Help on exchange profile

Hi All
I am having a problem logging into the rep.
I get the following error
Unable to read configuration data (ExchangeProfile/aii.properties)
and under erro details is the following:
MESSAGE ID: com.sap.aii.utilxi.prop.api.rb_all.NO_PROPERTIES
com.sap.aii.utilxi.prop.api.PropertiesException: Unable to read configuration data (ExchangeProfile/aii.properties)
at com.sap.aii.utilxi.prop.api.PropertySourceFactory.initServerMode(PropertySourceFactory.java:202) and so on.....
any help plz.

Exchange Profile missing in PI 7.0

Hi All,
We have installed NW04S PI usage and while performing the PostInstall steps we do not find Exchange Profile in /global directory.
We performed all the steps manually instead of the Template Installer, transaction SXMB_IFR shows the SAP work directory and the URL throws out the error exchange profile not set.
All other configurations are done and i have follwed all blogs, guides and help, but couldn't find the solution.
1. Is there any other way to set the exchange profile parameters?
2. Can we run the Template Installer after performing the steps manually?

Problem in importing SAP Exchange profile (BASIS settings) - Urgent

Hi,
I am currently facing problem in importing SAP Exchange profiles manually.
When i enter into http://<J2EE_host>:<J2EE_port>/exchangeProfile with username as PISUPER, the page is getting loaded but
1.it shows a error message stating, Name or password is incorrect
2. When i ignore that error and proceed with the connections tab to edit the server settings, i cannot set the password for PILDUSER. It again says, Name or Password is incorrect..
What could be the reason for these errors. Please help me... This is very urgent....

Thanks for your response guys. I checked for PISUPER and PILDSUPER in SU01 and checked for lock but it shows an error message saying User doesnot exist.
Kindly let me know how to procced on in this case.

XI 3.0 System Copy - Exchange Profile incorrect

Good day,
I have copied an XI 3.0 according to the system copy guides.
I had the source system "live" as well as the "target" during post processing. During this time, I had the hostname of target populating my source SLD Exchange Profile.
As I cannot find anything documented, can anyone advise what the process should be do achieve a system copy.
Must the source be unavailable(down altogether) when doing the copy and post processing?
Any input from anyone who has been through this process will be geatly appreciated.

I am facing the same problem, please help me.
We are using XI 3.0 on Windows and MSSQL platform, i have made system copy sucessfully from production system with process of DB restore for ABAP and Java Import, the new server is up and running both abap and java.
Problem : In the newserver when i execute the tcode sxmb_ifr it takes me to production server url and not the new server hostname url.
when i tried the http://newserver hostname.com:50000 it works fine. but from this url except home page every other link like exchaneprofile, SLD,IR and ID links still points to the production server host name.
Please look at the following post installation activities i have performed till now in new serverand please guide where else i have to change the host name in the new server.
Note: i did not cange the logical system assignment in scc4, beacuse i was not sure about the other problems we may face after directly assigning new logical system to the productive client in new server.
1. Run installation check: Administration u2192 System administration u2192 Administration u2192
Installation Check (transaction SM28).
2. Configure the Workbench Organizer (SE06) with the option Database Copy. This
releases all transport, repair, and customizing requests that have not been released in
the source system.
3. Configure STMS
4. In transaction RZ70, change the value for the host and the gateway service in the group box
Transport Information
5. Change the pipeline to the Integration Server by running transaction SXMB_ADM -> Configuration -> Integration Engine Configuration
6. Open Visual Administrator -> Change the new host name in the following
services -> Jcorfcprovider all the services
services -> SLD Suppiler
7. Host name Change in SLDAPICUST
Note: In the SAP system copy guide it says me to chane few parameters in exchange profile but when i go through the url http://newserver hostname.com:50000/exchangeProfile it takes me to production server, is there any option to change the exchange profile parameters ?

Importing Exchange Profile For PI7.0

Hi Experts,
We Installed PI 7.0 with 000,001,066 Clients.
I want to have Another Client For this I followed this SAP Note 940309
But While Doing the Following thing i Got the Error like Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts 
Start the Exchange Profile (http://<host>:<port>/exchangeProfile) and logon with PISUPER. Go to 'Connection' on top of page (don't mix up with connections tree on the left) and set the new client.
Here I changed The Client And I Given the Password Which we r Using Master PWD. Then This Error Came.
After this Iam Unable to get Any thing in Exchange Profile. Then What Should I Do Now
Should I Re import the Exchange Profile Or NOt.
Please Give me Some Help.

Did you fully complete the steps mentioned in the OSS note??

To update the SLD with the new client data, logon to the new client, start transaction RZ70 and press 'Start data collector without Job scheduling'.
Note: Use the "without Job scheduling" button (F9), so that the SLD is updated immediately. Check the 'last updated' timestamp in the SLD.
Logon to the SLD. Choose 'Technical Systems' and select your 'WebAS ABAP' system. Tab strip 'Business Systems' shows your system. Select it and change to tab strip 'Integration'. Press 'Change' and select the new client. Don't forget to save !
Attention: Reboot the XI J2EE Engine after that to insure that XI gets the changes from the SLD and the Exchange Profile.

Error when reading Exchange Profile

Hello everyone,
I have a simple file=>XI=>file scenario.
The sender file adapter picks up the file fine.
File is put-to and retreived-by the queue just fine.
I then get the error "Error when reading Exchange Profile for system .. and client ..."
SLDCHECK gives error "Connection to SLD does not work"
LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI have been test and work fine.
Any ideas?

IDoc adapter inbound channel: Error Error when reading Exchange Profile

Hello Experts,
Currently i am working on an IDOC to file scenario, in which Data will be sent from ECC server (IDOC) to an FTP server via SAP PI, but when i try to send IDOC to PI, i am getting the following error
in Transaction SM58:-
'IDoc adapter inbound channel: Error Error when reading Exchange Profile for system XID and
client 401 occurred in the IS pipeline' .
Can anyone please help me on this.

