Help on KT3V Motherboard

I just buy a KT3V and AMD Athlon 2000+ with original heatsink and fan.
But a can't set my cpu clock to 1.67G
I can only get 1.36G max with FSB 109. more than that will crash...
When i check the CPU Voltage, I only get 1.76 min. I though my processor can as low as 1.65 or 1.60?
Any idea what is happening?

Hi,
Either the CPU cooler isn't mounted/greased properly or your powersuplly is too light....
Read the trouble guide on top of the forum on these matters :D

  • KT3V motherboard Possibly damaged.

I built a computer for a child using the KT3V motherboard as a gift for Xmas 2005. The specs that I can remember are:
    Athlon 1600 cpu
    768 MB ram
    DVD+R Drive
    CD-RW Drive
    60 GB HDD
    Win XP Home
I get a call from the child's grandmother saying that the computer is not working and can I come take a look at it. I asked her how  the computer was acting and she was not really able to describe it to me. I went to check it out and when I pushed the power button, nothing. I told her that the power supply was bad and that I had a spare power supply that I had swapped out of a new case without using it and that I would change it for her. (POWMAX 450 W) After I changed the power supply the computer started booting but the monitor had taken a while to come on and I missed the post screen. What did come up was a message that the hard drive was reported by S.M.A.R.T. as being bad and to backup and change it. After pressing the F1 key the computer continued booting and windows started OK. At this point since I had heard the floppy drive check I decided to check the optical drives for operation since I did not see them check during the post. I tried the power button on each drive and neither would open. I rebooted the computer and during post the drives were not listed. The next day I installed a new IDE cable and the drives still were not recognized during post and they still were not seeming to be getting power. Fans were being fed off of the same power leads as the drives so I removed the fan leads and still no power to the drives. I am beginning to wonder if there was some sort of voltage spike that took out the power supply and damaged the hard drive, motherboard, and optical drives. The fans still work with optical drives on the same leads. I tired some spare drives that I have but they will not work either. (they might be bad ) I have one brand new combo drive that am thinking of trying. Any suggestions ?

Hard to say! Could be the old PSU took something with it, if I read your post correctly.
Do you have another disk to try?
This is a power draining thing that has worked in similar situations...sometimes.
Disconnect things from the motherboard, after pulling power cable of course. Especially all the power cables. Take PCI-cards out and the graphics card and the memory(!!), and the CMOS battery. Leave it be for a couple of hours.
When you restart, don't have anything but the processor on.
Beeping okey!? Then put one stick of memory back on, no more.
    Next thing is graphics card.
Next would be one hard disk, no more and one that you are sure is in good health.

I have an Ideacentere A310 ALL IN ONE AND iM LOOKING TO MAYBE GET A REPLACEMENT MOTHERBOARD BECAUSE THE POWER SWITCH IS BROKEN. i HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO LOOK FOR ON COMPUTER PARTS WEBSITES IT IS WAY OVER MY HEAD. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN TO ME IN VERY SIMPLE TERMS HOW TO FIND A REPLACEMENT MOTHERBOARD BECASUSE i have absolutely no clue. thank you

http://www.manualowl.com/m/Lenovo/IdeaCentre-A310/Manual/118029 shows the repair manual, but first why don't you describe what your unit is doing/not doing, there are several things that might be wrong other than your switch.
If the switch is physically broken then it can probably be replaced.
More info might help someone help you.

  • Please help me locate motherboard documentation and diagram

I have purchased a Lenovo IdeaCentre K320-30192GU. For some strange reason, none of the manuals and none of the info on the Lenovo support site make any reference whatsoever to the motherboard. After a long session with the tech person at Lenovo support I was told that no information could be given to me that wasn't already on that site. (I have never owned a computer for which this information was not available.)  I would like to know the motherboard's ID and a documentation source. Some posts made reference to an app that would identify the processor, but this is not what I want. Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you download the Hardware Maintenance Manual from the Lenovo Support site, all the part numbers are there, as well as removal instructions.

  • Help find my motherboard model!

I own (kinda history) a dv 2112 tu! It's dead now - motherboard problem. Can any1 tell me wt the motherboard model is? I mean, its dead and I can't find the motherboard that used to be on the 2112 tu. Pls, reply quick and honestly. Preferred answers from those who own it!!!!!

I don't own one, but if you remove both RAM sticks, the model number of the mother board is underneath them ending in -001. The model number can be Googled or you can enter it in the ebay search box in your country.
If you lost the mother board then there are a few of them listed in the service manual on page 5-70.
     http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035657.pdf
Unfortunately your product specs are not listed so I can't tell you if you were running an Intel or AMD processor.
Here are a couple of examples from ebay US.
     http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=dv+2112+tu+mother+board&_sacat=0&_odkw=dv+2112+tu&_osacat=0&_trk...
     These people ship world wide.

I thought I would post what I have as you may never get a response from a dv2112 tu owner.

