Help on computer asking for ''vfwwdm.drv"

I have a web cam. Creative PD00...yes I know it s an old one but still working fine for my needs. I lost the CD for the program and I go on this site to download it. The problem is that when I try to load it, system request the file ''vfwwdm.drv''...helllpppp... I just dont know what it is! or wht to do. Thanks!? and be simple in your answer cause I am french.

You can try looking for the vfwwdm.drv file in the folder C:\Windows\System. If you can't find it there, you will need to manually extract this file from your Windows CD.
If you're not sure how to manually extract a CAB file, you can check this Knowledgebase article SID5339

That's how it works when you have multiple apple ids being used in iTunes.  And this isn't new.

thanx for replly lllaass, but when i authorized it,,computer ask for apple id and password,i put id and password,,but again it says, you have already authorized more than 5 computer,to authorized this computer you ahve to deauthorized othe computer"what does this actually mean, replly plz?

You can only have five computers authorized for one iTunes account.  You need to deauthorize another computer and then authorize this computer.  If yu do not have access to the other computers you can deauthorthize all computer and then authorize the one you want.  You can only deauthorize all once a year.  See the following for how to deauthorize all.

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

  • I'm installing a printer on a MacBook Air via USB connected DVD drive.  The computer asks for my password.  I don't hink we ever had one.  Is there a default password ("admin"

I'm installing a printer on a MacBook Air using an external DVD drive via USB.  The computer is asking for my password to authorize changes to the system.  I don't htink I ever put one on the computer and "admin" and "password" don't work.  Is there a default password?  Or a way to change a password that has been forgotten, wothout resetting the computer and wiping everything out?  Thanks.

Many thanks.  As it happens, I wen to the local Apple Store today for an appointment with a "genius".  She helped me reset the password. And as I look at the screens on the page that you connected me to, they're the same as the genius used.  So your suggesstion was right on the money, and now I'm all set.  Thanks again.

  • Computer asking for Keychain Login to access Mail

Hi, I just turned my computer on, and for the first time ever I was asked by the Mail application to enter my 'login' keychain.
I entered it and it didn't work. Several times. I then clicked Cancel.
Mail then asked me for the login details of both my mail accounts which I entered and they worked fine.
I opened up Keychain Access to see what was going on. Under the Keychains on the left there are TWO login keychains, a System Keychain and a System Roots Keychain.
    Is this normal?
I'm a little worried that I may have some malware on my computer, which is asking for my details. Is this likely and if so can I run anything to discover it?
    Thanks for your help.
    Rich

I've had some Keychain issues; a reboot often solves it for a long while.
But it's quite unlikely it's malware, unless it's a new variant that no one's noted yet.

  • Computer asking for password to make changes to root directory, system and Library.

My computer is asking for my password to make any changes to the root directory, system and Library folders, and and sub folders within those. I dont recall it doing this in the past. I am logged in as the Administrator.

    That's normal.

  • What can I do if my computer asks for a password before booting and I don't know it?

I have a toshoba satellite that is my sons.  I recently replaced the hard drive and now it is asking me for a password upon startup.. There is a black screen with a blue box asking for a password.  I have seen videos on how to remove but none of them apply to my model.  Any help would be aprpreciated.
    Model-L755-S5306

If it's a power-on password set in the BIOS of the laptop, there's no way to remove it without professional servicing. If it's a hard drive password, the hard drive would need to be replaced. I'm sorry.

  • Computer asking for system disk

    HP Pavilion a6650f PC/Windows Vista 64-bit...
My system is asking for a system disk. I dnt recall receiving one... What is this and were can I find it?

