Help on converting M4P to .MP3 format?

Afternoon everyone ... new question here for me.
What software do I need to convert M4P files back to MP3 files? iTunes doesn't like it when I try to say "create MP3 CD" when burning downloaded songs back to a disc. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

  • Converting .m4p to .mp3 or .wav?

I have an iTunes problem someone might be able to help with? I have downloaded a .m4p music file in iTunes. I want to use it in photo editing software that only accepts .mp3, .wav and .wma file types, and didn't detect the m4p file in the folder it was in.
Is there any way to get m4p files into mp3/wav/wma formats (without risking overrunning my computer with viruses, spyware etc)? I know there may be legal issues too but I’m not very clear on them so if anyone can inform me that would be helpful.
These are the bright ideas I had so far that didn't work...
I tried to convert .m4p to .mp3/wav in iTunes - copied the file onto a CD, imported it back into iTunes and tried to convert it to .wav in iTunes. But I still got a message saying protected files cannot be converted to other formats.
I tried to download converting software to do this, eg
    http://www.allformp3.com/m4a-to-mp3.htm
    http://www.allmusicconverter.com/
But when I tried to run the software, I kept getting a warning message from Internet Explorer, saying the file did not have a valid digital signature that verified its publisher and advising not to run it, so I didn't run it.
I thought maybe I could open the file in another program and save it in an acceptable different format. I tried Windows Media Player 11, it wouldn't recognise .m4p, and wouldn't let me save in specific formats. I tried RealPlayer, it would open and play the file but wouldn't save it in another format.
    Any advice appreciated!!
    Thanks

Tracks purchased from any legal download store carrying major-label content, including the iTunes Store, are copy-protected (with the exception of music on EMI's labels, much of which is also available in a higher-quality, nonprotected format) and so cannot be directly converted to any other format. You can, however, burn the tracks purchased from the iTunes Store out to an audio CD, at which point it will act just like any other normal audio CD.

  • Is there a way to access a voice message and to convert it to mp3 format directly ?

Is there a way to access a voice message and convert it to mp3 format directly ?

Not directly on the phone, no. You'll need third-party software, like this to extract it from your phone:

  • I have been trying to put music I bought on I tunes on my Samsung Note 2 phone but it won't play.I try to convert them to mp3 format so I can play them on my phone but it won't let me convert them because it says they are protected. Can anybody help me?

I have been trying to put music I bought on Itunes on my Samsung Note 2 but my media player won't play m4p files so I tried to convert the files to mp3 but I couldn't, because a message says they are protected files. I then tried downloading different media player apps to see if they would play them but had no success. Can anybody help with a solution to this problem?

First quit iTunes and look in your iTunes folder.
On Windows, the iTunes folder is in your My Music folder.
On Mac, the iTunes folder is in your Music folder.
Follow this path:    iTunes > iTunes Media > Music >
Here there should be all your music folders. Open the folders containing the music that is not playing. Right click "get info" (mac) or right click "properties" (windows).
This window will tell you the file type. iTunes will play music in AAC, MP3, and Lossless, etc.
If the files are .wma you will need to convert them into ACC or MP3 format for it to play on an iPod. In iTunes, highlight the tracks that you want to convert, then on the menu bar, Advanced > Create AAC/MP3 version and the tracks will convert. Delete the old files.
If the file extenstion is anything like .exe .txt .rar  then you don't have an audio file.

  • Converting m4p to mp3...help needed

Is it possible to convert the tunes I download from m4p to mp3 or wav?
    Thanks!

Not directly, no. You need to burn the tracks to an audio CD, which you can then reimport in any format you wish.

  • ITunes 11...converting files to MP3 Format

I podcast using Garageband, then share the file with iTunes, where I use the advanced menu to convert to MP3...However with the latest upgrade to iTunes 11 the advanced menu is gone...so I can't see how to convert that file to a MP3 format...it seems to be gone...I need some help to see if this still can be done.  Any tips?

Ok, I am not sure if you missed my post or were trying to help too many people at the same time. I am reposting my problem....but nevermind about helping now as I figured it out via other helpful channels.
First email before I clarified my question on how to be able to transfer an mps file into Itunes:
Hi there, I have a few mp3 files that I am trying to convert to the Itunes format but once I select the following, it is not imported. I have checked several threads but it hasnt helped me.
File/Add file to library/"I select the mps file from its location on my desktop" and then just a blink happens but I do not see the file imported. I have searched for any untitled folders by album, song name but it doesnt import.
Then, I saw this post and did the following:
Edit/Preferences/General/Import Settings (clicked on it), and selected MP3 Encoder with the high quality option (however I notice it says, befor ethe drop down: When you import a CD..but I am not importing a CD, just a few files. But there is no other place I can do this for single files or a folder.
    Thanks but no thanks.
Have a good day. Maybe the folks that rated you actually got help from you which is completely reasonable.

You can convert .m4p using iTunes.
Make a playlist of files and burn to "audio CD". Use the new .aiff file in your iMovie Project.

  • UCCX Script - Upload step - Convert to default mp3 format

    Hi folks,
I have a upload step working properly and doing the upload to my prompt repository.
I need to send the recording file by e-mail, but when I try to play this file, this is not possible due a codec format.
There's any way to convert the recording file to default mp3 codec format?
    Thank you

    Hi.
That's a bit strange, but not impossible, that the person receiving the email does not have a media player capable of understanding G.711 or G.729.
Anyway, I am not aware of any good (stable) mp3 encoder in Java, which could be "plugged into" a UCCX script. And even if there was one, the mp3 format is patented and you would have to buy the license from the Fraunhofer Institute.
I would first save the file in a database or on a remote file system, and use a scheduled process to convert it to mp3 or any different format and then mail it. Not an elegant solution, but it should work.

  • Lossless convert m4p to mp3, wav, unprotected aac, etc.

I see that similar questions have been posted many times over, but still can't find what I'm looking for. My goal is a lossless conversion from m4p to wav.
Most solutions I've found on Apple Discussions is to first burn the audio track to a CD and then RE-import them in the format of your choosing. However, being a slight audiophile, I am concerned that the burn-and-import method is going to negatively affect the quality of the audio.
Are there any legal "macApps" that will provide a lossless conversion of mp4 to wav (preferably w/o burning) ?
    cheers,

You really cannot. MP4 is a lossy format. You do not gain anything by converting to WAV - whatever you had before, would be gone when the MP4 was created. There is no benefit whatsoever for doing such a thing.

  • How do you convert itunes to mp3 format?

I need help to download in MP3 to a cell ohine.

If you are talking about store purchases, they are in protected AAC format ^ a format change can't be done directly. What you can do is burn your purchase to an audio CD, that audio CD will act like any CD that you buy in the store.

  • Need help on converting pdf to original formatted word doc?

Purchased trial for Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and cannot seem to convert pdf files back to the original formatted word docs as promoted by this product.  Keep experiencing formating issues which would reuire me to go back and re-work the word doc which defeats the purpose of being able to convert the pdf back to the word doc.  Is there a way to keep the original formatting in the word doc when converting from the pdf?
    Thanks!

You need to use PDF Maker to have hope of working backwards. However, in practice the best solution is to keep the WORD document and not try to go back and forth. Going from PDF to WORD is hit and miss. If you have equations, you can forget obtaining the result correctly as far as I know, particularly if they are MathType. In general you can convert to DOC or DOCX, but it is not a recommended work flow to use regularly.

Once you convert the songs to MP3, you need to add the newly converted MP3 to a playlist then burn this playlist.
When converting, iTunes actually makes a new file. It does not convert the original file to a new format.
