Help, No Aperture Install disk and in field shooting.

Help, I can not get my AP3.03 window to open and I need to use AP. I am in a Workshop in British Columbia far from Home(in Texas) and my Aperture Installation DVD.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what to get Aperture to run. The Dock shows Ap running but there is no window for aperture. It was working last night but not this morning. The most recent activity is trying to Empty the Aperture Trash.

Before you panic:
1) Aperture is probably still installed. It's not the sort of thing that could be accidentally deleted or over-written without you realizing it.
2) Another possibility is that your disk/filesystem is corrupt. You should run Disk Utility and have it do a "Verify Disk" (you can't do a "Repair Disk" on the disk you used to boot the machine -- you have to boot from an alternate disk or the install DVD to perform one of these) and see if indicates any errors in the filesystem. You should also do a "Repair Permissions". This normally finds a few problems and unless any of those problems have to do with Aperture they are not likely related to your problem.
3) A more likely cause is that there's some corruption in one of the ".plist" files in your home folder. This is relatively easy to test. Create a new user account on the Mac. Try to start Aperture from that new account. If Aperture starts up, it proves the actually Aperture install is fine and the issue is something in your own home folder. USUALLY this would be in your ~/Library/Preferences folder. "com.apple.Aperture.plist" (and there may be two others with Aperture in the name) are good candidates. You can usually just drag them to a different location (no need to delete). Then start Aperture and see if it helped. Note that hiding the ".plist" file resets all your preferences (because they would have been in that .plist file) so you may need to go back through your prefs again.
4) Lastly... if you really did manage to delete or damage your Aperture install, just download the Trial copy. It's the same program as the shrink-wrap version (the shrink-wrap version comes with a demo library of images which isn't included in the trial) but the actual program itself is the same. The license key is NOT contained inside the Aperture application... it's in a different directory and would not be over-written or deleted should you need to re-install.

Other than put disc in you don't give much info about what you've done. With the install disc inserted restart your Mac while holding the C key, that should start it up from the install disc. Should also work fine with a wireless Apple keyboard.

COPY INSTALL DISK AND DL QUESTIONS

OK, I want to make a backup of the Leopard install disk and I understand it's a dual layer DVD. I'm assuming Disk Utility can burn a bootable DL disk? Is there anything special that needs to be done because it's DL and needs to be bootable?
Also, I'll probably have to buy a package of 3 so what do I do with the other 2? Can I burn data backups on them with no problem and be able to red them like a standard DVD?
I'm assuming yes on all that but thought I'd check before spending the money.
Is there a way to put the install disk on an external drive then boot up from the external and install Leopard from there?

Went out to get some dual layer DVD's and all Staples had was a 25 pack for $53, WAY more than I wanted to spend and I sure don't need 25 of them. So I went back to do an internet search for cheaper DVD's and found an interesting article on cloning the Install DVD to an external firewire drive.
I have an external USB2 drive but my iMac is supposed to be able to boot on that. I used Disk Utilities to add a partition without erasing the one that was there (I love that!). I then used restore in Disk Utilities and selected the disk image I had created and cloned it to the small partition on the USB2 drive.
I then used System Preferences Startup Disk to select it and restarted. Didn't do an install because I didn't need one but did Repair Permission and Disk Repair. All went perfectly, but MUCH faster than booting from the DVD. This can be really handy.

Can't boot from install disk, and says no airport card installed, HELP!

I bought a new Macbook Pro a few months ago, which recently had to go in for repair to have the screen changed. It came back with the new screen fitted but they had done a terrible job at aligning the lid, so it went back again. Came back and all looked good, until i booted up and realized that where my wifi icon is at the top of the screen, it wasn't connected. When clicking it to bring down the drop down menu of available wifi spots, all it said was "No Airport Card Installed"....Thinking a repair of disk permissions might be worth trying, I tried to boot from my OSX install disk holding down C, however when holding down C all it does is go on a constant loop of restarting, not even reaching the Apple logo. If I don't hold down C then it simply boots to the desktop, so i'm unable to access disk utility correctly to run a repair.
Being pretty fedup with the whole situation, the laptop has now gone back for a 3rd time, as it never had these two issues before. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what might have caused this? And how a status of no airport card installed and a drive that wont boot a disk normally can be related?
I'll be getting it back on Tuesday, but i just wanted to know what the heck they might have done to have screwed things up.

Hi Phil,
I can't say for sure, but it sounds to me like they didn't reconnect the WiFi hardware when replacing the screen. To my knowledge, the Airport "hardware" (including the antenna) is located inside the screen hinge. When the screen was replaced (and the hinge not properly aligned) perhaps someone improperly connected the Airport hardware, or forgot to connect it entirely.
The reason the WiFi hardware is located in the hinge is because that is the only plastic area of the entire notebook. Radio signals do not travel well through aluminum, so some area of the computer has to be plastic to allow that signal to get through. The hinge is the only area where that's possible.
As for the reason why the machine wouldn't boot up from the disc, I have no idea. Here's hoping it does when it comes back. If I were you, I'd have a chat with Apple Customer Relations about the situation.

