Help on adding audio tracks and encoding for Encore Please.

Hello,
Can someone tell me how work and add two different audio tracks to Adobe Encore 2? Example, I would like build a DVD that offers the option to listen the audio in two different languages, and also, wich is the proper way to encode video for DVD in the highest quality possible, eg: Bitarate, 2 pass var rate and so on. I have heard that CANOPUS PROCODER is an awesome software to encode video for DVD.
Thanks a lot in advance.

>my copy of Encore does not have the tutorial to "how to create a menu to select a second audio track (Different language)"
Now I see what you were asking, and I apologise. From your post it looked like you needed to know how to add a second audio stream, not how to create the navigation & menus!!
When setting the links, use "Select Other" option instead of what is in the drop-down list, and this will allow you to specify the Audio stream you want.
Audio 1 should be one of the mandatory streams (Dolby Digital or LPCM)
Audio 2 can be anything you like.
It is a good idea to follow the same convention too - if stream 1 is Dolby Stereo in one timeline, ideally it needs to be set the same in all timelines.

  • Is there a fix for CS6 Photoshop crash when adding audio track?

I tried posting this problem yesterday, but have gotten no response:
I'm video editing using Photoshop CS6 (NOT Premiere! NOT CC) and I'm consistently experiencing an application crash (i.e. quit) within a second of selecting/loading an audio track to my edited video. My video is about 3min long in 1080p and I'm running OSX Yosemity on a 13" MacPro Retina w/16GB internal memory. Is there a fix (or even a known cause) for this problem?
Since my original post I've tried using a smaller video format (i.e. 720p) and shorter length(i.e. 40 sec), but to no avail. Photoshop CS6 still quit immediately after loading an audio track and fail to save.
    Other info I can add: Yosemite 10.10.2, Photoshop CS6 13.0 x64

    Use a proper video application.

  • Need help replacing original audio track with song.

    Hi experts
I'm in the process of trying to create a movie for my daughters. What I did was film my daughters signing to a song that was playing on a CD player. I'd like to remove the audio track and replace it with the same song I purchased on Itunes. So far I able to import the video and song and put them on the timeline.
Now I can't never get the song I added to the timeline to play. How can this be done? And, please, point me to a good book
    Thanks,
    Francis Ouellet

Yes, I import both the movie and the song into the browser. Then I drag and drop the video into the timeline (V1) the corresponding audio track is moved automatically to A1 and A2. This plays well. Now I drag and drop my purchased song to the timeline (A3 and A4). If I hit the play button it only plays my video and sound (With a beep every second or so).
It just seems that the video and music tracks aren't linked together. Sorry, just purchased FCE this weekednd

  • Is it possible to separate audio tracks and/or timecode on clips in browser

I transcoded my AF100 clips with log and transfer and came out with all my audio in stereo tracks. There are two separate tracks corresponding to the two mics but they are linked. I know I can separate them one by one on my timeline, but I'm wondering if there's away to select all the clips and do the same thing in my browser, since I have to do the same thing to ALL my hundreds of clips.
Similarly, I made audio tracks without timecode for my transcribers. Now I have to go in and set an auxiliary timecode starting at 00 for all my clips. I'm wondering if there's a way to do that for all the clips at once. I wish I had set the camera to start the timecode at 00 for each clip, but I didn't think of that in time.
Thanks in advance for any help. This forum saves my life!

I don't know much about your business except what you've said but my first impression is that you are way over-thinking and over-producing; your situation is unnecessarily complicated.
I am finishing to DVD. I tried before production to figure out the best way to get these clips to my transcribers ASAP- the start to finish on this project is very short, and it was taking too long to compress clips stamped with TC and the Pro Res clips I am making via Log and Trasfer are huge and don't play well on every computer (all of my trasncribers are on PCs) Also, they are all in a country other than the one I was producing in, so getting them Pro-Res clips would have meant mailing lots of drives internationally. The easiest way to get the transcribers the clips turned out to be using Drop Box to send them audio clips. If you still think I'm over producing, do tell- I'm def not one who enjoys over-anything and if there is a more minimalist approach I'd love to know!
You can, of course, create actions or macros, if you understand the programming, to run batch processing but only if all of the files can be processed in the same way.
So, is there any way to set auxiliary timecodes OR to separate audio tracks on every single clip in my browser?
And is there a way to get Log and Transfer to create clips that don't have the audio in stereo?
    Thanks

  • How can I position my added audio track?

    Hi all,
I need to have a delayed start for my added audio track.
The music should only start 30 seconds after the movie starts.
I tried to position it manually to a second movie sequence but it doesn't seem to work... it will only place itself at the beginning.
    If anybody has clue?
    Thanks in advance.

Apple have made background music rather simple in iMovie.
You are allowed only one track, and it just starts at the top.
I have found the only way to do this is to create multiple projects that later are assembled together as a whole.
Not the nicest solution, but it works.
    Duplicate the project,
then delete the 30 seconds you want music free, and add the music track,
save this new video out to the camera roll.
Open the origonal project, delete the bit you just added music to, and insert the other video you just made.
This way you can have multiple music tracks too .
I tend to edit the whole video, and then break it into parts to add music and adjust the edits.
Then assemble all the parts again for a final output.
This is reasonably quick for small home movies.
    I realise that everytime you save to camera roll you lose quality of video;
but it is minimal and I also tend to archive out the iMovie Projects just in case I want to edit again later.
I tend to use 'Splice' or 'Voddio' if I want to edit more complex stuff and retain quality.