  • Help with Keyboard-Motherboard ZIF Connector

I have a 1033CL Mini - I replaced the hard drive and in the process broke most of the motherboard-keyboard zif connector -
I am able to put the cable back in and close is with about half of the damaged zif but only abpout half of the keys work now -
I hate to have to buy a new motherboard to fix this problem -
    Any ideas?Thanks

The only fix I have ever seen is to epoxy the ribbon cable in there...apply some type of pressure while the cement dries...not a certain fix but you can't hurt anything trying it. You are likely going to need a new board and I hate to use you as an example but it illustrates why you should not casually try to repair a laptop. Even an experienced tech is one slip of the screwdriver away from a boat anchor. Think back to the old phrase frm WWII and gas rationing..."is this (repair) really necessary?"

  • Need Urgent Help in PM8M-V H problem - keyboard freeze

    Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie in this forum and I really need urgent help with my motherboard.
    My PC specification:
    Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
    MSI PM8M-V H W7104VMS v3.4 022206 14:32:17
    1GB(512MB x 2) Kingston PC3200 400MHz
Seagate SATA II 320GB ST3320620SV (set with jumper to support SATA I)
Power Color ATI Radeon 9550 256MB
    Lite-On DVDRW SHM-165P6S
    USB mouse, PS/2 Keyboard
I really appreciate if anyone can help to guide me in solving my problem. My keyboard tends to freeze at the part where it says "Press any key to boot from CD". This limits me to do anything until I'm totally loaded into Windows.  Thus, disable me to perform any formating and fresh installation of OS. However, the keyboards works fine at the begining of the POST and in BIOS. Is there any settings in BIOS that i should perform?.....
However, I realise in order to get through the foresaid message without the the keyboard freeze up is by keep on trying to boot up and shut down until it works (but only work once, then hv to try again), but this is not a solution as if what if I wanted to have 2 OS?... I cant use the keyboard to choose either of the OS installed. I have tried to change the RAM, change keyboard, use the build in VGA, or even remove the motherboard from the ATX casing - result: still have the same problem. What should I do??.. I have look around the forum for answers but there isnt any (I hope I didnt miss any). Is there any problem with my motherboard, or its BIOS, or any of the harware compatibility or etc..... what actually can I do?
I do not dare to perform any BIOS update Unnecessary (it seems that many have problems with BIOS problem in this forum) and moreover i think my BIOS is the most up-to-date. I cant find any new version in the net. Anyway I will check this topic frequently as possible to hope for any solution. What is the best solutions?
    Thanks.

But the thing that makes me wonder is, my BIOS version is the latest but why this type of problem occurs??
What version of BIOS should I use?? Any recommendation ??
    Thanks.

    Hey,
I’m having some crazy issues with my PC.   If I hook anything to it like an extra HD or more Memory it will boot up and then shut down.  Even if I take the HD/Memory out it will still shut down.
    Thank you!!!!!!!

    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200 +
    Memory: DDR (400) 3200  512 MD Corsair

Thanks for trying to help.  The Motherboard/CPU is new.  The Hard Drive, DVD burner, and Floppy Drive came out of my Dell.
Right now my PC is doing well with the 512 Memory, DVD burner, and an 80 GIG H/D (I did re-format it).  If I try to install another H/D or if I try to add my other 256 DDR(this came out of my Dell as well)  the PC will boot up (I hear the post beep) but will not get into windows.  Sometimes it will tell me I am missing a file on Windows/system.  Sometimes after the BIOS info all I get is a blank screen.
(Sorry but I had to redo my PC AGAIN.That is why it has taken so long to respond)

  • X-Fi Popping on a NON-NFORCE Motherboard. UPD

I have read Creative's reports on crackling and popping of X-Fi sound cards on nForce4 motherboards. However, my card also pops, but I don't have an nForce motherboard.
Popping for me occurs only in games, such as UT2004, and Battlefield 2, especially when EAX or special X-Fi settings are enabled.
I have tried to lower the system volume and only increase my speaker volume physically, but that does not help.
My Motherboard is an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe, which is not an nForce motherboard, accoring to the list presented here:
    http://www.nvidia.com/content/motherboard_availability/us.asp
I just hope this gets out there. The popping issue certainly happens for me.
UPDATE: As I've mentioned in a post on page 2, I've found out that the only culprit in the popping sounds is CMSS-3D. When it is enabled, it causes problems in games. The 24-bit crystallizer does not cause ill effects.Message Edited by KentaroKaos on 08-24-2006 0:09 PM
UPDATE 2: Further testing proved to me that popping unfortunately STILL occurs. Disabling CMSS-3D only greatly reduces the frequency of popping.Message Edited by KentaroKaos on 08-24-2006 03:57 PM

Well.. I just tried disabling the 394 controller while it was in slot 4, that didn't work. Then I moved the card to slot 5, and I still get popping in UT2004.. but it might have been greatly reduced/eliminated in BF2... I don't know if that's just my imagination though. Also tried disabling the controller while it was in slot 5, and there's no difference. The popping only occurs when playing games, and the card mode is in Game mode.
I'm thinking, UT2004 has always had problems with EAX, so maybe that game will always pop/crackle. I'm going to do some more testing in BF2 and Doom 3.
    Any other suggestions, btw?