If the disk hardware is working properly but the directory on it is very badly scrambled, it might take as much as an hour, though less than half that amount of time is more common. But if the disk hardware is failing, Disk Utility won't be able to repair it at all, and it may keep trying for a very long time (hours) before giving up.

The applications install disk won't install iphoto because iphoto 9.5 is already installed..I updated to a SSD and have the original Hard Drive with an updated iphoto which recognized the older CDs(thanks to iphoto expander). I thought that the iphoto that transferred with the new hard drive was the same as what was on the old one. I guess it wasn't. I really need to access my backups. HELP

Later version of iPhoto write to the library on opening, and so cannot open libraries on optical media, as that cannot be written to. Further, optical media is going e way of the floppy disk. Therefore, you need to use a different form of archiving and back up going forward.
To allow iPhoto to open these libraries you need to copy them to your Mac or an attached external disk.
To merge them into an existing Library will require that you use either Aperture (if you have it) or iPhoto Library Manager.

Can't boot from install disk and I need to reinstall OS X 10.4

I am trying to boot from the install disk by restarting the computer and holding down the c button. It won't start up from the disk. Help - 9.0 install failing and eating my hard drive / Premier missing

I have windows 7 / 64 bit / home premium - 3/0 Ghz / Quad core
I posted earlier. I have tried several times to load 9.0. during my first unsuccessful install, the "creating catalog process" hung, and after I closed the program, my hard disk space decreased by 45 GB.
I then uninstalled, shut down, cleared all temp files, defragged, optimized disk, and cleaned up registry. I then re-instelled and it hung on "Creating catalog" again. I figured I would let it go and see what happened. I returned 40 minutes later and it was nowhere. I cllicked and it said "not reposnding".
Now - I check my hard drive , and it has decreased from an available 120 GB (before 1st install ) to now only 31.7 GB! I can not find where my hard drive is being conusmed.
As a second step, I tried to load disk 1 and disk 2 on another computer. Elements installed ok, but on loading Disk 2, it gave me the same error as Pc #1 - It said Program is corrupt or not installed. Also note that Disk 1 does not install Premier elements on either computer - no where to be found. Isn't Disk 2 suppose to only be content.?
I need help badly.

Files: Pre9.log, PRE9Installer.log.
Yes, you are right that you need to install application(Disk 1) first before installing Content(Disk 2). So, insert Premiere Elements Disk1 and install application first. Once it is successful, then insert disk 2 to install Content.
Please note that Content will not get installed unless application is installed.
It would be great if you can provide screenshot of error messages that you are getting.

Well here's a doozy for ya. I have no idea what I'm doing as you will be able to see when you look at my form.
What I want to happen is to have the user fill out the form, choose the operations manager and select submit button associated with the drop down box. All other dropdown boxes and submit buttons should be hidden. I need the form to lock so there are no edits except the signature field, the next dropdown box and submit button. I'd like to customize the email with a specific subject line and specify the email address based on the person selected from the drop down box. I'd like this to repeat itself until there are no more signature fields left. It is very important that this document follow the order specified.
I tried to use an example Niall put out there to use regular buttons as submit buttons with script. I changed a couple things and it worked to submit the form based on the person selected but I still do not know how to lock the fields. Long story short, I broke what did work and don't know how to do what I really want to do or fix what had once worked. I don't understand javascript so please, if you're willing to help teach me, be patient and spell it out like i'm speaking a foreign language.
Oh boy, even I don't want to do this. What a mess!

New PC lost origional install disk and unable to install using download

I got a new PC and have lost my install disk forr my Tunston T2. I tried to install using the download of version 4.1.4 from the website but no luck. When I try to open the program I get an error message "Palm Desktop Application has encurred a problem and needs to close".
I tried it without the device connected and with it connected and get the same error.
My PC has an Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 266GHZ with a 500G drive. I am running Windows XP Pro.
Does anyone have a clue how I can get it up and running?

Sounds like your data crashing out palm desktop.
It's either your calendar or contacts causing the issue.
Steps to fix
1. Navigate to C:/program files/palm/Hotsync ID
2. In that folder locate another folder called datebook
3. Remove datebook.dat file from there and place on desktop
4. Go to folder called Address
5. Remove address.dat file from there and place on desktop
6. Attempt to open palm desktop
IF it opens continue
7. Go to tools/options and change the start up application from datebook to memos
8. Navigate to C:/program files/palm/Hotsync ID
9. In that folder locate another folder called datebook
10. Grab the datebook.dat file off of the desktop and place in the folder
11. Choose to overwrite the file
12. Go to folder called Address
13. Grab the address.dat file off of the desktop and place in the folder
14. Choose to overwrite the file
15. Relaunch palm desktop
16. Go to tools/options/tools
17. Select fix corrupted records.
18. Close palm desktop re open
Everything should work fine. If you want you can then change the start up application back to datebook.

Had a HD failure on Desktop. Went to reinstall on new HD. Install disk unusable. Have ProX running on Laptop (have access to S/N). How can I reinstall ProX onto new HD in Desktop?

you can download the mac os x recovery hd and run the setup to a flash drive using another mac computer running os x 10.7,(so that while installation the os x setup can varify your computer's serial no. and provide you the installation setup through internet)
or the time machine backup(if you have)
Now boot through the flash drive and follow the steps to install mac os x
