i got a nokia n97 with loads of free memeory and space but when i take photos i can not view them and my music i cant play that anymore, this has only been since friday when i come to change ringtome or wall paper it says system error,

If you cannot update through ovisuite,nsu or ota - you will have to either wait or ask a Nokia care point if they can update it for you. - They might do it, they might not.

Help with N97

I am so confused right now with my N97.
Yesterday i was scrolling through my contacts list and noticed new numbers that i didn't recognise.
After looking into it further i noticed that these numbers were from my friends contact list and they had just appeared on mine!!!
I gave my friend my old N95 handset about 4 weeks ago.
How can this happen? He hasn't sent me the numbers. Its left me very baffled!!!

Probably somebody playing games you mate. That's been done to me before where my friends switched my contacts numbers about. I went to phone my mums, but ended up calling an old girlfriend.

Hey guys im thinking about getting a sim free N97 but the problem i am facing is that im still in use of my iphone 3g contract and i have a long time left! So im planning on putting my iphone 3g contract sim in the N97 i wa sjust wondering if this will work? and secondly will i still get my 3g internet free on the n97? if not... how much does it cost anyway? if anyone could help me out id be very grateful

Hi,
As far as im aware your contract status will work in any phone that your sim goes into. My partner broke her new phone awhile ago and even after being repaired she stuck to her previous old phone with the sim card and has then same allowance with mins etc as before

Help Nokia N97 to answer calls

Dear,
The query is regarding my nokia N97 and what happens to me is that when I call is blocked and answered by sliding your finger green bar, talk and end the call are the two pins and the phone is blocked off and only solution lighting.
This happens not always load the new Firm and 20 .... and goes well.
It may be the sim?
I ask for help.

Help! N97 power cycling

Hello all. All was going well with my N97 until today.
I decided that I needed more memory on the phone, so decided to return to factory setting to clean it up. I backed up my contacts settings and messages and did the factory restore. All good til now. Then I tried restoring my backup to the phone and the phone crashed. It will no longer turn on. it just keeps lighting up for a split second, beeping and then swithching off again. Software updater will not recognise it.
Help!!

Help my N97 has a mind of its own!!!

Ive had the n97 for a bout 3 weeks and did the software update 2 days a go, the phone will not do anything its told, its basiclay usless. it chooses:
what apps it wants to open
if i want to try and txt it and i press a it will pick a completly different letter
if i try to scroll it rolls and rolls and then stops randomly
i cant access my pictire or my music at all
the internet app wont respond the phone wanst to use it and thats when im not usein the phone,
half the time the phone touch screen wont even respond.
any ideas ????
ive never let the phone get wet and it has a protective case on as well.
also ive tried 10 time plus and only got through to nokia once and then they cut me off .
please help if anyone has any advice.

Souns like your touchscreen may need calibrating.
To calibrate your touch screen:
Menu->Settings->Phone->Touch Input->Touch screen calibration
Then follow the instructions on the screen.
It's not surprising that you didn't notice this setting because it is last on the list in the Touch input section and you have to scroll down to see it.
After you calibrate your screen, see if you continue to have problems.

I NEED HELP FOR N97

Im a new user of N97 and i really need help!
My probems are...
1. all the installer of downloaded games and themes were save on my memory card but i cannot installed it and the file manager of this phone only views the details, rename, copy, move, delete, delete all and sort are the only option i've seen. what can i do
2. where can i found the spec of 32G indicated on of this N97? how can i used that?
3. why is it that when attempting to open and to use the WLAN, SYNC., Voice cmd., , Dev. mgr, Sett.Wizard, etc. the message that my N97 displayed was "CHECK OPERATOR SERVICE" inspite that i have my prepaid load.
4. how can i used my WLAN connection for me to surf the net? do i need to contact the smart wireless to help me and do the GPRS installation?
I REALLY NEED HELP! I'M IN TROUBLE WITH MY NEWLY PHONE N97. ANYONE COULD HELP ME PLEASE? I JUST REALLY NEED YOUR HELP......

