Help Nokia N8 prob. !

need help nokia N8
my new nokia N8 was working brilliantly until software update !
now i cannot customise screensaver. i was able to use my own screensaver [gif]
file but now the option does not appear, the only options i see are none, music player, slide show or big clock, these options do not allow customisation and eat up my battery life
before update i had option for animation and was able to personalise ie file,time out etc. now nothing!
the software vers. i am using is ver.013.016
please help me get my animation back

Animated screensaver has been withdrawn from PR1.1 perhaps due to power consumption issues.

Need help - nokia 6600 fold

Hi, have had nokia 6600 fold for couple of years - love it ! no probs, but have just found a strange symbol on screen which ive never seen before ? Its a yellow message envelope which spins and then becomes what loooks like a paper clip ? Cannot figure out what it is..messages 'in' shows nothing ?
Any ideas ? Thanks.

go to messages then options and settings go to multimedia look at what multimedia retrieval is set at set automatic if not done so already

i,ve nokia 5233 update in my mobile device with GPRS internet software version v21.1.004(7mb file)and it got half display after updaTE…
any soloution for that.. i update with latest version….

There have been reported some issues with the 5800 similar to yours, and it seems that the devices affected were devices where the enduser had changed the screen to an non-official one, and after the update the screen was not working like it should.
If you have done a non-official warranty voiding screen change to your device (yourself that would mean), youre for your self.
If that isn't the case, I'm sure it isn't, you will have to seek help at a Nokia care point if you've already done what you've written. The hard reset should wipe your phone memory and set your phone back to "basics". - No need of doing the factory reset move after doing a hard reset as it does less than the hard reset and nothing that the hard reset hasn't done.
Now it seems like you've updated through ota first and then tried to reinstall the fw again. then done a hard reset? - You will need to take it to a Nokia care point as there nothing more we can do for you.
There could be a hardware issue which has just occured at the same time doing the update.
Clicking the "contact us" tab at the top right of this page will lead you to the nearest care point!

i have a problem with my xpressmusic 5610, i hope this is the right section to share n solve my prob….the prob is begins like dis….when time i using my videocam….after a few minutes my xpressmusic getting stuck its say “unable to save video”….so i shut off my xpresmusic…and open it again…then the problem is happen… my screen getting blink2..and white blank..no have view…
after a few second it shut off automatically…..so i can u all tell me what is a problem…
i hope u all cant help n solve my prob here…

I use getClassAsResource or something like that.....
The app. running excellent on every phone, only on Nokia doesn't works.

I haven't encountered this tuzz. Can you tell me what's the operating system of your computer? My N86 8MP says it's Phone Memory. Even if I have builtin 8GB, but it's labeled as mass memory aside from my micro SD card.
What I can suggest is don't select PC suite instead choose the mass memory option when you connecting your phone to your computer using the Nokia PC Suite. Let me know if you encounter the same problem for the C: drive.

URGENT HELP (NOKIA N8)

My problem is extremely simple but Nokia complicated matters
Well folks, I have a Nokia N8 Belle Refresh (111.040.1511) and I have no more right to download music through the Ovi Music Unlimited service, when I bought the device, I enabled service and everything was working correctly, but when I updated the Symbian Anna for Belle, I've lost my license and now I can no longer download unlimited music, I performed all methods trying to validate the situation but every time I try to register the service again (by clicking on Download music unlimited), I see the message "You can not use this device for unlimited downloads. your device has been enabled for unlimited downloads. If you are trying to activate the PIN code for unlimited downloads, you must use the new Nokia Music Unlimited that came with it."
I've tried to solve the problem by creating other Nokia account and using the account once enabled
I need a new PIN for downloads, because it is impossible to really need to buy another device just to use the service, I need the help of a collaborator and team of users, how can I resolve this problem?

Help nokia N8 belle update !

Since updating my N8 to the belle so I'm having loads of probs. After my initial update the phone was fine but, now there is a few updates posted in nokia suite i.e. social widget, BBC Iplayer plugin etc.
When I attempt to install these updates the handset switches off to restart and nothing happens ? The handset can only be restarted using the hard reset option which losses all my data on handset
I have had to perform this option at least 3 times now which has become very frustrating, even now if I were to switch the handset off I would need to perform the hard reset to start up again !
I am unable to update the maps app and I cannot restore a backup from my nokia suite because this also requires a restart which the handset simply will not do ! What can I do to fix this ?

I presume you are hard resetting and restoring your backup before installing updates. If this is the case then I think some bad setting in your backup could be causing this.
Try hard reset and then do all the updates before restoring backup and if possible only restore personal data and preferably not settings.

NEED HELP: Nokia N8 deletes my messages

I think it's been ever since the PR update 1.2 my phone will automatically delete all my messages by it's self after a random time. It deletes all my messages from the Inbox, Sent, everywhere, even messages saved to the Sim.
I went into the settings and checked to see how many messages are saved and it says 999. And when it deltes my messages I only have 1 or 2 in the Inbox anyway. I called Nokia and they made me do a factory reset, but I still have the same problem.
My Call History stays on the phone, it's only my Messages which is really wierd and never had a problem like this before.
Has anyone had a problem like this before and can help me. I'm not 100% sure if it's since the PR update 1.2 but I haven't touched any settings on my phone since then and can't think of any other thing that's happened then.
If someone can help me fix this would be great. Nokia said if it does it again I might have to take it to a repair centre, but I really don't want to do this. Please HELP.

i updated my nokia n8 from anna to belle refresh (i know too late) and after restarting the phone and finishing the update the phone keeps freezing and restarting. when i take the sim card out it works, but when i put it back it keeps freezing and restarting. i tried hard reset (3 buttons) and the resetted the phone but it still freezes and restarts often... i took it to nokia care and they said they will not fix it for me because i bought it from outside the country and doesnt have any warranty in here, i told them iam willing to pay but they insisted they will not fix it because i bought it from outside (i live in jordan and i bought this phone from dubai)
any suggestions? please?

Urgent help nokia c7 front camera error belle

i have upgrade to belle then i show that my front camera is not working.
it is showing "unexpected error occurred, please restart the camera. if this doesnot help please restart your phone"
i restarted the phone then also not worked.
i tried soft reset then also not worked .
i tried 3 finger format (volume key,menu key and camera key)
then also my problem not solved . i reinstalled the software then also the same problem . please tell me what to do . and my phone is not under warantee ...

HELP NOKIA N8 WILL/WONT CHARGE....

Not sure if im "in" the right Forum?, i just had to message some how ....
Anyways my problem is with my brand new NOKIA N8, after charging successfully for a few days i went back to charge at the same electrical point and nothing happened???, odd i thought must be a loose connection. After playing around with it i realised that it wasn't charging at all.
So i decided to try another electrical point and Voila! it worked....????,this is were it gets strange ...
I then go back to the last point and then nothing happens AGAIN??, so now my NOKIA N8 has got me going around the house swapping it from point to point just to charge it.
Please Help Somebody?

From a UK perspective mains sockets could be on ring main or spur which could produce voltage drop if extended too far against regulations, but don't know how it applies to Continental or US two pin plugs. From a safety point of view if just one socket elicits this behaviour, then perhaps it should be checked out by suitably qualified person.

Help please...
My Nokia N8 does not notify me when I have a message or a missed call. The only way I know is that the indicator light will flash but it says nothing on my home screeen so I have to go into log or inbox to check what it is notifying me of. Anyone had this problem before?
