Help on in-store pickup availabili​ty - vagueness

Basically, I'm looking to purchase one of the laptops here. Problem being, it has only in-store pickup. That's not a problem for me, I'd run out and buy the laptop in a heartbeat, but here's my conundrum - I don't know how to tell if any given store actually HAS the product. Here's a screenshot to show why I'm all wary:
On one hand, the text tells me that any store with the City and State names in bold have the product. That's all well and good, but... then what's with the big unavailable tag next to every single city? This is bothering me, as I'm not sure which to believe here. Can someone tell me if this is either unavailable everywhere or available everywhere? Because I'm not totally confident to pick one here.

even though it says it will show up in bold lettering, the color of the bold lettering will be different if it is available. also it will have an add to cart tab next to the city and state if it is available.

  • Can I change pre-orders from In-Store Pickup to Ship-to-Home?

    Right out of the gates, I know I'm far from the first person to have concerns about amiibos and pre-orders associated with them.
    I have all of wave 3 as well as the Best Buy exclusive Meta-Knight preordered for In-Store Pickup, but my Wave 2 preorders have been extremely hit or miss thus far. My Little Mac never showed up in store, and when the CS representative there offered to have one shipped to me, it was cancelled. My Pit never showed up, and I was never even given a chance for a contingency. I had just missed out on it entirely.
    My friends who pre-ordered with Ship-to-Home have had little to no issue, so if possible, I would like to change my preorders to be handled that way.
    Overall, and like many others, I'm very disappointed with Best Buy's In-Store Pickup option. As a result, I find myself backing up pre-orders with other retailers. I'm not wild about the concept of preordering with Best Buy being such a gamble. If there's any way to shift me over to Best Buy's more reliable Ship-to-Home option, I would very much like to do it.

    The amiibo figures are wildly popular! I can understand why you would be concerned with your store pickup pre-order if you haven't had the best of luck with your previous ones, which I am deeply sorry to hear about. 
    Sadly, as the amiibos are currently sold out online, we would be unable to modify your order for shipping to your home. With that said, at this time your best bet would be to keep the pre-orders as they are. I apologize if this was not the response you were hoping for when you reached out to us on the forum.

  • Issue w/Witcher 3 Pre-Order $10 Certificates, Store Pickup and Steelbook

    I picked up my order yesterday for In-Store Pickup & had a couple of issues. First, when I was picking up my order, the associate helping me tried to pick up the two large boxes at the same time & I watched as they slipped from his grip & he dropped them in front of me. The outer sleeves of the boxes came unattached to the boxes & since one of the boxes fell on the other one, there was some slight damage to the box, there's a large crease on the top now. I asked him if he could grab another two that weren't damaged since they were obviously dropped right in front of me, but the associate said there were no other ones available. To him it might not seem like a big deal, but if I am going to spend the large amount of money on the Collector's Edition of an item, I like EVERYTHING to be pristine & perfect, even the outer packaging! That was disappointing.
    On top of that, I asked about the Witcher 3 Best Buy Exclusive Steelbooks I was supposed to get w/my Pre-Order & he said they had not yet arrived, & that two would be set aside for me & to call the store later that day to see if they were delivered. Luckily I was able to get them, but I figured that it shouldn't be my responsibility to stay on top of the shipment, I felt that I should have at least been the one to RECEIVE a call since my order was at the risk of being incomplete, & ME having to call the store to track the shipment is an inconvenience to me.
    My other concern is I checked my reward zone purchase history & while I already received the points for picking up my Pre-Order Games, I have NOT received the Victory Can Be Pre-Ordered $10 in Reward Certificates for the games, there is NO record of it in my Purchase History to reflect the Pre Order Bonus. Normally it is shown in the same section of points for the purchase (it can be seen when I check the details of my Mortal Kombat X Pre Order picked up a month ago).

