Help on Absence Type

Hi Gurus
I Need u guys help on undernoted scenario as the same is required by client.
1. There is a absence type Study leave and when ever any one avail this type he/she will get ½ day salary and the quota should also deduct for ½ day only.
2. Another one is absence type Sick leave which any one cant avail on Saturday and Monday. Suppose any one takes leave n if the week end (Saturday and Sunday) comes between leave thn quota shud b update except these two days

Answer for second question:
>In counting rule , condition for the current day do not check saturday and sunday
Answer for the first question ,please check this
>In counting rule , on the counting node you can see quota multiplier give value 50 there as per your requirement , whether it is days or hours
For payment side do configure absence valuation in Payroll
>Payroll-payroll india- absences 1 ) Describe Absence Valuation Rules 2) Group Absences for Absence Valuation ( here you have to assign your absence type to absence valuation rule )
> Payroll-payroll india- absences-valuation of absences , configure your combination as 50% unpaid :Define counting class, then absence valuation,(you can see expert view make an entry 50 on the field percentage ( make sure you not selected the paid selection button) for your combination )

URGENT Help Pls - Absence type to be considered as Attendance in Time Eval

Hello Experts,
There is one specific absence type which has to be reported as absence in IT2001.
This abs type is something an EE works outside of office and need to be tracked as absence. And when the EE has scheduled to go out for work on this absence, there is an absence request form and approval process. Everything is in place.
But, since the EE is performing work on this absence, this absence type needs to be considered as attendance in Time Eval so that number of hrs work in a day gets added up. Plus, we have specific OT rules, it EE works more than 8 hrs and less than 10hrs in a day, he get 1.5 time rate in OT. And if he works more than 10hrs, he gets double OT. But if he works less than or equal to 40 hrs in the same week, he does not get OT.
Due to this complex OT calculation, the above absence type needs to be added or considered as regular working hrs so that the EE get OT accordingly.
Please reply me VERY URGENTLY. Somenone with helpful answer and/or suggession will be awarded points.

Problem in report of cats_da data is not coming for one absence type.

Dear experts,
For one absence type the data is not coming in the report cats_da. When I check the other absence type the report is showing the data. I dont know where is the problem. Customer is entering data throught PA30 transaction. Kindly help me where is the problem in customization.

Display Additional Absence Details based on Absence Type selected

On Oracle Absence Details screen through SSHR,
Can display of Additional Absence Details fields be related to Absence Type field in any way ? Requirement is to display additional flex fields only for one absence type and not for others but in SSHR, additional absence details fields are always shown irrespective of what user selects.

Context sensitive DFFs are currently not supported by OAF and there an ER 6625335 logged by Oracle for the same.
In absence of context sensitive DFF you can use the $FLEX$ option, using this option you can define dependent segments which will get enabled only in case of a specific value for all other values the fields will be read-only.
Also, in order to read the absence data while leave application you will have to read the absence_type data from the HTML code stored in the HR_API_TRANSACTIONS table dumped into a column CLOB named TRANSACTION_DOCUMENT. Adhoc Query Absence Type.

Hi All,
I am trying to add a column in adhohc query.
Regarding "Leave type" and I am trying to pick this from info type 2001 field name AWART but in the output it is not displaying and the report is blank for the Absence Type column though data is maintained in info type 2001 AWART filed.
Am i doing it in right way?

Even i don't see Paryoll hours and days is there any particular reason for this. Please find the screen shot blow.
This is a existing report(Query: PT_ABSENCES) in the system, I guess its a default report available in the system and even i tried with a new custom query using info type 2001 with same filed AWART to pick the data but it is reflecting in the output.

Change description of Absence Type...

I have to change the desc of an absence type ,I have changed it in table T554S table .Th eabsence desc is changed correctly and is visible when i check in IT 2001 of an employee but it is showing incorrectly in PTMW .Do i have to change the desc in PTMW seperately ? How can i get the Absence desc changed in PTMW ?

Hi Shivakumar,
V_T554S is the only place where you need to change absence description. Then updated absences will be reflected in IT2001.
If you have corrected in the above table, then just log off and then log on and check.

Absence type not visible in ESS

Employee when trying to apply leave thru ESS, the employee is not able to view absence types in the drop down selection. Backend version is 4.7 and portal is 6.0 version
We have checked with the portal team on the same issue.The portal team has conveyed that it is not a portal issue.
Please suggest the appropriate solution to the above mentioned problem.

Hello,
As you are using ECC 4.7 , u ll not able to view mentioned table V_T554S_WEB.
You can check through SPRO settings PM-ESS-Service specific settings-Record working time-Select allowed Absence Types.
From this node , u will able to check allwed absences on ESS.

Only records of less than one day allowed for attendance/absence type COMP

I configured all the process in IMG for compensatory off
ie ,Absence types,Attendance Types ,counting rules and assignment
but when I tried to create attendances on a particular public holiday in PA 30 then the system shows 'Only records of less than one day allowed for attendance/absence type COMP' (Compensatory Off)
Anyone pls help me to solve this problem

What should be the Time constraint classes and screen number for absence type.
The different absence types are annual leave, sick leave , study leave , personal leave, maternity leave , juryduty leave nad leave without pay etc

The time constaint class depends on the client requirement.
eg.if they want that a error needs to be generated while overlapping absences or warning message is required.
Time contraints comprise the following:
Time constraint classes that determine which collisions in time data records are allowed
Time constraint table that contains the time-based collisions allowed in the time data records
Time constraint indicator that displays whether a new data record that collides with an existing time data record can be transferred to the system or whether the transfer is prohibited
For screen number you will have to see if the is quota based deduction or just an absence. Here is the documentation of screen number from SAP
In the standard system, the following numbers are allocated to the screens:
1. 2000 - General absence
This screen is used for all absences which do not require special processing (such as paid leave of absence for getting married).
2. 2001 - Quota deduction
This screen is used for entering data on leave or time in lieu of overtime.
3. 2002 - Work incapacity
Use this screen for all absence types where continued pay should be taken into account automatically by the system.
4. Special screens have been developed for the following absence types:
2003 - maternity protection, parental leave
2004 - military and non-military service
2005 - work incapacity (Netherlands)
Please go through the documentation of the configuration.

CAT2 - Default different absence types for different sets of cmployees

Hi all,
I have ben trying to do this for quite a while
I am trying to default different sets of absence types for different sets of employees ( diff employee groups)
I would ideally not want to create different cats profiles for these employees.
Has any one done this before.
I have chedked the user exits cats0002, the badi cats_derivatives and the customization but could not find a way to do this. Any ideas on how to do this w/o defning new cats profiles for each type of employee?

Enhancing 0315 wouldn't help.. starightaway.. you would still need to add code to default the A/A type.. & CATS0002 kicks in after User input.. looks like you will need to modify Std code..

Deactivate absence type in CATS screen

Hi,
I have to hide one absence type in CATS ESS portal screen.
I have configured the absence type in this path,
Cross-Application Components -> Time Sheet ->Specfic Settings for CATS regular -> Select Allowed Absence Types.
But i am still able to see the absence type in CAT2 screen. Does this really work in ESS portal screen.
We don't have any testing portal to check this.
Kindly suggest me on this.

could be a cache issue, have your portal admin clear the portal cache and check again it should work. If you are on ehp5, the cache is on the backend app server... a basis guy should be able to help you in that regard.

Need Help with data type conversion

I am new to java, i need some help with data type conversion:
I have variable(string) storing IP Address
IPAddr="10.10.103.10"
I have to call a library function which passes IP Address and does something and returns me a value.
The problem I have is that external function call in this library excepts IP Address in form of a byte array.
Here is the syntax for the function I am calling through my program
int createDevice (byte[] ipAddress).
now my problem is I don't know how to convert the string IPAddr variable into a byte[] ipAddress to pass it through method.

Class InetAddress has a method
byte[] getAddress() You can create an instance using the static method getByName() providing the IP address string as argument.

HOW TO Restrict Absence Type LOV Self Service in 12.1.3

3.26.4.6. Restrict Absence Type LOV
Prior to this release, all absence types created using Oracle HRMS are displayed to users in Self-Service HR. With this release, implementers can update ""a package"" to restrict the absence types that are displayed to users based on the business requirements. This feature ensures that employees enter only those absences for which they are eligible, and managers do not have to verify the validity of the absence type of employee requests.

Apologies for the delay here.
The package in question is hr_absence_restricted. You replace the Package Body of this package so that the function absences_restricted returns a comma-separated array of Absence Type ids that SHOULD NOT be displayed.
For example,
RETURN '123, 456, 789'
Would prevent Absence Type Ids 123, 456 and 789 from appearing in the user's List of Values. This is supposed to be described in the following Oracle Article but it's not published:

HCM Absence types- need to display in different languages in the same country based on user language preference

We are implementing in Belgium where we need to have absence in both dutch and French for the different user sets. Is there anyway to set up one absence type but have the different translations for the different user groups. There was a document ID 1619320.1 that referred to the fact that if the absences were created by a seedfile then they would be translated. Has anyone come across this issue whereyou need to display the same absence type for more than one language in the same country and how did you do this or did you have to set up separate absence types in the different languages which I do not want to do

If you are using Captivate 4 multi languages is a
posibility..
Set a User Variable to pass the language you want to a Flash
SWF whic is embeded (This can play and hold multiple audio tracks).
For example Captivate 4 will pass "french" to the embeded flash SWF
which will play the "french" track.
OR
you could just use branching ;)

I am using the Standard workfllow for leave application, and when i am creating the request i am getting the bleow error:
'Absence type 100 was not found in Customizing for 21.10.2010'
What could be the reason, i have configured the statndard setting for leave type 100 in SPRO.

Please check the validity period for Absence type 100 configuration.
Also pass this Error message to your HR Functional consultant. It is the configuration issue and your FM have to take care of this issue.
