Help on SAP Notification iView

Hi All
How can I get SAP Notification iView in the iView template list in EP 7.0? I understand that I have to do some settings for getting this template. But I wonder what settings or configurations I need to do?
Please advise me on this ....

Customizing the "Recent Notifications" iView

Hey folks
Our client wants to change the SAP standard "Recent Notifications" iView. He thinks (justifiably) that the headers "subscriptions" and "subscribed items" are a bit vague, so we want to change them to more specific titles, like "subscription management" and "subscription alerts".
Two questions:
1. Is there an easy way of doing this?
2. If not, how do I customize the iView? According to the iView properties, it's based on com.sap.km.cm.actioninbox, but I can't find this in a PAR file anywhere...
We're still on EP6SP14.

With such modifications you always have to choose between "bad" and "worse" - it's just the question which is which...
Of course you could create a new component with a new name based on the original one and also change the role content to refer to the modified application. On the other side, new SPs have new features and removed bugs, and normally you will like to use these advantages. But if you create a modification in a new namespace, the new PARs aren't referenced.
So, as said, you have to decide what would be more important for you - to have the possibility to upgrade with no extra admin tasks to get your old solution running or to use the new version and to redo the modifications. As in this case "redo" primarily means copy the property files to some place, I would definitely advise to go the way described.
When modifying Java code, this question is harder to answer (and there is no general answer at all). It also can make sense to try to only create some small part of a PAR and from within that, to reference the standard implementation - not always possible and at least initially more work. But to decide what makes most sense is really project and customer dependent.

Recent Notifications iView

Hi All,
I was wondering if someone would be able to help with the following:
I've enabled the recent notifications iView, but I would like to configure it so that when a user clicks on the most recent notification it launches and gets displayed, instead of having to navigate to it through the KM folder structure before being able to view it. Hope this makes sense. We're working with EP 6.40, sp12.
Does something need to be changed on the XML Form, the KM Folder or am I using the wrong type of iView?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ravinder
You can directly point to the recent notifications instead of navigating to that folder in KM.in the com.sap.km.iviews folder you can see the Recent notifications. In the properties of the iview you can set the path to the folder to be notified about.

SAP transaction iview of GUI for html never works

Hi All,
We are implementing ESS/MSS on EP 7.0, ECC 6.0, ESS/MSS 600 landscapes for India Country grouping.
There are few SAP transaction iviews of type GUI for html and we tied up those to ESS Overview homepage framworks.
However, each of these transaction iviews throws the same error messages as below :
Error when processing your request
What has happened?
The URL http://hostname.domain:8001/sap/public/bc/its/mimes/system/sl/page/menubase.html was not called due to an error.
The following error text was processed in the system TD1 : This function is not possible
The error occurred on the application server TCSCQ1_TD1_01 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE
The ABAP call stack was:

I have activated all of the ITS services from sicf transaction. Published all of the services (global, webdui, webdui_start, system, shuffler) to internal.
I also executed the Webgui service from sicf tcode. But, still the same error message persists. Am I missed any settings for Integrated ITS ?
When I enabled option (Display a notification about every script error) from IE options, the system keeps on giving the mesage 'window.wgu.global.eventhandler' is null or not an object, wgu.ObjEventHandler' is undefined etc.,
I have noticed that none of the ITS services never work.
I would appreciate if anyone can shade some light regarding this issue. Any guidance or inputs in this context would be of greatfully help.

Field's content is not fully visible in Sap Transaction iview

Hello Friends,
                I have deployed a Sap Transaction iview on my portal. I am facing a issue. When i do F4 help on a field, the content of columns is not fully visible in the opened up popup window.
    Is there any way to adjust the colum width, so that it accomodates the whole content and doesn't truncate it ?
    please help !

Hi Vidit,
Try to check your Transaction iview directly from the browser / through services not through the EP. If the iview is not working fine then thre is a problem in the code otherwise it has to work

SAP Portal Network - WebDynpro iView and SAP Application iView sharing

Hello All,
I've read about the restrictions in SAP Portal supporting the WSRP standard for application sharing. Mainly WebDynpro iViews and SAP application iViews sharing is not supported. That is in the case of a SAP Portal as producer and Non-SAPPortal as consumer.
I'm interested in a WebDynpro iViews and SAP application iViews sharing in a only-SAP Portals Network, where SAP Portals act as producer and consumer.
I've heard about the Remote Role Assignment and Remote Content Copy that are used in such case. I would like to ask if anyone knows if these can help overcome the restriction in sharing WebDynpro iViews and SAP application iViews that is present with WSRP? And if the advantage of WSPR, that is the application execution and rendering on the producer side, and as follows decreasing of bandwidth usage, is remaining in the case of the Remote Role Assignment and Remote Content Copy.

Sap query iview error

Hi there!
I have a sap query iview in the portal that should display a query in CRM (build with SQ01). The query in the backend is fine, but I get this error message in the portal.
"Error in Source. Message not available"
I have double-checked that the connection parameters of the sap query iview are OK, also I have run a DQE connection test on the system that was(see below) also OK.
Any thoughts on this?

Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Checks the existence of a backend admin user ID/password in the system properties.
2. Checks the existence of a default alias for the system.
3. Checks the DQE connection.
Results
1. Backend admin user ID and password exist in the system properties.
2. Default alias of the system exists.
3. DQE connection successful. If you continue to experience problems, verify the DQE admin user ID and password properties for this system object.