    I have to admit, the circumstances you’ve described around your The Witcher: Wild Hunt pre-order are pretty frustrating to me. Obtaining your SteelBook should have been standard protocol, not a matter of “luck”. Also, I can completely understanding wanting a Collector’s Edition that’s in good shape and I greatly apologize if you received one that isn’t in perfect condition!
    One positive note I can add here is that you likely have nothing to worry about with the $10 Reward Certificate portion of your pre-order. These points generally don’t show up until 15-20 days after you pick up your pre-order and within this timeframe, they may or may not even show as pending.
    If for any reason you don’t see the 500 points ($10) in the timeframe mentioned above, please send me a private message via the link in my signature. Keep in mind, the points may appear back when you placed your pre-order, so be sure to look there as well.

  • Could not upgrade online and select in-store pickup

    Could not upgrade online and select in-store pickup. I tried several times on my phone and on my computer. Just no option was on site to select for in-store pickup.
    I finally used the chat now to get help. The person said they could help me with this. All this person did did was give me a toll free number to call. I could have just called the toll free number myself, without using the chat now.  When I called the toll free number, the person then passed me along to someone else.  The 3rd CS rep called a store to make sure they had the phones in stock that I was upgrading to. Did this CS rep set me up for in-store pickup? No,, again I was given another phone number and name of person to call and talk to. This was the sales clerk at the Verizon store that I use. The sales clerk could not and would not set up an appt. for today (Fri), due to IPhone6 release so have to wait til Sat.
    Not one single CS even attempted to help get my online order placed and to use in-store pickup. I have used online help chat many times with other companies and they always got things set up for you. I hope the store clerk is more helpful than Verizon's customer service was (or lack of service).

  • Change Backordere​d item to store pickup

    So I preordered the movie, "John Wick" for Blu ray and just got an email saying that it was on backorder and will be ready for delivery between February 17 and March 6. I was hoping to change my shipping order to store pickup since it is available at my nearest Best Buy store. I called the BestBuy phone number, but they couldn't change it due to it being prepared for shipping. Should I wait to see if it will ship any sooner than February 17? Also would like to ask since my item is still being prepared according to my order status and the email says that the item won't ship until the time between February 17 - March 6, then why am I not able to change my order to store pickup? I was hoping since there was at least a two week gap between estimate shipping date and now that I could change the order to store pickup. Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from BestBuy.

    I always have to know when my online orders are coming. For me, it has gotten to the point where I look out my apartment window and wait for the mail to arrive on the expected day of delivery. I’m glad to hear your Blu Ray is on its way though, especially if it was on backorder. This could explain why our phone agents were unable to honor your request to modify your online order.
    Using the email address you provided to register on the forum, I pulled up your online order to see when it might be arriving. Please know USPS has it scheduled for delivery on Tuesday, 2/10. If you have any further questions about this though, feel free to let me know. I’ll be glad to help.

  • Destiny PS4 bundle Unavailable for in store pickup...

    I've decided to purchase that awesome glacier white PS4 coming out in September, but it seems that it's unavailable at my local store for in-store pickup. Is this a supply issue? I'd love to get it release day (like everyone else) so is it possible that more PS4's could be allocated to my store in the next week or two? I'm trying to preorder online for in store pickup, if that helps.

    There isn't much else we can add beyond what jac522 has already mentioned -- quantities of the Glacier White PS4 bundle are limited, just like the Ghost and Limited editions. The best advice we can give would be to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for updates.

  • How Do I change my Iphone 5S order to in store pickup?

