Help on MVC programming model

Hey,
I've searched the web over and over on MVC models, and so far what I can find on MVC models is abstract texts without hands-on examples.
Some do have examples, but they are scattered, and I get confused.
I've looked over MVC on Java site, and kinda got the picture, yet also got overwhelmed by all the info.
Is MVC something the programmer has to do, or is it more or less automated by an IDE ? As I understand so far MVC is a product of conscious programming, and there are no automated tools.., yet some websites sound that there are tools that help you build in MVC.
Is there a hands-on tutorial or a simple example on what MVC actually is ?
thanks !
Dennis

  • JSP Programming model for MI application development

    Hi All,
    While we are using JSP programming model for developing MI applications, there are some Pros and Cons for it.
    one of the Cons is :-
    1. JSP requires more system resources ( local web server)
    Any idea what exactly does it means ?
    2. When we use AWT as the programming model, do we need any additional resources to run this application ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Neha Mahanty

    Hi Neha,
    there are two different runtime options in MI - JSP and AWT - that you already mentioned corredtly.
    Depending what dev model you choose, you have to install the related runtime. That is a logical step. Well, if you are aware, JSP pages are displayed in a browser and are hosted on a server. In our case MI client JSP runtime is that server and especially if you run the application on a small device like a PDA, you will see significant performance issues. The screen response time is something around 2-5seconds. this is due to the messages and the processing time of the different components.
    If you use AWT on the other hand, you are running it in the MI AWT client runtime and so all runs as a single application. This has a better screen response time.
    So from this perspective the decision should clearly be the AWT component. BUT!!!
    If you ever have developed an AWT app, you have noticed, that it is not that easy to develop tables for example in AWT. It is possible, but it is getting complex and slow soon. So depending on the complexity of your screens it can be soon, that JSP itself has a faster rendering time then an AWT application. And because JSP screen development is taht simple, most apps are JSP apps at the moment.
    With MI7.1 this will change. You have the possibility to use eSWT and WebDynpro for UI development as well, and so the development of MI applicartions that use les system performance for the runtime itself will be more easy.
    Hope this helps!

    Oliver

  • Online Help for Common Programs Will Not Open in Firefox

    Many of my programs, such as Ultradefrag and Audacity (to name two), present their Help guides and User Manuals using a browser. I have Firefox set as my default browser. Every time I try to use help with these programs, I get the very frustrating message "Firefox is already running, but ...". I cannot use help without killing firefox and losing all of my browsing sessions. There simply MUST be a way around this. I do not experience this major problem with Internet Explorer. I'm using Firefox 14.0.1 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.

    You can try creating a a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles new profile]. Once it has been created you can use the '''Default User''' (the current profile) profile for the regular browsing, and choose the newly created dummy profile for external programs that need it.

    You can't really believe that his brother did this
    for him...I did miss that copyright line at the beginning when
    I first looked it over, but you know, if it had been
    his brother, I'd be kinda impressed. This wasn't a
    25 line program. It actually would have required
    SOME thought. I doubt my brother woulda done that
    for me (notwithstanding the fact that I wouldn't need
    help for that program, and my brother isn't a
    programmer).I originally missed the comments at the top but when I saw the complexity of what was written then I knew that it was too advanced for a beginner and I relooked through the code and saw the comments.

    Hi,
    In case if you want to use in parameters statement, then we can use the suffix MATCHCODE OBJECT syntax.
    Eg.
    report abc.
    parameters : a(10) type c matchcode object ZBELNR.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need help writing host program using LabView.

    Need help writing host program using LabView.
    Hello,
    I'm designing a HID device, and I want to write a host program using National Instrument's LabView. NI doesn't have any software support for USB, so I'm trying to write a few C dll files and link them to Call Library Functions. NI has some documentation on how to do this, but it's not exactly easy reading.
    I've written a few C console programs (running Win 2K) using the PC host software example for a HID device from John Hyde's book "USB by design", and they run ok. From Hyde's example program, I've written a few functions that use a few API functions each. This makes the main program more streamlined. The functions are; GetHIDPath, OpenHID, GetHIDInfo, Writ
    eHID, ReadHIC, and CloseHID. As I mentioned, my main program runs well with these functions.
    My strategy is to make dll files from these functions and load them into LabView Call Library Functions. However, I'm having a number of subtle problems in trying to do this. The big problem I'm having now are build errors when I try to build to a dll.
    I'm writing this post for a few reasons. First, I'm wondering if there are any LabView programmers who have already written USB HID host programs, and if they could give me some advice. Or, I would be grateful if a LabView or Visual C programmer could help me work out the programming problems that I'm having with my current program. If I get this LabView program working I would be happy to share it. I'm also wondering if there might already be any USB IHD LabView that I could download.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Search help in dialog program

