Could this laptop do Creative Cloud photo bundle and work for basic editing? I know there are better options for more money but am looking at something on a budget.

Hi there, our laptop broke recently and we need to replace it. We have several tablets and will purchase a more expensive laptop for work purposes later on, so right now we just need something for the following purposes: Internet surfing with a number of browser windows open at the same time, Word and Excel, movie streaming, Skype and that's it. Nothing fancy or expensive - which I thought would make the choice easy, but it seems there's a ton of different models in the "budget laptop range. Many are really similar and I just can't get myself to pick at random. I'm getting tired of looking and comparing, so somebody please make the choice for me! This are the specs I've been using for my searches, but I'm open to suggestions if you think they should be different, based on what we'll be using the laptop for: - i5 processor - 4gb RAM - Windows 8 64-bit - screen size between 14 and 16 inches - webcam - bluetooth - HDMI output (husband likes to watch shows on big tv sometimes, but it's not really necessary) It seems there's a lot of different models with these specs. Maybe somebody knows more about screen resolution or graphics to narrow it down to the best choice. I was thinking to spend between $500 and $700 - we could spend more, but that seems overkill considering this will just be the everyday-throw-around-let-the-kids-play-with kind of laptop!? In my opinion, pretty much all the machines in that price range(that have the specs you're looking for) are going to be pretty much the same when it comes to quality/durability.

Help! My laptop crashed and had to be rebuilt so I lost all my photos, apps and music etc. I have some on my iPhone and others on my ipad but is there a way of reloading everything that I stored on icloud back onto my windows laptop?

There are a few ways to get your data back up from iCloud. You can download past purchases by following the steps in the first article to get all iTunes media downloaded. The next thing is to import all your photos, the second article that will assist with that process. To get photos from your Photo Stream, download the iCloud Control Panel to get the Photo Stream downloaded to your computer. The last article will assist with getting everything backed up from iCloud.

Need Help Fast! Laptop WoW.

With in a cpl. weeks I am going to be moving to India. I have decided that buying a laptop in India isn't worth the hassle it will definatly be. I have read the other posts on laptops and WoW here and am utterly confused. Ultimately what I want is a laptop that could handle the mass AOE that happens during a 25m Ony whelp attack. I want to keep my fps and not drop to next to nothing during a situation like that. Also I would like something that will most likely still be suitable for the next expansion, as I will be in India and still want to use this laptop. (I know system req. haven't been released on that, but something that will most likely still be usable they are usually not to great of a jump in requirements between expansions.) Also, I would really like something that isn't going to be defective, stop working, or have issues with 2 weeks after I buy it since I won't be in the country anymore to get it handled. It's kind of a long specific wish list, I know. However, I really don't understand computers very well and I need someone knowledgeable to help me. I want to find the most cost effective product that can meet my needs. (I think everyone wants that now a days.) Being able to continue playing while in India is probably the only thing that will help me keep my sanity while taking care of my twins and husband over there. Please help!! The first question to ask is what is your budget? Start looking in the $899-$1000 price range. Anything under that is going to be slow for gaming and a waste of money.
One other point is that it is always a bad idea to buy in the US and then take it out of the country. If it fails then you will need a point of contact back in the US that you can ship the computer to for repair and then pay more shipping to ship it back to India.
Things you want to look for:
Intel Core 2 Duo
2 to 4GB of Ram
512mb to 1GB dedicated memory videocard
250-500GB hard drive
Personally I would avoid Acer, gateway, emachines.
Look at Asus, Alienware or Dell XPS series for gaming and reliablity.
I really think you are setting yourself up for trouble when buying in the US and taking it to India. Laptops just fail so quickly no days.

Need help choosing new laptop, please.

I am in the market for a new laptop. My late 2008 MacBook Pro with C2D 2.66 GHz and 4 GB RAM. I think it is one its last leg and it is showing its age. In fact, I am really in fear that it will give out on me soon. It just shuts down randomly and I don't know how long it has left. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions on laptops.
Here are some of the things that I do, or that I will need a laptop to do for me:
Adobe Creative Cloud Applications (I am a web developer)
Act a media center when I am at home (XBMC, streaming all types of media files)
Budget: just around $600 - That is my limit, but if I can a way better deal, I am all for it.
I need it to be portable, that is why I am going with a laptop. I think that I want to give Windows 8.1 a go instead of OSX this time around.

My concern is: Will this configuration be able to handle Adobe CC 2014? I am a web developer and I need Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver open and running at the same time, as well as multiple browsers and browser tabs at the same time. I am on a budget and this fits in my budget quite nicely.
I have heard and read bad things about HP, so I don't know if I should go with that brand. I have been reading that Lenovo or Asus is the way to go, but most of the laptops that I think I would need are out of my price range. And, I don't know if AMD CPUs will provide the power that I need, but then again I am just guessing because I don't really know. I have not owned an AMD product yet.
So, I am really stuck on what to do. Thank you in advance for any and all help, advice and suggestions.

