  • Help with movie files

I searched for an answer to my problem and couldn't find one...
I am trying to put 6 short mpg movie files into my iDVD project. I know you can't use mpeg video, I used Quicktime to convert the mpeg video to .mov files and lost my audio. I need to be able to put these files into my project with the audio, can someone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

I figured it out on my own, thanks anyways.
I used MPEG streamclip to convert to AVI files, and it didn't butcher my audio. Turns out they were MPEG-1 muxed files, I had to demux them.

  • Mpeg2 issue ---- muxed files

I'm having an issue with my Quicktime Pro with the MPEG2 plugin.
When I open this file format: MPEG2 Muxed, 480 x 360, 29.97 FPS, it plays the first few seconds then freezes the frame. The audio still goes on but I have no picture.
Now on the website for the MPEG2 plugin, it says that QT will play MPEG2 files muxed and all, but it's not for some reason ^_^ And also I want to pull those files into iMovie HD (iLife 05) and it doesn't want to pull in the files either.
I have found that Toast will actually make me a DVD no questions asked, but I'm looking to edit the videos. They play in VLC fine and will transfer over to MGEG4 alright, from VLC, but the more I step on the footage and compress and recompress, the crappier my video looks on the TV.
Can anyone help me find out how to get my stuff to play or be able to edit with-out all this recompression? Right now I have to convert to .mp4, insert into iMovie, fix, export to iDVD and compress back into an MPEG2 DVD friendly. Or....go from .mpg to BitVice and try to edit in iMovie with .m2v when it just mysteriously doesn't want to work this time with .mp4.
I'm getting a little frustrated! Can you please help? Thank you!!

What kind of editing do you wish to do? If all you need is limited editing capabilities (e.g., trimming segments, cropping and/or scaling, adjusting the volume, brightness, contrast, and/or saturation), then a free application like MPEG Streamclip (woring in conjunction with the MPEG-2 component which you already have) may be all you need. Note however, that if you wish to work entirely withing the MPEG "muxed" file format, you will be limited to just trimming your segments and saving them. Other editing capabilities mentioned are usually performed as part of a conversion process. If you wish to perform more complex edits, apply special effects and or mix the media with phtographs, music, add transitions and/or fades, etc,. then you can use this application to convert both audio and video to either a continuous DV stream (compatible with the current version of iMovie) or segmented DV streams (compatible with older versions of iMovie).

  • MPEG1 muxed files

I have music files that are MPEG1 muxed files, but I don't know how to separate the video and audio.
I have Windows XP, so FFmpeg and BBDemux wont work.
I've tried using some softwares such as DGIndex and Videora, but still wont work.
    What should i do?

if your trying to convert videos then the video format only supprted by the ipod is .mov or .mp4 no other format is supported by the ipod. To convert the video successfuully the best results for windows users hasbenn using videora.
    Remember:
this software is not supported by apple so with any support or questions you have go to their support forums for help not here. All the links are below and this is a good solution for windows users.

  • Exporting Muxed Files in Quicktime Pro 7 w/ MPEG-2 Component

I have .mpg files I need to be able to get into iDVD. They are MPG-2 muxed files. I have quicktime pro and the mpeg-2 component. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. Everyway I try either fails halfway through or I get no audio. I've trying to convert them to Mpeg-4. The answer is probably easy but I am new to Mac. any help would be great.
    thanks

As you have discovered, QT does not support the export of sound from muxed mpeg files. Fortunately, this freeware will export to several formats. It also allows you to do some editing of mpegs without re-encoding if that is desired: Mpeg StreamClip

  • MPEG1 Muxed file conversion

    Hello!
Can anybody recomend what I should be converting MPEG1 Muxed files (from a Sony DSC-W30 camera) to to use with imovie? I have been making MPEG-4 on Streamclip and it seems to work well. Just wondering if there is something quicker/better/faster I should be using/doing? Thanks in advance for any help!!

OK, I bucked up and purchased MPEG-2 Component. Now I get this message when I try to drag the MP4 file into my iMovie 6:
While I consider the MPEG-2 Playback component a good investment for a number of reasons, they have nothing to do with the playback or import of MP4 content. The MP4 file container is associated with MPEG4/AAC and H.264/AAC files -- neither of which require the MPEG-2 component which is for use with MPEG-2 (MPEG, M2V, VOB, etc.) compressed files.
"The file could not be imported: The file can't be imported; QT couldn't parse it: -2048"... What does this mean?
Error code -2048 (NoMovieFound) is normally associated with a corrupted file or improperly terminated file. For instance, prematurely closing a file while it is being written (i.e., power outage, "brown out", forced closing of the application, etc.) may prevent the writing of a valid end to the file. In addition, some applications (like Windows) write "open-ended" files which QT applications consider invalid. (Files indiscriminately downloaded from the Internet frequently have this problem.) In any case, without a valid termination or known "end of the data" a movie file will not be recognized valid and usually return a -2048 error or some sort of "Not a Movie" message.