  • No Audio Track is enabled for recording message

I'm a beginner in Mac and would appreciate some help in sorting out a problem with Garageband podcasting on iLife '06.
When I choose female voice and press the red RECORD button, I get this message: "No Audio Track is enabled for recording". I have done some tests in the past which were ok. Have I accidently changed the settings? I checked input and output devices (usb external mic and speaker headset is recognised and that voice and not instrument selection is made.
Can anyone help me please. Thank you.

To enable a track choose the track and click on the
small button icon on the right just under the track
name. The button will be red when enabled.
I'm looking for such a button and don't see one. AFAICT the track name is "Male Basic." Near the track name I see three buttons: mute/unmute, solo, and show/hide volume curve. But that's it. To the right of that are the mixer controls, and no other obvious buttons that I can see. What does or should the button look like? And are we both referring to the same version of GB? I'm wondering if a later version of GB has the button, but version 1 doesn't?
BTW I have looked through the docs (the At-A-Glance and the 3 tutorial PDFs) that came with the installation, and using Preview's Search function, can find no instance of the string "enabl" in any of the documents. Nor is it anywhere in Help.
    Thanks again...

  • Is there a way to get an iPod touch to play one audio track and stop.

Is there a way to get an iPad to play one audio track and stop.
I work in education and particularly music. Teachers are looking to create a playlist of selected track but only want the selected track to play then stop.
This allows them to talk to the class during presentation and not worry about having to stop playback mid discussion.
I've been successful doing this from appleTVs homeshared to a library by unchecking songs in the playlist. But It would be useful to instructors who have there own media on their device.

Thanks for a cognative answer TXMark.
For what its worth to any readers that work in education and would like this play once and stop 'feature'
I had great success in homeshareing a iTunes library of teaching material and creating topic specific playlist and used apple remote app to control an appletv connected to that homeshared library. As TXMark suggests, uncheck the songs in iTunes and the media will not automatically play the tracks in sequence.
note: if you have video media that you would like to have in the playlist, be sure its listed as a music video in the options of get info of track. otherwise the apple tv will not see the media in the playlist and will put it in the movies section of the library.

The only way to stop after a song is to create a playlist consisting of only that song.

  • Help with adding audio files to page

I am using DW CS5.  I have had numerous troubles adding audio files to any page.  Please know that I am not at all computer savy when it comes to html codes etc.  But I have been working with DW CS5 and have a functional website and my pages validate.  That being said, please be patient with me if I am asking stupid questions or don't understand the solution.
Now to the problem....I originally wanted to add mp3 files...but I am not sure how to work with plugins or which plugin to use.
Therefore, I converted my mp3 files to swf and used the insert media file feature in DW CS5.  But when I look at the finished page...I only see a big white box.  Nothing happens when you click on it.
First question...which is the best method to add audio files?
Second question...what steps do I need to follow achieve the desired result?
Note:  there is one validation error on this page and I'm not sure why or how to fix it.  Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.

Woohoo! I was able to resolve the issue including the validation issue.  But I have a follow up question...
Currently if you click on the play button another window pops up which has the play/control/stop buttons to control the audio file.  The attribute is set to new window.  If I change the attribute to parent window, then the page that has the control buttons overlays ontop of the page with the link.
To get back to the original page, one must click on the back arrow near the address bar.
Isn't there a way to not have a separate window appear?  In other words, the controls are embeded into the parent page?

  • How to import 2 separate audio tracks and keep them separate?

I need advice about importing two separate simultaneous audio tracks and keeping them separate. I am importing footage from my Sony PDX-10 DV Cam.
In the field I had wireless microphones on two people, a man and woman. I interviewed them separately. The man was on channel 1 and the woman was on channel 2.
While shooting the man, for example, I could also hear the open mic of the woman who was maybe a block away talking to some friends. But her distracting sound was on CH 2 and in playback on the camera, if I dial down the volume of CH 2, I no longer hear the woman and I have a clean audio track, Ch 1, of the man who is being filmed.
I'm trying to import the interviews into iMovies with only the relevant track turned up and the distracting track turned down. When I listen to the audio from the camera on my headsets, I can get clean sound of just the person who is on camera. But the FIREWIRE seems to grab both tracks, even though in playback i'm listening only to the clean track.
Does anyone know how I can send just one audio track to IMovie? Any way to prevent the Firewire from importing both Ch 1 and Ch 2 at the same time?
I only want the sound that's relevant to the person who is on camera. And I know that in the camera, it's possible to listen to just the track from one channel. I'm hearing just one track through the headsets, because I can sucessfully dial down the other track. That's the way I want to import the footage to iMovie. But the FIrewire seems to grab all the sound it can find and carry over both CH 1 and CH 2, which means I'm left with a jumble of sound that is not useful.
And finally, if the firewire needs to grab both tracks, is there a way to assign them to two separate tracks in iMovie, so I can then simply turn one of the tracks off?

