to extend my network, then disappeared from the Aiport Utility. I figured cos things changed in my overall configuration. I then took another 5th generation AEBS I had waiting in the wings and set that up instead to extend my network, and that was very quick and error free. So, I now have a new TC and 5th generation AEBS providing my wired and wifi network in my NYC apt. Cool.

My son has an iPod Classic. He used to use the family computer to load his iPod. The family computer has the latest iTunes, but was under a family login. My son now has a new computer, his own iTunes account, and the iPod shows an error message when he tries to load music onto it.

Apple sent me a new iPod touch to replace the one that stopped working. The new one has the same problem as the old one. Should I send it back?

I bought an iPod touch 4th genertion in August 2013. About 3 weeks ago, iTunes told me an update was available for my iPod so I clicked update. It then said it had detected an iPod in recovery mode and I had to restore my iPod. I tried to restore it when another pop up appeared saying an unkown error occured and it was unable to restore my iPod. I talked to someone on the online help page and they said I needed to talk to someone on the phone because it was too complicated to explain. The first person I spoke to on the phone could not identify my problem so she got her supervisor who said I needed to send it in for repair. I sent it in and yesterday I received a brand new iPod in the mail with a letter saying they could not fix my old iPod and this was a replacement. I plugged the new iPod into my computer to restore it and everything was fine. It said my software was not up to date so I clicked update and the exact same thing happened with the new ipod. It told me to restore my iPod and then said it was unable to be restored. They replacement arrived yesterday. Should I send it back?

What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.

NEW Domain Controller to Replace Old One

After you demote the physical machine, but before you change the new machine , make sure to carefully go through all your DNS zones and delete the references to the IP and Host Name of the demoted machine. I found that demoting DCs doesn't do a good job of cleaning out DNS.

I'm building a new DC for my network and have a couple of questions.
I currently have 2 DCs, one is a VM (DC1 also FSMO) and the other a physical box (DC2). DC2 is on aging equipment and needs replacing so my plan was to build a new box and create a new DC, but I want to put the IP address from DC2 on the new DC (DC3) so I don't have to change the DNS config on all of my client PCs.
How would you go about this? - I'm thinking, get DC3 up and running (fully configured as a DC) then demote DC2 and decommission it, then change the IP of DC3 to the address that was used by DC2.
It seems a little too easy and I feel like I'm missing something so I thought I'd ask the Spice Heads :)

Fetch New Data shows two entries for one account

I have on a variety of accounts on my iPhone and my iPad: an iCloud, an Exchange, a IMAP, and a couple of Gmail accounts.
Earlier this week, I noticed that in the "Fetch New Data" setting (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Fetch New Data), there are TWO entries for one of the Gmail accounts.
One entry lists "Mail and Calendars." I use this for this particular Gmail account. I have these selected in the "Accounts" section of Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar.
The other entry lists "Contacts and Calendars." I don't sync Contacts, but I do sync Calendars. Why is it listed twice?
I tried deleting
the offending Gmail account, but it did not delete the duplicate entries.
erasing all settings
all of my accounts, including iCloud, IMAP, and other accounts.
The ghost account is still there, fetching calendars and contacts.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?
I considered erasing settings and content, but that seems pretty extreme for something that might not be that big of an issue.

Exact same problem here!!! Iphone 5s with IOS 7.0.3, using Gmail among other email providers.
So it is definately a bug - the "fetch new data ghost account". I hope it will be solved in a newer release. In the meantime, I switched the ghost account to "manual" so it shouldn't interfere...

Can't get new interactions to work (but previous ones work just fine...)

I'm making an interactive wire frame/prototype in which I have build some "text entry fields" by using the simple contact form and making everything in it but some single line form fields invisble.
The first one worked just fine. In preview, I could see the different stages and type in the fields.
But then I copy-pasted the entire contact form - and those form fields are only seen in the normal state, when I preview. All though I got several states - nothing happens when I try to mouse over them, click them or type in them... In fact I have noticed, that after a specific time, when I was working yesterday, all new interactions that I try to embed, doesn't work (incl. photoshop button and object states), but those build before that time, work as usual...
I have tried making interactions in a new site - and there everything works fine.
Have I maybe accidentally changed some site properties? ...is it a bug? ...or?

Does anyone know this problem?
I have had it for three days now, and it keeps expanding to other pages as well... At the moment I'm almost giving up on muse. There is not really any point in spending time on Muse, if I can't make my site interactive anyway...
I would appreciate any quick help

XML forms: Appending new news with previous ones

Hi all
I have created XML form for displaying news. I have created views for creating and viewing the news.
What I need is that whenever the user creates a news , it should append the previous ones rather than generating a new xml form for it so that the reader can access it in one place.
Can anybody help in this?

Hi,
try if the ListView fits your needs. Normally you would generate a detailled view for a single news and an abstract view for the list. But you are free to reuse the detailled view for the lists. That way, complete news items will appear in one big List (look for NewsExplorer) and can be scrolled there.
You should alos check whether using listviews and explorer solves your problem without redundant displays. I prefer the Title/Abstract list and the details-popup.

Prohibiting running a new package while the previous one is still running

I'm looking for a way to prohibit a new package running while the previous one is still working. Is it possible to make a sequence of "to be run" packages, when the next one starts right when the previous one finishes?
Or maybe just prohibit starting a new package while the some package is already running.

If you want to restrict the concurrent execution of data manager packages, you will have to edit your data manager package and add custom code.
For example:
You could put in queue based logic, when the package is first run, it inserts a record into a 'Queue' table, then once it completes the execution of its tasks, it deletes the record from the queue table.
So, if anybody runs the same data manager package, it checks to see if the record exists in the queue table, if it does, it ends the execution of the package.

How can I get new tabs to automatically open when I click on a new site (rather than replace the existing page I am using)?

For some reason when i click on to a new site or link, tabs no longer automatically open so if i forget to manually click on the little plus sign at the end of the tab strip, my new destination replaces where i currently was. This was not the case in the past and I cannot find where to reset this so that a new tab will once again auto create. !
I tried options/tabs: open new windows in a new tab instead, but this did not fix the issue. Can anyone tell me what i need to do get firefox to create auto creat a new tab when i move to a new link rather than replace the one currently in use? Thank you!

You can middle click a link to open that link in a new tab.

I DON'T KNOW THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM, I JUST THOUGHT THAT IF THERE IS A WAY TO OPEN A NEW TAB EACH TIME YOU ENTER A NEW WEBSITE WITHOUT OVERRIDING THE PREVIOUS ONE. YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO REMEMBER TO ENTER THE PLUS SIGN EACH TIME YOU WANT TO OPEN A NEW WEBSITE.

The setting in Tools > Options > Tabs: "New pages should be opened in": "a new tab/window" is for links that specify a target window to open the link.
That option allows to divert such links to a new tab instead of a new window.
For links that do not specify a target use a middle-click or hold down Ctrl and left-click the link or use the right-click context menu to open the link in a new tab or window.<br />
Left-click a JavaScript link to avoid getting a blank tab.

I have just bought an iPod Nano to replace my previous one which died,when I open my iTunes it does not show the new iPod, and refuses to allow me to sync my existing library, the new iPod does not show in my computer only on devices, any suggestions ?

It sounds like your iPod is not recognized in either Explorer, or in iTunes on your PC. That can be frustrating, expecially when its a new device. I recommend you use the following article to help resolve that issue named:
