Help on Palm replicating with 9i Lite

Please help!!
I've been strugling with Oracle Lite and palm for over 3 weeks
with little success.
My actual status:
- Oracle 8i as database server on Windows NT
- Oracle 9iLite 5.0 server on a Windows 2000 machine
- Palm OS 3.5 with Emulator
- I'm using webtogo.exe, not any application servers.
- I found out that there are inumerous errors that the Packaging
wizard doesn't show, so now I only run the webtogo in debug mode
(-d)
- Looking at those errors, I have been able to create some
snapshots with success.
- When I sincronize with the palm, either by hotsync or by
mSync, I get some nonsense errors:
On Palm:
- Emulator memory errors
- Errors after mSync consolidates that don't have any reference
anywhere else, like -9025:0
On the webtogo console:
- I get the error ORA-00942 (view or table doesn't exist) quite
often
- I get the java null pointer exception quite oftenly
For 2 times, my replication process seemed to work. I tried some
very simple examples (1 table with 1 column). After replication,
the database was created and I could access the table data on
palm through mSQL and even see my data. When that happenned I
can replicate as many times as I want without a problem. After
that I removed the application and tried to recreate it with the
same parameters and it didn't work any more!!!
I had some conclusions of which I'm not so sure anymore:
1 - After publicating an application with the publication
wizard, I should wait until MGP completes a cycle before trying
to replicate
2 - I should include all fields of my snapshot, one by one,
instead of using *
3 - All the tables I'll replicate must be created with the
system user !!!
4 - After I delete an application, I'd better create a new
emulator session (in a palm that would mean a hard reset),
instead of believing that the sync process will erase the old
database properly.
5 - The Database name on the cliente must be filled, although
the webtogo server log doesn't say anything about it when I
publish the application.
My instincts tell me I should wait because there must be a patch
on the way. My problem is that I must deliver a project that's
complete, only lacking the replication part.
Any ( I really mean any ) kind of help would be very welcome,

It is a Palm OS issue. v5.1 is not supported until Olite 5.0.2.2.
If you have access to metalink, you can check if that version is posted.

X1 and USB Port Replicator with digital video - hangs system

Hi
with the X1 to help with docking it everyday at the office I have a USB Port replicator with digital video. I am not using the digital video but the USB ports, head phone and mics plus ethernet.
When I plug it in it detects it OK, I then installed the software. But after reboot it looks to stall when logging into windows, screen flickers back and forth and locks up the operating system. I unlplug it and reboot and window is working fine.
Note as I mentioned I am not using the digital output but instead using an external monitor via the display port on the back of the laptop.
Also its is very slow to boot (Lenovo bios splash screen is there for about a minute)
I have gone into the bios and turned off all other bootable devices just leaving the laptops hard drive.
As a work around I have removed the software and I am getting the basic functionality of the port replicator, but not the ethernet.
I have run the update manager but does not appear to show a need to update the drivers.

Hi, I have this same exact problem.
Video (anything from youtube to downloaded shows, movies) will freeze for 5-7 seconds at a time. The sound continues to play while the video is 'frozen', and the video resumes after that.
It will happen on its own, with no bumping, but it is more prone to happen if I do something like increase the volume within the media player.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Didn't have time to do more than skim, but 'Ardour' looked promising. Protools is the only one I've used, the full product is one of the industry standards, but the free 'lite' version listed here seems to be limited to 2 in/out as well.
Referring to your original post, I'd think trying to write or 'script' something would be a nightmare ... synchronisation of streams within something like Applescript would be a major issue, quite apart from anything else.

Problem syncing via wifi palm tx with windows xp pro

I have had my palm tx for a couple of years and had no trouble syncing to my xp pro machine until today. I just got a new wifi dsl-router/modem from embarq (it is a ZyXEL P-660H-D1). I had no problems with my former wifi dsl-router/modem (D-Link DSL-G604T). They are both 802.11b/g. I have enabled b and g on the new router.
The Palm TX does connect to the new router using wpa and I can surf to see web pages. However, it does not "see" my desktop on the network. I've made no changes to my desktop network configurations. (The desktop is visible on the network when I use my lapto). I have checked all the settings in my palm tx and my hotsync manager on the pc. I have tried connecting by putting the desktop's IP address in the Palm, but nothing works. Can anyone think of any setting in the router I might change to resolve this?
FYI I can sync using the cable, but I really prefer using wifi for syncing.
Thanks for any help you can give. (I'm new to this community, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I searched and couldn't find an answer.)

Hello darthemma, welcome to the Palm Support Community!
It sounds like you have the settings correct. I can only suggest you make "Static IP's" for both the computer and TX in your router. That will assign the same IP address to each device permanently.
Here's my standard "Wifi Hotsync" help file. Hope it helps!
Wifi HotSync with a TX
1. On your PC, locate the HotSync Manager (little HotSync icon in the lower right tool tray on a Winbox). Click on it and check off "Network", then click again and select Setup.
2. Pick the Network tab up top in the window that opens, and find your HotSync name in the list. Make sure it's checked.
3. Tap the TCP/IP button, and look at the IP address listed for "Primary PC Address". Write it down.
4. Turn on Wifi on your Palm and connect to your router.
5. On your Palm, select the HotSync program and tap the word "Network" above the HotSync icon in the middle of the screen. Below it, enter the IP address you wrote down in step 3. (Include the periods!).
6. Tap the big HotSync icon above the IP address, and hold on!
7. If you're holding on, and nothing happens try a wired HotSync, then try the Wifi HotSync again. Sometimes, information has to transfer from your PC after you check off the Network option. Also, be sure to watch for any Firewall activity asking you about "HotSync.exe is trying to access your hard drive" etc. You may need to set a rule to allow it.