HI hoping for help pls, laptop was recently repaired& cloned, now will not recognise iphone or ipad, only sees iphone as a camera. TRying desperately to reinstall driver for iphone now , have gotten as far as last steps to find folder in cdrive, found mobile file and there is no driver file at all. HELp! Best laptop for photo editing.. or would a PC be better?

I'm looking to buy a new computer. Would love for it to be a laptop but a PC would be ok too.. Any information on which is best for photo editing.. hopefully a large volume of photo editing.. which ones already have photo programs installed on them? help!

Well.... the biggest limiter will be how much you can spend...
But, you need to look for a higher end processor and a fairly decent graphics card.
No new computers come with any decent graphics program.

Need HELP Connecting new Laptop to a wired modem

Purchased a new HP Pavillion laptop with both ethernet and wireless capabilities-Win 7. Currently have only an old Westell E90-610015-06 modem. Has one wired port to attach a pc. Was/am using an old IBM wired Thinkpads using XP. Work fine, but slow.
Decided to come into the modern world. New laptop connects to the wired lan, can ping the ethernet card, the modem and yahoo.com. When entering most web addresses. get no display of the web page back to the display. Took PC to another Verizon acct and get same failure on a different Westell model of modem/router.
Laptop works fine at Staples and a friends house using cable network PTD. Can access all web sites.
Have spent at least 25 hrs online with various Verizon of India support levels, trying all settings and tests on the HP and Westell.
They blame the Laptop, which I have reloaded twice to factory settings. They Refuse to send a current modem to eliminate that possibility.    Spoke with yet another new PC purchaser, he spent 2.5 hrs on the phone getting his to work. So not unique problems???
Any help or direction I can use on my next 'trip' to India would be greatly appreciated!

New Westell 6100 arrived next day as promised. Modern revision!
As a precaution, since we had played with and checked every setting we could think of, I decided to reload the laptop back to factory settings, and set back up again to ensure we were back to stock settings where it had worked at other sites.
After the reload, I checked to see if the laptop acted the same before swapping out the modem,(for the 4th time) and it did! Didn't Work. Got the LAN connected msg, but would not pass internet data in both directions.
I made sure I followed the new modem setup instructions word for word.
Disconnecting old modem and installed the new one. Except, I DID NOT use the new ethernet cable from the modem to the laptop nor did I replace the phone line (rj11 ends) from the phone jack. Since I was sure both were good as they worked on the OLD IBM laptop.
Modem powered up and after a bit, got the correct indicator lites per instructions. At the point the instructions said open the browser and the Verizon Activation screen would come up, it didn't, instead got a 404 error! After closing and opening IE a few times with the same 404 error, I decided to try entering Verizon.com and low and behold, the activation screen came up and was sucessfully completed.
After completion, It still didn't work. I clicked around the network settings here and there for a bit, did a POR to the laptop, .......them NOTICED the Internet lite had turned red on the modem. When it didn't go green after a bit....I powered off the modem, waited about 30 seconds, powered back up and MY GOD....IT WORKS!
Loaded Google Chrome so I have another browser to compare with if future problems, and will probably add FireFox to the mix. Went out to EBAY, AOL, GOOGLE NEWs sites, got info back sucessfully...... Connected the printer and Win7 went out and brought back the drivers. Left the in-laws to familiarize themselves with Win 7 and ensure any other sites the use work.
Will head back later to install Office and Virus protection and and MSN updates
If it wasn't the modem, getting a new one forced a reactivation thru Verizon setup and settings being reset, that allowed the new HP Laptop to be recognized and work???.
Special thanks to Smith6612 for working me through various attempts to repair and helping me keep my sanity.
Verizon phone helpdesk needs figure out a way so that each time you call on the same problem, you are not starting back at square 1 with level 1 support. After a given time or # of calls, there should be auto escalation to the next level of support. After all, this process stared Aug 4th. If I hadn't been able to see this laptop work at 2 other non Verizon locations, Level 1 would have had me returning this laptop to the MFG 4 times!!!!!

hi, im sorry but i really need help with choosing a laptop. not sure where to post this. i just enrolled in game programming. and im currently on the hunt for a laptop that i can use for programming. i know a desktop is better. but sadly i cant carry it to school. after looking at Alienware, Razer, MSI and others. i kinda want to get an MSI laptop. any suggestions? ofcoz not the high end ones. thank you in advance!

