Help on archiving object - table AUFK

hi,
for table AUFK i would like to perform a test archiving scenario. currently i'm at the identifying the archiving object stage.
From TAANA i was able to see the data distribution across the order categories and its entries as below
Order category    entries
1                           1.844.505
20                           88.642
30                         80.473
10                       14.558
3                          1
DB15 has following archiving objects
CO_ORDER
PM_ORDER
PP_ORDER
PR_ORDER
PS_PROJECT
Can you please help me out find out the right archiving object in these, I'm at SE16 but not getting a clue to find out how the order category is linked to this object.

Hi Rajesh,
Not all tables can be archived. For some tables there may be option available for plainly deleting the contents without archiving. Please check the Data Management Guide available at the service marketplace for further information. You may also refer to SAP note 706478.
Word of caution: Not all tables are meant to be archived / deleted. Some tables maybe required for proper functioning of the SAP system (however big the table is). So please proceed with caution if you are trying to develop a custom program to delete contents from a standard SAP table, you may end up deleting some data which was required. Even when deleting using standard SAP programs, proper due diligence and testing is necessary

Steps..
GO TO SE11
Give the table name
Press change..
In the menu..UTILITIES -> TABLE MAINTENANCE GENERATOR.
GIve the authorization group &NC&
Choose the single step radio button..
Give the screen number 1.
Give the function group..Give the table name itself as the function group.
Press create. button.
Now the screen is generated..go to sm30 and maintain the table entries..

Custom Archiving Object: cluster tables

Hello All,
I need to create a custom archiving object to archive the content of a cluster table. Does anyone know how to do this? Would you provide me with the steps to do so?

Solution
As of R/3 Release 3.0, the ADK is also delivered to customers as a development tool for archiving programs. The ADK (Archive Development Kit) consists of function modules that help you to develop your own archiving solutions, as well as documentation on how to use the function modules.
As of Release 3.0, all existing archiving from SAP applications is moved to the ADK.
If you want to enhance an existing solution, you can do this with the help of the ADK. However, your own solutions may NOT delete or modify data from SAP standard tables.
Archiving classes are developed by SAP exclusively and must not be used alone but only in connection with an archiving object.
Archiving objects and archiving classes (and the objects belonging to the class) are not namespace-capable. A namespace as prefix may lead to errors in this case and must therefore not be used.

How to Archive a Table ( Z table) for which there is no Archiving Object

Hi folks,
We want to archive around 16 tables tables which includes some standard tables and some z tables. We want to archive them. But after cheking in SARA we found that, there is no Archiving Object available for those tables.
So how can we archive these table? Do we need to use some z program to explicitely archive these tables of there is some mechanism in SARA to archive them?

You have to create your own archive object, first take a look at some documentation like [Archive Development Kit|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2a/fa0391493111d182b70000e829fbfe/frameset.htm] and then [Developing Archiving Solutions|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2a/fa042d493111d182b70000e829fbfe/frameset.htm] .. then use SARA on your z_archive_object.

Add more tables to be archived to standard archive object

HI,
Yes . You can Add additional table to the standard object. But you have to update the standard write , delete program to include this table in the archival process. So that it is not advisable to update the standard object.
But you can create a custom object by including all the tables you want and take the custom versions of the write,delete programs and do the required changes in that version.

Archiving object for tables GLPCC and GLPCO

Hi All,
GLPCA table stores the actual line items in PCA and GLPCT table stores the totals records of PCA.
What are the transactions which get affected in regular course by these tables?
GLPCC - EC-PCA: Transaction Attributes
GLPCO - EC-PCA: Object Table for Account Assignment
There is no archiving object for the tables GLPCC and GLPCO when checked in DB15. What is the alternative for archiving the entries in those tables?

Hello Anupama,
The standard archiving objects for PCA are EC_PCA_ITM & EC_PCA_SUM. Most of the data is archived with above two objects. Hence it would be better to use given archiving object. About 80% of data can be archived through standard archiving objects.

We have created a archiving object in transaction AOBJ. However when i enter this object in SARA, we get this error message.
"Entry missing in Customizing table for object Z******* "
I have matched my object with few other archiving objects and things looks similar.
Have you faced this kind of problem..

Hi,
I checked and i can see entry for ZSCS_TRAFO object in AOBJ.
But when i enter ZSCS_TRAFO, i get this error :
Entry missing in Customizing table for object ZSCS_TRAFO
Message no. BA057
Diagnosis
A function cannot be executed due to a missing table entry.
Procedure
Please create an entry for the archive object ZSCS_TRAFO with the AOBJ transaction.
However, a few other Z objects works well.