Help with N97 and Access points after V20 upgrade

Hi Guys,
I'm hoping someone can help me - I have an 505 uk unit and have changed to a generic euro product code to get the V20 software ( as theres a 2 week wait minimum for the network to release its custome version ) and its working brilliantly - except - in connections all my accesspoints have gone - I now show 13 uncategorised access points which I cant expand or open and it wont let me delete the lot as it says its protected Anyone able to sort this out and tell me what to do so I can get back to Internet and Contract WAP etc... destinations?

Hi Alex,
I am not sure what kind of applications are preloaded in your location. I suppose the problem you faced is unable to delete certain definitions under the Destinations setting?
If a hard reset is not an option (not for me as I have purchased apps from the OVI store), I would create a dummy Destination to house all these unwanted definitions. That way, so long as the default connection does not utilize this dummy Destination, I think you are OK. Hope this helps.

whenever i send or recieve SMS, my phone appear "Memory Full" though i delete all message and change the memmory in use is Mass memory. Plz help me...

HELP PLEASE n97 connectivity with pc

Hi.I just got an n97 and i'm trying to connect it with ovi suite to restore my security copy but it doesn´t work.
It says that my device is connected in the file transfer mode but I choose pc suite mode on the phone all the time...
I have restarted the pc and the n97 and it's always the same.
when i go to connection wizard it says that he can´t connect to do all that stuff I already did...however my computer detects the phone without problems and the files appear in 'my computer'
What should I do?

Currently, I believe the N900 operates in tablet mode landscape and phone mode only in portrait. Like the missing MMS feature, maybe Nokia may be able to fix this in a later firmware update. I read somewhere that they were more recently working on software stability and performance. New features were definitely for a later release, which personally, is the best philosophy in my mind. I think they had their fingers burned by the N97.
EDIT: Just read the specs and I didn't see a mention of an accelerometer in the N900 so from that I can't assume it has one. http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/specifications/

Connection Setup Help For N97 :(

Hi guys,
Had the N97 since its release, had no problems with it really just the odd issue now and again.
But for a few days now the phone just wont stay connected to the net to satisfy the Widgets & Email retrieval, when using facebook i will be given 6-7 script errors before it updates enough to display anything. the weather widget just refuses to find my location a OVI will not upload any more and now i am getting a connection error popup maybe 4-5 times when i return to homepage.
I had the settings in a simple set-up that has worked for weeks but now these problems have made me factory reset the thing, now this worked for a day, no problems or issues plus it was super fast but today it has reverted to being non functional
Does anyone know of a working set-up for heavy use ? after the reset i am now without any settings in either WAP or Email sections just the access points i created in internet
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Matt,
My current firmware is vodafone V12.0.026, have deleted all widgets and re downloaded them from the store & updater as suggested and found that the weather widget connected ASAP using GPS & 3.5G and has been working good, facebook and the other are holding fine, software updater is saying all i have to download is nokia messaging which i am avoiding due to problems i had with it.
Everything seems to be working well atm.

Browser: mini.opera.com and downloade opera mini. Or you could try BOLT. The browser that comes with blackberry. I tried it today, and the updated verion is really ok!
And It might be my bad english, but have you downloaded media (like music and movies) or downloaded some app called the media? If you've downloaded music, open your musicplayer and choose to update music library. It will find your songs. Or you could go in programs- office - and look in your different storages: like C: E: and F: if you have set in a memory card. Sorry if i did misunderstand

Touchscreen help with N97 Mini

Hi,
i'm having problems with my N97Mini, the touchscreen has completely stopped working and now i have to send it back to Nokia to be fixed, i wanted to check that i've all my contacts saved to my sim card before doing so, but i cant use the screen...
i'm pretty much just wondering if there were any key shortcuts to help click on "ok, back, done" buttons?
