[HELP] Nokia X6 (8GB) Doesn't switch on.

Hey guys,
Well, my Nokia X6 - 8GB phone (Internal Memory) doesn't seem to start/switch on. It was working fine till today afternoon. The next time I tried using the phone, it was off. I tried switching it on but didn't work.
My attempts:
1. Removed SIM & tried - Failed.
2. Tried Charging the battery - Nothing happens when I plug the charger.
3. Tried the hard reset. - Fail
No sound, no light, no vibration. Its just off.
Any clue?

leave the battery out for about 20 minutes
put the battery in and try and start the phone.
If the phone is still dead, leave the phone for service at closest Nokia Care point.

It sounds like you have the "Say caller's name" active within profile settings.
This will start the ringtone, pause, then a synthersized voice will pronounce the contacts name, then the ringtone will carry on again.
Depending on the wording you have stored in the contact's details, determines what the little voice says.

Nokia n95 8gb moisture in camera lens - HELP

Hi, I have Nokia n95 8gb and while have been in a shower I have left it in the bathroom and now my lenses are moistured/water from inside of camera/lens. How can I fix/dry this?
PLEASEEE HELP ME.

Many people take the phone into the bathroom whilst taking a bath or shower not realising this actually harms your phone!
Steam has entered the phone and turned to condensation and this is never good for an electrical product.
This will probably cause you many problems sooner or later, but for now remove the battery as having the battery in the phone whilst it is still wet is damaging your phone with current from the battery surging through all those components joint together inside with water.
Then put the phone in a warm dry place, where you have your boiler for your home as an example, and leave it there for a few days.
This should dry out any liquid there is inside the phone but only time will tell of the amount of damage has occured.

I have the brandnew Nokia N95-2 8GB which I want to synchronize with iSync on my brandnew apple MacBook with Leopard and - it doesn't work! iSync does not recognize the phone. Does anybody know something about a new Plugin from Apple or Nokia for iSync?

Help My Ipad doesn't switch on anymore!!!

Hello , I am having a problem with my new Ipad I just bought , 64gb 4g , I have received 2 days ago and all was fine , the battery was like 90 % and I put in link to my pc , updated with Ituenes , recharged up to 100% and then I used it finely so far ... I then left the Ipad in the case with the switch on off feature when closed and I left there for some hours not using .... whell when I go picking up the Ipad again , it says shut down with the slider , since I never yet tried that I slide and switch off ...
The problem is now that the Ipad started to keep flashing the logo every 2 - 3 seconds ... I try to switch up again pressing the main button but nothing happens... I then plug it again in the pc and starts on again ....
I then get again the question to switch it off , so I unplug and switch it off ... again I can't sitch it on anymore ....
So I plug it again and this time I do not switch off I unplug and try to switch off with the button , main one ... but it doesn't switch off ....
Is my pad broken ? what's wrong ?
What should I do ?

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Nokia N85 8GB - changing or adding new language

I bought my Nokia N95 8GB phone from Rogers in Canada where I live. However I have parents in Poland to whom I am sending a lot od text messages. English language doesn't have polish characters so I would like to install polish language on this phone. My parents are quite old and they have a problem sometimes to read my text. Does anyone know how to do it?
My present software is: V11.2.001 (seems quite low/old)
software for Euro3 is : V31.0.015

You cannot change the product code of your phone - at least not using software and methods that can be discussed here (their use will invalidate your warranty).
What you can do is read this (substituting "no longer available" for "not available" ):

Nokia N95 8gb screen acting up

Hi, I have a Nokia N95 8gb North America version. Recently, my phone started acting up. The phone would sometimes freeze when I'm using an app, but I could often just press the menu button and just go back. Also, the screen would sometimes become oddly coloured. However, now the screen is very, very weird. The screen is flipped and reversed, and some parts are cut off. I didn't drop it or anything when all of a sudden this started to happen. Unfortunately, my phone's not under warranty anymore. What can I do? Also, where can I find a care point in Vancouver, British Columbia, or are there any at all? Thanks

You may try upgrading / re-installing the firmware..
1. Download and install the latest version of OVI Suite from
http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
2. Connect the phone to PC using the USB Cable (Suite Mode)
3. Open the OVI Suite
4. First take a Back-up of the phone (Tools-->Back-up).. as you may tend to lose data during the process..
5. Tools -->Software updates .. and follow instructions
Note : During the updates the phone may switch OFF.. do not worry.. It will switch ON on its own.Ignore any warnings you see in Windows Task bar.. Even when you see the update is complete.. do not disconnect the phone till it switches ON again...
Hopefully the problem should get sorted by now.. Restore your data (Tools-->Restore)

Nokia N95 8gb Internet Explorer problem!