A model with a Steelseries keyboard will by far be the best for you. What are your requirements - screen size/ storage/CPU/GPU/ screen real estate (4K/3k/1080/)/weight/ material - those requirements would help to narrow down the choices since there are so many... Also what country are you in and do you prefer to buy from one store or another?

Need help adding second laptop to network

Please help. I am so frustrated. I setup our new gateway wirelessly using the WRT160N router. Had to call the help line and they helped me go online and configure the router settings. Now I am trying to add a second older laptop (HP Pavilion ZE4400). When I use the disc to install the router info, it stops after it says waiting for the router. Then I get an error message telling me to restore the router to it's default settings. I don't want to undo all that I did with support on the phone. It took forever. Why can I not install the router software on the HP? Can someone help me fix this problem?

If your router is already configured then,do not run the CD on the computer to connect the Wireless Network...Make sure that wi-fi switch is turn ON.
For XP...Click on Start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, Right click on the Wireless Network Connection and click on View Available Wireless Networks and select your Wireless Network and click Connect...Now it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure you enter the correct network key and confirm it...It will connect.
For Vista...Click Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Sharing Center >>Click on Connect to a Network and select your Wireless Network and click Connect, it should ask for your Network Key/Password, enter the correct password/network key and click Connect...It should connect...Once you are connected you should restart the computer, it should connect to Internet...

Need help adding 2nd laptop to router WRT160N

I need to add another laptop to our home network so it can connect to our internet connection. The 2nd laptop shows our home network as an available network connection, however, when I try to connect and enter in the key, the computer gives me a message "please wait while windows connects to the xxxxxx network- waiting for the network" This message stays for approximately 45 seconds then disappears, leaving me at the wireless network connection screen. I have confirmed the network key is correct.
I can connect to the internet if I choose an unsecure connection so I am wondering what other items I need to configure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, those sound like they should be compatible security modes.
What I'd suggest is to reboot your second laptop and power-cycle the router, see if that helps you to be able to connect both laptops.
If that doesn't help, then write down any configuration data that you'll need to re-enter after resetting the router. There's a recessed reset switch on the back of your router, hold that in for about 30 seconds and release it. This will set the router back to factory defaults, so you'll need to re-enter your configuration data using the router web GUI. Then try again to reconnect with both laptops, and see what happens. Please post the results from trying these.

Help! my laptop keeps shutting down itself.

When I power ON my laptop, after 2 or 3 seconds it automatically turn off.Then I press the power button again then nothing happened.When i close the laptop sceern and reopen it the laptop starts without pressing the power button and after 2 or 3 seconds it turn off again.

Welcome to the HP Community! I understand that your laptop does not start when you press the power button but if you close and reopen it turns on without you touching anything. This is very odd and I will be happy to help figure it out.
Let me start by getting some more information:
When you first start it up did you have to open the lid first or do you just shut it off with the lid open?
Do you typically shut it down or do you just let it go to sleep?
Does the same thing happen both when you are on battery and when you are connected to the wall?
What do you have your laptop set to do when you close the lid? If you're not sure this third-party link will show you how to do it.

Using Personal Budget Template- help with Budget/Transactions

Hello,
I'm new to using Number and decided to tackle my budget. I've pretty much stuck with using the default template since I'm not too savvy at this yet. But, I've added a new Category under the Budget page, but it doesn't seem to be transferring to my Transaction page. Is there any way to add my created category to the drop down menu under transactions? I added the category "Gifts," but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to show up in the drop down menu in the Transaction worksheet.

The new features in Pop-ups make it easy to edit and no, editing does not change the chosen values. If you forget to select all the Pop-ups and change one Pop-up cell, you can later select the rest of the column. Format Inspector offers to merge, and again it does not change chosen values.
Also, we can drag items to reorder the menu. Even better, create a Pop-up from data in selected cells (a long time on the wish-list in Numbers 2).

It looks like your Notebook has a blinking/flashing CAPSLOCK light and a blank screen all the time
Please read the below shown information for better understanding:
Capslock LED Blink 1 time : CPU not functional - Replace Processor
Capslock LED Blink 2 times : BIOS Corruption failure - Replace System board
Capslock LED Blink 3 times : Memory error not functional - Replace Memory Module
Capslock LED Blink 4 times : Graphics controller not functional - Replace either System board or Graphics card
Capslock LED Blink 5 times : General System board failure - Replace System board
Capslock LED Blink 6 times : BIOS Authentication failure - Replace System board
However, I would request with you to perform the below shown step before contacting HP
Step 01. Turn OFF the Notebook
Step 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the battery too
Step 03. Press and Hold the Power Button on the Notebook for a full minute
Step 04. Test your Notebook with Battery and Power Adapter alone
Note: If you are still facing the same issue try to remove and reseat the Memory Modules of your Notebook