Thinkpad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video - extended monitor shows only mouse icon

Hi,
I have been using my Thinkpad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video for quite a long time with my previous employer laptop. I recently switched job and got a new laptop (Dell XPS 3, Win 8.1). While installing/paring this laptop with the port replicator, I had some issues e.g. extended monitor not getting identified etc. I updated the drivers and now I am able to identify the extended monitor. But the extended monitor shows only the mouse icon and nothing else. I have upto date Intel HD graphics drivers installed in the laptop. Intel's Graphics control panel doesn't show the extend option for the USB monitor, but able to still move the mouce icon to the extended monitor.
Any help/pointers to fix this issue is highly appreciated.

Drivers for ThinkPad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video

I have a X220 P/N: 4291Gw9 with the port replicator P/N: 51J0246 running Windows 8 Enterprise. I tried installing the Windows 7 drivers with no luck. I can use replicator with keyboard and mouse but i dont see external monitor Sync Master 214T.
Any workaround to this issue? I have 2 external monitors I use for work plus the laptop one as third.
I realy need this second monitor.
Details about my drivers versions:
Windows 8 Enterprise + all updates
Graphic card drivers: 9.17.10.2875
Replicator drivers: tp_usb_prdigvid_v20620

I have about 80 snap ( 20 updatable 60 read - only) and if I try to refresh all of them I take a gpf

Why use Oracle8i Lite?
Um, because my application is writen to use Oracle. I suppose we could port to SQL Server Anywhere, but here we are in the Oracle8 Lite forum, talking about Oracle 8i Lite, right?
The annoying thing is, I seem to be the only person in the world working this way.
I guess maybe we shuold convert our 800 megs of source code to work with Sybase. Seems a shame, if Oracle's lite database is less compatible in this process than SQL Anywhere.
Does anyone from Oracle want to respond ?
ps: nobody at Sybase knew how to get PB to talk to Oracle lite either. They say I can only become the SYSTEM user. And do I want my 100-table schema to be owned by SYSTEM?

I have a Palm Pre with the sprint network and I couldn't or can't find my previous Palm Pre Account in the Palm network. My question How can I recover my original Palm account> I would figure I could just do it with my phone number but this doesnt seem to be the case. I have a replacement Palm coming tuesday and I was told I had to access my Palm account in order for them to save my information. How can I recover my account?

Trying to sync Palm IIIc with Powerbook

I have been trying to sync a Palm IIIc with my Powerbook which is currently running Tiger (I cannot run OS 9 at all).
I bought the IIIc on eBay and it works flawlessly except for the fact that it won't sync. I can click on the hotsync square on the screen of the IIIc and get two options :
1. Direct Serial
or
2. IR (Infrared) to PC/Handheld.
It came with a cable that has the docking connection on one and and a dual splitter on the other - one lead has the serial (female) end and the other is a USB connector. I am able to charge it on the PB using the USB but likely only because it is a powered USB port.
I have tried two different serial to USB adapters and so far, the Powerbook still is not seeing the IIIc.
A friend is giving me a cradle from his old IIIe but it has a serial connection. I expect I will have the same problem with this cradle.
Does anybody have any suggestions ?
Is there an adapter that can be used with OS X/Tiger ?

I have the same problem with my IIIc and powerbook G4 (no syncing with isync).I went ahead and bought the keyspan serial adaptor and still can't get the palm to sync. I also have desktop 4.2.1, running Tiger. I can get the palm to Hotsync with a PC via the standard serial port as well as the Keyspan serial adaptor to usb.

Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

Try restarting the iPod by holding down the lock and home button together and then slide the power button to turn it off and then wait 10 seconds and start it up again. If it is not a reset issue then it may be a hardware issue. Is your iPod damaged or have you dropped it recently? If it is a hardware problem then you may not be able to fix it. If your iPod has multitasking options like the new iOS devices, close out the app and then try again, it should reset your device to letters instead of emojis.

Syncing a Palm V with a MacBook OS X 10.5.6

I have just upgraded from a Mac Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4 to a MacBook running OS X 10.5.6. I had been able to sync my Palm V with the Powerbook without any problem. I am not able to get the sync to work on the MacBook. Can anyone provide a solution?

So I just got back from working with the Mac Genius on the syncing problem. I took both my PowerBookG4 and my MacBook. He pointed out the when I connected the USB travel sync device to the PowerBookG4 while HotSync/Conduitsettings was open, there appeared an icon called "serial connection" which DID NOT appear in the conduitsettings list on the MacBook (only USB and PalmConnect). Obviously this other icon "serial connection" is needed to make the sync work. So... why does it not appear when the USB cable is connected to the PowerBook?
Well, his theory (assuming that the Palm software is working exactly the same on each) is that something is preventing the Palm software from connecting to the handheld (and hence popping up that serial icon) and didn't think it was on the Mac side for the following reasons... He pointed out that when you go into system profiler on the MacBook is DOES show a serial connection that is definitely the USB travel/sync connector (we confirmed that by plugging and unplugging and there was a definite recognition) and it DOES power the device. Hence we can assume that the port is open and ready to receive... that it's not the MacBook port or drivers that are causing the problem.
He thought the engineering of the travel USB sync cable might be such that its drivers (he said it would have drivers) were somehow not compatible and not allowing the handheld to talk to the computer. He suggested talking to the manufacturer to see if there was a later version, or perhaps a more updated cable made by Palm or someone else that has a USB connection that might work.
Another test he suggested is to get a serial to USB connector onto the original (heavy) handheld cradle (which only has a serial connector) and see if the original cradle, when put into a USB connector is capable of talking to the MacBook.
That's were I am so far... Anything from your side?