    Hi all,
    Fora search help in dialog program.
    I HAVE TO GET SEARCH FOR A FIELD ZID ON APARTICULAR SCREEN BASED ON DATA, MODIFIED BY AND A PLANT..
    I HAVE A RECORD IN ONE MY ZTABLE.
    I HAVE TO GET THAT BY SEVERAL SEARCH PARAMETERS SAY BY DATE , MODIFIED BY,PLANT ETC.
    each user has been assigned a plant , so in search he has to get records belonging to that plant.
    so i cannot include plant in my search help, because user may type in other plant.
    so i tried two ways
    1) i created a search help in se11 including the plant field again the problem arises if the user types a different plant.
    so i want to know whether we can apassa value to plant field in search help(i.e the plant assigned to the user),
    i have this kind of thing in some standard t -code i.e especially for searching material , the plant field in search help was filled by one plant.
    this should be one of the solution
    2)I tried to write a code in pov of program code.
    this is how my code looks.
    DATA : BEGIN OF ITAB OCCURS 0.
         INCLUDE  STRUCTURE ZXXX.
    DATA : END OF ITAB.
    ITAB HAS FIELDS ID, DATE , MODIFIEDBY , PLANT.
    USER_PLANT = 'ABC'.
    SELECT * FROM ZXXX INTO TABLE ITAB WHERE PLANT = USER_PLANT.
    CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
      EXPORTING
      DDIC_STRUCTURE         = ' '
        RETFIELD               = 'ZID'
      PVALKEY                = ' '
      DYNPPROG               = ' '
      DYNPNR                 = ' '
      DYNPROFIELD            = ' '
      STEPL                  = 0
        WINDOW_TITLE           = 'TEST'
      VALUE                  = ' '
        VALUE_ORG              = 'S'
      MULTIPLE_CHOICE        = ' '
      DISPLAY                = ' '
      CALLBACK_PROGRAM       = ' '
      CALLBACK_FORM          = ' '
      TABLES
        VALUE_TAB              = ITAB
      FIELD_TAB              =
        RETURN_TAB             = IT_RETURN4
      DYNPFLD_MAPPING        =
    EXCEPTIONS
      PARAMETER_ERROR        = 1
      NO_VALUES_FOUND        = 2
      OTHERS                 = 3
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
            WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
              clear itab.
              read table it_return4 index 1.
                ZXXX-ZID = it_return4-fieldval.
    endif.
    THIS WORKS FINE , BUT HE CANNOT SEARCH BASED ON DATE AND MODIFIEDBY
    ALL i want is is get a pop up window and should be able to search based on data and modifiedby for a predifined plant.
    I hope iam clear.
    Thanks

  • Help with a Program I am writing!  Please!

    Hello All,
    This is my first post...I hope to find some answers to my program I am writing! A couple things first - I am 17, and have designed a comp. science class for myself to take while a senior in high school, since there was not one offered. My end of the 2nd term project is to write a program that encompasses the information I have learned about for the past two terms. I know the very basics, if that. Please help!
    My program involves the simple dice throwing program, 'Dice Thrower' by Kevin Boone. The full text/program write out can be found at:
    http://www.kevinboone.com/PF_DiceThrower-java.html
    I am hoping to add a part to this program that basically tells the program if the dice show doubles, pop up a little GUI window that says "You are a Winner! You Got Doubles!"
    I was thinking as I finished chapter 7 in my text book, that either an 'if/else' or 'switch' statement might be the right place to start.
    Could someone please write me a start to the program text that I need to add to 'Dice Thrower', or explain what I need to do to get started! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

    I know this seems like a lot of errors, but believe it or not, I actually had it up in the high teens and was able to fix some of them myself from going by previous examples, as well as looking things up in my text book. If anyone has any suggestions concerning the syntax errors of the code, please please let me know and I will work my hardest to fix them...thank you all so much for helping.

    PARAMETER :  p_carrid TYPE scarr-carrid
                               MATCHCODE OBJECT z01_carrid,
    with all three field but it fetch only carrid ...

    Hi Chintan,
    For such types of requirements you can use this Function Module:
    F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST.
    Use this functiom modue under AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON HELP-REQUEST FOR P_CARRID.
    With this function module, you can fill your remainng parameters : P_carriername and booking also.
    Sample Code:
         DATA : TMP_RETURN_TAB  LIKE TABLE OF DDSHRETVAL,                                TMP_RETURN      LIKE DDSHRETVAL,
                    TMP_FIELD       TYPE  DFIES-FIELDNAME.
    CASE AKIND.
       WHEN '1'.
         TMP_FIELD = 'AENNR'.
       WHEN '2'.
         TMP_FIELD = 'VBELN'.
       WHEN '3'.
         TMP_FIELD = 'ZZTEHAI'.
      ENDCASE.
      CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
       EXPORTING
         RETFIELD               = TMP_FIELD
         WINDOW_TITLE           = ATITEL
         VALUE_ORG              = 'S'
       TABLES
         VALUE_TAB              = ATABLES
         RETURN_TAB             = TMP_RETURN_TAB
       EXCEPTIONS
         PARAMETER_ERROR        = 1
         NO_VALUES_FOUND        = 2
         OTHERS                 = 3.
      IF SY-SUBRC =  0.
        READ TABLE TMP_RETURN_TAB INDEX 1 INTO TMP_RETUN.
        AVALUE = TMP_RETURN-FIELDVAL.
      ENDIF.
    Jus analyze this code, you can get ur requirement done.

  • Please help find the program

    Please help find the program to block unwanted number, call and SMS, that not all block number ,but  the number on which you want to.

    Which part of "The 5310 is just a java phone that cannot support applications like this." did you not understand?
    If you want to achieve any form of blocking at all, it won't be with that phone. Your operator may be able to help by putting a block in place on their end, though, but I doubt it.
