Help on 3600 slide - PC Suite

My OS is XP,Pro- Service Pack 1.
I recently bought the 3600 slide and the recommended software as per the Nokia website is PC Suite Version 7.0. However PC Suite Version 7.0 is only compatible with Vista or XP- Service Pack 2. Whenever I try installing Version7.0 I get a fatal error during installation message.Consequently, I'm not able to view pics from my phone onto my comp.
Any help on this front towards resolving this would be appreciated!

To change the USB mode, select Menu > Settings >
Connectivity > USB data cable and the desired USB mode.

Have you done the basic workaround?
Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then
Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc. Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check

Nokia 3600 slide --- how to manually change networ...

I just purchased a Nokia 3600 slide and want to set the phone so I can manually select the network. I have a SIM card through a company called eKit and while I am in France, I need to be able to manually select the network with the best coverage. The phone automatically selects a network with little to no service in this area. I used to own a razor and there was a function where you could set the network manually. Can anyone help me locate this function on the Nokia?

Nokia 3600 slide ringtones too quiet

I had a Nokia 6100 until a week ago when I upgraded to 3600 slide (which is awsome, btw). However, ringtones and alerts on my new phone are irritably quiet. Consequently, I miss calls.
I want the loud rintones from my old 6100 back. How can I get them on the 3600 slide?

Please do these couple of steps - It might improve things slightly:
Select Menu > Settings > Profiles > Personalise — to personalize the profile.
or
Select Menu > Settings > Tones > Ringing volume> then set it to the maximum value. Then just save it.
If that doesn't solve the problem, it might the phone really behaves like that. Some Nokia phone really does have a quiet ringers - like the Nokia 5310 (No offense meant!)

Nokia 3600 Slide Playlists + Firmware Updates

When I update my Nokia 3600 Slide with new firmware, my playlists no longer work, or show up in the media player. The gallery doesn't support viewing them. I don't want to have to rebuild my 70 song playlist again (I have over 500 songs on my phone). Is there a way to get the old playlist working?

probably not, should have done a backup of the playlist to your computer, as firmware updates clear all data on the phone.

i have my nokia 3600 slide software update,after the update my phone restart, and ask to type the date and time. after that, the phone hangs.i reinstall the battery and do that step again.so i run again the software update after it fails the software update,the phone doesn't turn on..plz help me!

With the 3600 if you have already tried removing the battery and leaving it out for a few minutes, there isn't anything else you can try yourself. It is time to send it to the Nokia Care Point.

Nokia 3600 slide does not sound when opened or clo...

I have just brought a nokia 3600 slide .. I have selected the plum theme and selected the slide animation on ..but unfortuantely i do not get any slide sound .. i only get the animation when i open and close the phone ..do i have to use another theme .. can i use any sound for the opening and closing of the slide phone .. where do i get slide sounds from or animations .. plz help its driving me round the wall

as pointed out there is some themes avalable that do give a tone but these are specially built themes a had one myself on the 5610/6500 slide i got them from zedge maybe your phone is not equipped for the theme in question
the slide animation is just a picture that comes up when you open and close the slide

3600 slide overseas sim compatibility

*Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, so please move if need be.
I am heading to Europe for 6 weeks this year and was wondering if:
as well as enabling my prepaid simcard from Optus for global roaming (to check messages), can I buy a different European prepaid simcard (in Denmark, our first stop for example) and use it in my 3600 slide the whole time over in continental Europe, and just discard it before returning to Australia?
This would save me having to buy a new cheap phone and then discard that whole unit, or using my Optus simcard on global roaming charges the whole time between my travel group in Europe.
It all makes sense to me, but I may be overlooking something.

If your phone is SIM-locked to your network, you won't be able to use any SIM from a different network. Contact your operator to make sure you get the phone unlocked before leaving.
In some countries, you have to provide proof that you are resident in that country in order to obtain a phone line, even a PAYG line. It isn't the case here in the UK, for example. You can just walk into a phone shop and walk out with an active PAYG SIM. In France, OTOH, you have to show proof of ID and a utility bill or rent receipt in your name in order to take out a line. Check if this is the case in Denmark before going.

3600 Slide from Hong Kong - Maps not installed

Hello,
I recently purchased a 3600 Slide in Hong Kong and cannot find Maps installed on it. The Nokia Asia website says it should be installed, but the Nokia Hong Kong site seems to show that the phone doesn't come with Maps. This is quite confusing and needless to say I am very disappointed that Maps is not installed on my phone, while it is available on the 3600 Slide in many other countries. Am I missing something, or is it truly not available on the Hong Kong version for some reason?
It's a long shot, but perhaps if others are unhappy with this and reply to this thread, Nokia will take notice and make Maps available for the 3600 Slide in Hong Kong.

Display on a 3600 Slide goes on and off without to...

Having a 3600 slide about 7 months ago, I never had a problem with it.
But lastly the phone has a strange behaviour.
Normally, when open the slide, the display goes on, and after a delay it goes off again, that's normal.
But actually my phone has its own life, because the display (and keybord lights also) is going on (and of after a while) without touching it.
Sometimes this happens less then once in an hour, sometimes more then 15 times an hour, it seems random.
The result is I have to charge the battery once a day.
I tried to do a total factory reset of the phone, but the problem is still here.
Has someone a clue about this issue .

I don't know what exactly could be causing it in your case but I noticed my 5200 has been doing the same thing. Then I decided to pay attention and realised that if I lose network signal and it comes back the light goes on. That probably means if your gprs is always online a suspension will cause the light to come on. Check your phone to see if nothing changes when this happens as it could be legit and not really a problem before you go the whole backing up and updating software route

have you tried using the same sim in other phone?
If both answer is yes & your sim is working in another phone then you need to contact you nearest authorized Nokia Care Center.

Yes it's possible but you cannot download it or install it yourself.
To get Swedish on your phone you need to visit a nokia care point and they can add it for you, for a small fee.