SAP Query iview properties

Hi Portal guru
I am trying to create SAP Query iview but I am facing some problem.
In EP 6.0 there was a standard template for creating Query iview, but there is no standard template in EP 7, but we should create a new iview from par com.sap.pct.srv.portaldataviewer.SAPQueryTemplate .
in properties for EP 6 iview there is a property called SystemIdentifier (as in the file JCODestinatin.xml).
i need solution for what is this property and where can we get that JCODestinatin.xml
Pls give me solution for this ASAP.

Property "OK Code Field" for SAP Transaction iViews

Hi there,
I created an SAP Transaction iView which is accessing an ECC system using SAP GUI for Html. In the properties of the iView I found the property "OK Code Field" - has anybody a idea how this field is used?
I hope that there is a possibility to hide the command field with this parameter. Haven't found a possibility to hide that field although I saw that obviously I'm not the first to deal with this issue...

To disable OK Code field,
- Go to SICF TCODE
- Expand to /default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui service
- double click to enter properties
- On Service Data TAB, click Settings Button
- You have to siwtch to change mode in order to change
- there add the following parameter
Parameter: ~NOHEADEROKCODE
Value: 1

IViewTrayColor and com.sap.portal.iview.family

I am looking to do a custom layout to control the tray colour of an iView and folowing the documentation (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/6dfbbbac847100e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm) on creating a custom layout it mentions to go to the default_iView in the core objects and look at the com.sap.portal.iview.family attribute.
The issue is I can not find this attribute in either the standard iView dislpay editor of the PCD editor.
We are running Portal 6 6.40 SP15...
Does anyone know where to set this value??

I don't have any SPS15 at hand, but on the first SPS16 I checked the attributed is to be found at exactly the place described on help.sap.com (it's name is "Family", the technical name is as described).
Re-check, otherwise consider patching.

How to view a SAP-delivered iView

Hi all -
I am trying to view the code behind an SAP-deliver iView. I found the .par file in the portal and downloaded it to my PC. However, when I try to import it into NWDS, I can't seem to figure out how to open it in any way that will show me the components / classes. When I tried the "Import" option from the File menu on the menu bar, I could import the PAR file into NWDS, but all I can essentially see is the folder structure within the Navigator view - I can't see any code!
Sorry to sound so clueless, but any help is really appreciated. I'm obviously new at this and still figuring out the basics.

even if SAP does not deliver the source code of the core EP apps (which has been discussed already many times, why this is really annoying), on the one hand, you won't get a really good EP developer if you work only with the APIDoc and without the daily use of a decompiler... On the other hand, some customers just want some modification, and if you are able to deliver that (including the knowledge about the pitfalls when doing so) - you'd be in the only position to make the customer happy...

I want to access SAP ECC System outside the network and we don't have authorization to install SAP GUI software as well.
For this i tried to create a SAP Transcation iview with SAP GUI for HTML.This is not working?
Is this right way what iam doing?If yes then y its not working?

You said I want to access SAP ECC System outside the network like this, Please check it are you able to access to ECC System from your local System. Please check it cmd Promt its Pinging or not(Ping IP Address).
If you are not able to ping the ECC System outside the network. Then Check with BASIS Team to get the access.
If pinging...Please follow the below steps and check once again.
Before creating SAP Transaction iView you will need to create System Object for that ECC System, to create a System Object, please follow the below link.

After Creating System Object and System alias. Please check it wether Connection Testing working or not.Now after creating System object, to create iView for the same.
1) Select the Folder you have created.
2) Right Click the Folder and in the Panel, choose IView template.
3) Choose SAP Transaction iView.
4) Give iView Name and iView Id, choose next.
5) Choose SAP GUI for HTML.
6) In order to create a Transaction you first need to create a System Object and then System Alias
7) Select the System from the List displayed and give the Transaction Code. Choose next.
8) Save the changes and test the iView by clicking Preview Button

Configuring Recent Notification iView

Hi!
I've got some problem while trying to configure Recent Notifications iView. I've set property which defines which screen opens when a resource name is clicked with value 'ContentScreen', but when I click resource name in feedback section the opening screen is 'DetailsScreen'. Resources in other sections e.g. Subscription opens in 'ContentScreen'. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? I want to see 'ContentScreen' when I click resource name in feedback section.

you have to modify the link which navigates to the navigation iView. To do so, you have to go to the KM configuration, to the global service > Urlgenerator Service. There you find a list of URL's. One is labeled with 'Navigation Servlet'. Here you can enter a different link. You can for example enter the link to the Admin Explorer, you can make a preview in the portal content directory to the Admin Explorer iView an copy the url from the browser and paste it into the URL Generator Configuration (the part beginning with irj).
This changes the links to folders in the recent notification, but I can not tell you, where else in the portal this link is used. Please be careful with this change.

Content Management : Recent Notifications iview

How can I get notifications to show up in the recent notifications iview for a users. What would i need to do for them to start seeing notifications. I have their service permissions set up as Subscribe.
Anybody deal with this?

The notification iView can show things such as documents waiting for approval, approved/rejected documents, subscription events, etc.
If you want to have subscription events for users, have you subscribed the users to a folder? Setting the service permission only allows the users to subscribe themselves to the folder. You can subscribe them to events such as resource creation, modification, and such. You can do this in the details iView of a folder.