    What the heck.
    I placed an order within 24 hours of the iphone 5s debut. The order is of course still stuck in "processing purgatory".
    My card has been charged for the $10 shipping fee. But not the full price.
    (I thought orders over $100 were free shipping?)
    I know people who have walked into stores and simply bought the phone they wanted. So random walk ins are basicaly cutting the line of folks that already placed an order?
    I'm a long time Apple guy. Now I do not expect a fricking gold star and red carpet treatment. But for crying out loud, you would think if you order from the bloody manufacturers website you might be able to count on decent, if not good, customer service.
    Instead I feel like I am at the DMV trying to get a car registered without a pink slip.
    I am not the only person stuck in this jam. Plenty of us do not have the time to go wait at an Apple retail store for hours. I can only order online, or run into a store on my lunch break, if I skip lunch.
    Not saying I am going to "leave apple forever" or somesuch foolishness. But I sure as heck won't try ordering off of the Apple website EVER again.
    On to an actual question.
    How on earth do you change an online order to in store pickup?
    I can find the model I want as available at a few stores that are about 50 miles away. But I am afraid if I cancel my order then make a new one I'll end up with no pending order and a bunch of stores that show no stock by the time my renewal discount refreshes.
    ps. hilarious that purgatory is an ok word, but h3ll is not. Lets see if "heck" works.

  • If I ordered in store pickup for 2 items can I pick them up on one day

    I ordered a MacBook Air 11in upgraded so it won't come till the 12 of this month so I got a $100 iTunes gift cards with it. When I go to ordering select in store pickup for both items not thinking if they had a limit on the amount if days they will hold an item.  So I finished my order and then I get a notification later saying that my item is ready for pickup...then I realize my MacBook Air isn't going to be ready till the 12 so can I wait for my MacBook Air and pick them up on the same day or do I have to pick them up on separate days... Thanks

    they generally hold items for 5 days.  But if you call the store and explain the situation they will probably hold them longer, within reason.

  • Reserved for Store Pickup, No pre-order and Ship to Store!

    I'm reading all these discussions and my head is exploding. I was up @ 4am yesterday banging away like you all.
    My criteria was this; I was eligible for upgrade @ $199 with the activation fee waived (sweet). I wanted to pick the phone up at my Apple store because I trust it more then brown.
    When I clicked the pre-order link, there was NO option to have it sent to the store, it could only be sent to my house. Let me repeat that, NO option to send anywhere but house. It even says it "Pre-order your iPhone 4 from the Apple Online Store and we’ll ship it free — directly to your door and ready to use."
    So I went to the reserve in store process. There was NO WAY TO PAY for it up front. Let me repeat that; NO WAY TO PAY for the reserved phone. So I received my confirmation email and said there is a phone waiting for me on the 24th!
    I called 2 Apple stores and chatted online with 3 Apple support people and they ALL, every single 1 of them, said the same exact thing. The only way to pickup in the store is to go through the reservation process. The store will have 2 lines, reserved and general. The reserved will be there all day for you to pick up.
    So, does anyone have some proof that you pre-ordered it, paid for it and have it sent to your Apple store, not your home to pick up?

    This time for this phone things are very confusing. I preordered yesterday for in store pickup got through the verification process saw that all my data and cell plan info were correct.   • Problem with in store pickup

    I recently purchased a pair of beats solo 2 as a gift for my girlfriends birthday and elected to do in store pickup.  I get the confirmation email saying it is ready for pickup so i head over to the store.  Once i get to customer service, they pull up my order number but cant seem to find the pair of beats anywhere.  They call another employee to see if there is another pair on the shelves.   After 10 minutes of no one coming back to the counter, i decide to go look for them my self.  After seeing they didnt have the solo 2 in black anywhere on the shelves, i return to customer service, only instead of going back to the employee that i was dealing with, they make me wait in the back of the line.  After another 10 minutes of waiting in line I get back to the same employee and they tell me that someone must have gave the beats to another customer when they were supposed to be held aside for me with my name on it.  They told me to come back in a couple days when they get a new shipment.  I told them that I needed to have them that day as they were a gift for someone and couldnt afford to wait a couple more days.  They told me i could cancel my order and the money would go back on the gift card i used for the purchase but i threw the gift card out after i used it.  They told me they couldnt issue a new gift card so i was basically out of luck.  I elected in store pickup for a quick, convient purchase and instead i wasted 30 minutes, had to make 2 trips to the store to pick up my purchase, and my girlfriend got her birthday gift two days late because of an employee error.  I will never do in store pickup again while shopping at best buy.

Hearing that your pair of Beats by Dr. Dre Solo 2 may have been given to someone else after being picked for your order is highly discouraging, as this is not at all the experience we strive to provide our customers.

  • Dragon Age Inquisition no store pickup all of a sudden?

    I hope this is an error, but I had to cancel my PS4 preorder of Dragon Age Inquisition to opt for the Xbox 360 version so I could play with my friend. I just went to preorder 2 copies of the 360 version and it says Shipping Only, not allowing me to choose In Store Pickup. It seems to be that way for all platform copies.
    Is this a glitch in the system? I need to pick these up in store. It let me choose that before.

    I have to say, what I’ve seen of Dragon Age: Inquisition so far has been amazing!  The ability to switch up between your followers and plan different combat strategies by doing so has me really intrigued.  Plus…DRAGONS!
    Ordinarily, I would be inclined to say that yes, it is possible that a Deluxe edition of a game could show that it is only available for shipping if the stores in your area had hit their thresholds for pre-orders.  However, in doing some testing on my own, it appears that every SKU for this title (regular and deluxe) is only offering shipping, so I’m going to look into this further and see what I can find out.
    Once I have more information, I’ll update this post to let you know what I find out!

  • Store Pickup Order Cancelled - CC Charged

    To whom it may concern:
    I was unable to get to my local Best Buy in time to pick up an item I ordered online for store pickup.  I know I shouldn't post order numbers on here, so I'm hoping that you'll be able to look up my order by item, which is Archer Season 5 Blu-ray.  I understand that a temporary charge is always placed on orders, but it was my understanding that the actual charge wouldn't take place until the item was picked up.  The cancellation email that I received even stated, "Be assured that if you paid by credit card, it has not been charged."  However, looking over my bank account activity online, I have already been charged for this order.  I know it was this particular order due to the amount charged.  Do I have to wait the usual 3-5 days for it to be taken off?  Reading the policies, it shouldn't have been charged in the first place.

    Thank you for being a loyal Best Buy customer. I can understand you concern at discovering that your cancelled order had been charged to your credit card, and I'm very sorry for any confusion this has caused. 
    As Sam mentioned, when you place an order on BestBuy.com there is an authorization hold placed on the card for the total amount of the order. If the order is cancelled this authorization is released, or otherwise when the order is picked up or shipped the final charge is processed. Using the e-mail you registered on the forum I was able to locate the order, and it looks like the authorization was released on 01/16. You should be able to view the funds back in your account at this time.

  • No Store pickup option for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round?

    Hello,
    I am trying to pre order Dead or Alive 5: Last Round and there is no in store pickup option. Is this a mistake? Also there was previosly DLC included with the purchase that would add to your cart with the game, I noticed that this has been removed. Is the DLC now included in the box?

    I have six Xbox 360 Games in my cart that I would love to purchase!  
    Only problem is "Only Available for Store Pickup" and no stores in my area?
    This really seems silly to me and is a missed sales opportunity.
    No one our buying these games and no one probably will.
    These titles have been available now for months...  
    Is there any possible way to simply have them shipped
    to me or my local BB if they must be picked up at a store?
    I would be more then happy to pick them up If I could.
    There must be a way around this, can someone here work their magic.
    Let's figure out how we can make this happen and make a sale!

    How frustrating it would be to get a great selection of several games in your cart only to find they aren't available for store pickup in your area! If they're fairly popular games that we should be getting consistent stock of, it would seem strange that none of them are available in your area. 
    Sadly, if they are only available for store pickup, we would likely be unable to ship them to your home. With that said, if you should like to provide me the name for each game (SKUs would work perfectly) I would be happy to look further into this issue with you!

Maybe you are looking for