Customised archiving object for archiving a Y table

Hi Guys,
I am trying to create a customize archiving object for archiving a Y table.
BC_SBOOK is one archiving object which i am using as the template. IT has no archiving calss defined in AOBJ tcode
Could you please let me know if it is necessary to create the archiving class.
Also if i can get any reference document for the same.

How to implement search help instead of match code objects table in program

Hi,
We are now in upgrade process of code remediation ( From 4.6c to EC6.0).
We have created search helps instead of matchcode object table. This match code object table M_VMVLC has been deleted
in EC6.0. And search help VMVLC is available.
In the program, they have used <M_VMVLC > -<fieldname> i.e. <tablename> - <fieldname> in declaring parameters,
in the 'into' clause of select statement, in the 'from' clause of select statement, in the 'write' statement.
I want to know how to replace this matchcode object table with the search help in the program.

Count total number of record of table with deletion from archiving object

Does anyone know is there any SAP standard program to count the total number of record of the table with deletion from Archiving Object and display in repprt?

Not sure of the question. Are you looking to get the sql "select count(*) from table" from using the TopLink expression framework or are you getting that SQL already and want something else?
If you are looking just to get the count from a table/class, you can use a ReportQuery:
ReportQuery rquery = new ReportQuery(ClassToQueryOn.class);
rquery.addCount(); //equivalent to count(*);
session.executeQuery(rquery);
You can use a report query to return data instead of objects, and use selection criteria just like a normal read query.

Archive Object GLFUNCA, GLFUNCP and other Custom table ZGLFUNCA, etc

I am encountering one issue that is how to define the write and delete program. I have three standard tables which have standard archive object and meanwhile I have another three custom own table which have the relationship with these standard table. Now I'm wondering should I defiine the dependency of these two archive objects and check only when the first object is done, the second one can proceed.
I'm really looking forward your advice, so far I plan to create one 'z' archive object which include three custom tables and put the standard archive object as dependency object. But how to proceed with the write and delete program?
Please kindly give your advise and solutions. Thank you.

Hi,
you can ask your ABAP consultant to code in the table maintenance events. We need to call appropriate authorization objects in the events and allow/disallow the changes for a field/record based on the authorization.
If you want more details on TMG events, just search in SCN. We have lot of information on this.

Help ! Cannot retrieve Object table data from Oracle 8i

Dear All,
Created the object and object table in SQL*Plus. If query from SQL*Plus, return rows selected.
But if query from SQL*Plus worksheet and ODBC Test program, return "0 rows selected".
Similary, if created the object and object table in SQL*Plus worksheet and query from SQL*Plus worksheet, return rows selected.
But if query from SQL*Plus or ODBC Test program, return "0 rows selected".
Appreciate advice from anyone. Thanks in advance.

First, I suspect that this question probably belongs on the ODBC forum, since it doesn't appear to be at all related to the JVM.
That said, I don't seem to have any problem retrieving the data, either through ODBC or SQL*Plus. If you post your question to the ODBC forum, perhaps some other folks will be able to try this and we can narrow down the problem.

Archiving Object PP_BKFLUSH

We are in the process of archiving PP_BKFLUSH for our client.
1. Can anyone help me by sharing any documents on the functionalities, restrictions and dependencies of the archiving object PP_BKFLUSH (other than in help.sap)? and
2. Any document on the step by step process of archiving methodogy (live example of any archiving object)?

Hi,
1. Objescts like PP_BKFLUSH will be created based on Tables.
2. Objects will be archived first and then deleted based on "Retention Period"
3.Once you archice the date you cannot retrive the data back but you can view provided you have an "archiving info structure" through t.code "SARI"

Archiving object FI_DOCUMNT

Hi, my requirement is to archive the data in table BKORM also along with the archiving object FI_DOCUMNT. I have seen the archiving object FI_DOCUMNT through tcode SARA. Here I observed that this archiving object do not include table BKORM. Can I add this table also the archiving object?
My basic purpose is that the data of table BKORM (and its associated tables) also should get archived along with the table mentioned in this archiving object...
Is there a way out to solve this problem?

Hi Husain,
you may have a look at the BAdI "FI_DOCUMNT_WRITE". This seems to be for archiving additional tables with the AO FI_DOCUMNT. But I am not definitly sure how to deal with it...