Reid613 wrote: HP Pavilion a6650f PC/Windows Vista 64-bit... My system is asking for a system disk. I dnt recall receiving one... What is this and were can I find it?
Hello Reid613, You are correct. HP does not ship system disk with their computer systems. HP suggest you make a set of HP Recovery Restore Disk when you get your system, in case you ever needed to restore the software or the hard drive fails and would need to be replaced.
When you receive a message of this type, the system cannot locate either the hard drive, or the operating system on the hard drive.
If the hard drive has not become faulty, the operating system may have become corrupted. Sometimes a corrupted operating system can be repaired but you would need a Vista Disk to be able to accomplish this, which as you suggested, you do not have.
It may be that your only option would be to perform a HP Recovery Restore, which would wipe the hard drive clean and restore all the software that came with your system. You would loose all the data you have added to the system since you got it, unless you have backups for your data.
To perform a HP Recovery Restore, boot the system and immediately start tapping the F-11 key and see if you can access the HP Restoore Recovery Utility.
If so, just follow the onscreen instructions and the system would be put back as it was when shipped from HP.
This assumes the hard drive has not failed.
Please click the White Kudos star on the left, to say thanks.
Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem.

  • HELP - Can i ask for a test?

I have this problem when try to open to much connection.
"Connection with license server failed - 100000001"
Now i have the PL19 but don't wotks.
Can i ask for a test? Can you try to creare a DI Connection in a loop of 100 times?
Please report to me if you are able to do that with out error.
    Thanks to all
    Flavio

    Hi Flavio,
    To check for memory leaks:
    1) Start your application running
    2) Open Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and click on the processes tab
    3) Find your application in the list of processes and monitor its memory over time (eg let it run for 50-100 loops)
The memory footprint for a single company connection should be around 70-80MB. If there's a leak you'll notice that this goes up by 100-200kb each time the login takes place and is not recovered when the connection is closed (ie it has leaked) even if you explicitly call the garbage collector.
I use a standard connection routine but I'll expose this functionality in a separate class library so my main app can instantiate and dispose of this class properly between loops.
If you find that it is a memory leak that causes a problem then post back and I'll see if I can put some code together (C#).
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • [Help] BalckBerry link asks for device password - why? (Q5)

    Hello friends
    I own an blackbery Q5
I can't say when and I'm sure I've not used any menu to enable some password request.
I use it since few days
From the begin, the steps I've done are
    - backup/restore the data of my previous 9360
    - update to latest OS 10.1 update
    - setting up my BlackBerry ID
    - enabling the development mode (now disabled)
Today, I've plugged the Q5 to my notebook and BlackBerry Link starts with the prompt
"BlackBerry-9496 is password protected" and waits for a password...
    ... which password is this?
I have full access to the Q5, where should I check this password, and hopefully un-check this password request?
I mean, I don't want to be asked for a password.
    Than you for your hints
    Robert

    Surprise!
    I've discovered the issue
when I've enabled the development mode, I've been asked for a password to be setup.
It seemed to me that the password was relative to the development mode, instead reading carefully, it was a request to enable the device password protection.
    Regards to all of you

  • Computer Asks For Password When None Was Set !

I have just helped my neighbour download MacJanitor.
We opened it and it asked as usual for the password. As he has never (knowingly) made up a password we left the box blank and clicked "Continue" only to be confronted with a message telling us the wrong password had been entered. (A couple of years ago when I didn't have a password, leaving a request box empty always worked for me).
He said something about this type of thing having occurred before!
Any idea what is going on and what he can do about it?
    His equipment specs - G5 17" iMac, OSX 10.4.0 , Superdrive - everything bog-standard.
    Ian.

Getting rid of MacJanitor wouldn't solve the problem. Any software that is installed to run maintenance scripts will require authentication for the installation. If it doesn't then I wouldn't install it.
I can recommend some better alternatives to MacJanitor:
    Macaroni
    Anacron
    PseudoAnacron
All three automate the process by running the scripts even if the computer was turned off at the normal time the scripts are set to run. You can find them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

    Hello patfa,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
There are still some troubleshooting steps left for this issue where you're repeatedly requested to put in your Apple ID and password to authorize your computer.  Make sure you are authorizing the purchases from an administrator account on your computer, and also turn off the User Account Controls.  Take a look at the article below for more information.