  • Can't get real time playback with Cineform 3D muxed files

    Hey all,
AE user for 20 years but new to PP.  Getting it setup for a sterescopic editing system.
Problem: 3D (1920 x 1080 29.97) fies created in FirstLight...won't play in RT in PP or Firstlight for that matter.
I am feeding an external passive stereo monitor via HDMI 1.4.  I have MPE enabled.  I am using a Cineform preset sequence.  I have a fairly fast raid for the media.  But it won't play in RT.  Even lowering the resolution doesn't seem to help much.   Is there something I am missing?
While it could be a hardware problem, I doubt it.  Because when I play the 3D muxed files in Windows Media Player, and drag it over to my 3D external monitor, it plays just fine...like silk in RT stereo.  (minus the metadata of Cineform of course)  But in PP or Firstlight...stutters.
BTW, is there window inside AE that lets you know the actual framerate you're getting on playback, like AE?
Please, any suggestions would be helpful...this new 3D edit system is no good to me now.  Thanks in advance.

Last I have heard there is a bug in Cineform's preset/player right now where it is not using the acceleration at all inside of Adobe. That was with files that were converted from Red to Cineform however the performance even at 1080 was horrible. Cineform seemed to process the material at the resolution it was rather than what is was set to scale. I would not be surprised if the 3D playback is doing the same thing. You need to contact Cineform on this one. If it's happening in First Light then the issue is with Cineform's player.
BTW the work around in 2D is to switch to a custom preset and use the Adobe I-Frame algorithm for preview. However I doubt that will work for the 3D material.

  • Can some help with CR2 files ,Ican`t see CR2 files in adobe bridge

can some help with CR2 files ,I can`t see CR2 files in adobe bridge when I open Adobe Photoshop cs5- help- about plugins- no camera raw plugins. When i go Edit- preference and click on camera raw  shows message that Adobe camera raw plugin cannot be found

That's strage. Seems that the Camera Raw.8bi file has been moved to different location or has gone corrupt. By any chance did you try to move the camera raw plugin to a custom location?
Go To "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats" and look for Camera Raw.8bi file.
If you have that file there, try to download the updated camera raw plugin from the below location.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5371&fileID=5001
In case  you ae not able to locate the Camera Raw.8bi file on the above location, then i think you need to re-install PS CS5.

Setting options for rejecting a call  By default, when you reject an incoming
call, the caller is sent to voicemail. You can
change this setting so that, in addition to
sending the caller to voicemail, a text
    message opens. This message contains
default text and is addressed to the caller
so that you can send the message right
away. You can also change the default text
    of the message.
1 Press Start and select Settings.2 On the Personal tab, select Phone .3 Select the Advanced tab.4 To turn on the text message feature, check the Reject call with text
    message box.
5 (Optional) To change the content of the message, select the text in the box and
enter the text you want.6 Press OK .

  • Help using jar file!

    Help using jar file!
    Hello
I have created a jar file by using
    jar cvmf Manifest.txt myjar.jar 1.class Mydirectory
In 1.java file :I have used
    JEditorPane editor;
    editor.setPage(getClass().getResource("/Mydirectory/default.htm"));
If I am only giving myjar.jar file to the client without Mydirectory then also it is working fine by showing default.htm in JeditorPane.
But my problem is I want to use
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c start IEXPLORE"+targetstr) ;
targetstr will be the filename with path of the default.htm
If I am giving myjar.jar file with Mydirectory to the client it is working but I don't want to give Mydirectory to the client .
    What should I do?
Is there any solution for this?
Using another jar file which will include mydirectory can solve this problem?
Is there any othe concept in java so that I wll be able to hide Mydirectory from client?
    Please help.

It seems like you could extract the .htm file from the jar, either with Runtime.exec or using the Jar API classes.

Where can I get help re: a file missing from Pages in iCloud?

If the file was also on a mac, then there was a local copy of the file in ~/Library/Mobile Documents.  If you use Time Machine or any other backup program on your computer, then try restoring the file(s).  Similarly the same thing would be done on a PC, but I'm not sure where the icloud local copies are kept.

  • Large file handling tips Help for illustrator file larger than 3 gb

Can anyone provide advice for large file handling tips.  Help for illustrator file larger than 3 gb ie how often, when, and should I clear the clipboard? are here other tips?
    Thanks,
    Gavin

My key tip is to EXPECT corruption. Keep every save separately so you can go back before damage (which might not be visible). Don't just keep a single old file or rely on daily backups.
