Help on opening memory access door on new 24" iMac- screw is really tight !

Trying to open the memory access door on my new 24" Intel iMac. It's the one with only one screw. Manual says to use a #2 Phillips but it looks like the assembler used a heavy duty high power screwdriver when it was built. Any tips on how to get the stupid screw out ? This is a really cheesy way of attaching the door. I'd think something that could be removed easier could have been designed.

The door was much better on the iMac G3 (slot-loading) models. A 10p/dime would do the job if you didn't have a big screwdriver:
Mine was tight so I found I had to brace the whole machine to get enough purchase to unscrew it.

I have a mid-2007 iMac with 1 GB of ram and i'm trying to replace it, but the memory-access door won't come off. i loosen the screw with a screw driver but it won't open and i don't know why. i want to upgrade to 4 GB.
is there some trick to opening it thats not stated in this article? please help me, i don't know what to do :-( i really need to get lion on this thing and can't do that without a RAM update.

Some times there's a bit of prying in order with a thin blade.

Memory Access Door

Greetings.
I recently had my Aluminum iMac's graphics card replaced after a graphics issue. However, the on site Apple technician, while putting the iMac back together, explained to me that he was unable to screw in the Memory Access Door. Apparently, there was, somehow, some superglue that leaked onto the black plastic surrounding the surrounding the screw helix. Even though the helix itself was not damaged or blocked, the black plastic was, as the technician said, basically cracked by the supposedly acidic superglue. I'm guessing the glue was put there by another Apple technician (who came to fix the iMac for another issue, months ago), or it came from the original Apple RAM (Just to deter suspicion, I would never apply SUPERGLUE on my own wonderful Macintosh). So now I don't have the door placed, but the iMac still works, contrary to the RAM-addition instructions. My question is: Is this kind of damage covered by AppleCare? Is it a wear and tear issue? A defect? etc.? Thanks in advance.

Memory access door won't come off!

I just got a lovely 4GB SDRAM combo and was raring to get it into my iMac when, d'oh, the access door won't unscrew! The screw turns, but hit a kink then keeps on turning without coming out.
Has anyone else had this problem? And hopefully had it resolved.

Agreed.
When I changed my memory I was a bit worried when the door did not just pop off after unscrewing. But all was well, i just need to get a thin blade screw driver (or knife) in the seam to pry off the panel. You should be able to do that with no problems.

Help me open a link in a new custom-sized window.

I know how to open a link in a new window target="_blank" but I can't figure out how to get the window to open to a custom-sized window.

1. You need to specify the correct path and extension. For example:
10.3.9:Users:username:Desktop:myFile.txt
2. You shouldn't need to use 'open for access' if you're only going to read the file.
I don't have any additional suggestions for your other script.

and it gives you a step by step on adding your account. However don't use the server port number they give you because it does not work. I followed the same steps without changing the number and it worked.
The problem I have is that I can not see the folders I created on my Verizon email account, when I open it on my iPad. I have called Verizon & gone to the Apple store and neither had an answer except to say it was the other's problem.

Hi. I am starting my first Blurb book and downloaded their Blurb ICC profile. I am using Photoshop Elements 7 to edit my photographs on my Windows PC.
When I select downloads, open with PSE 7, a window opens and says " Editor Photoshop 7 Cannot open Download / Blurb - ICC - profile icc because it is the wrong type of file". Any ideas would be appreciated. Terry

Color profiles are installed via your system's color mangement options. This has nothing to do with Elements as such. Copy the file into C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\Color or use the graphics settings for your monitor or your printer options to add it.

3210 all-in-one access door will not close

I opened the access door to my 3210 printer to change ink cartriges and now the door will not close. It seems to be locked or jammed in the open position. This is a first in all of the ink changes I have done. Help. Is there any way to get this unlocked?

Wanting to access iTunes library on our iMac from our Mac Book Pro - home sharing is switched on and can play both via Apple TV but how do I copy a playlist from the IMAC library to my library on the Mac book pro.

I had worked out how to play the itunes library as I did find that page but I can't copy anything.
As soon as I click on Music (from the shared library on the Library-pop-up-menu) I get my husbands library which is good and we can play it. But we cant figure out how to copy and cant do step 2 (as per below) as we can't find the "Show menu at the bottom of the iTunes window, choose “Items not in my library.” Any further advice?

Import items from other libraries using Home Sharing
Choose a computer on your Home Sharing network from the Library pop-up menu.The library loads and a list of categories appears.
Choose a category (Music, for example).
In the Show menu at the bottom of the iTunes window, choose “Items not in my library.”
Select the items you want to import, and click Import.

Ink cartridge access door is open

Photosmart 6525 only 1yr old and new ink cartridges put in, but error message on display screen says ink cartridge access door is open but the door is closed and will not clear out, unplugged and waited and still shows. Please help!

I see you are experiencing door open errors. I would like to help.
I would recommend removing the ink cartridges and closing the access door. Once the door is closed, I would recommend a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend following the steps in this document on A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays on the Control Panel. Although the title is different from the error you are experiencing, the steps should help resolve the issue.

That happens because photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo stream photos remain on your devices until deleted. When you enabled photo stream on your iPod 4, you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud. If you want to stream these older photos to your new iPod, you will have to create a shared photo stream on your old one that contains these photos (requires iOS 6 or higher) and invite yourself as a subscriber, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99.
