Help on Netweaver

Hi,
I want to install Sap Netweaver slim edition. Can anyone please guide me if it requres SAP installation or can i directly install sneak preview. Kindly suggest me.

Hi Ram,
You need not install the SAP for the installation of SAP Netweaver sneak preview.
There are some System requirements which are required to be fulfilled. Please have a look to the following link.

Please note the Slim Edition System Requirements mentioned in the link:
1) Operating System: Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3); Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 1) or Windows Server 2003
2) NTFS-File systems
3) Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher
4) 512 MB RAM minimum, 1 GB RAM recommended
5) Intel Pentium III/1.1 GHz or higher (or compatible)
6) 2 GB hard disc space recommended (includes space required during install)
Also you need Java SDK which you can download this from the site mentioned:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html.

Open your NWDS, go to Help/About.
Most likely you will see something like:
Version: 7.0.11
If version is 7.0.X, your NWDS is NetWeaver 7.0, formerly known as NetWeaver 2004s.
Most likely there will be no problem running examples from NW 2004, earlier version.
Just make sure your JDK you have on your dev computer has similar version as JDK on the target server, if you are building locally and deploying your application to another server.
Post if you have a different version.
We will guess what NW version it belongs to.

Help: SAP Netweaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version, Progess 22%, no response.

As you can see, the installer stays on Progress 22% without any response, using no CPU or Harddisk resources, Now I'm quite confused, could any one help me out?

ı'm just beginning sap netweaver 7.01 trial version.downloaded it from www.sdn.sap.com.ı followed everything step by step from link of start.html.
during installation first step sapmmcX86u.msi from <extract_folder>\sapmmc.not problem. second step setup.exe from <extract_folder>\image but error

Installing Help on netweaver 2004S

Hi
I installed Netweaver sneak preview version on my PC. It is working fine. But only problem is when i press F1 or F4 i am not getting help.
Can anyone please help me to solve this?

Hi Madhu,
             The help file location needs to be specified in the system for it to work. This is done using transaction SR13 in the ABAP system. Also note that you need the files locally on the PC or you can point to http://help.sap.com path sepecifc to your product version. For Netweaver please perform the following configuration.
1) Call transaction SR13
2) Select the tab PlainHtmlHTTP
3) Create a variant:
     In the plaftorm section enter Win32_S,
     In the Area enter IWBHELP
     Enter http://help.sap.com under Server names
     Under path enter saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata
     Select language as EN and mark as default.

When i have click on Netweaver then It gives two options NW 2004 or NW 2004s. So please send me direct link for download if possible. It will be great help from your side and highly appreciated.

Help on Netweaver Trial on Linux using maxDB: calling transaction db13

Hello Everybody,
as mentioned above, I'm using Netweaver Trail (ABAP and Java) on Linux (centos). The database is MaxDB. When I start transaction code db13 (DBA Planning Calendar) I'm getting the following error-message:
DBMRFC Function     : DBM_GETF
Command             : DBAHIST DATE=20070409
Error               : DBM Error
Return Code         :         -2
Error Message       : ERR_NEEDADMI: The operating system user
Does anybody know what to do?

Hi,
This is a very common error, usually run db connection test (db59) can tell you what's wrong.
ALso review note 588515, check your setup for database connection as database name & database server, connection id, etc. Most likely these are the problem.

I've read and tried this tutorial:

After User_A completes his task - User_B is unable to see it in his UWL.
I have retraced my steps and there is no step missing. Can someone point me to a solution please?

I could successfully deploy this tutorial, but I am not seeing task item in UWL for User_A.

Areas of JAVA in SAP.
1. WebDynpro JAVA.
2. Portal Development.
3. JCo ( JAVA Connector: To connect SAP and JAVA Applications)
But only java in SAP is not sufficient.
You need to know ABAP Programming Language which is a very basic in SAP. It is a back bone of SAP.
For Books i recommend the SAP Books for the relevant topics. For a eagle eye view go search and read the documents in http://help.sap.com

Downloading SAP-Help

Well, perhaps it is a repost, but I searched the forum and didn't find a suitable thread.
In the past I downloaded some PDF-Files from SDN, SAP-Help and so on, for example the "SAP NetWeaver Developers Guide - Running an Enterprise Portal" (Mai 2006). It includes all the chapter content from SAP-Help.
So I can search in the PDF and I have it full text indexed with some other Guides. As another point I can read it offline in train and at a customer, were I don't have access to the internet.
During the last months I recognized that many PDF documents become older and older but I cannot find new versions of it. So does anyone know a suitable resource to find these guides (extracts from Sap-Help) or does anyone have a trick how to create a PDF or something similar from Help-Entries?
I already tried out some web-page download tools, but they all haven't worked as I want: no pics, download of first level only or download of really toooo much(!) contet. I don't want to install the complete Help-Entries on my notebook, because Disk-Space is low and I only need some extracts (for example the chapter Running an Enterprise Portal).
Perhaps there will be a "create PDF"-function as it is at SAP-notes? Does anyone have informations if there is something like this planned?

There aren't many PDFs online at the moment, download with a web capture tool doesn't work at me (I tried really a lot tools) and I don't want to install the complete SAP-Help for NetWeaver from the Installation DVDs (more than 2 GB, I think).
Sorry for double post, but I am missing a move thread function
Next time I will look in all boards if there is a suitable forum.