Hi all! I have nokia n95 8gb and let one of my friends use it to surf the net. Now when I try to work on the internet explorer, the connection keeps dropping off. I have checked and it's not my router which is the cause of it. Unfortunately my firewall and antivirus protection was not on while I gave my friend my phone to use. I have scanned the phone and nothing is coming up in the antivirus scan. There seems to be this message that comes up every so often when I am working on internet explorer and it's as following:
"/c:/system/dmgr/1008d39/contents/st.."
I am afraid there might be some malicious file that got downloaded onto my phone. Not too sure as to what is happening. If anyone has experienced a similar problem or can help me with this problem then I would really appreciate the help.

So I have been going through my history to find out what pages were opened that day and found out that the file 'st' is automatically downloading only when I open any livejournal page and then it diverts to the '\c:\system\dmgr\...' message. I have downloaded and run the KMS antivirus software but it doesn't pick anything up. All other websites that I visit are fine but when I open livejournal the 'st' file automatically starts downloading and then diverts to the page along with disconnecting from the WLAN.
I have downloaded the y-browser and deleted the respective file from c drive but everytime I try to access livejournal, that file starts up again. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I should try to deal with this? I would really appreciate the help. Cheers!

Nokia N95 8GB Speaker issue???

I just bought Nokia N95 8GB version and I was excited all about it. I have setup most of the softwares and settings that I had on my old N80 and I was going to enjoy the music by playing it on the new N95 8GB. However the sound is coming out from the normal speaker (where you put your ear to chat) and not off from the speakers on the side of the phone. When I'm receiving the call or message the sound is coming out from there but all the softwares are using the small speaker for talking and it's very annoying as I cannot hear anything..
If anyone knows the solution to this issue please let me know how I could solve it. I have tried to upgrade my firmware but it keeps coming up that there isn't any new one as yet.

it could be a hard wear issue or contact with moisture try the following
Reset to factory defaults (*#7780#) : Restores settings
Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.
Hard reset:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.

i just bought a nokia 95 8gb and i tried connecting it to my pc via usb cable dke-2 .. my phone recognizes a connection .. i select pc suite .. but my pc doesn't .. when i connect the phone it plays a sort of a beep .. it does at every usb connection .. can anyone help me out ?

This is a very common problem it seems, from Googling around for different help solutions. In fact, I'm here because of the same issue. WHich is why I find it slightly annoying that no one from Nokia can be bothered to post a definative solution in an FAQ or something, or maybe just post here to point people in the right direction.
Despite all the attention being garnered by Android and Apple, Nokia is STILL the worlds largest manufacturer of mobile phones, and N95 8GB/N96/N97 users are probably still your loyal base of 'power' users. I for one have a smartphone because my contract was due for renewal, but still use the normally trusty N95/8 (now looking a little weatherbeaten!). Now, if you're going to convince us to try the N8 on our next contracts, it would be nice to see a few more updates and responses to ovi problems. Can we still 'downgrade' to PC suite? Perhaps I'll go and have a look.

Nokia N95 8GB Album Art and Album Folders Issue

I have been hunting for for a resolution for two issues with the N95 8GB Media Player all over the web.
1. Adding artwork (CD Covers) to audio tracks (or albums) seems to be at best hit and miss. Most of the time it just does not work.
2. Deleting an album delete all the tracks but deleting the album folder seems almost impossible.
Well this weekend I decided to try to solve this and I think I may have hit upon a solution.
Since so may people have the same problem I thought it worth repeating. I would stress this has not been exhaustively tested but it does work reliably so far.
I am using Nokia Music Manager 2.0. The fix is simply to convert the files to AAC rather than to M4A (which is the default). After this simple change everythig worked find for me. I can add and delete albums from Nokia Music Manager 2.0 (don't forget to refresh on the phone afterwards) AND reliably add Album Artwork.
So here is how I have been working.
1. Set the conversion format to AAC. I have been using 'Ultra high' quality setting. Options Menu >> Setting >> Conversion Tab.
2. Next put in a CD, select all the tracks and choose copy to my collection.
3. While this is going on I find the artwork on the Web. A simple Google Image search with the album title and artists last name / band name seems pretty 100% to get the on the first page. Download image to My Documents / My Pictures.
4. Once the CD Rip is complete they will all appear in My Collection. I select all the tracks in my collection for the album in question, and then right click on one of them and select Edit.
5. I then attach the Album Artwork by clicking on the blue folder and choosing it from my, MY Pictures folder.
6. Finally select Copy to Phone from the File Menu.
This has worked for me so far 100% and I have done 20 or so albums.
NOTES:
To get Nokia Music Manager 2.0 I uninstalled the version of Nokia Phone Suite that came with my phone and went to