Let me explain to you the whole scenario, We have two servers of PI, 7.1 & 7.0. Now the Java Stack of 7.0 is not working & Cache update of 7.1 is not happening.
Thats why we have linked ABAP stack of 7.0 with Java stack of 7.1. Now we can see the objects created under Java 7.1 in ABAP stack of 7.0 (SXI_CACHE).
Now we have done all the settings to create an IDOC to file scenario. All the RFCs are working fine, but when we send an IDOC from the ECC system to ABAP 7.0, we are getting the following error 'Error while reading exchange profile for system NW' in SM58 .
Now can anyone tell me what exact settings i have to change in the Exchange profile (Java stack of 7.1), so that the Java 7.1 & ABAP 7.0 connection is setup or do i need to change anything else.

Hi Srini,
You can navigate to see the exchange profile in PI from integration builder page-> administration->exchange Profile.
If you expand the exchange profile you can see different parameters maintained against each components of PI.
so exchange Profile is a set of parameters which are used for the complete functioning of PI components.
Please make sure you don't play with the setting without having a proper knowledge of impact of the changes.
Generally we add a parameter If we want to implement any ABAP mapping , other than that i think a developer need not
change anything in exchange Profile.
Most of the parameters are initialized at the time of installation of PI but the system administrator need to maintain them.

Do we have to set any exchange profile paramters for the java runtime to function to transfer the data from the messaging system to java proxy method.

Accessing Exchange Profile Parameters programatically (using Java/ ABAP)

Does anyone know how to access 'Exchange Profile parameters' programatically. (from java).

Exchange profile pointing to old hostname after the system copy

I did system copy of SAP XI3.0 SP19 from host HOST1 (Windows 2003 , MS SQL 2005 SP3)to HOST2 (Windows 2008 R2, MS SQL 2005 SP3)with the same SID . I am using same SID as i will have to upgrade XI3.0 to PI7.1 EHP1 on the new host(trying to use parallel environment).
The copy is fine and Java is up, however , there is some problem with the exchange profile of the new host.It has IR, ID, RWB,SLD hosts pointing to HOST1.When i try to change the host to HOST2 and save it gives me this message

Connection tab in the exchange profile points to HOST2.I ensured SLDAPICUST,SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine points to HOST2 ,also maintained the Pipe LIne URL to point to HOST2.I have followed the follow -up activities of system copy guides .But the issue is not resolved , exchange profile does not allow me to change the hostnames of IR, ID ,RWB.
Could you please help me with this issue?
Is the issue because of using same SID on different hosts?

You need to change host name manually in to Exchange profile, RFC, JCo and make sure PI is connected to SLD.

Hi,
I am trying to do the configuration for the pre built examples (Airlines, Agency ) using XI after installation.
But when I installed XI and did the post install configuration, I had mentioned 000 as Integration server and configured the same using the SLD (URL) in business system configuration.
But when I was doing the configuration for the example, I wanted to configure the client 100 as integration server on SLD (under business systems) , so I deleted the old business system pointing to client 000 (as it is defined as integration server) and now I am trying to add a new business system (client 100) on SLD and it is giving me an error saying that the integration server already defined.
On the SLD error log it also shows tat No Host name defined in Exchange profile for sld.SID.host...
Are the above two errors related and how do I add the client 100 as a business system on SLD and have it as my Integration server.....

Thanks for the reply...but all the checks were successful when I did the configuration in 000 and before I deleted the business system for client 000 in SLD...(See my post and problem above..)....I messed with my SLD and removed the business system for client 000 (which is configured as the integration server) and now when I try to add a new business system for client 100 (as integration server>..) I am not able to do as it gives me a error saying integration server already exists even though I deleted it from SLD Business system..

PI 7.1 Exchange profile parameter:

I got a chance to have a look at PI 7.1. While going through the Exchange Profile parameters, I found a new addition to the existing parameter list. Its called internal. I could not find any information about it.
help.sap documenation also does not make a mention of this parameter
I want to know why this parameter is required. Please help.

I am not sure but most of the Exchange profile parameter are to be for SAP Intyernal use only that should not be altered while custom Installations.
May be that kind of paramteres have sagreegated under Internal category to restrict the changes for it.

Sharing SLD and Exchange Profile Settings

Hi
We have a Development system (DXI and and the SLD is hosted on DXI.
Now we are trying to install a fresh Development system (UXI) which will use/share the same SLD hosted on DXI. We did a system copy of DXI and then changing the exchange profile settings of UXI (Host etc) to point to correct system also changes the Exchange profile parameters of DXI system.
Somehow both the exchange profile settings of two systems are linked and changing one changes the another one with the same settings, thus starting repository, Configuration of DXI actually leads to another UXI system and Vice versa on changing exchange profile settings.
Any inputs how to keep exchange profile settings segeregated will be helpful as both the system have their own box/host and only SLD is shared which is on DXI.

No Connection to IB -- R3 Exchange profile - pls clarify the following ?

P.S:- don't check XI's exchange profile as it will anyways be there.
Basically to fetch the details of interfaces into SPROXY..connection to XI is required from the R/3's exchange profile
My question is
1. We are having WebAS 7.0 . XI7.0 SP10 . R3 system is ECC6.0
 a. we have ONLY ABAP Instance no java instance running in this . So, how can we access the exchange profile for R3system ?

Hi Ranga,
ECC will use exchange profile in XI, so you don't need additonal java instance for ECC, so when you call the SPROXY, actually it call to XI.
Please make sure the connection from ECC to XI its work.
and your ECC can ping to the XI computer (using domain name)