welcome finecut to the  boards of discssions ...
    nope.
iM handles the two stereo-channels as "one track", and offers 3 tracks of stereo.. (the one inside the video, 2 additional tracks...)
    I would... :
    * export clip(s) share/Quicktime/Expert Settings/aiff..
    * in a designated audio processor (Garageband, Audacity, ...) seperate the two channels, creating two "new" ones, stereo, where one channel is located in the stereo middle..
    * import these two "stereo" files into iM, into Track2 and Track 3 ...
    .. boom!done

  • Gettin audio track and instrument in time.

i have logic pro 7.2 but when i import an audio track and then try to create an audio instrument in the matrix edit i cannot seem to get the audio instrument in time with the audio track and they both hav the same bpm. so cannot anyone help me plz im sure its a simple thing 2 do

Presuming the tempos are a spot on match, then It's all about locking the first downbeat of the audio to the track, in this example ( a drum loop ) the orange anchor point is locked to the first kick drum of the audio in the sample editor, so no matter where I drop the audio, it'll always be in time.
If the start point is not as clearly defined, the just move the anchor around till it sounds right.

  • Can iTunes be set to stop at the end of a track and wait for a manual play.

I am wanting to use itunes to play sound effects in a live drama but I need to have it stop at the end of each track and wait for a manual start. It needs to be done without deselecting and selecting tracks by myself and, importantly, others who may be confused by the computer.
If iTunes can't do this is there any other app that can, I've been looking but failed to find any apart from DJ packages which are more complicated than I would like for others to use.
    Dave

You want to have a bunch of tracks, play them in order, the first one plays then it stops and all you have to do is hit Play to continue to next track?
    This script will do it.
Play the first track and iTunes will stop at the end and queue up the next song. Just press Play (or Spacebar) and it'll  play the second song and stop till the end of the playlist.
No need to select any songs or do anything fancy.
    -> Stop Track!
"This script applet runs in the background while an iTunes playlist is playing. Whenever the accompanying "STOP_TRACK_05sec.mp3" track is encountered, the script will stop iTunes and advance to the next track, which you can start manually."

I haven't had any luck at all getting it resolved using iTunes support so I'm hoping someone who's encountered the problem can help me.

What did itunes suport tell you?
They will need to solve this.

  • Audio Track Not Changing CS3 Encore Preview

I have done this before (it has been a few months) and I hope I am missing something obvious.  I have 1 timeline with 19 avi's from PPCS3 with their related audio on Audio 1 track.  I have added music on Audio 2.  Everything plays fine in the monitor when I select either Audio 1 or 2 with the little speaker on the left side of the timeline.  My main menu has a button to select a submenu that has two buttons - one for game sounds (soccer games) and one for music.  I have used specify link and choose the appropriate audio track and link back to the main menu.  Just for fun (after I could not get the music to play in preview) I added a subtitle track 1 that contains the artist and song title (my first attempt at subtitles) and this works fine when music is selected (and not when you select game sound since I set subtitle track to 0), but in preview it is stuck on Audio 1 and even when I change manually in preview to Audio 2 - Audio 1 keeps playing.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Bob

Took a hint from another post that preview does not always work.  This is the first time I have had this problem, but I usually come to Encore by way of export from PPCS3.  I built to folder and it played like I wanted with software.  Now I will finish the project and feel confident that it will work.
Just in case anyone is reading this, I had another error that it took me a few minutes to figure out in this project.  The default location for chapters was too close to the beginning of a chapter and that chapter would not play even though the build check said there were no errors.  I hope some of these problems are not in CS5.

  • Are there any magazines with articles and tips for Encore - English language

Are there any magazines with articles and tips for Encore - English language

The very best "chronicle" on Encore that I can come up with is Jeff Bellune's Focal Easy Guide to Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0, Focal Press. It was written for EncoreDVD 2.0, but everything in it applies to CS4. Now, as of CS4, Adobe Dynamic Link to PrPro has been greatly improved and strengthened, and that part will have to come from the Help files. The book is still the best resource for 99% of Encore, and I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. It is an invaluable reference, whether you have EnDVD 2.0, CS3 or CS4.
As for magazine articles, Encore is mentioned in some, but I do not recall any specific to the program. Same for books on DVD/BD authoring. I have several, that use Encore for some examples, and other authoring programs for others.
The closest thing that we have to the PrPRo-Wiki, mentioned in your thread in the PrPro forum, is the wonderful set of Encore FAQ's on this forum. Jeff Bellune and Neil Wilkes have done a great job of rebuilding those, and most were lost, when the forum underwent a major changeover about 1.5 years ago.
Next, just reading this forum will help one learn how to do much in Encore, and also how to solve any problems.
One other asset that needs to be pointed out is the link in this ARTICLE to Jim Taylor's DVD FAQ. His book, DVD Demystified, by McGraw Hill, will tell you everything that you would ever want to know about DVD/BD, and his FAQ site will cover most of the important info.
Great reading in each of those. That is not an all-inclusive list, but all that I can think of for now.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