I chose the N95 8GB downloaded and installed. At some point shortly after install Phone Suite informed me that there were updates available and Nokia Music Manager 2.0 was one of these.
I was originaly using this and suffered all the problems you guys have. After searching the web and finding no solution I decided to do some experimenting.
Hope all this helps.
PS If you need to delete all your legacy album folders, this is the fix I found on this same site. You can do this at any time.
1. Enable the option to be able to see Hidden Files and Folders in your Windows Explorer.
2. Connect your n95 8gb to your computer and choose data transfer mode.
3. Go to My COmputer >> Nokia Phone Browser >> Nokia N95 8GB >> Memory Card E:
3. If you have selected Show Hidden Files and Folders (see 1) you should see a folder called Private.
4. In the Private folder you need to delete the contednts of three folders
\private\101FFC31 (mpxv1.mpd and pcv5.mpd)
\private\101f8857\Cache
\private\101ffca9
In all the 3 folders delete all the files Not the FOLDER
Next time you restart the music player it will rebuild the indexes without the deleted albums folders.
Hope this helps someone. It restored my sanity.

Album Art
Basically there are two methods
Method 1.
You do it on the phone. Load the album art pictures to the memory card. (Must be JPEG NOT BMP)
Load also the music files.
Open Music application in the phone. Open an album then select Options->Album art then Options-> Add, browse for the picture and select Ok.
Repeat for each ALBUM
Method 2.
You do it on the PC.
Get a Tag editing software like Tag&Rename, WINAMP, etc.
Edit the files Metadata to include Album Art picutres (again they should be jpeg and also they should be set as Cover Front).
Transfer the files that have Album Art using File transfer (usb mass storage) don't use MTP or PC Suite as these methods may convert the files and Album Art will be lost.
Or you can continue using your Method

Nokia x6 8GB Hanging problem.

Today I have a problem with my nokia x6 8GB , I using my x6 normaly as I using every day...but today my x6 is suddenly hanged , after hanged my x6's touch screen is not working , any button is not working...then I remove the battery of my x6 and insert again...after a 1min I turn on my x6 but it still hanged......pls help me..

Maybe this will enlighten.. but i am no guru..
did you disconnect while updating via usb connection or temp loose internet connection? During install keep device connected and make sure internet connection is constant. ALWAYS disregard ALL windows notifications during update/ install. in this case you'll need to send device back to manufact.
otherwise..
turn off. put battrery back in. take out sim card. connect to charger. wait 5 mins. then turn on while still connected to charger. turn off. put in sim. turn on again and wait till welcome note has passed and the phone asks to continue online. then let phone connect to provider and reboot.

Copy contacts between PC and Nokia N95 8GB without...

Hello...
I have Nokia N95 8GB.
I have 300 contacts stored on my PC from previous phone which was Nokia N90. What I want to do is to copy my contacts from my PC to my Nokia. But without PC Suite, without any synchro, just to copy them like in windows explorer, copy folder and paste folder.
Is this possible? I mean, I can do this, but don't know where to place them inside Nokia folder tree - I want them to be visible inside address book...

I am not sure this will resolve your problem but you could try with this.
1. Remove Previous phone plugins from Library/phone plugins (If any files are there)
2. Delete files from User/Library/caches/
3. Remove chaches from System/library/chaches
4. Download and install iSync plugin from Nokia website
Make sure you have installed all available updates from Apple using Software Update and your phone firmware is updated.
Are you getting any specific error messages?

G580 Lenovo doesn't switch on !

I received my G580 Lenovo a year ago. It has work fine but now appear a problem and doesn't switch on.
I try to switch it on, lights come on, it makes noises, the webcam light, power light and battery all come on and stay on, but nothing happens, just a black screen.
At the beggining of time when this problem appeared when i tried several times to turn on, sometimes it turn on and the most of cases it doesn't turn on. Now always doesn't switch on.
Please help me
