Help on Livecycle/DSN...API or some type of Active X solution to help making connection
I have a solution that I'm trying to come up with.
LiveCycle is a relatively handy tool for automating input from ODBC data
sources to download to forms
What we would like to do is automate the process of setting up the DSN used
by LiveCycle and automate the process of making the connection to that DSN
to populate the fields in the forms. Automating the DSN setup is done. But
what I'm looking for is an API or some type of Active X solution to help
with making the connection, populating the forms using LiveCycle and
printing the PDF output file. Can you help me with this?
Currently I'm using LiveCycle Designer 8.0 as part of the Adobe Acrobat
suite. Can I use this, or do I need to look at a different software package?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide me with.
Hiho Ashley,
Iam sorry that I can´t answer your question about the Active-X-Stuff and I truely doubt, that you will look in this thread again. But Iam interested in your solution for automated build of an DSN. Is it within the PDF-File, so not every user wanting the the PDF to be filled have to settle up an extra connection? And does it work, if the user has no permission to make a DSN on his own?
Hope, someone can reply
Greetings

Get All group from LCES using Livecycle java API
Hello ,
Can anyone told me how i can retrieve all the groups that exist in my livecyle using JAVA API.
Some method who return all groups ??
Thanks!First Thank you for your answer
I tried this part
//Set connection properties required to invoke LiveCycle ES
Properties connectionProps = new Properties();
connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_DEFAULT_EJB_ENDPOINT, "jnp://test:1099");
connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_TRANSPORT_PROTOCOL,Service ClientFactoryProperties.DSC_EJB_PROTOCOL);
connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_SERVER_TYPE, "JBoss");
connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_CREDENTIAL_USERNAME, "administrator");
connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_CREDENTIAL_PASSWORD, "password");
ServiceClientFactory scf = ServiceClientFactory.createInstance(connectionProps);
DirectoryManager directoryManager = new DirectoryManagerServiceClient(scf);
PrincipalSearchFilter psf = new PrincipalSearchFilter();
psf.setPrincipalType(Principal.PRINCIPALTYPE_GROUP); //Recommended - refines the search to a User or Group
psf.setRetrieveOnlyActive(); // Recommended - returns only ative users/groups and not obsolete/deleted users/groups
List<Principal> resultList = directoryManager.findPrincipals(psf);
System.out.println("Done");
and when I check the result of my list I find incomprehensible informations.
So when I debug the code , my list contains little information.
NB : my LDAP contains hundreds of groups.
Any suggestion

aI assume here that your application is deployed on a different physical machine of where LCES is deployed and running.
Do the following test:
- Say that LCES is deployed on machine1 and your application is deployed on machine2. Ping machine1 from machine2 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine1 from machine1 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
- Ping machine2 from machine1 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine2 from machine2 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
Usually this kind of error would happen if your servers have internal and external ip addresses. -
My iTunes won't update, it starts to install then just says it can't. I decided to try uninstall it but it won't even uninstall anymore, there is some type of ERROR going on. I tried to just install iTunes from the website and that won't even work. I'm using a Windows Vista.

Hide some types of links in Panel Links.
Is it possible to add a filter on a list of links (Links Panel)?
I add an observer on kDocBoss.
In the Update function, I do not know how to retrieve the contents of the list (kLinksListWidgetID) to hide some types of links.
Do you have some ideas.

A ALV with some editable fields which have dictionary search help
Hi all:
There is a requirement to implement an ALV with some editable fields which have dictionary search help, do you have any idea?
thank you very muchHi - yes it can be done.
1st in your object select the component SALV_WD_TABLE (ALV component) * do all the bindings of your component to your VIEW, Component usage interface, etc.
When you are declaring your context node attributes if you add a TYPE Data element that has a search help bind to the data element it will be accessible in your ALV or in the Attribute there's a INPUT HELP that option that you can add the search help there but you need to have your ALV input enable
for example:
data: lr_input_field Type Ref To cl_salv_wd_uie_input_field,
lt_column Type salv_wd_t_column_ref,
ls_colum Type salv_wd_s_column_ref,
lv_value Type Ref To cl_salv_wd_config_table,
l_col_name type string,
lr_cmp_usage Type Ref To if_wd_component_usage,
lo_interfacecontroller Type Ref To iwci_salv_wd_table.
lr_cmp_usage = wd_this->wd_cpuse_alv( ). *ALV is the name you enter for your component usage when declaring component SALV_WD_TABLE at the beginning.
if lr_cmp_usage->has_active_component( ) IS INITIAL.
lr_cmp_usage->create_component( ).
endif.
lo_interfacecontroller = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv( ). *once again your ALV name
lv_value = lo_interfacecontroller->get_model( ).
lt_columns = lv_value->if_salv_wd_column_settings~get_columns( ).
Loop at lt_columns into ls_column.
l_col_name = ls_column-r_column->get_id( ).
create object lr_input_field
exporting
value_fieldname = l_col_name.
ls_column-r_column->set_cell_editor( value = lr_input_field ). *this will made all your columns input fields
endloop.
hope this help!

Assign Swtich Port Descriptions based on CDP, LLDP, or some type of Hostname Information
Hey guys,
I was wondering, is there a way to automatically change/assign the port Descriptions on my Cisco switches based upon information pulled from CDP or LLDP, or some type of hostname, that will go out, pull what device is plugged into that port, and insert description information about that device into the Port Description for that particular port that the device is plugged into?
Thank you for your help!
MichaelGood question!
You can do this with an eem applet policy.
below is a link that discusses it.
https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/100791/automatically-set-port-descriptions
hope this helps,
if so, please rate.

Cannot type password or anything in the help search bar
Just recently, after the 10.5.2 upgrade and the Leopard Graphics update, when my Powerbook is in sleep mode and it starts up, the password prompt box is displayed, as normal, but not it will not let me type anything in the password box. There are no characters displayed, numbers or letters. Something then cycles through and it goes back to sleep. The only way I can get around this is to bring it out of sleep and kill the power, to have it restart.
To see if I needed a software update, I did a search update and found an Airport update. When I tried to install the update after downloading, I was prompted for my Admin password, AND THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURED, only this time the update program would crash.
I then went to do a search in the help bar and again, I could not type anything in the search word section.
So basically, everything functions properly with the computer (I can type in Word, Mail, Safari, etc...), it's just when I am prompted for the Admin password, or search through HELP or Spotlight, no keystrokes are displayed or recognized.
I did extract some data from one of the crash reports that was sent to Apple:
